Great food and good service! One of my go to brunch spots in NYC. Very spacious and easy to make reservations on a weekend!

The Quick: Fantastic for a large group, they're so accommodating and have lots of yummy shareable plates. The mothers in our party were disappointed on Mother's Day. We were patient because it was Mother's Day but it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive at the table. And....the majority of us ordered the frittata special. About the frittata: it was smaller than airplane-size food and the salad was airplane style wilted. Where was the flavor?? A real hidden gem. Step off the curb and into a retreat. Filled with the sounds you'd expect at an upscale party yet comfortable having a conversation without yelling. Good flavors but expensive for what it is. We had reservations for 2 people at 6 on a Wednesday but we probably didn't need them. We sat on the outside patio that is covered. Started with the scarlet on Thompson drink which was a more aperol forward cocktail and tasty. We got the scallops and roasted baby eggplant to share. For the price the dishes were pretty small. You definitely won't leave feeling stuffed. That being said, the flavors in the scallop dish were sooo good. The pea puree on the bottom with the crunchy mushrooms was delicious. Could have used more of a hard sear on the scallops but they were well cooked. Baby eggplant had a good mix of textures and flavors and the spice on the eggplant was really good. Service was a little spotty and slow, especially for how empty the place was. Not sure I'd come back but was fine trying it. Seems like the have a good happy hour with a lot of their mezze dishes on the menu so maybe I'd try that. read more

This restaurant is very charming with a cute outdoor seating area and large indoor seating. All of the staff from the hostess to the waiter were extremely friendly and helpful. We started with the shishito peppers which is listed as a side dish but we got as a starter. My friend has a gluten allergy and they made us aware that there was some breading and they were able to sauté the peppers instead which was still delicious. The hostess had recommended the burratta bruschetta, phyllo rolls, and calamari but unfortunately we did not get them due to the gluten allergy. For entrees, I had the chicken shashlik and my friend had the watermelon and heirloom tomato salad with chicken. My meal was very good but my friends salad looked so delicious I was a little jealous! All in all, this place is great and I look forward to returning to try more items! read more

We've been visiting Pera Soho for about 10 years now and besides the food ambiance so glad the food has not changed. The country salad is my favorite along with the fries and Portuguese fried calamari which I only have from here not being a seafood consumer. On occasion, weekend brunch gets crowded but it's nice you can come have such a good meal in a nice setting without the loud crowd. My only message is, please keep the good taste & quality food rolling! While NYC has many spots, it's hard to find a place you love that is consistent. read more

(Overall: B) - Overall, I found the fine dining food here to be quite mid with lots of room for improvement. The staff were kind and attentive and the venue itself was quite nice to host large groups, but the food could be better. (Octopus: A) - Their octopus is a well composed dish with a tender octopus leg and smashed potatoes that are nicely seasoned to give a forward depth of flavor and to heighten the octopus. The greens also add some vibrant color to make this dish pop. (Steak Frites: C) - It was smart to use the bread as a canvas to catch the steak drippings and not let those juices go to waste. Unfortunately, the rest of the dish is sub par as the steak was cooked to at least medium well, becoming quite dry. Further, I would've likef to see more of those regional spices tossed in the fries to differentiate from just regular fries. The plating could also be improved as the fries completely dominate the first look of this dish. (Calamari: B) - The cherry peppers add a pleasant sweet spiciness to enhance the fried squid. Aside from the sloppy presentation, I think this is a well executed dish. (Dip Sampler: D) - Aside from the carrot ginger hummus which was quite innovative from those notes of sweetness from the carrot, this dish was quite discomforting. The beer botani somehow mimics pepto bismol in both color and consistency in the form of a dip -- yet, somehow I find consumig pepto bismol more pleasant. Pera is an amazing Mediterranean restaurant in a great SoHo location! It was easy to make a reservation and the staff was very welcoming. We were seated in a nice secluded area in the back, it felt like we had the restaurant all to ourselves! Service was very quick and they delivered our drinks and food in a timely manner. Each dish was better than the next! We started with the dip sampler which came with pita chips. Two of us shared the lamb sampler which came with grilled lamb pieces, 2 lamb chops, and a ground lamb kebab. The steak was great and the side of fries as well. Lastly, the salmon was cooked to perfection and was very flavorful. Overall Pera is a really great restaurant with quality food and service! Exisquite restaurant with incredible service. The minute you walk in, you are greeted and seated (with or without reservation based on availability). The waiters were so nice and accommodating. They checked in on me at least once every 15 minutes. Ambiance was really nice and floral. The outdoor patio seating was really nice as well! I started with the hummus and it was delicious. Could have used a bit more flavor/seasoning or even spice, but it was still good! For my entree, I got the "SIRLOIN "SHASHLIK" STEAK FRITES." It was so tasty and well cooked. First time here and right off the bat they said HH was till 5:30 and when I corrected that website says 6:30 they said oh yes that's right!!!!!!! They had plenty of empty tables but didn't seat me when I arrived 15 mins earlier but I'm assuming they just had people coming for 20 ish tables or so. The blood orange martini came highly recommended but sadly was very disappointing. It was a long awaited drink after a hard week and this just really did not hit the spot The whipped feta with candied walnuts - 5 stars! Lahmacun with the beef lamb thing - 4 stars Pepper cheese pide had to be sent back once because it was burnt - 3 stars when it came back The entrees were all 4 stars! My crispy mushroom gyro was a very hearty dish. I enjoyed eating it. Tbh I was extremely full after that! The chicken shashlik was very flavorful as well. The beef frites was good too! The food was good not amazing but we're generous portions. Service was nice! Got the kuhnefe as it's my fav dessert but I'll. Give it 3 stars only. I needed a tad more syrup and tad more cheese. Came here for brunch and was very underwhelmed, unfortunately. SHAKSHUKA Love a shakshuka in general but something was off. It was SUPER watery, and not savory enough, it wasn't that hot, and the cheese, while melted, had started to solidify again because it had either been left out too long and started to get cold, or was previously made and reheated but not enough. Overall very bland and unsatisfying. Also would have liked some bread to go with it. CHICKEN APPLE SAUSAGE - not bad, just fine. CAPPUCCINO - The fluffy foam and giant bubbles said it all. Not the best cappuccino. Coffee itself was standard quality. I tried some of the croissant french toast, which was flaky and sweet - nothing to write home about, but better than the shakshuka and not something you see on every menu. Pera Soho had a beautiful patio outside that had retractable awnings to keep the cold out. The inside was crowded with a busy happy hour so I am glad that we chose to seat out this evening. The inside is quaint and I am sure lovely if the bar area is not too busy. The service was excellent only visiting to make sure we were enjoying our meal and to see if we needed anything else. The food was enjoyable with many choices to satisfy the vegan, vegetarian or carnivores in your group. The photos are a little dark but the food was great. Stick with the savory dishes vs the chicken or the lamb and beef patties since they tended to be a little dry. Otherwise you should have a great meal. read more

Pera did a great job hosting my friend's outdoor birthday brunch. Staff was excellent and everything was tasty. I got the Acma, a Turkish, bagel sandwich and really enjoyed it. Bathroom was wheelchair accessible and the restaurant is accessible via a side entrance in the neighboring building. There is a beautiful heated outdoor garden. read more
