I really enjoyed this restaurant. It was so cozy and quaint. The food felt homemade. The service was pretty good. They gave us free dessert. I loved everything we ate. Flavors were so unique. I would definitely go back try the rest of the menu items.

Overall, it's a great place and the food was excellent. As others have mentioned, the menu has limited options. The only thing I wish they offered is a sampler plate of the appetizers and main courses, so you could try a little bit of everything. The prices are reasonable and the service was great.

Quite a disappointment. We all know that there's slim pickings for Persian food in NYC, so any new opening is welcomed. But despite the inviting atmosphere and actually quite vegetarian-friendly menu, pretty much everything we ordered was mediocre. They offer vegetarian versions of most of the main dishes, so we tried the fesenjoon and ghormeh sabzi. They used portobello mushroom in lieu of meat - but both dishes were rather bland. The saffron rice served alongside lacked any adornments, maybe some sour cherries or barberries would have helped. The price point was quite steep considering what these dishes were. Service also felt a bit rushed and not particularly friendly.

Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus...AND a cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant in soulless Midtown! Seriously, though, I bet when Santa wants to feast on spiced meat, he comes to this gorgeous, dimly lit spot filled with charming decorations, paintings, scrolls, and exposed brick. I bet he enjoys the enormous portions of rice and veggies that accompany the perfectly grilled Koobideh and savory Gheymeh. He probably skips the ice-cold Kuku Sabzi, one of the few disappointing items on the menu. But he makes up for it with the lovely Persian Tea Service, a warm counterpart to the icy saltiness of the homemade Doogh. Especially when said tea service comes with tasty cardamom custard that makes you want to cry with happiness. Go. Go now, before the critics and influencers "discover" this place.

I've been wanting to try @nasrinskitchenresturant for a while since I wasn't very satisfied with the other Persian food I've had in the city so far. The waiters were really nice and the environment is well decorated. Their food has more of a homemade authentic flavor to it, and I'd want to try other dishes in the future!

Made reservations and that was great because this got busy quite quickly on a rainy Wednesday. My party chose to do the bed seating and I think we were the only ones. They have a few bed seating set ups and lots of regular tables. For food, we had the following: Kashk Bademjoon: Persian Eggplant Dip, enriched with walnuts, crispy onions, and mint oil, served with nigella-sesame bread. Gheymeh Nesar: chunks of lamb with sour orange peel, barberries, saffron, and tomato paste, seasoned with spices. This dish is served with rice adorned with Persian pistachios, almonds, and onions. Chelo Kabab Koobideh: Ground lamb and beef kebab with saffron and spices, served with basmati rice, grilled tomato, onion, lime, fresh basil, and butter. Persian Tea Service: Iranian black tea with Chef Nasrin's signature sweets, cardamom sugar cubes, saffron rock candy, and rose petals, freshly brewed daily. It's supposed to serve 4 people. The food was delicious and they served generous portions. I think it's more of a family style restaurant. We had some familiar things and some completely new experiences. The rice dish, gyemeh nesar, was a brand new experience. The orange peels, sour berries with rice and lamb was new and delicious. Very happy with this experience and will be back to explore the menu!

The Kashk Bademjoon was really the highlight of the meal for me, it was super flavorful and just.a really solid eggplant dish. I wish they had given us at least one piece of bread per person for it though. It was just two of us and splitting one piece of bread was less than ideal, although the bread is really good. The Chelo Khoresh-e Ghormeh Sabzi was very tender and well cooked, I would recommend if you like lime zest. Fesenjoon was also very tender but you'll only like it if you like very sweet meat dishes.

Nasrin's Kitchen is a bit difficult to spot from the street if you're not from the area - but once you're inside, you're greeted by warm ambient lighting, and a mix of traditional and modern Persian music. Service is good, but the restaurant seems a bit understaffed. We arrived at 5:30, about 30 minutes after the restaurant opened and the tables quickly flooded with people (it's clearly popular!); the servers seemed a bit overwhelmed. Food is fresh, delicious and authentic. Fesenjoon is a must try if you're looking for a savory, warm meal.

This place is a hidden gem in midtown. Authentic Persian eats. Family owned. Welcomed in as soon as you walk through through the door. They sat us within a few mins on a Saturday without a reservation. It felt like the restaurant transported you to Iran with the decor and music. Food was delicious. Fesenjoon is a must; I loved the tart sauce it came in. Rice was out of this world. Portions of food were just right.

    Delicious Gheymeh Nesar!

The staff is so friendly and so many persians were there, I was quite pleased at that! You don't typically walk into any restaurant in Chelsea/Flatiron and find that half the people or more in the restaurant are of that culture (unless we're talking cheeseburgers or wings here). Their wine list is extensive and interesting. They don't have everything on it, but that's okay, we had a fun Artadi wine from Spain - a winery we've been to, which was what I was going for on the list. The cocktails didn't speak to me, but that's okay, persian cocktails can be great or confused. These seemed more on the confused side. The fresh herbs were served as an app, and they were great. Just like my grandma always has on her table. The feta stuffed dates were fantastic, again a nice treat that reminds me of something my grandma might serve me. The labne was stellar with pita bread, and the kashk e bademjan was really good, though not like any I've made before. But that dish can be wildly different anywhere you go. I asked for Tahdig and got some, but I got ghormeh sabzi dolloped on my tahdig which was interesting - like ghormeh sabzi nachos. I do wish the ghormeh sabzi was better. However I may just be extremely partial to our own ghormeh sabzi at home. The cornish game hen kabas were out of this world! sooooo juicy! Definitely worth a visit - you'll enjoy it - but I don't know if tahdig and ghormeh sabzi here are the way to go.

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. A huge thank you to Musa and the entire staff for making our evening so memorable. We'll definitely be back -- and we'll be bringing more friends with us!

Delicious from start to finish!…read more A colleague recommended Ravagh for a team dinner in the Chelsea location and I am so grateful we came here. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out. The service is great, everyone is super attentive and you can really feel that the food with made with love. So glad I tried this place and I'll be back to give their dolmeh and dessert a taste!

Soft blankets, but still, I was worried Our menus flew away so I went inside and asked if we could sit somewhere else. They were able to sit us on the side of the restaurant outside under a plastic enclosure. Sitting down I was a little bit worried because the chairs at the table seemed really rickety until I met Juan. I forgot all about the rickety chairs and tables once Juan and the food entered my life. Juan is a bright shiny star so happy self friendly so warm and he told us everything to order. He didn't lead us astray once and we love that in a waiter. This time during our our New York visit we were not only discussing our food we are also our waiters. As the hummus was being served, I was telling my table that I don't eat hummus anymore. I found a reason to go back on that here. A must order would be the very first bread in the bread slices for handstands down. So I must've said that it was my birthday when I made the reservation which my birthday is this month and our dessert came with a candle and Juan sang happy birthday to me. It was so freaking cute. I was with two non-dessert eaters but they dove in and I seriously got no more than 1/3rd of it, not one slurp bite or morsel more. I wanted to order another. The only chains I'd make is that I wish there were more bathrooms. I felt bad for the waitstaff peeking at the line and choosing not to stand in it. I hear the chef is up for a James Beard award and the menu is changing with more veggies for the summer. I'll be back in August!
