I don't know about the rest of you, but I am so over NYC restaurants that require a 2-3 month strategic military operation just to get a reservation. I love good food and great drinks as much as the next person, but sometimes friends show up last-minute and I need somewhere impressive so my city doesn't embarrass me. Enter: Molyvos. I found it on Resy, and honestly my only criteria at the moment was "near Javitts," because that's where my friends were. Expectations were low; vibes were unknown. And then...I walked in. Instantly obsessed. Cute-yet-classy interiors, warm smiles everywhere, seated immediately--already winning. Their Greek wine and cocktail list? Perfectly balanced. Not overwhelming, not "I need a sommelier, a therapist, and a spreadsheet." Just right. Food selection? Also on point. They even asked if we had a show to catch--meaning they can pick up the pace if needed. We didn't; we were there to gossip. They let us linger without even the tiniest hint of a rush. Bless. We started with the three-spread sampler: classic hummus, skordalia, and tirokafteri. Three words: Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. They kept the warm pita and bread flowing--soft inside, crusty outside--truly elite carbs. And that olive oil in the monogrammed bottle? Chef's kiss. We tried the octopus and the halloumi. Halloumi came out flaming (literally), full drama, loved it. The octopus... listen, I've had better. The components just didn't vibe together. It happens. I ordered the lamb chops (medium) and they came with potatoes done so perfectly that I almost shed a tear. Call me a snob, but I judge a restaurant by how they handle basics like eggs and potatoes. If you can't do those right... questionable. But these? Highly recommend. Dessert time. We lost control and ordered the baklava, the sundae, the ravani, and the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake? Pure sinful joy. The ravani had me Googling flights to Greece. The sundae was fine--just a bit too sweet for me--so probably a "been there, done that." Everything else? Top notch. Drinks: I had the Kolonaki--wish it were a touch less sweet, but still very good (I'm just picky). Then switched to the driest Greek red they had. Don't ask me which; I put my faith in our lovely server and she delivered. Will I go back? Absolutely, 100%, without hesitation. Fancy but homey, elevated but not pretentious--NYC needs more places like this.

I had high hopes for this place based on the yelp reviews. Unfortunately i was very disappointed. On the plus side the place is very lovely and tables are spread nicely apart. We had a great table by the window. Service was perfectly for though i had to flag someone down for more water twice. The real problem here is that the food we had was extremely overpriced and just plain boring. I had the lemon chicken, hubby had the cod and we shared a basic greek salad. The salad was enough for two but way overpriced at $22. The chicken, also very overpriced for a pretty small piece and just boring as hell. Hubby's cod was a tiny serving. Overall the food let us down here, especially for the relatively high prices. We will definitely not be back.

On a recent trip to NYC, my wife and I met up with our two nieces who live on Long Island. They came into the city, and I offered to take them out to dinner. Someone suggested Greek food, and my search led me to Molyvos. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with a touch of European charm that made it feel like an oasis away from the chaos of Times Square (just a few blocks away). We ordered a few drinks and shared a delicious Greek spread that hit the spot. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The warm hospitality stood out, and the service was attentive without being rushed. We capped the meal with their baklava, which didn't disappoint with a rich, layered, and bursting with flavor meal ender. Overall, this is a fantastic spot if you're craving classic Greek flavors in a welcoming setting. Definitely recommended!

This is a nice spot with good service and decent food, The food was perfectly fine, but it didn't quite live up to the premium price point. "Wow" factor was missing. Still a solid place to visit. May be it was the day and time we visited!

There are much better options for Greek/mediterranean. The dips were a bit sloppy and the pita was stale. The lamb chops were pretty tasty and tender but 1/3 was overcooked. Just go to AVRA.

So great for a pre-theatre lunch! Our food came out fast and it was great. I love that they start with a bread basket. They know how to serve tea too! We ordered the same tea, but each got our own pot. The entree salad is so large, we went with the appetizer size and added grilled shrimp. The gyro sliders are served open faced and with fries. This was more than enough for the 2 of us. We still ordered the yogurt dessert- delicious strawberry and pistachio. [The only thing missing is Dubai chocolate:)) There is a patio, but we sat inside. The music is at the perfect volume. At lunchtime it wasn't too busy. The service was impeccable.

Sitting on the edge of the Times Square / Theatre district area and into Hells Kitchen, Molyvos is a gem focusing on Greek cuisine that covers some amazing flavours paired with strong service to go with it. Taste: 4/5 Service: 5/5 - there is a lady there who is an absolute gem, we were trying to make our movie on time and she made sure our food got out promptly Ambiance: 4.5/5 Value for Money: 4/5 We had: 1) Complimentary bread: The pita was not bad, what seemed like an olive/pumpernickel bread was great 2) flamed halloumi cheese: very fun presentation and quite tasty 3) Grilled octopus: tasty and expected 4) cateloni: this was okay not bad 5) moline meatballs: not bad as well

Wonderful meal with wonderful server Despina!! I loved how attentive and kind she was. I felt like she was my sweet aunt or grandma and I was visiting her home. She was adorable and I love all of her Pride pins This meal was delicious. For appetizers we had grilled octopus, fried calamari and hummus and pita. Everything was cooked perfectly. My lamb shank with orzo in a spiced tomato sauce was unbelievable. The meat fell right off the bone and it was spiced so so deliciously. Baklava for dessert was super. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

I went to Molyvos to meet a friend for drinks. I can't speak for the food, but the cocktails were fantastic! The bar was also not crowded and you could watch them make the cocktails in front of you! The ambiance was very cozy and the food looked great, I'll have to come again to try it!

Delicious Greek fare! Everything I tried was fresh and delicious. Especially the dolmades. And the service was fantastic - welcoming, attentive, and they even fire up the saganaki tableside for a little show. Given the proximity to broadway, I'll definitely be back before my next show.

My first foray into Albanian food and was so surprised by how different it was from Greek food. It was amazing, but perhaps not my favorite cuisine though I am eager to come back and try more. From start to finish everything missed the mark: The hummus was bland and tasted like someone forgot the spices. The doma (dolmas) were disappointing and didn't have the rich flavor they should. Even the baklava, which should be a sweet highlight, was dry, lackluster, and honestly not enjoyable. The Turkish coffee was so bitter it was almost undrinkable -- if you like bitter coffee, maybe it's your thing, but it wasn't what I expected. They market themselves as Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine, but what I ate didn't come close to what I'd consider good food in that category. My stomach was still growling afterward -- and not in a "I want more" way, but in a "why did I eat this?" way. The staff and service were fine and the atmosphere is pretty, but at the end of the day it's just not worth it when the food itself is so underwhelming. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or tasty Turkish/Middle Eastern food.

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out. The service is great, everyone is super attentive and you can really feel that the food with made with love. So glad I tried this place and I'll be back to give their dolmeh and dessert a taste!
