Unprofessional and will not come back again. I scheduled an appointment for a filling a week in advance. I showed up for my appointment and Dr. Htun took a look at my x-rays for the damaged teeth and said it would take 45 mins to do and since he was booked all day, he couldn't fit me in and had to reschedule. It was unprofessional for the clinic to have me come in person and tell me to reschedule because they were booked that day when I already had an appointment. It's frustrating for the doctor to tell you they are booked and want to prioritize other patients. An appointment usually is around 30-45 mins so I don't understand how my filling would cause such an extreme hindrance to other patients. Also didn't appreciate them not saying sorry about the inconvenience of me having to reschedule again. The amount of time to drive and leave room for my work schedule for this appointment was wasted. UPDATE: I went to a different clinic the next day and they were able to do my filling in 20 minutes. Their service and quality was much better than here read more

What I love most about Dr. Htun's office is their management of time. Most other dental offices I have been to, you find yourself waiting a lot and once you get in maybe they work too slow.. before you know it so many hours of your day has been sucked up. Not here! Dr Htun and his staff are very thorough, yet efficient. You are in and out and you come out well informed with clean teeth! He also doesn't try to upsell you into anything which I like. The entire staff at Dr. Htun's dental office is great. From Ashley at the front desk, all of the dental assistants, and Dr. Htun himself, everyone is friendly, professional, and very helpful. I've had regular check-ups, a deep cleaning, replaced a crown, and was even directed to an oral surgeon for an implant. In each experience, Dr. Htun did a great job explaining the steps of the processes. He does so in such a comfortable and confident way that I've always felt comfortable with whatever I had to go through. He even asks me how my golf skills are doing whenever I come in! Great experience. Took my 4 yr old for his regular check up. He was not in his best mood, but the Htun was awesome. He talked to him, made him calm down and finished his check up in 5 mins. Thankfully no cavities. Then it was my turn. He did my deep cleaning with almost no pain at all. Told me how to take care of my teeth etc. Very polite and courteous. Came here for an exam, cleaning and x-rays. Only $99 without insurance which is a great price!! They were able to fit me in the day I called which was amazing because it was a Saturday. Prices are very reasonable. Just over $250 for 2 cavities and they only charge $875 for Veneers which is a really good price. Usually they are at least $1000 per tooth. The dentist was very nice, the cleaning was painless and I got to watch The Food Network while my teeth were being cleaned! I plan to bring my 2 year old here soon and sending my husband too. The only thing you may want to take note of is that if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, they will charge you a $50 fee. Finally!! What a relief it is to finally find an amazing dentist! I've literally been to 6 different dentists. On one tooth I had 2 bad root canals. Both dentist were Vietnamese on Alumn Rock. Avoid at all cost! I went to get a consultation with another dentist prior to Dr Htun and he wanted to pull out 4-6 teeth and put implants with another dentist. I thought omg.. I'm only in my 30's what will happen? And not to mention the cost! I thought screw it... I'll go to Mexico and get it done. Then I just couldn't take it anymore so I went to my trusty Yelp and found Dr Htun. Based on the good reviews and seeing that he does the the surgical procedures, I knew I had to see him. He's really busy but now I see why! The whole office itself is very warm and clean. Completely different from all the other cold dentist offices I've been to. It's located right in the Orchard complex. I first had my clean and X-ray with his wife, which is a dental hygienist. She's really sweet and gentle. She told me they had 2 boys also and told me how she takes care of her kids teeth. Just a great first experience! Then they gave me a game plan for my teeth and Dr Htun told me he could save my teeth! Hallewyah!!! I've now been to him a total of 3 times in about a month and a half and now I know why he's sooo good! I've had root canals before and it seemed so different. This is now my third root canal on the same tooth and man what a difference. The other Drs seemed to drill the tooth and just cap it. Now I know that those Drs were being lazy and did it the fast way to get your money. Dr Htun did a really thorough deep cleaning prior to prep the work to be done after. He goes back and forth making sure that it's completely clean. He cross checks and checks again. Just so different from any other dentists I've been to! Then the root canal itself, he goes through and cleaned it first and he did a temporary cap to make sure the infection was gone. I came back after 2 weeks so he could finish the rest on the one tooth. He put some what looks to be pins in and did and X-ray to make sure he got it all. He probably did like 4 X-rays to ensure he did it. Talk about thorough! He did a before an after, then went in more and final. That was 3 hours of work for one tooth. Incredible. I still will have to do a crown after but I'm so pleased with him! He lets me put on my music on my phone and numbs me so I'm actually super relaxed during my visits. I've never trusted a dentist so much. Now my entire family goes to him. I really like the setup of his office. He makes his cubicles seem like small intimate rooms. A tv in each room. He puts on cartoons for my 2 and 5 year old and they really liked him a lot also. Hooray!!! Their fear of the dentist is gone! I couldn't believe my 2 year old let him clean all of his tooth! No tears. Afterwards he rewarded them with a little toy. They just adored him. Every night now they want to play dentist to clean their teeth. I am sooo relieved and happy to find someone my whole family can trust! read more

I've been uneasy around dentists all my life and have the gag reflexes of a 4 year old. But the atmosphere from Dr. Htun's office is one of family; they answer all my questions promptly and with the mindset of "what's best for my customer." Kim (the receptionist/assistant) is the most cheery person you'll ever meet in the South Bay. She even whipped out her blood pressure monitors to check when I told her I had to visit the doctor doctor for a blood pressure test - that's how awesome these folks are. I've been going to Dr. Htun for about 3+ years now and they never disappoint. The office is multilingual and typically caters to the Chinese population. I was skeptical at first if I would feel like a foreigner in a third world country but that's the opposite of what I experienced. You'll see how capable the staff is in carrying a conversation, they do it with enthusiasm and ease - funny too which is a huge plus. They have the latest technologies and gadgets and offer all the services you'd expect from a dentist. Over the years, I've seen them do upgrades and so I know they take pride in their work. With regards to pain and comfort, just trust that they treat you with the utmost care. Dr. Htun is accurate, gentle, and knowledgeable. My teeth are in the best shape of their lives and I have this office to thank. I don't have any complaints nor any desire to look for another place, honestly. I'm so glad I found Dr. William Htun. After leaving college (and not taking care of my teeth for many, many years), my teeth had gotten so rotten that every dentist I went to pretty much told me I was hopeless. The last dentist I went to before Dr. Htun told me that I needed 4 root canals (and more than a dozen fillings) even though I had no pain. I ended up getting 3 root canals on the same day, and it made me so miserable that I went on a hunt for a new dentist. Luckily, a friend recommended Dr. Htun. Dr. Htun never once made me feel like my teeth were beyond hope. He managed to patch up my teeth well enough that I haven't had any major teeth problems for 3 years. I drive 30 minutes from south San Jose to Miltipas (up to an hour in traffic) to go get my teeth checked every 3 months, and it's totally worth it. How many people do you know like their dentist that much? I've seen Dr. Hutn interact with many of his patients, and he always treats everyone like family. Dr. Htun is the absolute best! Going to the dentist, in the past, was always a chore - and something I would likely cancel if I had good reason (or any reason...). However, upon moving to the area, I stumbled upon Dr. Htun's Yelp reviews and honestly - I've never had a better dentist. He, as well as his assistant, Kim, are not only amazingly kind, they are considerate of your schedule. I'm in my first year in law school, and I hardly have time to do much of anything. However, they kindly fit me in at 7am - before my classes start for the day. Their office is also beautiful. I love that they also have Food Network on in the morning so I can catch a show as I get my teeth cleaned. Again, it's a pleasure. I can't recall the last time I seen a dentist before Dr. Htun. Making an appointment to see a dentist isn't a main priority when you don't have any health insurance and everything has to come out of pocket. Oh the dilemma.... But oh well. But this week I've been having a really annoying toothache. Dr. Htun and his assistant Kim was all that I could ask for if not more! They were able to squeeze me in to determine what was wrong. May I add that day was especially busy for them. Dr. Htun asked me to come back the same day for my cleaning since it was my only day off this week and he stayed after hours to do so for me. My aunt is a dental assistant, and she was the one who recommended me to Dr. William Htun. I don't even remember how long I have been going to his office, all I can say is it's been years, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great dentist. I think the biggest thing I can say for him is that he works quickly, but carefully, and he checks with you every now and than to make sure your not in any pain. He's also very careful about using the numbing agent in you mouth. He gives you just enough so you don't feel pain, but not too much where you would have to wait hours after the visit for it to wear off. He's also a very cautious and clean dentist. He gives you medicine to take before an appointment that just makes sure you don't run the risk of getting an infection from the visit. He gives you these shaded safety glasses to wear so the overhead light that all dentists uses do not hurt your eyes. When taking an X-ray, his assistant Kim, placed a lead collar around my neck in addition to the lead vest, just very super cautious. I think the biggest thing for me is that he makes sure that he doesn't use your chest as a tool tray. I had a dentist previously who end up leaving two or three different tools on my chest rather than put it back on his tray, and those tools actually have enough weight to them that it makes you pretty uncomfortable while he works on your teeth, Dr. Htun doesn't do that, every tools he uses he puts it back on his tray before going to a different one. His office is really nice, very comfortable atmosphere. Magazines of all different kinds to occupy you in the waiting room, and flat screen TVs mounted on the walls in front of each chair ( usually tuned into Food Network, probably the only time you'll ever watch it and not feel hungry). Both Dr. Htun and his assistant Kim are always nice and full of energy. I think about the only con that I can think of is that he doesn't perform extractions of a tooth. But he does refer you to someone who will. Other than that, Dr. Htun is very good at what he does! read more

I had old retainers; finally, wire was broken. Went to his clinic and new retainers came only few days waits during holidays time. It's hard taking care of your health when you don't have insurance for it. I have been improperly taught on how to take care of my teeth when I was younger, and being 1st generation we didn't always have insurance to go to the dentist. With insurance now, I'm really happy that I found this Dentist. Dr. William Htun is a very considerate individual who will always be willing to work with you to solve your dental problems. There's no judgement in his tone when he speaks to you and he's straight forward. I'm fairly selfconcious of what has happened and to be honest, my experience with him has always been outstanding. Open communication is always good. Not all dentists will have the patience to explain the situation you are in or even understand that going under a "hot poker" hurts. He is always willing to listen and work with you to make sure you're not suffering. This is absolutely one of the best dentists that I've ever been to. Very gentle on the work he does on you. Which means his skills are top notch. There was one time a while ago where he was doing a deep cleaning session on my teeth and told me that I will be in pain after my session and to take some type of pain killers. Now I'm usually the one who would be able to take pain, I'm sensitive to it, but I can ignore it. After my deep cleaning session I let the numbness go away and was testing the waters on how much it would hurt if I drank anything or ate anything. There was absolutely no pain after my session at all. Didn't need to take pain medication or anything. Greatest experience ever. I can also add that this dentist is probably the best person to take young children to because of how good he is at what he does. It's hard to find a dentist who is always gentle and skilled in his line of work, as well as compassionate. There are dentists who will tell you "hey the pain isn't so bad right?!" and go on drilling, then destroy you in the process. You pay so that someone can take care of your teeth without pain. He does this, and does this well. I will be going to him until he retires or if I move out of state, hell if I move out of state I might even come back for a checkup from him. The receptionist lady is pretty nice and so is the hygienist. Everyone made me feel welcomed and feel at ease. They went over all the procedures and billing info and options to make sure I understand everything and if I like to receive the treatment here or not. They even took extra steps necessary for my heart murmur by calling and asking my doctor if it's alright to do cleaning. Finally I got to see Dr. William Htun.
