This review is LONG OVERDUE! I was introduced to this dental office because my dentist sold his practice to them several years ago at this point. At the time, I was happy that they kept my hygienist, Lillian, but with time things changed for the WORSE! I didn't want to change offices because I had grown accustomed to that particular office space. That was my bad!
Patients BEWARE! This dental practice consistently over sells their treatments! At first it was fluoride treatments, which I kept telling them I was allergic to fluoride, but it didn't matter, they kept pushing! These treatments gave me a migraine headache and stomach discomfort. It took me a couple of days to get over it. These treatments made my teeth overly sensitive to cold water and sugar and they should have stopped insisting on them, but they didn't!
What really pushed me over the edge is when they WENT OVERBOARD by injecting my mouth with 12 injections of their gum antibiotic treatments that they pushed on me without realizing how many they were going to inject! I was switching jobs and getting new insurance. They decided to take advantage of that by overly injecting my gums with this treatment, even though I told them I was already on antibiotics and didn't need it! I should have been more forceful in my "no," but I stupidly trusted them! Plus, I misunderstood how many injections I was going to receive. I thought it was only going to be 4 (1 for each area of my mouth)!
I called the company that sells that drug to inquire what's the normal dosage? They told me 4 injections were recommended. They were surprised at the quantity of injections! I should have sued this office for malpractice when I had the chance! The drug company refused to confirm/deny that 12 injections was too much, but my lawyer said to wait a year before I did anything.
By injecting my mouth with so many injections at one time, when I got home, I almost passed out! What's worse Dr. Sethi (male dentist) didn't check on me after the injections on the day I was injected. He conveniently made me wait two days without seeing me and had me return to the office to finish my appointment! It was part of my 6 month checkup! Why on earth would I have to return? He should have checked on me! Again, i should have sued them!
I had a sinus infection prior to this 6 month check up. I was already on antibiotics and I told them. (I hate antibiotics in the first place!) I ended up with having take another 2 weeks of my amoxicillin prescription! The antibiotic gum injections erased the efficacy of my medication! This was confirmed by my pharmacist! They should have known that and not given me those injections in the first place! I WAS LIVID and felt STUPID for trusting them!
Besides, the over selling, they insist on using cold water for morning cleanings. I should have quit them long before the injection scenario! I started dreading my dental appointments!
Lastly, although I know it's been almost 2 years since all this happened, I am still not over how I let these dentists take advantage of me! I waited a year at first because I was instructed to do so by my lawyer. After that year passed, I didn't have the time to deal with my grievance. I couldn't write anything negative because I was going to take them to court, but now it's too late. I can now warn patients to think twice before going to this office!
I'm beyond happy with my new dentist Dr. Napolitano, who is right next door! Night and day difference in patient care! It's when i switched dentists that I realized I was being scammed! Dr. Sethi had me convinced I was being overly sensitive! BS!
There are better dental practices out there! It's worth it to seek them out. I should have quit them sooner, but better late than never! read more
