    Zizi Shakshuka
    Cyrus A.

Zizi had delicious Middle Eastern food in a pleasant setting, brunch was solid. The shakshuka was full of flavor, savory with good spice giving it a nice kick. The eggs weren't as runny as I was expecting, more over medium in cook, but still a hearty meal overall. And it came with challah bread that was flaky and rich in texture; great for dipping in the shakshuka or eating on its own. The french toast was great, a layered cube filled with compote. The compote was excellent, and the cream served alongside was next level, I had a few dollops of it on its own. Great stop for a good brunch in this part of Chelsea!

Zizi Chelsea Came across Zizi because we were looking for somewhere for a Friday night on the west side of Manhattan that is vegetarian-friendly (without being fully vegetarian), with a full bar and a nice vibe for long-time friends to catch up. Bonus is that there are happy hour drink and food specials until 6:30! We enjoyed everything we ate and drank. "Zizi is a Mediterranean restaurant with a Tel Aviv soul, where vibrant flavors meet laid-back elegance." Nice space with a large bar with seats and more tables than expected. Very nice ambiance, wonderful staff who are fruitful, helpful and attentive. We shared all the vegetarian items and a couple of us also shared the lamb chops (it's 2 pieces per order). Happy hour small plates $9 Happy hour martinis $11. For drinks - one friend had the Sunny Days Up mocktail, the rest of us had happy hour Martini's (the Double Hibiscus and the Motek Lemon Drop). Small plates that we shared (at happy hour prices!): Crispy Tempura Artichokes Halloumi Pesto Hummus (we added an extra pita and veggie sticks for extra $) Roasted Cauliflower & Lima Beans (the lima beans come in puree form) Mains: Lamb chops Confit Fennel & Labneh We somehow made room to share a dessert: Baklava Cheesecake As we walked out we agreed we all want to come back!

Zizi is conveniently located in the heart of Chelsea and offers a variety of Mediterranean specialties. The menu includes is a love letter to Tel Aviv, and is filled with options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. We visited on a Thursday and there was ample seating and were immediately welcomed. Initially, we planned on visiting another restaurant but were delighted Zizi didn't require a reservation. Upon entry, we felt the warmth of the staff and positive energy. The restaurant is lively and is marked by mood lighting and individual lamps on each table. Portions are generous and diners will feel they received value. I will undoubtedly include a trip to Zizi upon my next trip to New York.

My family of four from Phoenix was pleasantly surprised by the diversity on the menu. Hands-down, you gotta try the eggplant Desert if it's available I hate eggplant and it was the most delicious dessert I've had in a very long time. Highly recommend. Super friendly staff and amazing service.

False advertising on RESY that the restaurant did not honor. Apparently martini hour is only Monday through Friday and not Saturday. My friend and I purposely booked an earlier dinner reservation for the martini hour. Would've booked a later reservation or somewhere else. Let our server know that it did say it on Resy (as you can see in caps). Even though we didn't push the matter more, felt like our server had animosity towards us for the rest of the night. Otherwise, it was a very cute restaurant and the food was good. Hope they fix their listing on RESY.

We got here to celebrate a very special birthday on a weeknight. Made a reservation on Resy and it was probably the right choice, seeing that tables were pretty packed. We got a nice cozy table along the wall and started our dinner in due course. The ambiance in the evening is super romantic with the dim lights and such. Fortunately, we had a small iPad with the menu, which we needed in order to see what to order. Originally, we thought we'd only get full with a small and medium item.... but instead decided later to order a proper large item to split between the two of us. Anyhow, here's everything we ordered: 1) Tayim cocktail: Pretty solid cocktail. Great presentation 2) Lama Lo: This was mine. I personally enjoyed it. Great choice of single malt and the orange dash was perfect 3) Spicy Rainbow Moroccan Carrots: This was really good. Nice kick to the carrots. Better presentation. 4) Harissa Butternut Squash: We felt this one complemented the carrots pretty well. Again, a nice kick to it too, but also very fresh and the herbs added a zing to it. 5) Oyster Mushroom: One of our favorites. After chowing all of this down, we were treated to not one baklava, but TWO as we got the fun birthday celebration with the second one. Price is at Chelsea levels, but the ambiance was so awesome. I highly recommend.

I had an amazing Middle Eastern dinner at Zizi in Chelsea. They have a martini happy hour from 3:30 - 6:30 so we started off with a lemon drop martini and a luxardo cherry martini. For appetizers we had the fennel confit with labneh, tempura artichokes, and grilled cabbage with a salad of snow peas, asparagus & arugula with a tahini dressing. For our main course, the grilled branzino. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! A special shout out to Orin and Maria. The one downside is that by 7pm, the restaurant gets very crowded and loud. I will definitely go back, but a lot earlier!

Great date nite spot. Made reservations and took a seat at the bar. Drinks were decent I had a pineapple infused martini. For appetizers we did the crispy tempura artichoke and the triple cooked fries, it was good just a tad bit oily. For the main dishes we did the salmon skewers and the chicken shawarma. Both these dishes were full of flavor and besides that our pita was burnt we rated the dinner 8/10z Service was decent , most of the time we were waiting but eventually they came over, I just think they are very busy . Definitely recommend to try it out , it's always great to try different spots with good vibes for dinner.

We had small bites and everything was excellent! Marrow, stripped bass ceviche, chicken skewer, and blended baba ganoush. All was excellent! Great cocktails, perfect ambiance, and exceptional service!

The place wasn't busy during lunch time but busy during dinner time. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Lunch specials are $21.95 for 2 courses while dinner specials are $36.95 for 4 courses. I had the Eggplant with Tomato Sauce and Beets as the first course and Lamb Adana Kebab as Entrée. Lamb Adana Kebab comes with salad, which I can't have since it's cold and raw, but they were able to accommodate me and replaced salad with more rice. I had Kabak Tatlısı, which has a nice sweet taste and is healthy. All were delicious, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Plus, the Turkish Tea as the fourth course was a great pair with my meals. Their menu offers a variety of choices, including options that are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. I would definitely come back and suggest you give this place a try if you are in Hell's Kitchen or Columbus Circle.

Definitely did not disappoint. All the food here is sharable and for 4 people it was enough. Sadly could not bring it all with us, but would have if we lived here. Rather than immediately posting a public review, I contacted management privately because I believed they deserved the opportunity to address the situation professionaly. Their initial response was that they would review the incident internally. After I followed up, they specifically offered to send me a complete ingredient list for everything we ordered so I could review it with my healthcare provider. I accepted that offer but, the ingredient list was never sent. Months later, there has still been no meaningful follow-up. My frustration isn't about demanding compensation or proving what caused the reaction. It's about customer care and accountability. Making promises that are never fulfilled leaves the impression that guest concerns only matter until the bill is paid. Once our $471 tab was settled, the commitment to help simply disappeared. The food and atmosphere may attract people, but how a restaurant responds when something goes wrong is what defines its hospitality. Unfortunately, based on my experience, the follow-through did not match the promises made, and I can't recommend a restaurant that handled a serious guest safety concern this way. Its NYC, 1000s of restaurants will charge less serve higher quality ingredients and treat you with greater hospitality, and this place is located in midtown east.

Also plusses in Miriam's favor were the fact that I could easily make a reservation (they use SevenRooms) and its proximity to the Museum of Natural History. Many of the menu items looked appealing. Two of us ordered the latkes Benedict ($27) which I loved. Instead of Canadian bacon, you're served smoked salmon. And swap out the regular hollandaise for a harissa version. There was also za'atar labneh and a chopped salad with cucumbers and tomatoes on the side, also delectable. The third person ordered the traditional shakshuka ($24) which also earned acclaim. I have to give a thumbs up to the hummus. The hostess was peppy and welcoming. Our server was more scarce towards the end of the meal for some reason, but she was nice, and the busboy seemed cool. I have been twice now, once on the East Side and again last night on the West Side, and I came away both times with the same impression: that some places are content to simply be good, over and over, without announcing it. The watermelon salad is sweet and hot at the same time, feta and mint against Italian chile, and it is the right thing to have first. The schnitzel is what it ought to be. The kebab, lamb and beef together, is the thing I would order if I were only allowed one thing. The knafeh cups are better on the East Side, where the crisp kataifi is laid over the cream rather than baked into a shell around it. On the West Side you have to break into the cup before you get anywhere. On the East Side the spoon goes straight down through the crunch and into the cream, and that is the whole difference. But it is the people I keep thinking about. They are kind without performing kindness, which is harder than it sounds. Last night I watched the room work, water poured, plates cleared, dishes set down, and it was never quite the same hand doing it, and never once the wrong one. A floor moves that way only when everyone on it is paying attention to everyone else. Two visits, two neighborhoods, one restaurant. I suspect that is the point.
