The food is lovely. Fortunately they don't overcook things like in Greece. The lamb was lovely.

I definitely recommend the octopodi sharas, it was delicious and flavorful. The fish for two was also fantastic and came with nicely lemon potatoes and broccolini. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Restaurant also looked nice inside with florals.

Sipping an iced skim latte inside Eleni's is relaxing. There are two small round rattan black and white checked tabes each with two chairs. Counter seating facing the street has stools. Mithos, the cafe donkey, who wears a straw hat and the unnamed pelican keep me company. Valerie was the barrista who made my coffee and is a friendly person. Here there is a recharge machine for four iPhones at the entrance. I have not seen this anywhere as I don't charge my phone outside. Jams, oils, chocolates, juices, bottled water, ice cream pints made in-house, spices, pastas, Digestive biscuits, freshly made pastries are all available here. Outdoor seating is also popular with customers.

Stumbled upon this place looking for a quick drink and light bites. We ordered a dip platter which normally comes with pita bread. Given my allergy, I asked him if I could have cucumber as well, so that my friend could have the bread and I could have a cucumber. They said that was no problem, but they would have to charge extra for cucumber. I've been to a few Greek restaurants now and that was probably the first time I've been told they are going to have to charge me extra for cucumber to accommodate my allergy. Then on top of that, the dip came and there was no cucumber - they seemingly forgot about it because it took me a while to get them. The restaurant itself seemed to be very popular in the area as it was crowded. The tequila drink that I had was good. It felt like I was on a Greek island drinking it. The bartender was very friendly. I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to go back.

We came here for a work dinner. The place itself is pretty small but very cute and really tries to give off the vibes in Greece. The menu itself was fairly large and there is definitely something for everyone. I would recommend making a reservation because it was fairly packed on a Tuesday afternoon! They have some bigger seating in the back so definitely able to have large groups here. The one downside is that they only have one bathroom which was fairly cramped and small. The food was really good though. -Imam: So delicious, the eggplant was so flavorful and went so well with the cheese -Octopodi Sharas: A table favorite - the octopus was so nicely roasted and the texture was so delicious -Calamari: Very basic but also very good -Garides Sharas: the shrimp was so tender and the flavors were amazing -Paidakia (Lamb Chops): I choose the lamb chops for my main meal and it was delicious Super tender and not tough at all. -Galaktompouriko: Highly recommend this dessert; so delicious and creamy Overall -- great vibes and great food; highly recommend coming here!!

We stepped into Eleni's in a cold December evening when our usual Greek place in East Village area was closed for some unknown reason. I didn't want any other cuisine but Greek, so after some search on Yelp, found that Eleni's wasn't too far and the prices were reasonable. The decor made you feel like you are in Greece in the middle of summer. A good place fora date, but the tables are pretty close together like most East Village places. We ordered quite a bit since it's a new place and wanted to taste variety of dishes. I would say that this isn't a a place known for seafood. I didn't try any meat dishes, so I'm not sure if that's their thing. However, the octopus dish was quite nice. Tender and flavorful. We also ordered variety of dips, there are 5 different kinds. They were good but I wasn't too crazy about their pita bread. It was too doughy and soft for dipping. I personally like a bit of crunch and soft in the middle kind of texture. The horiatiki salad is nice but not as plentiful as my go-to Greek restaurant. The most disappointing item was the spanakopita. They were little triangular shapes, like the frozen spinach pies you get from Whole Foods. There was just not enough spinach and feta. The other Greek restaurant serves a slab of pie full of cheese and spinach within layers of phyllo. We also ordered a shrimp dish in tomato sauce. The sauce was lovely. Wish I had some rice with it as I was getting tired of the pita bread. I have to say, they do give you plenty of pita bread. Service was lovely as was the ambience. However, for good Greek seafood, I will stick with my old haunt.

Great Greek restaurant. Decor is beautiful. Server was attentive and not overbearing. The food was out of this world! The lamb shank and octopus are not to be missed!

Service was excellent: very attentive and polished throughout. I also had to push my reservation back by about 30 minutes, and they were very accommodating, which I appreciated. The food was a bit mixed but overall enjoyable. The Aperol spritz was slightly lackluster, though still perfectly drinkable. The brizola had good flavor, but came out more cooked than the medium rare I ordered. The standout was definitely the dolmathes avgolemono, which had a really flavorful filling and a delicious sauce that brought the whole dish together.

Kiki's has been on my list since I moved to NYC ~5 years ago and it was finally time to try it out!…read moreI went with a group of 4 on a Friday around 6:45pm. Unsurprisingly, there was a long line to put down our names on that gloriously warm and sunny spring evening. We were told the wait time was 1-1.5 hours which honestly went by so fast because there are so many fun places around the area. We got our table at around 8pm in the restaurant area right across the street. I can definitely see the timeless appeal of this place-- the vibes are so fun, the energy is young and vibrant, lights are dim, the music is loud, the smell of sizzling grilled meats and fries fills the space -- all of this hidden behind the facade of a printshop in Chinatown. It's a one-of-a-kind place. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We shared: - bottle of orange wine: very generously priced which we easily split amongst us 4. The wine was bright, refreshing and had a lot of body. - dips: we ordered the tzaitziki and the fava bean dip. They accidentally gave us the tirokafteri (or spicy feta) initially which was ironically my favorite dip out of the ones we tried, with the perfect creamy and spicy balance. The tzaitziki was also delicious, refreshing, and cool. The fava bean dip eventually came and it was a bit flat in flavor and texture compared to the other two. It tasted like blended fava beans with some capers on top and no other flavor elements. It was also a bit dry and I was expecting a texture more similar to hummus. The dips came with very delicious pita/regular bread and we also asked for cucumber slices for our gluten free friend (didn't know this was an option but cool!). - octopus: pretty small portion for 4 people but amazing! The octopus was super tender and flavorful. Considering how busy this place is, I was surprised at how well made this was. They have the dish mastered. Highly recommend! Would order again. - gigante beans: tomato bean stew, pretty good and filling! Good to share if you want something a bit more hearty and warm. Also gluten free! Perfect for colder months. - saganaki: I think I would come back exclusively for this alone. It's the perfect dish: the salty and melty cheese is packed inside layers of crispy, flaky, buttery phyllo, with sweet honey on top. This had the perfect balance of flavors and textures. I would order one for myself next time. Definitely a crowd favorite. - mixed grill: the menu said this was for 3 but it was actually a very generous portion for us 4. Delicious meats: it had lamb chops, some chicken and pork souvlaki, Greek sausage, and ground beef patties, all over a bed of well seasoned fries and pita. Truly a stellar dish. Perfect to share and super satisfying. - desserts: we tried the baklava and cheesecake. The baklava came completely without structure and was not that good (too heavy on the cinnamon for my taste and not enough filling), however the cheesecake was rich and creamy with a tangy flavor that perfectly balanced the sweet strawberries and delicious crust! Very well made. My major critique is that the service was quite disappointing. I felt like our waitress was not very kind/ helpful/ was annoyed at us perpetually for no good reason. Additionally, items in our order were messed up or came out too late (which is usually acceptable because we all make mistakes but flagging down anyone for help was virtually impossible). Ultimately, I would probably come again with a group of young people because the food was so good and affordable. The vibe is also pretty unique. However, Kiki's could certainly benefit from polishing its service a bit/ hiring more staff so there is enough attention to customers. While they understandably manage tremendous volumes of people, especially over weekends, that should not come at the expense of the customer experience.

It doesn't matter if you're getting a horatiki salad, pikilia, souvlaki of any kind, or a piece of salmon. The pita is bad, but everything else is just fine. Then you'll get the bill and ask yourself how you just dropped $250+. $18 for two pieces of halloumi? A 25% tip? And why does my stomach hurt? The servers are kind enough. The hosts are oblivious. Maybe you'll be blessed with a table by the bathroom or a door tonight? Maybe you'll get your delivery within the next hour? Do not ever order delivery from here. Ignore the delay for a moment. Everyone makes slips. $80+ got us 1) a chicken platter 2) two small soggy slices of halloumi 3) a salad with a single lukewarm chicken kebab on the side. The food was fatty, greasy, cold, and looked like it had been leftover and reheated from someone else's plate. Perhaps the delivery kitchen is different than the dine-in one? We were starving, so please pray for us - hopefully no one starts feeling sick tonight. Yasouvlaki is an awesome place to take your parents visiting from the suburbs or another state.
