The bad news she broke my $375 gold lingual wire that is keeping my bottom teeth in place and Now I need to go to my orthodontist to get it fixed. Truly, not what I have time to do during the holidays but mistakes happen. Because I wasn't expecting this as a possibility Dr Huynh has contacted my orthodontist personally and made sure I don't have this unexpected expense. I'm waiting until after my next cleaning just in case she breaks the other side as Now I know this can happen!! As a business owner and a mom of 3 I'm more in tears because I really don't have the extra time this month to go to my orthodontist. Dr Huynh was very apologetic about this but it took a little while for him to get back to me as it was a busy office day. For my first experience it was a little off but he went well and above my expectations when encountering a mistake like this. I was recommended to use a mouth rinse, chlorhexidine. Never have I been to a place that needed to give me a prescription for it. I've always been to a place that has it in stock and Now I need to deal with a pharmacy but after explaining why they don't carry it it they actually saved me $$. Perhaps this just seemed overwhelming in the moment. I went to Kaiser and got my RX down the street for 10 bucks. Ultimately this is just off to a bad start but I can see it turning around for sure. My best advice to my hygienist - slow down near lingual wire permanent retainers but keep your heavy hands because I did feel like you did a good cleaning. I will be in pain later tho. As to be expected. Or at least give your patients a heads up that this can happen. Update**** Dr Huynh called me and we came up with a solution. You can tell he really cares about his patients and his staff. I will definitely not name anyone in this review who worked on me because making a mistake like this is just that. A mistake. It can be fixed and it's not the end of the world. She did a very thorough job at my cleaning which is ultimately what I want. Thanks for calling me to chat! I appreciate it!

So I went in to see Dr. Huynh for an assessment of my gums. His hygienists are probably the nicest and most thorough hygienists I've ever experienced. They take the time to explain any and all issues that I had with my gums, and ways to work on the issues. Not only that, they are always the best cleanings I've had in my life. My teeth and gums always feel AMAZING afterwards! After my cleaning, Dr. Huynh came in to talk to me about my gums and any issues that I had. He was very patient, kind and explained everything to me in a non-condescending manner. He worked on my teeth and gums in a very gentle manner with no pain. He is an expert on gums and you can totally tell by just talking with him. For such a busy office, I was extremely happy that the staff, from the receptionist, billing person, hygienist and doctor, were so pleasant and professional. This was further evident from the other patients in the waiting room who likewise had only good things to say about Dr. Huynh and his staff. Dr. Huynh seemed to know everyone by their first names and was not pretentious like other doctors can be. I don't usually write reviews but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows how great Dr. Huynh is and I have and will continue to recommend his office (they have one in Milpitas now too!) to anyone that's needs periodontic work!

Then trying to schedule my first and second appointment, Marlene has been great to work with. I was super nervous for a deep cleaning but front desk staff always gave a warm welcome. Brian was the one that did my first half of my deep cleaning and he was reassuring me the whole way, asking me if I was okay and explained the process and what he was doing if he switched over to something different. It was a calm experience that I actually fell asleep a couple of times!

The front desk personnel immediately indicated that given the time to complete paperwork I would not be able to complete my consultation. Apparently there's no buffer between appts. Fine. The paperwork consisted of 2 pieces of paper F/B and took me a whole 3min. By that time it was 2:30. She then pretty much told me I won't be seen for the full consul and only "like 15min" and that I'd need 45min for the entire consul. She had no desire to make it work for me and asked for me to reschedule, I had a while 30min for the consul left. Given how rude and aggressive the front receptionist was overall, this was not where I wanted to come for serious dental work. I'm sure this office receives plenty of referrals what's one less patient! On a more important note: I was in the office for at least 10min. No COVID protocol as far as I'm aware. No patient evaluation for COVID symptoms and no temperature check. My husband's dental office assess patients before entering. Overall worked out for me. Revolving door during COVID with no downtime between patients? Yikes! My review does not speak to their ability to perform the work, but the overall patient experience. It's dental work, who wants to encounter an overbearing person at the front desk when coming for dental work?! Yikes.

Dr. Wong's assistant walked me through the 360 x-rays and interior & exterior scans very carefully (you get a 3D model of your teeth after that, which is really cool!) Dr. Wong went over my scans teeth by teeth and answered my questions. After that, he cleaned my teeth and removed all the stains and buildup. He was careful and avoided touching my gums, which I'm usually nervous about. Overall, I had a perfect visit, and would definitely recommend Dr. Wong to all my friends!
