Made a reservation here for the evening of my birthday and am so happy I did! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly face (in this case, he was at the bar) and given the option to sit on the bar side or the restaurant. I chose the latter because I wanted a bit more of a relaxed but intimate feel and was not disappointed. The walls are this beautiful shade of cerulean, with lanterns, and mirrors adorned. While waiting for my friends I ordered a gin gimlet, but the entire cocktail menu is very unique and exotic. For dinner, we ordered the thrice baked potatoes, marinated olives, muhammara (it's eggplant and walnuts, delicious), and lamb skewers. My only complaint was that it was a Saturday night and they were out of a good 4-6 things on the dinner and dessert menus, but otherwise everything we ordered was delicious. After dinner we ventured over to the bar side and got to know Jay, the bartender and restaurant concept creator, which was an absolute pleasure. He's very personable and made the whole evening celebratory and fun - thank you for that, Jay! They also do wine Wednesdays where they have wine tasting and mezze sampling in their downstairs area - so I'll be back to check that out soon with my mom! 10/10 recommend this spot - it's very much worth it! read more

Highly recommend checking out Servia! We found this newcomer from an eater recommendation, and ended up having one of the nicest overall evenings in covid at a restaurant we've had yet. The staff were all incredibly warm and hospitable, clearly they're a well-oiled team that enjoy working together and care about their customers. The food was delicious- we tried the calamari, hummus, broccoli rabe pitza, moussaka, and the burger, as well as both mezcal cocktails. All were great, and I particularly was blown away by the burger, definitely one of the top in Boston. I'm excited to go back to check out their lunch options, grab a drink, and definitely return for dinner. Hidden gem nearby Quincy Market! As a fan of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, I was very excited to find a new spot in downtown Boston. We had the meze sampler of spreads with arabic flatbread along with the fried brussel sprouts, chicken kabobs, and shrimp kabobs. Overall this was definitely enough for the 2 of us! The delicious food was complimented by a wonderful wine and cocktail menu with friendly bar staff to make appropriate recommendations. All restaurant staff members were welcoming and kind! I came here late on Friday night, and left blown away. It is truly special. By far the best restaurant I have been to in Boston (having been here for 20 years plus). The food is incredible, every detail is so well thought out, and the service is not comparable to anything I have experienced. The food is special. The portions are perfect (big but not heavy), everything tastes incredible, and the prices are beyond reasonable ($17 to $20 something or so plates). I had a few Mediterranean plates, which were incredible. The burger is surprisingly the best one I have ever had (and had nearly every one in Boston that is famous on lists). The drink menu is amazing and very unique. There is incredible amounts of space between seating. Huge distance between people. The service itself I have never seen in Boston, but is an experience in itself. Derek, the GM makes sure everything is flawless, you are treated like you are in someone's home, or at the nicest hotel in Boston. They cater to every thing one could possibly cater to. Jordon the waiter was so incredibly friendly, well spoken, kind, and made you feel like you were at a famed Michelin restaurant. I will definitely be back here for a coffee during the day to work, lunch, and at some point breakfast (as their Israeli bagel looks amazing, and other items to go). Anyhow, a perfect dinner spot, the best place I have been to in Boston, and in general. Further, I have a feeling just as amazing for breakfast and lunch. Our group of seven unexpectedly tried Servia on a Friday night and it was fantastic. Our server (more of a host, really) was amazing. Jordan made us feel at home, knows everything about every dish, is a whiskey connoisseur, helped us make drink and food selections, and paid keen attention to allergy issues, of which two of us had several. He was careful, but didn't make a big deal out of it. We loved every dish, most of which were new to us. We especially appreciated that Servia was arranged so that we could easily have a conversation, as opposed to having to shout over bar noise and music. Jordan even helped point us in the right direction for walking back to our hotel. He should get a nice, all-expenses-paid trip to the Bahamas (after tourist season!) as a bonus - he's such an asset to Servia, which is now on our go-to list when we come to Boston. The food was bland. If they offer you a salmon tartar say no you can tell the fish is not fresh it was just lemon juice and salmon in a little cup. We got the lamb kabobs and there was barely anything on them. The sauce beside the kabobs was really good. I was really looking forward to the lamb tajine since Its one of my favorite dishes but it was so bland. The lamb was tender so the technical skills are there but the flavors were not. They didn't even attempt to flavor it. I'm not surprised that the place was empty but it is disappointing because there aren't too many places where you can get tajine dishes. The drinks were good but the dessert was to sweet. The pavlova had to many sweet elements the cherries were too sweet, the fig drizzle was also extremely sweet and would have befitted by being paired with something tart. The only part that was delicious was the lemon filling it wasn't too sweet. The pasha pillow was simple and good but it was just a cream filled fillo wrapper. The presentation of all the dishes was beautiful I just wish the flavor matched. I really don't want to see the place close down. It has a lot of potential to be better they just need to put a little more effort into the recipes. read more

Ordered soup and muhammara dip for a late lunch pickup (which is challenging enough given the restaurant's online menu has been broken for weeks). When I arrived to pick up the orders, the doors to the restaurant were locked, and nobody answered the phone on multiple call attempts. I called back an hour later, and they said there had been a "miscommunication" because the food was nowhere to be found and that they could no longer make the soup because the kitchen had turned over. The restaurant being closed upon arrival for a pickup order placed over the phone is a new one for me, especially since this closure is listed nowhere either online or on the door. read more

Nice sit down but casual Mediterranean place near Quincy Market. Came in for lunch on a Saturday and tried the Harissa Chicken that was really flavorful. Service was very good and it wasn't crowded at all. A little bummed they weren't serving their pizzas on the weekend. They don't have a kids menu but the Chef was great and made my kids some delicious grilled chicken with fried potatoes - so delicious I ate some of that too! I went with my family for my birthday and I received the full Italian style dining experience. Classy but not stuffy. You aren't treated like a transaction here. You're a guest in their home. The Mediterranean Sampler is so tasty. The housemade hummus is the best I've had by a huge margin. The chef and GM treated us like family and we will certainly be back for more. Had a weird experience trying to get seated. Out of all the tagines and pizza on the night we went everything was unavailable. To top it off I watched as a server dropped a burger walking up the stairs then a few seconds later magically appeared with the same burger and SERVED IT!!!! Then when my husband politely informed the waiter they should warn customers so many of their main courses are unavailable the manager came over and tried to blame the waiter. Generally, I don't leave reviews. But Servia was absolutely amazing. Even during covid. It's a restaurant that focuses on giving the best experience to the customer without trying too hard to be different. They focus on the food and the cocktails and wine. We were 3 vegetarians and were surprised by the sheer number of options and the care taken to curate a good vegetarian selection. We were there for dinner and had the hummus, Muharrama, eggplant Napoleon, felafel and broccoli raab pizza. Every single dish was absolutely delicious including the fresh pita bread. We were happy campers ! Our personal favorites were the Muhammara and the eggplant Napoleon. We couldn't get enough. In terms of cocktails, we tried everything but the Spanish gin tonic. Each one of them was excellent and very innovative. My favourite was the marrakesh express - the aquafaba adds to a whole new surprise in the drink and compliments the other elements. My companions like the sultan of swat and the smoke show Kate. We couldn't unanimously pick one. S/o to Derek Alten and the team for being so engaging and making this experience so wonderful. The host provided standout service for a birthday dinner, including patiently navigating a Google Pixel camera for a group shot, and complimentary lemon drop shots for another type of group shot. Standout dishes included the Mediterranean dip sampler, Brussels sprouts, strawberry rose pavlova. The gin sidecar was super fresh and citrusy, and the Marrakech express mezcal/harissa cocktail was unique and smoky (though I am not sure I would reorder for price of $15). We split a bunch of small plates, round of drinks, and desserts, left full, satisfied, and pleasantly surprised at the bill! Came to ~$58.50 pp. I would say that it did take a bit long to be seated, take orders, and get served, but we were not in a rush. I am not sure if they've decided on their vibe yet - we saw everyone from young families to well-established elders, and our group was basically in costume/club attire prior to the PRIDE event at Legacy. The music was similarly eclectic - I heard the XX, Bollywood, and elevator jazz. So something for everyone? Decor is classy - vaulted ceilings and airy blue scheme. My family and I were in Boston for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. After a day trip to Salem we returned to our hotel and looked for somewhere to go for our last dinner in Boston. Walking distance from the hotel was Servia. My husband called to inquire about the wait time and we were told they would reserve us a table if we were heading down. On went our coats and off we went! We were warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. My husband and I enjoyed delicious cocktails. I had the Spanish Gin Tonic, which came out in a beautiful stemmed glass, with rosemary, orange, lemon, juniper berries, and tonic. My husband had the pomegranate Manhattan that was perfectly balanced and hot too sweet. Our 17 and 20 year old ordered the house mocktail and enjoyed them. The food was delicious...the hummus is silky smooth and comes with a flatbread for dipping with is similar to a tortilla, but a bit thinner. Olives were marinated in orange zest, clove, onions, and other spices. My husband had the grilled octopus which was so tender, along with the lobster ravioli like pasta. The sauce with it was tangy from the yogurt and beautifully presented. One of our kids had the chicken curry empanada like turnovers (I forget the actual name. They were well seasoned and would make a great appetizer. You get two with an order and my kid liked them so much they ended up order another plate of them to make it their dinner. Our other kid ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms...it was so creamy and the gnocchi were pillow soft with a great texture. I had the Servia salad and the sea bass that was in a light tomato based broth with preserved lemon, fingerling potatoes, and olives. Dessert options a looked wonderful and we went with the baklava, individual pavlovas with lemon and mascarpone filling, and a beautiful dessert that was in the shape of a small pillow with a lovely light, sweet filling. The Turkish coffee cocktail rounded out dessert for me. We enjoyed our dinner so much and would absolutely recommend Servia if you're looking for a great meal in a beautiful, simple elegant setting. read more

I have had a couple of lunches here. I had eagerly been waiting for it to open because I had had great experiences with the owner's previous places going back decades. I was quite happy with my food. Moussaka was pretty good and the pastitsio was excellent. They have an excellent selection of German beers in bottle and draft. It's a well-designed space. The staff is friendly and helpful. The first time I went I was the only customer. The second time a group of 4 women speaking an unfamiliar language were having a good time. It's only a 6 minute walk from where I live. So it's a very convenient place to go when I need to get out and have something I can't cook myself. Prices are very reasonable. I should also mention the superb chicken egg lemon soup! read more

Absolutely unbelievable! My Husband and I have now twice done takeout from Servia, and couldn't have been happier. Takeout can typically be a challenge for any restaurant, but I must say they hit it out- the packaging and attention to presentation elevates takeout to actually feel like a date night in a bag.
