I'm shocked this place has 4.5 stars. The restaurant is very new, so I certainly cut them some slack. The food was great! I especially liked the chicken and the Servia salad. I also had a great espresso martini. The Maine issue here was the decor and ambiance. Eating outside is probably the move because indoors boasted bizarre art, few decorations, and paper napkins. When you walk into this restaurant, you are greeted by an inviting open space and warm and welcoming hosts. We started out ordering the Scene Overheard and the Marrakesh Express. Both drinks were very tasty and the Marrakesh Express had quite a unique flavor. We ordered the Mediterranen Sampler, the vegetable terrine, and the tukmaria crusted seated tuna. All were very delicious. The terrine is well portioned to feed 2. For dessert. My recommendation would be to stick with the more traditional Middle Eastern variety. Highly recommend Servia for dinner! Boyfriend and I stopped by last night to try this place out for the first time. We were very impressed with the quality of food, the wine/cocktail selection, and the service. Food: We shared the hummus, beef adana kefta, and the spicy sausage pizza. All were delicious, but we especially enjoyed the pizza. The sausage had a kick to it, and the dough was made with grano arso flour (aka burnt wheat flour - does not taste burnt though) which added a nice depth of flavor. Drink: The GM recommended a bottle of red that paired very nicely with our meal. We also had a Spanish gin and tonic which was absolute perfection - best G&T I've ever had. He also made us an off menu mezcal drink that was phenomenal. I'm not a fan of mezcal because I don't like the charred/smokey flavor, but this was quite good. Service: Service was also on point. We sat at the bar, and the GM provided food/drink recommendations and answered any questions we had. He was incredibly nice, and clearly knowledgeable about food and the restaurant industry. OK, Boston and beyond, if you enjoy Mediterranean and Turkish Cuisine, you need to get to the Servia Restaurant on State St., in the Financial District. My wife and I just visited this afternoon and found the Servia to be a place that we will visit often, including tomorrow for lunch! It is a beautiful space with both a bar section and a dining room space. They are very cognizant of the need for Social Distancing and proper hygiene during the current pandemic. Patrizia was our hostess and waitress and was extremely gracious helpful in making our meal a wonderful event. Patrizia, the bar and cooking staff are eager to make all possible efforts to ensure a perfect customer experience. We had a couple of very delightful and unique cocktails followed by several Meza appetites, including Hummus, Muhammara Spread, and Meat Cigars each of which were amazing combinations of taste and texture. For an entree, we chase the Moussaka. My wife, who has sampled Moussaka at 15 or more fine restaurants, declared that this was the best she has ever had! Went here with a group of friends, would highly recommend as a the menu satisfies all palates. Our waitress was very welcoming and attentive. The cocktails were absolutely delicious all around. Our experience unfortunately was quite disappointing. We ordered lamb adana kebab and beef adana kefta along with muhammara spread. Although the kefta and the spread were great, the lamb adana kebab was nothing like they described. The thing is that it was a steak kebab as you can clearly see in the pictures. I don't know if this was a mistake or if this is really what they call "adana kebab", but it actually wasn't any good anyway. I checked their website afterwards, and it's described as "grilled ground lamb & beef, israeli couscous, blackberry-chili jam, pickled lancinato kale". So probably it was a mistake? I am not sure. This place is a gem. I stubbled upon this restaurant and I'm so pleased that I tried it. It was an absolute pleasure dining here. The staff are all amazing, respected COVID space, but yet were warm and very attentive. My BFF and I had dinner there on Saturday evening for Valentines Day Menu and it did not disappoint. We had a blast, we laughed, had some delicious wine, and the food was better than a lot of places we have been too. I hope people support this place as it's truly a dining destination. Great service and yummy Mediterranean tapa style dishes! It was quiet when we went which I have observed has sadly been the case for a lot of restaurants this year but the service was impeccable! We even were sent an order of shrimp kebabs from the house! Especially enjoyed the moussaka. Came here at 7pm on New Years Eve with no reservation and it wasn't even half full, so as a party of 3 we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very courteous and polite, and he was really helpful with explaining the menu to us. As an appetizer, the three of us shared the Spicy Red Hummus, which comes with pita bread. It was delicious, and I'm glad they didn't skimp on the spice. The entrees (Acquapanna Poached Sea Bass and Shellfish Soup & Saffron Rice Tagine) came out pretty quick. The sea bass had so many beautiful flavors coming together. The only downfall of the dish was that the potatoes were slightly undercooked, but still edible. The shellfish tagine was so buttery and the seafood was cooked perfectly. It was a perfect amount of food so we didn't feel grossly full when we left. We got a Lam'Burger to go and it was a nice twist on the classic hamburger. For an interesting and unique experience with Mediterranean cuisine, definitely come here. read more

The food here is very solid, but the service misses the mark so much it's almost not worth visiting. We've called here many times while the business states it is open and have not been able to reach anyone (and there were no ways to order online and their website was broken, so you'd have to find the menu off pictures on Yelp). On one occasion we ordered pickup and had to wait 20 minutes at the restaurant for them to finish the food (all appetizers) after showing up 25 minutes after ordering like they had asked. Most recently we ordered food, were told 25 minutes, so we showed up 40 minutes later (to not have to wait again), and the restaurant was closed - no one there, doors locked, didn't answer their phones. It's one thing if this is late at night near closing, but this was middle of the day on a Saturday, and they're supposedly open 11am - 10pm. No signs or anything on the door, they took our order over the phone and there was no other there. Would probably advise against visiting unless you have a backup option - you can buy the pomegranate molasses to make their muhammara dip at grocery stores locally in case you have a craving. read more

WORST MANAGEMENT AND NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR TIME. We ordered two orders of Mini Chicken Kebab at Servia. The dish was really chewy and no one enjoyed it at the table. When we got the bill, the dish we ordered was listed as Lamb which is when we realized that what we got was lamb and not chicken. We are vegetarians mostly and eat chicken occasionally and have never had lamb before to know the difference. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he talked to the manager and came back with the name changed from lamb to chicken on the bill. This is the most bizarre response to a wrong order we've ever seen... They just lost a customer for good for saving a few $. Also, stay away from the really dry Baklava. read more

I had been meaning to try Servia for a while now and finally got around to coming here on a snowy winter evening. The staff is very friendly and checked in with us hour before our reservation to check if we were going to make it, given heavy snowfall. They kept the restaurant open for us and served us a delicious meal. We ordered eggplant napoleon, muhammara spread, broccoli raab pitza and servia salad. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the broccoli raab and muhammara! (Could not take photos of everything except eggplant Napoleon. Pita was cold and hard, very chewy. Dip was too dry. Dessert wasn't at all how it was described, but we got a refund for that and the waitress serving us was very nice about it. The best hidden gem in Boston right now! So so so good. The menu is very unique and everything was executed to perfection. We were in heaven from the mezze plate on. The care and thought that goes into this food was so obvious, from the starters to deserts. There were so many flavor combinations that surprised and delighted us - one standout was a lemony caviar noddle dish on top of some kind of buttery lemon foam...truly one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had. We also tried two deserts including a "pacha pillow", which had all the flavors of baklava in the form of the lightest, most delicate cream puff you've ever had - it was to die for. We had a menu for a special event, so not everything we ate is on the regular menu, but I will surely be coming back to work my way through the menu! I want to try everything this Chef makes! Can't recommend this place enough...if you want a unique and delicious culinary experience, with dishes you've never had anywhere else, come to Servia! Oh, and the bar is great too! Wow, what a surprise! We were staying at the Marriott across the street, wandered across the street and had one of the best restaurant experiences ever. The Med. menu was excellent, wide variety. If I could provide a higher rating than 5 stars, I would. We will never forget our night at Servia! My wife and I took a weekend away in Boston and stayed near the financial district. We wanted a date night out on Saturday so we pulled up Yelp. Servia showed up at the top of the rankings and had only been open for 5 weeks. I called the restaurant to see if I needed a reservation and the owner Derek mentioned it was a slow night due to snow. He also said that he was looking forward to meeting us and said he would take care of us. Derek wasn't lying! When we arrived he and his colleague were so welcoming and so gracious. They sat us at a perfect table and Derek explained the whole concept of his Mediterranean cuisine. It was so obvious that he truly cares not only about the food he serves and presents, but also about the folks that walk through the door. He was 1000% attentive to us the entire time. By the way, the FOOD WAS AMAZING. We started off with a plate of Muhammara Spread and Hummus. We also had a plate of Olives and the Servia Salad. We accompanied this with a beautiful bottle of Pinot Noir. For our entrees my wife got the Lamb Kebab and I got the Spicy Sausage Pizza. We ended up basically splitting everything because we each wanted to try all of what was in front of us! The food was presented in the exact manner as what was online. I've attached pics. After we were done eating we decided we wanted to move to the bar and have another glass of wine. Derek joined us and we just chatted about life and we got to know each other. Before we knew it, it was 11 pm! I don't typically write lengthy reviews like this but I want the world to know how truly hospitable the staff at Servia was last week. It is long overdue to have true Mediterranean cuisine where dishes are inspired by several countries in that region. The highlights were the Extraordinary grilled octopus (which is hidden under the name of kebab), very juicy and tenter chicken kebab, highly recommended eggplant Napoleon, and super delicious pavlova for dessert. Patricia answered our questions about the menu and recommended great wines to accompany our meal. Chef Claudio is very experienced yet was eager to hear feedback. Everything was very high quality ingredients and well seasoned. We ordered ten small plates for two people and we were very well fed. Tried the scallops and the organic chicken, delicious. The stuffed squash blossoms were crispy and filled with an herbed ricotta - yum. We really loved the sautéed mushrooms, the carrot labneh and the baba ganoush. Discovered this restaurant while staying nearby at Custom House. Had the mezze app for two ( delicious) and the chicken cutlet with chocolate- i am chocoholic so i was curious- absolutely yummy.
