Went for NYC restaurant and had an amazing 3 course dinner for $45. Two of us shared crispy artichoke, Italian salad, sea bream, pork shank, olive oil cake and chocolate panna cotta. Everything tasted great. Seating was a little tight and drafty. But would go back to try regular menu.

Wow. We were blown away by the food here. Every bite was more delicious than the last. It was hard to decide on a favorite with every morsel so full of flavor. The Focaccia had figs and rosemary and was the perfect amount of both softness and crispiness. The pizzas are fresh made to order and the quality shows, it was soft and the dough was so tasty. The crispy artichokes with the garlic aioli are a must. We also really enjoyed the cacio e pepe arancini, they were so tasty. The sea breem was cooked perfectly with a crispy skin that was packed with flavor. Service is excellent. We had such a wonderful, fun experience. Everyone was attentive. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. We will definitely be back as this spot has now become one of our regulars! Food tips: really can't go wrong with anything here but to narrow down a few must tries - crispy artichokes, Focaccia, pizza.

Excellent summer 2025 restaurant week menu! Highlights: whipped ricotta, chickpea salad, paccheri, campanelle, sea bream They even had great deals on house cocktails ($12 I believe) and $35-40ish bottles of house-pick wine

I was wholly impressed with Vallata. I booked a table for an early dinner on my birthday. From the moment we arrived I was greeted so warmly and wished happy birthday by numerous employees. We had a nice table tucked in to a corner where we had a view of the kitchen and could sit next to each other on the bench seat. Our primary server, Luis, was helpful and lovely. I was impressed with the way the whole staff seemed to work together to serve, bus tables, ask if we needed anything and talk with us. I really have to say the service was superb. Shoutout to Chris who not only tended bar but worked the floor and to the lovely hostess whose name I wish I had gotten. But really the whole staff was just A+++. We shared the crispy artichokes (outstanding) and the cacio e Pepe arancini (where the fried parsley was especially unique and delicious) to start. I had the eggplant parmesan which reminded me of an eggplant dish I had in Venice -- but better. My husband had the ricotta cavatelli which was also great. For dessert I had the olive oil cake accompanied by lemon curd and --wait for it -- rosemary gelato. I was skeptical about this gelato, but it turned out to be a wonderfully fantastic surprise! My husband had the Apple Crostata which was also fantastic. The limoncello was a perfect way to end the meal. I was told by my husband that I can't shave off a star for Chef Tom not being there himself. So, I won't. Fair enough. But I'm still hoping I catch him another time.

Sardinian Sour. $18. Not really sour or amaro focused for a negroni. Wouldn't recommend

I went to this new Italian restaurant by Tom Colicchio recently with a group. The staff was friendly though it took a while to bring out a second dish for a few folks who ordered late so they brought out an extra thing of their focaccia which was very nice of them. The place does not look too big from the outside but the inside has ample space and they have a nice open kitchen in back. They have a nice special called the Pasta e Vino consisting of your choice of one of their pastas with a glass of wine for $33 which is a nice deal outside of the bucatini cacio e pepe as the rest of the pastas are in the upper 20s which everyone else went with which was a choice of a red blend or a lighter sweeter white I believe for that night. I decided to get a cocktail instead regrettably and went with the Sardinian Sour for $18 from their amaro section with Nonino, myrto, lemon, and egg white. Amaro Nonino is one of my favorite amari as it has a light bitter orange bitterness with a touch of sweetness but I really couldn't taste much of that here as oddly the cocktail was sweet. I'm not sure if it was the combination of the amaro and the egg white but for a sour cocktail, it was more on the sweet end and not really a negroni nor that much balanced. It was tasty but not what I expected at all and I wouldn't bother next time with a cocktail and go with their deal. I split otherwise two bowls of pasta with someone else. Better of the two (though with a much worse photo) was the Ricotta Cavatelli with short rib, pine nuts, and raisins for $29. This had stronger flavors and a good amount of the very tender short rib. There was occasional crunch from the pine nuts and the raisins added a bit of sweetness. The only other time I've seen raisins in a pasta dish was at Norma Cucina Siciliana so it was interesting seeing this here. The pasta as with the other pasta was cooked properly al dente with a little bit of a bite. The other pasta was the Espresso Tagliatelle with lamb sugo, tomato, and mint for the same price $29. The pasta had good texture and had a faint maybe slightly bitter taste from the espresso which was unique. Again, there was plenty of meat (in this case the lamb sugo/sauce) and the little bits of fried mint were novel as well. This was also a tasty dish though as I like stronger flavors, I preferred the Cavatelli but both had their own merits with this being more unique by comparison with the mint and espresso. I got a side of the Broccoli Di Ciccio for $16 with garlic confit, chili, and lemon which was very tasty. The broccoli was grilled almost to the point of charring which is definitely my preference for both texture and flavor. The garlic flavor was quite strong and delicious and there was a little bite from the chili. This was a tasty side dish and I would recommend it to share. Someone ordered the Rosemary & Olive Oil Focaccia with Balsamic for $7 which is also available with some toppings for $5 extra. As noted above, they eventually brought out some extra and I had a piece and the focaccia was very good being not to oily with a fluffy texture and I think it came with three pieces. One other person had the Mafaldine with mushrooms & brown butter (for the same $29 price tag) which they said was outstanding and other people enjoyed their pasta from the Paccheri to the aforementioned Bucatini Cacio e Pepe. No one bothered with a secondi instead and no one got dessert though the plum crostata looks good. This is a pretty solid pasta place with a good wine and dine deal. They give enough meat to at least partially justify the price point and the pasta was cooked properly. The side dish was excellent as well. The only thing that was really at fault was the cocktail which was neither sour nor a negroni in any shape or form but at least it was tasty. Low but solid 4.

Went here on a referral & It was restaurant week. 10/10 on everything!!! Pants was fresh hot and delicious, drink were made by mixologist!!!! Service was super attentive and not over touchy at the table. I do wish there was a protein for the cacio pipe. I did stel some fennel sausage from my Date. And It was absolutely amazing! Only thing I wasn't expecting was the spicy aftertaste on the strawberry Gelato Can't wait to come back here. Ps they have a dope happy hour $12 spritzes, negronis, martinis & manhattans $10 glasses of regional Italian wine accompanied by chef's choice bar snacks. Happy drinking!!!!!!

Happy to say we really enjoyed our dinner here. We had a reservation for restaurant week at the bar. When we arrived, the host gave us a bar or table option - we stuck to the bar... glad we did! Bartender was great. No fuss, really cool, but of character, involved in our night but just the perfect amount. Good was delicious!!! So many options on the restaurant week menu, almost feels as if they offered the whole menu? Loved everything we got. Drinks were great too - if you like a Negroni, try the barrel aged Negroni on the menu. We'll be back - great little spot.

I came here for NYC Restaurant Week 2024 dinner, and it later turned into a work reunion of former colleagues. It was great catching up, and the ambiance is very welcoming. There was a slight hiccup when checking in because, as I was enjoying my Occhi Vivaci spritz, I got two missed calls from the restaurant asking if I was I coming, lol. After that was resolved, the service from the staff was great, accommodating and knowledgeable. We all ordered from the restaurant week menu, and everything tasted awesome. They also had a wine special for $35 a bottle, and the red wine was so good. We started out with the cauliflower and olive focaccia. The focaccia was definitely fresh and so good, especially paired with the drinks ordered. For appetizers, we ordered the brussel sprouts with mint, lemon, and pecorino. The dish was refreshing as combined flavors and crunchy texture of the Brussel sprouts were perfectly balanced. The chickpea salad and soup (not pictured) were also ordered, and they enjoyed both items. For the main entrées, we ordered the skirt steak, cod, lamb, and personally skate. Everyone enjoyed their dishes paired with their red wine. Personally, my dish was small but very buttery and flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the cannoli bombolone and ricotta cheesecake. We all devoured our dessert, which masked the amount of red wine consumption. I will definitely return to this spot, especially for their pasta and wine special.

Another Tom Colicchio establishment and it did not disappointment. We came here with kids for weekend brunch, it's $45 for two cocktails and two courses, an amazing deal on the city right now when anywhere reputable cocktail would start at $20. They were able to make some delicious kids pastas, one in pomodoro sauce, one in butter sauce. Our kids devoured their pastas, and I personally thought it was yummy enough to be adult pasta. Our two entree pasta dishes were very well cooked, flavor was great, but I personally wish it were a little more al dente. Service was attentive and warm. Decor is beautiful. Bathroom is spacious and clean. This is a slam dunk for lunch.

02/28/23: This spot has been in my collection and my Seated List. Cute and cozy Italian restaurant. Greeted warmly and seated immediately. Plenty of seating available however within about 15 mins it started to be busy. Would recommend reservations. Our server Stephani was amazing. She was extremely friendly and highly knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Drinks: I had a cosmo very yummy and strong. My friend had a Spaghetti Western.. very strong and spirit forward. Appetizers: Chickpea Salad with squid, shrimp and octopus not a fan of chickpeas but Stephani made it sound so inviting. Indeed it was, fresh seafood and it had a kick to it. Would have preferred it on mixed greens. Arancini, basically fried rice balls with a spicy to tomato sauce. Also very yummy. Mains: Malfadine with short ribs: yummy, good portion. Unfortunately it was very salty I tried to get through because it was so good. Couldn't do it I had them redo and it great. My friend had the steak..it was a bit on the rare side we sent it back and it came back how she liked it. One negative just having a steak with no sides and when asked for sides it was an additional cost. Dessert We shared a scoop of homemade passionfruit gelato.. deliciousness. All in all enjoyable dinner.

Fun and kind service from the minute we stepped inside. Not too busy (which we like and appreciate) so we could hear each other talk :) the food was delicious!! Every bite was better than the next! Both pastas we got were cooked perfectly and flavored impeccably. Their $33 pasta and wine combo is a steal! Will definitely be back! Thanks for such a wonderful, yummy evening!

My wife and I are big fans of Top Chef so we were really looking forward to dining at Tom Colicchio's Italian restaurant in Gramercy. We dined here with my daughter for Brunch on a Saturday just before Christmas and had a great experience! The restaurant is small and beautifully decorated. The service was excellent...attentive, and we weren't rushed at all. From our drinks to kick the meal off (the Bloody V was great), to the focaccia appetizer, to the entrees, all 3 of us loved the experience. Our entrée's included Lumache Bolognese, Fried Egg, Pancetta and Fontina on Ciabatta, and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. I had the lumache and thought it was fantastic, the bolognese was so good! I also had a taste of my wife's pancakes and thought they had a fantastic lemon flavor. If you're in the area, looking for a great meal, give Valatta a try! We didn't meet him, but our server said Tom is frequently there, so maybe you'll meet him!

The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.

It was busy so things might get a bit delayed but the staff was nice. We ordered a bunch of cocktails. The Exile- This is a sweet and refreshing drink with raspberries, strawberries, vodka, and finished with greek mastiha mint. Secret Knock- This is a smoky drink with a bit of a bite. You get peach liqueur with cinnamon smoke, bitters, and yellowstone bourbon. Robbie's Reverie- This starts with violet gin, lemon, rhubarb, and tonic. Strong and citrusy. Devil's Kiss- You start with tempranillo, a little bit of strawberry apertif and orange liqueur, Finished with blackcurrant and brandy. Fruity with a kick. Great experience overall!

The Spanish charred octopus was my personal favorite so tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The limone pasta was also so good, bright and comforting with just the right amount of citrus. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience with standout dishes throughout.

Classy interior, with mood lighting, and a few different nooks around the restaurant which insulates noise well. We had the Turkish Simit with Feta Butter, Crispy Calamari, Gem Lettuce Salad, Octopus, Pesto Cavatelli, and Chocolate Mousse. I love Turkish simit, and this was tasty, but it should really be served with two breads given the large quantity of feta. The calamari was a big portion and seasoned well with a wonderful fry on them, Salad was refreshing and the octopus dish was awesome. The pesto cavatelli has a lot of buzz, but it was just ok to me, the pesto was missing something. Can't go wrong finishing with the chocolate mousse, we were stuffed by the end of the meal and we didn't even order any mains. Turkish Simit 5/5 Calamari 5/5 Charred Spanish Octopus 5/5 Gem Lettuce Salad 4/5 Cavatelli con Pesto Genovese 3/5 Dark Chocolate Mousse 5/5
