Holy crap. If you are looking for an incredible experience from service to Mediterranean food then this is it. This is an insane good restaurant and you will 100% think so after biting into a damn tomatoe. THE SALAD: This is so good, if you're not really a salad person but you appreciate it then you should try this. Normally I would never get a salad but i took the leap here since Greek food is known for their salad. IT WAS SO GOOD. Immediately after taking a bite of stone tomatoes i was convinced. I never thought a salad could be THIS good. The slightly sour and tangy flavor hits a refreshing spot in your mouth but the funny thing is that these are all just fresh vegetables. How do they do it? I don't know. MOUSSE CAKE: Holy crap, dance on my tongue and take it home. The texture is silky and the flavor is decadent. I've been to Kyma twice, both times for a birthday dinner, and my experience was the same each time. The restaurant itself is cute, especially upstairs. Downstairs seems less aesthetic, with tables just jammed in to fit as many groups as possible. Both times I sat downstairs, which seems to be where larger groups are placed. First the food. 10/10. I thoroughly enjoyed the food both times I've gone. It's served family style with a range of appetizers, 2 entrees and about 3 sides, and it's a lot of each so very generous portions. Some standouts are the zucchini chips, Greek salad, calamari (way too salty the second time tho), branzino (my fave), steak and the Brussels. The cocktails are ok, I thought the passion fruit one I tried was just a tad too sweet. Now to the atmosphere. This place really functions as a club like restaurant. This means that from the moment you are seated, the music is blaring. Don't expect to have any meaningful conversations with your group, except the person sitting directly next to you. I wish they'd gradually increase it as dinner dwindled, instead of having it at level 100 before apps are even served. The DJ is ok. Think techno versions of popular songs to get folks moving. I wish he had more range but it was exactly the same each time that I went. I did notice that the DJ upstairs was playing different music when I went to the bathroom, if that matters. My second peeve was that they turned the lights off midway through dinner. Like entrees had not come out and it was pitch black. Not dimmed restaurant lighting, but dark. Not being able to see my food while I'm eating was just strange. Again, I wish they'd gradually dim the lights and then go club dark once folks were at least partially finished eating. Overall, it was a fun concept but felt more tailored to 21 year old college students and bachelorette groups. Food was great but atmosphere was too much for me. It made me want to come back again and actually start going to more places like this. From the moment we got there, the energy was just there. The DJ was so fun and really kept the vibe going all night. The food and drinks were so delicious, everything hit. But honestly, what sold me the most was the overall vibe; it's the perfect mix of dinner and a night out. I've been meaning to check this place out, and boy they didn't disappoint, our bartender Danielle was actually friendly attentive and social (haven't had that in a while). When I tell you everything we had was delicious from the seafood tour to the dessert. We had this Greek Sauvignon Blanc delish and her espresso martini perfection. I came with a party of 5, ordered a bunch of apps and we all shared. We started with the dips and the Greek salad. My friends and I have been on a spicy feta kick and this one did not disappoint. Not too spicy, very creamy, and served with beautiful pita bread. The Greek salad was so flavorful with lots of feta. They serve the halloumi with honey and candied lemon peels. An interesting twist that made my mouth happy. The zucchini chips changed many peoples perspectives on their opinion of the squash at the table. It was served with tzatziki and became a dish that made me look forward to my mother's next zucchini harvest next year. I know what we all will be attempting to make! We ended with the baklava which several people at the table claimed to be one of the best ones they have ever had. Incredible. Our experience at Kyma was absolutely wonderful. We came in for my birthday dinner and I genuinely can't speak highly enough about the experience that we had. The lobster pasta was extremely good and the appetizers that we had for the table as well as the dessert were all fabulous. Service could not have been better and we were treated extremely well. The ambience of the restaurant is quite loud and more of a party atmosphere but that's exactly what we were looking for and celebrating my birthday. I wouldn't suggest coming here if you're looking for a quiet intimate dinner as that's not really what Cama is about but if you're looking for a more lively experience, look no further because you found your spot. Honestly, this was a terrible experience. We had a 9:00 PM reservation for my sister's birthday celebration and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. What's the point of making a reservation if you're not going to honor it? It got worse when they sat our party of three at a table for two. We immediately said it wasn't okay..it was cramped and uncomfortable, especially being right by the kitchen with constant traffic. We didn't see any other party of three being sat at a two-top, which made it even more frustrating. We were also the only three Latinas there, and the whole situation didn't sit right with us. One manager told us he'd get us a table for four, so we waited another 30 minutes... for nothing. No update, no follow-through. Then when I spoke to another manager, he was rude and dismissive. He told us to "look around" because the place was packed and said he had nothing to do with the table situation. No apology, no effort to fix anything. At that point, we just left. The food, service and ambiance was top notch! So glad we found this restaurant, note Kyma also has a different location in Hudson Yards. First, we got a great recommendation from our server regarding the wine, and ended up getting a delicious Greek wine to pair with our meal. For apps, we ordered beets salad (which had pomegranate, and was so flavorful!), hummus dips, octopus, fried zucchini, and crab cakes. We could've skipped the hummus, that was not as impressive in flavor as the beets salad and the crab cakes, which were major highlights! I originally had a small engagement party here- paid for 9 people on a prefixed menu which beyond disgusting. What I hate the most is that no one (not event the ridiculous waiter) asked me why NO ONE ATE THE FOOD. Didn't even take it to go, never for the option. By far the worst experience- ambiance and vibe is fine but the food is not it. Additionally had the audacity to charge me a tip on the bill for a garbage pre-fixed menu, where the price per person wasn't it. I wish I could give less than 1 star. I came here for bottomless brunch and I feel like there are better alternatives in the city. The restaurant is super cute and adorable, service is good, but food is extremely mediocre. For bottomless, they offer mimosas, sangria and bloody mary's. Unfortunately, they didn't have bloody mary's when we went, but we got our fair share of mimosas and sangria. I like that this place makes it more champagne than orange juice. Same with the sangria in the sense that it's not as sweet as some other ones I've tried. In terms of the food, you can select any entrees in the bottomless deal except for 3 (salmon, steak, lamb chops), which you could get with an additional $7. We mostly all ordered the chicken skewers and beef burgers. While the food was aesthetically pleasing when it came out, it tasted very average. The chicken skewers were quite dry. The salad was good and the fries tasted normal. In terms of the burger, it was also okay. Overall, we came here because it accepted last minute reservations for bottomless brunch the day before for a large group. However, I don't think I would come back for brunch, but I'm hopeful that their dinner service could be better. read more

He got into the more popular music around 9:30/10ish! We all shared the beet salad, the 6 dips, the saganaki (which I was kind of sad it wasn't actually in flames), the Kyma chips (which came with the most delicious fried cheese cubes, the branzino, and the free range chicken! I probably could do without the chicken in the future as it was a little overcooked but the potatoes it came with were to tender and delicious and the rest of the meal was so good! The food came out so quickly and we were all stuffed by the time the entrees showed up. We also shared a pitcher of the dragon queen which didn't seem strong at all and then asked if we could get the kymatini as a pitcher and our waiter said yes! A much better choice and not as sweet. I didn't want a dessert necessarily but our waiter was so nice and brought out the baklava (which was one of the better baklavas I've had in my life) with sparklers to celebrate! The only issues we came into were that there was a long bathroom line with only 3 toilets. I had a wonderful time at Kyma and with it being my first time having Greek cuisine I thought I'd have a so so time. The waiters were very very accommodating and kind. Our table decided to do the $60 prefix meal which includes appetizer, main dish and dessert. I got the calamari, softest and crunchiest Ive had, and the fish with mash/asparagus. Both were seasoned generously, so it was a delightful taste. My friends had the lamb chop, shrimp risotto and steak w/fries which were praised just as much. The dessert was slightly underwhelming. I got yogurt which came with a berry paste & salted caramel. The sweetness aspect wasn't there for me personally. We also were able to taste the wine and they even gave our friend (who's bday we were celebrating) tequila and metaxa (brandy/wine) shots. The overall experience was an A-. A Disappointing and Deafening Experience I recently had the misfortune of dining at Kyma Flatiron and feel compelled to warn others about the multiple issues I encountered. What should have been an enjoyable lunch turned into a frustrating ordeal. The most egregious problem was the absolutely deafening volume of the DJ. It was so loud that having a basic conversation with my companions was virtually impossible. Out of curiosity, I measured the noise level using a decibel meter app, which showed an average of 94 dB with peaks reaching 103 dB - levels that actually violate local noise ordinances. A few people in our group had fortunately brought earplugs and resorted to wearing them DURING LUNCH. Let that sink in - we needed hearing protection to eat at a restaurant! It was actually louder than a Metallica concert I went to. The service was equally disappointing. When I requested a separate check since I wasn't drinking while others were, the waitress curtly informed me they "are not allowed" to provide separate checks. This inflexible policy seemed designed purely for the restaurant's convenience, not customer satisfaction. The kitchen proved just as rigid. I ordered lamb chops and asked to substitute the accompanying fries with rice - a simple request at most restaurants. Again, I was told they "aren't allowed" to make this basic accommodation. How difficult would it have been to put rice on my plate instead of fries? The waitress delivered this news with a noticeably snotty attitude that made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. As for the food itself, the lamb chops were acceptable in taste but laughably small in portion. I received just two tiny chops that barely constituted an appetizer, let alone a main course priced as one. It was the smallest lamb chop portion I've ever been served in a restaurant. Between the ear-splitting noise that required actual hearing protection during lunch, the inflexible policies, poor service with an attitude, and minuscule portions, I cannot recommend Kyma Flatiron to anyone. There are far better Greek restaurants in Manhattan that actually value their customers' experience, hearing health, and reasonable requests. Kyma may be the "it" place and the scene right now, maybe because they parade around with sparklers once or twice an hour, but if they treat customers this way, they will soon be gone. read more

Anniversary Dinner! My BF chose Kyma to celebrate our anniversary and boy oh boy.... Kyma was the perfect choice! We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday evening. Perfect timing to enjoy our meal prior to Kyma turning into more of a lively setting. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and shown to our table. Not only was it very expensive and we "each had to get an item that was not drinks", but our friend was very rudely asked to leave because he was targeted as a gay man.
