    ChickenBreastKabob
    Sein S.

I visited recently with a very large group and because of our size, we were seated in the back glass outhouse area. Since it was a weekday in March, it was quite dark and chilly; while the staff did their absolute best to keep us comfortable, the outdoor heaters couldn't quite beat the early spring cold. There were a few hiccups with our orders being mixed up, but honestly, I think that was mostly due to our group's size being a bit overwhelming for the space. I have a feeling the service would be much smoother for a smaller party, but the food more than made up for the wait. I had the chicken breast kebab with a side salad, and it was fantastic--the flavors felt truly authentic to Persian cuisine. I'd definitely come back, perhaps with a smaller group next time to stay inside where it's a bit warmer!

Ordered: Chicken Soltani (~$24 on UberEats): one chicken kabob and one beef koobideh with half saffron basmati rice & half shirazi salad with grilled tomato and lime Bakhtiari (~$34 on UberEats): one chicken kabob and one beef kabob with half saffron basmati rice & half shirazi salad with grilled tomato and lime Aya's take: Being Middle Eastern myself and having had my fair share of Persian food, I was not impressed with Seven Valleys (3.5/5 is a more accurate rating) but considering the lack of options/competition in Hoboken and North Jersey in general, it's decent and does the job. For the price, it felt like the portion could have been better. The saffron basmati rice was also overcooked and not as fragrant or aromatic as I'm used to. It was very buttery and went well with the meats. The meats were the best part of this. The Chicken Soltani & Bakhtiari are both great options if you're looking for variety of meats. The chicken kabob was great but had no sumac on it which is practically unheard of in Persian cuisine. The beef kabob was super tender but they were more like strips not chunks, which again isn't very traditional. The beef koobideh was well-seasoned, slightly dry, but still decent. It was very filling and tasted like home but don't expect to be blown away by any means.

Came here for brunch, the food was really good and enjoyed the light decor. Service was decent but she missed that we asked for the eggs over medium - all good though. It was also a shame they didn't have one of the items on the already short brunch menu but the chocolate tahini French toast was to die for! Not too sweet either. The tea was delicious, we really liked the saffron honeycomb touch. The platter was nice too, but it would've been nice if a meat option was available to come with it. Would love to come back for their dinner menu!

Ordered takeout. Delicious food! but the portion size is rather small compared to other restaurants. I would order again.

Stopped in here for lunch one random day. Seven Valleys had been on my list for quite sometime. The space is small, quiet and serene. They had a pretty decent lunch special for $13.95 which was your choice of a kebob with rice and shirazi salad. I got the chicken and I added an appetizer of Masto Khiar which is the yogurt. The food was excellent. It was a pretty good lunch portion though I could have used one more piece of chicken. The rice was fantastic. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. The chicken was moist and tender. I did not care for the bread too much but I also prefer to eat the yogurt with my meal. The server was very friendly but it was a pretty slow service. It had a chill vibe in there so I was not expecting a fast paced meal. Just keep in mind that it might be slow when eating on your lunch break.I will certainly be back for dinner very soon.

Small quaint place, quick & attentive service and fresh, good food -- just the right combination required for late Saturday lunch! We had Kale Salad with chicken, Veg kebab platter and their bread with cherry jam. Food was tasty. We both loved the cherry jam with cardamon. My veg platter was almost perfect, just lacking some sauce to tie it together. Oh and the best part....you can buy a $2.00 piece of real good baklava to satisfy the sweet tooth without causing a dent in the diet :) Definitely try this place out. Dont remember if it is BYOB.....if it is next time carrying a bottle for the meal!

Best Dolma's we've ever had!! Food was exceptional and service was great. Ambience was wonderful as well. The lamb shank stood out and fell right off the bone! Will be coming back here.

Appetizer, forgot the name, but it's the one made from eggplants.

2nd time here and was with a group. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The chicken chunks were big yet very tender and juicy, not dry at all. Just the skewers are a bit pricey (~$15 per skewer).

I placed on order through Yelp/Grubhub over 2 hours ago!!! Tried calling the restaurant twice and no one picked up. This is HORRIBLE customer service!

Baklava (comes with 4 pieces, already ate 2 before this picture)

I went to Seven Valleys on a weekday to try out their lunch special with two friends. I got the beef kabob with a side of hummus, and they got the chicken kabob, one with a side of baklava and the other with a side of hummus. The beef kabob was okay - I really wish I got the chicken kabob because it looked more flavorful and filling than the beef. They both enjoyed their chicken kabob, and one spoke highly of the baklava, so I decided to order it for dessert. There's actually four pieces of baklava for the dessert, but I had already eaten two before the picture was taken because it was so good! The lunch special is really a great deal, only $13.95 for the whole plate and definitely worth it. The restaurant itself is small (like a city restaurant) but cute ambiance, and it was pretty full for a weekday lunch crowd.

    Medley for Two
    Sarah V.

Decided to come here on a random weekday since we were in the area. Spot is on the smaller side and we asked to sit outside to enjoy the beginning of spring. Good vibes. We ordered the Medley for Two along with two appetizers (hummus and Potato Tadhig with chicken stew). My husband really liked the hummus and bread and even asked for seconds on the bread. My husband got the cherry soda and I got an iced tea for refreshments. They were busy so food came a little more spaced out, but I'm okay with it because the food was really yummy. Would like to come again for their brunch. Appropriate for a dinner with you partner or besties.

Beef kebab, rice, cucumber salad, pistachio baklava
    Mike H.

Got the beef kebab lunch special with rice, cucumber salad, and mini baklava. The portion was just enough rather than heaping. The beef was good but could've been chewier and more flavorful. Overall the meal was healthy but not incredibly exciting. The baklava was dense and sweet and was the best I've had.

    Chicken Soltani Kabab

Finally got to try this place for takeout (which I would recommend because there isn't that much seating). I ordered the Chicken Soltani (one skewer of chicken kebab, one skewer of koobideh kebab, served with rice or Shirazi salad and grilled tomato). I'm trying to cut back on carbs so I opted for the salad only, but I liked that they give you the option of doing half rice and half salad. The salad was only okay - it was a bit oily. It's pretty much like a Shepherd's salad. I'm not sure what the difference is between the two, if any. Both of the kebabs were amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful - especially the chicken. Don't let the looks fool you because it looks like it could be dry but it's actually the complete opposite. Can't wait to go all out next time and try some of their specialty rices!

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. A huge thank you to Musa and the entire staff for making our evening so memorable. We'll definitely be back -- and we'll be bringing more friends with us!

Delicious from start to finish!…read more A colleague recommended Ravagh for a team dinner in the Chelsea location and I am so grateful we came here. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out. The service is great, everyone is super attentive and you can really feel that the food with made with love. So glad I tried this place and I'll be back to give their dolmeh and dessert a taste!

You don't typically walk into any restaurant in Chelsea/Flatiron and find that half the people or more in the restaurant are of that culture (unless we're talking cheeseburgers or wings here). Their wine list is extensive and interesting. They don't have everything on it, but that's okay, we had a fun Artadi wine from Spain - a winery we've been to, which was what I was going for on the list. The cocktails didn't speak to me, but that's okay, persian cocktails can be great or confused. These seemed more on the confused side. The fresh herbs were served as an app, and they were great. Just like my grandma always has on her table. The feta stuffed dates were fantastic, again a nice treat that reminds me of something my grandma might serve me. The labne was stellar with pita bread, and the kashk e bademjan was really good, though not like any I've made before. But that dish can be wildly different anywhere you go. I asked for Tahdig and got some, but I got ghormeh sabzi dolloped on my tahdig which was interesting - like ghormeh sabzi nachos. I do wish the ghormeh sabzi was better. However I may just be extremely partial to our own ghormeh sabzi at home. The cornish game hen kabas were out of this world! sooooo juicy! Definitely worth a visit - you'll enjoy it - but I don't know if tahdig and ghormeh sabzi here are the way to go.

My friend and I found this spot nearby in North Jersey, and we had to give it a try. We stoped in on a Friday evening to a fairly busy restaurant. The owner acknowledged and greeted us immediately. The dining style is pretty casual where customers can sit at any open table. We were very glad to find Tahdig on the menu, since my friend had been wanting to try it for a while. The owner took our appetizer and entree orders promptly after bringing over some fresh bread. He was the only employee waiting all of the tables, and he did managed to provide excellent service. Our Tahdig came out first, topped with our choice of Gheimeh (beef and split pea stewed in tomato sauce). This my first time trying stew on top of Tahdig, and I was surprised at how well it complemented the dish. The crispy rice was cooked to perfection as well; the Tahdig far exceeded our expectations. The entrees came out shortly after the appetizer. My friend and I both ordered the Kabob Soltani, which comes with one skewer of Beef Kabob and one of Koobideh. Every component of the meal was perfect. The meat was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Saffron Basmati came very close to what I've had on the West Coast. Even the salad veggies were perfectly fresh and crispy. We had an exceptional dining experience with excellent food quality and great service. The meal came to about $20 per person (no drinks, just the entrée) and while the 'Kabob Koobideh' was a generous portion, the falafel sandwich (for $15) is wildly overpriced (it's about $10 from Greek Town right across the street, never mind about $8 from Mamoun's just about two minutes away over on Rt. 17N). They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. Overall good experience, love that they played Persian music to give it a real deal feel. Will be back!

Came here for lunch. It was about $18 (after tax) for gyro meat, rice and some salad…read more Service: considering I didn't stay to eat, it was good enough. Took about 10 minutes to make my food. Ambience: some people had lunch inside. The place isn't big, but there was plenty of space. It looks like you may get more food when dinning in. What I liked: the rice. It was well flavored and perfectly cooked. What I liked less: the gyro meat. It tasted like it was mixed with stuff, probably gluten. The salad was also on the plain side although I liked that they shredded some pickles into it. Overall, not bad but if I come back I will probably try something else of the menu.

Everytime I order, they conveniently forget something. And I Just can't understand it. Either they forget the Pita, or the sauce , or the rice or The actual meal. This time I ordered two Kubidas. and I ordered extra bread with the humas knowing they would forget the pito as in the past! Grant it , this meal cost me over 70$ with uber eats. My bad. this time they decided to exlude the rice. When I called it asked why , the ladies answer was because I ordered extra bread so they assumed I didn't want rice.! I mean , seriously? When will I learn my lesson with this place? Buyer beware. Enough is enough!

We had to keep ordering bread to make sure we finished every last drop of sauce in each plate (and the bread is fantastic too). Cocktails are very good as well and not badly priced. All servers were friendly and the place had a casual yet sophisticated vibe, which I like. This is a restaurant where you should come with a group to make sure you try a bit of everything. The price-to-quality ratio has me planning my next visit!

It disappeared within 4 bites. Maybe that's a good thing? The kashke bademjan (eggplant, $23) is smothered in yogurt and other toppings. Would say this is more worth than the carrot, on a flavor per bite basis. I would hardskip the potato tahdig ($18). Convince me that this is something more than an enlarged hashbrown with fancier ketchup. The baseline was on a dollar menu. This evokes the "this is chicken nuggets" meme after someone prepared a "breaded chicken piccata." The kabob koobideh ($25) comes with 7 small cubes of beef/brisket, and some rice. Can you taste or experience the wagyu? What are we doing here? You receive 1 bone marrow and 4 pieces of angus short rib with the ghormeh sabzi ($48). Good, yes. Worth it? Questionable. Overall, delicious, but I'm biased toward Persian food and feel like it has a high floor. I don't think Eyval stood out compared to lower-priced Persian options, which made me feel like the visit wasn't justified.
