Grabbed a quick sandwich here the other day while galavanting through Manhattan. My coworkers and I used to sometimes frequent this establishment for lunch back when I used to work in the area. It's good to see not a lot has changed, the vibe is still very airy and welcoming. The Turkish bread definitely tastes fresh. The sauces given on the side could be thicker or tastier. I don't like how watery the red sauce is. The doner meat is good but it could definitely use a little bit more seasoning. I noticed they put a lot more meat in the sandwich now which I really do appreciate. A creamy sauce inside the sandwich like ranch or white sauce would elevate this sandwich so much. Just a little something to give it some pizzazz.. if you know you know.

Really impressed with the falafel sandwich.Fantastic and a good amount of food. The restaurant is located in the corner of 6th and W 24rd street. Definitely will be back to try shish kebab and other specialties.

I came here a while back on a random summer night for some late night eats. I got a shawarma/gyro sandwich to go as they were in the process of closing for the night. It was pretty tasty and flavorful and fairly filling. I would definitely try the other items on the menu. As someone who has tried a fair share of shawarma places in the city from popular places like Mamouns in the Village to the lesser known places that are out in Bayridge like Al Aqsa, I would say it ranks up there for Midtown. As others have said, the space itself is fairly casual and the service was pretty quick.

Stopped by to get a take out platter for lunch. The store was super clean, not a lot of people. This time the service was much faster. We had to wait less than 10 minutes compared 20-25 minutes at other times. The chicken and lamb gyro mix was really good with tasty side of salad. I still do not like the thick rice they use.

Got the falafel with Turkish bread and it was super good, wasn't dry at all, and was overall quite filling. Came across this place when I was looking for food one night and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place because it really satisfied my hunger. Inside was clean, they have many options to choose from as well as desserts. We had quite a large order and so it took a bit longer

You're walking down 6th in the middle of the night and there's a fragrant smell of deliciousness lingering from the corner of 23rd. Walk to the back to the nicest lady that takes your order and provides easy suggestions from the menu. I ordered the Lamb Shish Kebabs. S'GOOD. It took 15 min to wait for, but whew! Worth the wait. The lamb is so good, like melts in your mouth good. The salad tastes fresh. The rice is bomb. I'm not usually a fan of hot sauce but all the sauce they provide with the meal is excellent. Definitely would recommend for a late night bite!

Good casual spot for the food. Good service. Chicken Breast Kebab: Got the large size which I shared with my mom, and it was tender. Lacking a bit of flavor, so the side sauces helped to bring out the spices. Had a side salad which made it a more balanced meal. I'd say that this is a solid place with decent price. It however reminds me a bit of halal food I'd get from the food trucks, which is cheaper and tastes similar. Overall still good, but might not come back again due to that.

Has the lamb gyro. It's large enough for $9, but it is quite bland, and a little dry. The pita is thin and dry as well - not the fluffy moist pita you would expect at a place like this. I didn't try the baklava, but the price was offensive at $8 for two measly squares. I am no stranger to paying too much for tiny pastries (and do so gladly when the quality is there), but the quality of the lamb and pita did not inspire confidence in their baked goods. I would return if hit on the head.

I was honestly surprised that this place had reviews that weren't that great. I stopped by here for a quick bite and got the chicken gyro. The service was very quick and I got my good in a timely manner. The food was also pretty tasty. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner because there aren't any servers and the chairs are essentially bar stools facing the windows

I added to my list but didn't try it until this week and I was blown away! The restaurant is lovely and has a great vibe (although it is a little loud due to the low ceilings). Super glad I got to try out NAR and I hope it does well, because the food is straight up amazing. I started off with a glass of the Cotes d'Avanos Narince Blend from Turkey and I highly recommend! It's medium bodied and acidic, with mineral, stone fruit, and citrus, and would go really well with seafood. For food, we began with the mezze sampler, which included babaganoush, muhammara, and hummus. This is a great way to start the meal, especially since Nar serves a delicious bread (crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside) as a complementary starter. My favorites were the muhammara, an intense, piquant spread made with roasted red peppers and pomegranate molasses, and the ever-smoky babaganoush, which was served with pomegranates. The hummus was great, too; I just thought it wasn't a standout. -Aegean Style Cherry Vine Leaf Sarma (stuffed vine leaves, cherry yogurt, pine nuts, currants): Delicious. The savory, salty sarma are tasty on their own, but best when lightly sweetened with the cherry yogurt and tart, juicy currants. -Beyti Kebab (hand minced lamb wrapped in lavash, yogurt, confit tomatoes): This was the most flavorful lamb - juicy, smoky, perfectly spiced - I've had in a long time. The lavash (bread) that it was rolled in was also spiced, the yogurt was cooling, and the tomatoes and bell peppers a fresh and flavorful accompaniment. We finished off the meal with ice cream and Turkish coffee. The coffee took a while, so they took it off of our bill, which was a kind gesture. The ice cream was a different experience! It was made with goat milk, so the flavor was distinct, and it was extremely thick. High-quality and fun to try, but just a little too thick for my preferences.

I got to try a variety of different items, inducing: ayran, chicken Adana sandwich on home bread, Turkish tea, and rice pudding. The ayran was probably the best I've ever had in my life. It was so refreshing, the perfect amount of salt, so good. And it's homemade. I would highly recommend you try this drink regardless of what you order, it's that good. The chicken Adana sandwich was also quite nice. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned in a good portion with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes as well. The bread was great. It's served with two wonderful, flavorful sauces: hot sauce and yogurt sauce (I much prefer the latter). Portion is incredible for the price. Then, I was initially interested in trying the fig pudding for dessert but they were out of it, so I went with the rice pudding. Again, a huge portion that is well worth the price. So creamy, so good. And, they brought out 2 Turkish teas for free to make up for not having the fig! The people are just very nice here, and the tea was also lovely, piping hot and just perfect. It's a pretty small restaurant but doesn't get crowded early on. They were playing some Turkish music while I ate, and I really enjoyed it.
