Had the chance to visit this place for a baby shower brunch. There was a very long table set up for all the guests and there was ample room to go around and meet everyone. Absolutely loved the ambiance on an early Sunday afternoon and the service was top notch. The various cocktails I tried: Pear Sangria, Soho Blossom and Spicy Cucumber Cooler. All were refreshing. We had a set menu for brunch, where I tried: - crisp pita chips with trio of dips (carrot ginger hummus, smoked eggplant with garlic yogurt, beet borani dip [had nice chunks of beets]) - purslane & frisée salad - shakshuka eggs - baklava with a cappuccino I absolutely love Mediterranean food and I enjoyed trying everything. The dips were a twist of authentic dishes: carrot hummus, eggplant but heavy on the yogurt, beets, I wasn't a huge fan. I enjoyed the cucumber salad and the brussel sprouts. Hosted a group dinner here. The room was set with a long table and the volume gets loud, so a bit hard to hear, but good energy. Staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks kept flowing and courses were nicely paced, even for our group of 30. Tuna tartare was my fave starter. I've come here a couple of times and had a great experience. The staff is helpful and on the ball. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but we sat inside. When we came it was pretty quiet so we were seated immediately. Recommend getting a reservation if you come in the summer cos they get pretty busy. We tried the sirloin shashlik, the salmon, the muhmaara and eggplant dips, and for dessert the kunefe and the chocolate mousse. Everything was excellently prepared and delectable- I would order all of these options again. I will say service was a little slow but that may have been since the place wasn't super full and there were less staff. However people seem to fill others shoes so we really didn't have much of an issue. The space outdoors looks like it's made for sharing - larger tables in the corners and some smaller ones in the middle. The inside has more seating for 2 and 4 people. Pera is such a beautiful restaurant with great ambiance and service. I came for happy hour on a Friday. All of the drinks we ordered were very strong, I really liked the margarita! The happy hour appetizers were great! Recommendations: margarita or the spritzer for drinks eggplant dip and the kofte meatball were my favorite appetizers. For entree, we got the cavatelli which was cooked to perfection. Great service here too! It was a little cold at our table with the draft, I'd recommend to grab a seat by the bar side of the restaurant, but other than that I had a great happy hour at Pera! read more

I visited this place during restaurant week and it did not disappoint! For $45, I think it was well worth the price. Though this place is very dim, the bar area is beautiful and the wine bottles along the walls add to the ambiance. The wait staff were also very friendly. The dips were all delicious, but I really liked the beet one. The calamari came with peppers and sausage, which was unique and I really enjoyed it. But the short ribs? Amazing! So tender and having them paired with that delicious polenta and pear slices was next level. And I couldn't get enough of the cucumber cocktail! Cool and refreshing but the spice made it stand out. I went to Pera during happy hour and it was wonderful! Cocktails are $10 and you can get 2 appetizers for $10. The most popular appetizers I saw others getting were the fries and the pita chips/ hummus! I highly recommend sitting outside if the weather's warm since the outdoor area is a great vibe. We were able to still since, the area was covered. I ordered the Kofte meatballs, croissant french toast, & the apricot margarita. The meatballs were the best part of the meal. The only down sides are the crowd: in their mid- or late-20's, these whipper snappers can be loud and extra. Do you even lift before going to Pera, bro? Pera is a little hidden towards the end of the street, but once you find it you'll be amazed by the setup. The outside is beautifully done like a little garden with hanging lights, bright yellow furniture, and greenery against the walls. It gives a welcoming and cozy vibe. Head inside for a more formal dining experience with dim lighting, a wall of wine bottles that add a nice touch to the decor, and seating ranging from individual tables to booth style seats. They have ample space to cover large groups from the outdoor setup to bar seating to two other separate areas for formal dining. The lights can almost be a bit too dim to read the menus. We asked our server for suggestions on vegetarian options and finally settled on a few items to share. The dip assortment with pita chips, kale gnocchi, herbed fries, and burrata. We also got the kunefe dessert. Between two people this was plenty of food to share and we had a little bit leftover. The dip assortment is a good way to try a few items. I really liked the two white color dips as they had dill or some other tanginess to them. The hummus dip was decent. The fourth dip (brown color) we didn't really care for. Although the presentation was lovely, the burrata lacked flavor. Felt like it needed some salt? I wouldn't get this again. Kale gnocchi was good, but very heavy. This is probably why we weren't hungry after! Loved the herbed fries & ketchup! Actually dipped some in the dip assortment we ordered too. The real winner in this whole meal was the dessert. It didn't look pretty, but it tasted so good! The Kunefe can be heavy too since its a cheese based dessert with honey, but nonetheless delicious! They had other options like baklava and an assortment of ice cream, but the Kunefe is definitely more unique. The later it gets, the louder the place gets. I don't know why women out with their girlfriends have to scream when they are sitting right next to each other. I'd say if you're looking for a quieter Saturday 'date night' experience go a bit earlier (between 6-8:30pm). I did like that the restaurant was not rushing us out. Perhaps because they have plenty of seating space, they can accommodate. Reservations were easy to make the night before through Opentable. They have restrooms and the outdoor seating looks like it may be easy to accommodate for wheelchairs or strollers. Overall, might be a good spot for a happy hour or early dinner. Get the herbed fries and if there's room for dessert, the Kunefe is it! read more

The service was prompt, gracious and accommodating. We also loved the ambiance, even though we had to use the flashlight feature on our iPhones to read the menu. It would be nice if the menu could be printed with a larger, darker font. We appreciated the availability of 'Mocktails' but they needed more flavor to fit the menu description. Mine didn't have a Rosemary flavor or even a sprig, and my guest's 'Mule' just tasted like ginger ale lacking the spices described on the menu. The entire staff is so very welcoming and the ambiance is absolutely beautifully decorated with lights. We just sat at the bar for Happy Hour and they had plenty of options. I had a vodka martini, (not on the HH menu) but worth every penny. Delicious. My girlfriend had the Bloody Orange Martini. She loved it so much she had three of them. Cheers to Brunch On A Saturday! My friend and I came for brunch over the weekend. We had made a reservation via OpenTable which allows you to specify indoor or outdoor dining. We went with indoor. Once checked in with the host we were shown to our indoor table. Tables do have partitions between them and doors are open allowing a consistent flow of air. Our menus were given to us by the host with our waiter coming over shortly there after. He wasn't memorable, could've been friendlier and more attentive. We started with our drink choices then attempted to add on a few apps but the waiter insisted on us ordering our apps and entree together so that's what we did. I had a Bellini and a Turkish Apricot Margarita (both were good but I definitely preferred the Margarita being that it was a tad bit stronger). As appetizers we shared the calamari (very tasty, seasoned well with the perfect amount of crisp) and the Chicken Apple sausage (this was the star of brunch! Well done, not chewy and full of flavor). Here's where the problem lies... we both ordered Steak & Eggs. Mine medium well and my friends well done. The server brings out our steaks (which are shish kebob style on a stick) and says they're both the same temperature as he's placing the plate down. So I asked what temperature is that? Mine should be medium well and hers well done. He says well done. So he takes my plate back. Within 5mins he was back (there's no way you've corrected the problem in 5mins) with my plate, the steak no longer on a stick. After cutting into it I realized it's clearly the same steak but at this point I wasn't going to send it back again so I ate it. As my friend starts making her way thru her steak we realize the server gave her my medium well steak from the beginning (which wasn't obvious until she was halfway thru the kebob). Not once did the waiter come over to check on us. Had he I certainly would've said something. We paid our bills then left. read more

This was absolutely fabulous! I loved the appetizers, the mains, the drinks, the dessert - everything was super flavorful! My favorite was definitely the cucumber cocktail and the pistachio baklava. The cucumber cocktail was very refreshing and quite strong (but not too overpowering in terms of alcohol). The salmon was very well cooked and I loved the grapes - the sweetest of the grapes complimented well with the salmon and yogurt sauce. The pistachio baklava was amazing! You can really taste the pistachio and overall it wasn't too sweet. The appetizers were also perfect portion sizes to snack on before the entree and everything was pretty vegetarian friendly.
