Popped in for a quick lunch after work and ordered the Carbonara! The noodles had great texture, perfect amount of pepper and overall a great pasta dish. Nice staff, fantastic wine selection and a great place for a meal with friends or colleagues. I would definitely come back!

Service is attentive and the restaurant has charming decor. Chicken parm was dense with a good breading ratio. Sauce complimented nicely and was not over powering. Bread, cheese, and pasta were super fresh. A few innovative cocktails on the menu.

Grilled Spanish Octopus

I have a beef with fine dining! My beef with fine dining is that whenever I go to fine dine spot my expectations are as high as the price of food and I don't care about the ambiance. I don't care what sort of chair I am sitting on, I don't care about what wood was used to make the table. I also don't care about how expensive is the silverware. I JUST WANT THE FOOD TO BE AS GOOD AS THE PRICE! Does Sfoglina fulfills that promise? Yes! Grilled octopus is one of my favorite things to eat. You can tell a restaurant has a good chef if they don't overcook the octopus. This octopus was not overcooked. It was delicious and I enjoyed each and every bit of it. I ordered the Caesar salad as well which was drenched in dressing and also was really refreshing. I also ordered dessert which was okay at best. All in all it is a good place to eat but it is not mind blowing by any means. I'll give this a 3.79 for everything.

April 2026: Sfoglina is a great Italian restaurant. They have a number of locations. I go to their Rosslyn location. They make their pasta by hand daily in their pasta room. Both their food and service has always been very good. Plus they have nice gluten free options. They have gluten free pasta so many of their pasta dishes can be made gluten free by using the gluten free pasta. Their simply grilled food is also gluten free. And they always have at least one gluten free dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant. Sfoglina is located on the lobby level of a tall building. Their bar area has seats in the atrium portion of the building, as well as seats inside the restaurant. I like the atrium portion because it is not as loud and noisy as the main restaurant. And if you are looking for an event space with a real WOW factor, check out Sfoglina's rooftop. The rooftop of this building has a view of the river and DC monuments. It's one of the best views I have ever seen. It's amazing. AND I like it that there is a portion that is inside as well as a portion that is outside. So even if it rains you can still have your event on the rooftop. And if it's a really hot and humid day, your guests can stay in the air conditioned interior. I attach a few photos so you can see for yourself. They will remodel the rooftop so it will look a bit different in a few months but you still get the idea. The rooftop is only available for private events. The restaurant is well worth the visit!

It was my first time at Sfoglina Rosslyn and it was delicious! I had the Lady Luck cocktail ($17 Espolon Blanco, Cointreau, Pomegranate, Lime, Grapefruit Soda) and requested it in a short glass which was balanced and tasty. Their complimentary bread was very good. Thick cut loaves of fluffy bread. I ordered the Fabio's Ravioli San Leo goat cheese ravioli for $26. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and the service was friendly and attentive. They also validate parking in the attached garage which is nice. Dinner is definitely on the pricier side, so I will probably be back to try their happy hour!

I recently had lunch at Sfoglina Rosslyn with coworkers and the food was so good. The place was packed and service was sloooooow, but to be fair it was the last week before Christmas break, so I'm giving them grace. The arugula salad was fresh and delicious, the meatballs were amazing, and the penne alla vodka was fine, but that tiramisu topped with mascarpone? I'm still thinking about it. Like, aggressively. Would absolutely go back (and just plan a little extra time).

Absolutely loved my meal at Sfoglina! The space is cozy and inviting, and the food totally lives up to the hype. You can really taste the difference with the handmade pasta; noodles are fresh, tender, and full of flavor. I had the tagliatelle Bolognese and some happy hour small pasta bites. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a comforting but elevated Italian meal.

The food was a bit oily and pricier than we expected. It's a lovely spot for romantic dates, and the staff is very friendly.

I came here for my birthday and while service was good I felt the food was nothing special. The portions were small and they were a bit heavy handed on salting. We got the meatballs, gnocchi, short rib pasta, and the carpaccio. The carpaccio portioning was very tiny as were the meatballs. My favorite was the short rib as other reviewers seem to agree with. Atmosphere Is not quite the type for a date night but more so for group dinners or family dinner. I unfortunately would not come again.

My friends and I went to Sfoglina for a Friendsgiving, Italian style. The decor and tiny details match the ambiance of authentic Italian cuisine. We all had wine or martinis, from an extensive list of options. We had the garlic bread, which was to die for (not pictured because we ate it so fast). Our waiter also brought out complimentary roasted artichokes which had great flavor. The Caesar salad portions were very big and the split them in two for us. The dressing on the salad was light yet creamy with a perfect amount or Parmesan on top. It does come with an egg on top which I haven't seen before. Everyone loved their main courses. Lots of Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka and Braised Beef Short Rib Agnolotti were ordered. We were stuffed for dessert but they brought out the apple cider gelato which was very light and refreshing.

We visited on a Tuesday evening for a team dinner. The establishment was very clean and organized. The staff was extremely friendly. We had a great location inside of the restaurant where all 10 of us could sit together. All of the drinks were great. I had an old-fashioned, others had various drinks and wine. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. We had a variation of appetizers and entrées on the table to share. I tasted the meatballs, calamari, cheese dish, and other items. Everything was delicious. For my entrée, I had the shrimp scampi with spaghetti, which was amazing. Top-tier experience and I would recommend anyone to come!

TL;DR mediocre & overpriced Sat outside for an early meal - had been interested in this spot and craving Italian. Ordered caprese salad, garlic bread with red sauce, caesar salad and vodka pasta. They kindly halved the dishes we shared. I can't say if that's the culprit, but the portions were unimpressive - not only in size - also in flavor. The pasta was very mediocre with subtle spice. The salad had a semi soft yolk and large croutons which was a highlight. The caprese salad was underwhelming. The winner, and what I would recommend, is the garlic bread. It was crispy outside, soft inside, flavorful, and hot. We also had some martinis - gin and espresso - and a glass of wine. The drinks were very ok. The service here was kind, reasonably attentive, and delivery of plates was prompt. A major flag was when the server handed over the device to pay, they pre-selected 25% tip which is aggressive for a subpar meal. Overall, this felt underwhelming and overpriced, which was unfortunate.

We came here on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed. Our waiter was good and gave some great recommendations. Food was excellent, but we feel a that it was a little overpriced for the portion sizes. For example the burrata was $16 I think, with nothing to put it on, so they recommend getting the tomatoes ($12) and bread ($8) on the side so you're already at $36 for a small cheese appetizer. The burrata and bread were both delicious though! The short rib agnalotti was the best, so delicious and the sauce was incredible. We also got the ragu pappardelle which was delicious but not as good. The tiramisu was one of the best I've had because the coffee flavors were very strong. Usually it's much milder but we really enjoyed how coffee heavy it was. The cannoli cake was also delicious but not as good. Would probably come back because everything was just very delicious!

One of the best new spots I've tried this year. On weekends, a reservation will be a must, as they…read moreare small and get packed, but for good reason. It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!

I know reservations are probably highly recommended, but we were fortunate to walk in at just the right moment and snag a seat. The seating is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. The atmosphere is just my style, an elegant, dark, grown and sexy vibe that really sets the mood. The decor is striking, with thoughtful touches that create an inviting space to unwind. While it leans a bit on the pricier side, the exceptional service more than justifies the cost. Jordan and the team were incredibly knowledgeable about both the drinks and food menu, offering suggestions that perfectly matched our tastes. We tried two standout drinks that I can't recommend enough: the Attractive Nuisance and El Tiburon, (which is an Old Fashioned made with gin). The bartenders here clearly know what they're doing, each drink was crafted with care and precision. The good music in the background added to the overall ambiance, making it a delightful spot to spend an evening.

Ambiance: from the outside you'd have no idea that a hidden treasure awaits you up a flight of stairs. The decor was very mysterious, perfectly dimmed, and sexy. They added greenery near the hostess station to create what I would describe as an exotic/jungle vibe. This area also contained a beautiful small bar and a few cozy seatings. Next, the hostess led us to a table inside where the magic of candles, cozy tables, and intimate booths immediately meets your eyes. Did I mention that we sat in most comfy green velvet chairs in our cozy booth? How sexy! Service: our waiter, Jordan, was the best! He provided great service and recommendations. However, shoutout to the rest of the staff because it was truly all hands on deck. Drinks: the bartender is indeed a mixologist! There is no question of the magic he created in a glass. Her drink- I ordered the Attractive Nuisance, an elevated spritz. The drink was perfectly balanced with flavors to include G.H. Mumm Champagne, Avua Prata Cachaca, Cocchi Americano, Saffron, Vanilla. I literally tasted all the flavors in the drink and the liquor ratio was just right. Of course I went with another round, you simply have to try it understand why I did. His drink: El Tiburón-Let's just say that he said that this is now one of his favorite cocktails because it was smooth! Small bites: the kitchen was out of mussels and their famous donuts so we decided to try the Franks en Crute, the sexy adult version of pigs in a blanket lol. Such a delicious treat, well balanced flavors giving both sweet (flaky puff pastry) and savory (well grilled wagyu beef). Definitely recommend. The music was perfect for the evening! The bar was filled with all matured folks enjoying their group meets or dates, the atmosphere welcomed all. As I stated earlier, this has now become a regular on the list and I'm excited to visit again.
