Extremely rude receptionist. This place doesn't care about your health. they keep harassing you to do procedures just so they can get money out of your insurance. Coming here is NOT a good experience. Thankfully I've never had issues with my teeth other than root canal 20 years ago with no issues. Yet these guys kept harassing me to put a cap which would take away 3/4 of my existing tooth. At the beginning we agreed for X-rays every 2 years, but they harass me to get X-rays at every visit. With no issues I don't see why Xrays need to be the moment my insurance is willing to pay for it. Go to a doctor who cares about your oral health. These people only care to see how much money they can extract with whatever procedure they can do on you. read more

Dr. Kolnes is a very kind and patient dentist. He has excellent bedside manners. He has many years of experience in his craft. His office is clean, well designed, and located in a very nice business building. There is a parking lot on site. His employees, from the receptionist to clinical support staff, are very professional. They offer great customer service and they are skillful at what they do. They always check in with patients to ensure their patients' comfort throughout the procedure. I'm a bit frustrated, but I just want to state the facts. Today was supposed to be my second deep cleaning session along with a cavity filling. Since I had already paid the full amount during my last visit, I expected this to be a straightforward appointment. However, halfway through the procedure, the dentist suddenly mentioned that there was an additional cavity. Lying there in the chair, I had no real opportunity to refuse, so they proceeded with the filling. After the treatment, I went to the front desk, only to be told that my insurance had reached its limit and I would need to pay an additional $195 out of pocket. It wasn't until I went to my new dentist that I realized this place is really a money grab business. I came here a few years back and my dentist was Dr. Khoury. I believe on my first or second visit Dr. Khoury claimed that I needed 2 crowns immediately (along with other cavities). This maxed out my insurance for the year so I ended up paying a large amount for co-pay and out of pocket for future cleanings. A few weeks of having my crowns put in, both of them fell out so I had to go back and get them put back in. Dr. Khoury did not seem to believe me when I told him that they were starting to hurt and told me to "use sensodyne toothpaste" to help. Yikes. After that, every single time I went in they would miraculously find a new cavity (there wasn't a visit where a cavity was not found) and tried very hard to push invisaline on me. I had braces so my teeth are very straight so it did not make any sense to me. Dr. Khoury claimed that I had a slight "overbite" and me paying $2500 out of pocket for invisaline would correct that. Fast forward to my new dentist, who says that I do not have an overbite and do not have cavities where Dr. Khoury claimed that I had. I believe that I did not even need crowns in the first place. There was a story a few years ago about a Dr. who got arrested for giving people crowns when they didn't really need them and I would not be surprised if they looked at the records here something similar was going on. read more

Moving to a new city is tough especially when you have no idea where to find good services. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Khoury at Montague Dental Excellence. I have visited three times thus far and could not be happier with the service. They are open late a few days a week so I am able to get my appointment in after work. Dr. Khoury and the hygienists there are super accommodating and are willing to answer any questions or do anything to make your visit more comfortable. Their office is pretty high -tech too. They can show you a zoom-in inside your mouth, take digital snapshots, watch programming while they work on you, all while sitting in a massage chair. I've been seeing Dr. Khoury and Dr. Kolnes for about 18 years now (or maybe even longer, I can't really remember). But for sure, I've been a patient before I started my Ortho in my early tween years. I truly believe my positive experience here is the reason I keep up with my dental hygiene. Surprisingly, not many people go to the dentist regularly. Here's a quick story about my traumatic experience at a different dentist: I remember I hated going to the dentist when I was around 5 and my parents always had to reschedule the appointment because I kept crying. The first dentist referred my parents to a doctor who apparently had experience working with difficult children because they had restraint systems (What?!?). I remember I was strapped to the chair, crying my eyes out with a stuff animal they gave me. Thankfully, I switched to Dr. Khoury and Dr. Kolnes when my parents came to their senses. I have to give it to the dental assistants and hygienists at Montague Dental Excellence for keeping me calm when I was younger during all cleanings and filling procedures! They knew how to distract me from any pain when I was younger and because of that, my fear of the dentist no longer existed (and it helped that they had the cool Highlights for Kids magazines!). Also, they have massage chairs! Why not relax and get your teeth cleaned at the same time? One negative is that they're only open 4 days a week, but it's nice that they have after work hours. read more

We had a wonderful experience with everyone from the beginning and up until the end of our multiple appointments at Montague Dental Excellence. The receptionists are all nice and professional in helping us with all our questions. The dental assistants made sure we were comfortable during the whole procedure. Doctor Khoury was very polite and made sure he understood everything we wanted to happen before he explained pros and cons and suggested anything that might be better to give my wife the perfect smile. How many dentists can you say "Yay, I'm a fan" ?? Well I will say it about Dr. Kolnes. I actually found him through a Living Social deal where I got xrays and a teeth cleaning for $39. Not too shabby. I was due for my 6 month checkup and my individual dental insurance I had before wasn't that great, didn't really cover much. I always ended up paying $25 something for a teeth cleaning and it barely covered any of my fillings. I yelped their office and per the good reviews I made an appointment the same week. Their staff is super friendly and Dr. Kolnes as well. We were quite chatty during my teeth cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised to see him do the actual teeth cleaning and not have a dental assistant do it. I'm glad he's a more hands-on Dentist. I had to get one filling and they were able to schedule me in that same afternoon to do it. I got 10% off for paying that day for my filling, wish cavities weren't so expensive :(. I thought I would get a little more discount for paying cash. To top it off, Dr. Kolnes even called me the next day to make sure I was doing well after my filling! read more

Khoury & Kolnes have been my dentists since I was 14 (yeah... it's been a long time, lol) and I can't say enough nice things about the staff and their new office location. Hygiene and comfort are their prime concerns and you can rest assured that they're using the latest technology to care for your pearly whites (and to keep them that way). Speaking of comfort, they have very cool massaging chairs (great if you're a little nervous or have had a loooong day) and you can even bring your own DVD to watch during your appointment (PG-only, please, people). Easy to get to and ample parking plus scheduling with the dentists has always been convenient & painless for me. Invisalign and tooth whitening are some of the services that they also provide. I found this dental office through my own determination & hard work. The method I used was rather unconventional but I'm so glad it's working out very well. : ) I have had a few procedures done at this dental office within the last few months and have visited a total of 7 times. So I have formed some opinion of this place. Here's what I think: *The receptionists are always very welcoming and greet you when you walk in. And they remember your name after just 1 visit! Isabel really sold me on switching to this dental office when I first spoke to her on the phone to make my initial appointment. I kept her on the phone for a long time and I felt she genuinely understood my concerns and reassured me that I would be well taken care of by the staff of this office. *They're always on-time with their appointments. I've never had to wait to be seen. *All dental assistants here are very friendly, gentle and more importantly, like well oiled machines, they work extremely well with the dentists. As a result, this office gets the job done very efficiently. I think Marie is who I have. :) *Dr.Kolnes is my dentist and he has pretty much all the qualities you want to look for in a good dentist. He is skilled, gentle, keeps you informed each step of the way. He never rush to get things done and is always more than happy to answer any questions I have (and my inquisitive self throws random dental questions at him all the time!). He's not out to rip patients off by suggesting unnecessary procedures (Sad to say, I can't say the same about a lot of the other dental offices in the area.)and the pricing on various dental procedures is very reasonable. And one thing that I really like about Dr. Kolnes is that he never bad mouth dental work done by any one my previous dentists and I've had a lot done in the past. As strange as it may sound, this is a quality I value a lot in a dentist but it's extremely hard to come by. *Dr. Khoury who is the other dentist has known & worked with Dr. Kolnes for a long time. I've had the pleasure of having Dr.Khoury work on me as well. While the experience was brief, it was a good one. He got the job done quickly and like Dr. Kolnes, he kept me well informed of what to expect next during the procedure. This is a smaller office that's well run by a handful of individuals who love their job and value their patients. By the way I'm taken care of at each visit, I can tell they don't take my business for granted. I actually look forward to each visit because I know the discomfort is kept at a minimum and I quite enjoy chatting with everyone at this dental office whenever I don't have something in my mouth. : ) Finding a good dentist is like finding a good mechanic for your car. I've been seeing Dr. Khoury for 1.5 years. He did a marvelous job in my Invisalign treatment as well as crown replacement and adding a bridge. I had small gaps in between my teeth. He was able to move my teeth around and eliminate the gaps, then added the crown. He also is great with my 5 year old child. He had done cleaning for him for 2 years. His staff is super organized in scheduling and following up. All in all, he is a capable and professional In handling complex cases. We are very pleased with him and the office staff.
