This is my new dentist and I love them. Every time I go in, you can hear them chanting from at least a mile away, "TEETH! TEETH! TEETH!" It is as exciting as it is terrifying, but once you step through the portal you find yourself chanting along with them, often screaming as loud as you can like a Banshee. There is a giant Tooth Statue in the center of the room when you walk in that you must sacrifice your teeth to upon entering. Not all of them, just one every time you visit. Don't worry about this part too much. They give you a pair of pliers if you forgot your own, and then they immediately replace it with a Ceramic Tooth, which, if ya ask me, is way better than having these boring enamel/dentin/cementum toys we were born with. Useless. Everyone is the office is super sweet. They hold your hand when you cry like a baby. Of course, they laugh while doing it, which doesn't really soften the blow, kinda makes it worse. Dr Vu is amazing! I came with a problem of moved tooth caused by a broken wire retainer. He fixed the problem by a creative idea of removing the wire and creating some spots in my Invisalign retainer to move my tooth back in place. I saw results after a few hours! I'm so grateful for that and appreciate his honesty, instead of selling me a new Invisalign braces that I couldn't effort he tried his best to help me with my smile that is so important for me and for my confidence. They are by far the best dentist that i have ever been too. The front desk staff are all really nice and comforting people. They are very knowledgeable about their work. Very helpful with insurance matters and scheduling. All the dental assistants have been very nice and mindful of any discomfort. The hygienists are just as good. Very informative and do great job. Dr Vu is great at what he does. All the treatments that have been done and recommended, have been in my best interest. My previous dentist wanted my wisdom pulled but Dr Vu had the keen eye to notice the nerves in my jaw. If i had gotten them removed i could have had permanent nerve damage. That in turn proved everything wrong from my last dentist and just how better Dr Vu is. He works fast and precise. The facility is super clean and looks so new. You can watch TV while getting your teeth done. Once your appointment starts you're in there getting it done. You're not sitting in a chair waiting for them to start. HOLY GRAIL TMJ RELIEF!!! I suffered from chronic debilitating migraines my whole life caused by my TMJ that even painkillers couldn't even ease my symptoms. That was until I was given the opportunity to try botox to help with the migraines. They injected the botox on my masseters and my temples and I can never go back!! My family has been going to Milpitas Dental Center and seeing Dr. Vu for over 20 years. It's always been a pleasant and friendly experience, I've never had any issues over the years and I'm a big fan of the way they numb the mouth before doing work, my previous dentist's method was not comfortable at all and that was the first thing I noticed when my family switched over. Few things that really stand out to me as well, most have been with Dr. Vu the entire time and it's very much a family like environment inside. When my family had no insurance and was paying out of pocket, the staff made sure to work with my parents to be on a payment plan that was manageable or whatever discount they could apply would be done. When my mother had health issues and had to be seen last minute notice with time sensitivity, Dr. Vu and his staff would always accommodate and if they couldn't provide that particular service, through their network they were always able to help us get appointments last minute. I usually get my teeth cleaned by Tammi, she really is careful around the mouth area and once of the least painful cleanings I've had. Other's sometimes you can still sort of feeling the cleaning afterwards and it can be a little discomforting, but I've never felt that pain when I've had my teeth cleaned by her. Highly recommend, but I've had my teeth cleaned by everyone over the years and they are all very careful and care about your well-being. I remember one hygienist even told me to relax more at work because she would tell I was stressed out at night by looking at my gums. Really appreciative of Dr. Vu and his staff's care over the years. Also with the new remodel they have TV's in every cleaning bay so you can stream what you'd like which is a bonus. Friendly staff will check you in for your appointment and even schedule your next cleaning! When it's time for you to be seen, you are taken to a station that is spotless and tidy. Having been a patient at Milpitas Dental Center for 3 years, I have had a handful of staff members work on my teeth. All have been very knowledgeable and professional. My teeth are always feeling as clean as can be! After my appointment is done, front desk staff always confirm that my next appointment is scheduled prior to me leaving. I try to add an event into my calendar on my phone right away, but if I forget, I know I will be receiving a confirmation text/reminder a week or 2 before the appointment. Beware, Dr.Vu can't keep his composure! In March i had a filling done by Dr.Vu, however the filling felt uncomfortable for 3+ months. I had revisited him 4 times to try to fix the issue, but every time has been an unpleasant experience. I understand, revisiting multiple times with the same patient can be frustrating. But if you are working with patients and working inside people mouth with sharp tools, you need to keep your composure. Every revisit, Dr.Vu tried to grind down my tooth to help the sharpness smooth out. Afterwards, I would try to feel if my tooth is better, but during this I'm am always rushed, told to stop "playing" with my tooth with my tongue, and that my filling is normal. This 4th, and last visit, was the worst. Dr.Vu did not even try to hide the fact he was trying to rush me. First, I came in and Dr.Vu numb me to redo my entire filling. Right after numbing me, he pulls up a picture of my tooth and would convince me that filling is good the way it is and doesn't need to be redone. So I thought okay we can TRY smoothing it out again and see if it works and I even point out where exactly I felt sharpness. After smoothing it out, I was checking to to see if it felt sharp still, but this was difficult as I've been numbed. Due to me being unsure if the filling is better and taking time to check, Dr. Vu started to get impatient. He started to rush me to give him to "okay" to leave and says he wants to, "take off his gloves to get to his next patient." But, the filling still felt off and a bit sharp. I thought okay, maybe redoing the whole filling is a better choice. But Dr.Vu lost his composure and basically refused to redo it. So I had him try to smooth it out a bit more at least. Then he started grinding my tooth aggressively and even hit my gum and made it bleed. At that point, I lost all trust in him as a dentist and gave him his "okay" to leave. I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because he did agree to check on my tooth 4 times. But no one should be "rushed" or feel unsafe when visiting the dentist. Hope my tooth is okay... read more

Dr. Vu is the best! I've been a patient for 5+ years now and every time that I have visited for cleaning, fills, etc. the service and care is superb! Recently, I was leaving for a trip on a Monday and I had a tooth crack on me over the weekend and he was able to squeeze me in to get it fixed the morning of my trip. I also had a root canal done on a different tooth prior to the tooth crack and he did it quickly and swiftly-no pain after and recovered quickly. Now that my kids are old enough, I am also transitioning them over here! I haven't had a good experience at any dentist I went to in the past, but Milpitas Dental Center was the best Dentist I EVER landed on!!! I don't know where to start!!! But I will start off by rating this place a 10/10. Dr Vu had to do a root canal due to me being in pain since March from another Dentist that did not take care of me well. Dr Vu was very patient with me as I was in a lot of pain. He explained everything to me before doing any work. He made me feel very comfortable and made sure I was calm during my procedure, I was in no more pain after leaving. That right there was a HUGE relief. Milpitas Dental Center has been my dentist ever since reaching adulthood. The front office staff is always warm and friendly, making you feel welcomed upon coming in for your appointment. They are also pretty on top of it with coordinating your appointments, including reminders! The waiting room and adjacent restroom are clean and spacious, and the salt water aquarium tank is quite calming. A perk that's offered here are the TV's in each patient room; you can for sure catch up your your streaming shows while you get work done! I consistently feel cared for by Dr. Vu the fellow amazing oral healthcare team. Not only are they cool and personable, they are very supportive on ensuring your dental health needs are met, whether it be your routine cleaning and/or emergency situation. I never thought I'd say I like going to the dentist, but this place is pretty awesome. From the girls working from the front desk, to the assistants, and Dr. Vu - they really have a great system going! I love that I can take my whole family here and appreciate how gentle they are with my kids. They are accommodating with scheduling. I mean, how many dental offices can you find that are open on Saturdays? They understand that not all of us can make it during regular business hours. Also, towards the end of the year, they sometimes open up on Sundays to accommodate end of the year appointments. That is unheard of, but definitely appreciated! Update, my crown came off again for the 3rd time within a year since the last time it was "fixed" and now I am in the process of an implant with an oral surgeon. I wish I would have just gone somewhere else sooner, then maybe everything would have turned out differently. We were in need of searching for another dentist and since I'm a Yelp contributor and reviewer I read lots of positive and great experiences here at Milpitas Dental Center. I initially placed a call to see if they accepted our Dental Insurance carrier and they did and the gal that I initially spoke with was Kaitlin. I had other questions for her as well, and she was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgable in answering all of my inquiries. I was very comfortable with Kaitlin and so we decided to come here for our dental needs. Been coming here for over a Year now and very pleased. Just recently, I decided to take myself off of Delta Dental PPO since I merely only get cleanings and X-rays. I don't have any dental issues nor does my hubby. I called Kaitlin as I truly rely on her expertise and knowledge. I inquired what do most people in my case do now that we are retired, do most people pay for their own plans. In their practice the average person without insurance pays out of pocket. Kaitlin took the time and walked me through what our out of pocket expenses would be and clearly it was very clear that it was way below what we had paid in Premiums for 2022. After reviewing the numbers again, I cancelled our Dental policy and will pay out of pocket should a need arise, hopefully this would not be the case. Just wanted to recognize Kaitlin who took the time to walk me through what I needed to understand so it was very clear to me. In years past, we always had Dental coverage because it was part of our company benefit perks. It had become a habit to always have coverage. Wow, I wished I changed dental offices to here a looong time ago! Went here for a dental cleaning as a new patient and all the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Loved that Dr. Vu had actual photos of my teeth pulled up on the television for me to see while reviewing them with me; I'm used to only see x-rays. The panorama x-ray for examining wisdom teeth is also something I've never seen elsewhere. Also enjoyed being able to watch Netflix while getting my teeth cleaned instead of boring local channels. As a child you don't really enjoy going to the "dentist" and I've kept this mentality with me up until adulthood (two tours of braces and 8+ teeth removed ALL BY age 19 will have you feeling some "type" of way towards any dental practice). In the past I've experienced a dental practice that cares about their customers and a practice that only cares about the business and performs sub-par work. THANKFULLY, MDC not only genuinely cares about their customers but also about the work they do and will be very thorough with making sure you are satisfied! As soon as you enter their building and approach the front desk there is a feeling of knowing you will be taken care of...it could be the state-of-the-art feel of the equipment, the large fish tank in the waiting area with plenty of fish swimming around or the Golden State Warriors theme felt all around the office (bobbleheads, posters, flags, etc....GO GSW!!!). Everyone from the front desk staff to the dental assistants, hygienists and doctors are very approachable and have warm personalities. I never once felt pressured into having any work done and I feel they all have been honest with me after each appointment (and I've come across some questionable recommendations from other practices in the past...some even unnecessary just so they can make that money). Dr. Vu and Dr. Vehawn have a very well oiled machine going on at this practice and it shows with the staff's attitude as well as the customers leaving satisfied WITH A SMILE! Seriously, I did not think I could enjoy a trip to the dentist but I feel VERY COMFORTABLE whenever I have an appointment. Thank you!!! =D read more
