The buffet was so busy this morning even with reservations-felt near capacity. It appeared that managers were also implementing a new strategy/system to keep the omelette station/s lines running smoothly versus the rest of patrons making their way through other food lines/stations. I applaud efforts the team members are doing to streamline the morning lines.The food choices are varied & the crew keeps an eye on presentation & refilling items as they are emptied. I miss fresh berries & stone fruits -- however you can still eat the rainbow with fresh fruits (melons, oranges, pineapple, can peaches), yogurts &granola, grits & oatmeal. There are Latin & Asian food options & multiple meat choices plus pancakes etc. Food kept warm or cold depending on type & to my eyes appears safe & sanitary. I was invited to dinner for their Lobster Buffet (offered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings). Although I can't eat lobster, there were plenty of choices to choose from. RESERVATIONS It was recommended to have reservations; however, you can wait in line and hope to have openings. LOBSTER BUFFET HOURS & PRICE The All-You-Can-Eat Lobster Buffet is from 4:00pm - 10:00pm and the price was $64.95 per person (April 2025). CHECK-IN & PAYMENT Upon check-in and with reservations, our party of 6 still waited in line. The young man at the front handling the payment was not friendly at all - I could tell he didn't want to be there. No smile at all, no greeting, just - blah. SEATING Once you've paid, a host will take you to a seating of their choice (you can't choose where you want to sit). They have plenty of seats; however, we still waited about 5-10 minutes for our table to be set. FOOD & DRINKS Once we got our table, our server Jenny introduced herself to us. She was wonderful! She immediately took down everyone's drink orders and then we were free to wander around the buffet area to make our food selections. Of course, there was a very long line for lobster. What I found out later was they actually had 3 areas serving lobster: left, middle, and right sides of the buffet. One thing to note is that the salad and desserts are all the way to the left side, near the entrance. It's a weird placement being so close to people waiting in line. Also, the prime rib I got was too rare and had the staff heat my slice more thoroughly. There were several people in line waiting to have their slices seared a bit more as well, so that took a long time. Only if they had cooked it properly the first time it would be great. The lamb was not good - being a leaner meat, my slice had a lot of gristle. Much of the food I selected and ate were subpar. It was very disappointing. I think the best thing I ate was a slice of pepperoni pizza because it was still nice and hot. The next good thing I had was the ice cream. Those were the only memorable items I enjoyed. AMBIANCE We sat in the navy blue booths that looked much nicer than the other sections. The lighting was much brighter here and I liked the area we sat in. There were other sections (near the restrooms, for example) that had yellowish lighting. Similarly, the far right side of the buffet had that awful tinge of yellowish lighting. The center area is much more pleasant, although very loud and with many people walking by. Outside of the center area looks very outdated. Yellowish lighting, yellowish wood, etc. STAFF Again, Jenny (she had a birthmark on her face) was very attentive and friendly. She made sure our drinks were filled and we made sure to tip her well. I can't say the interaction between the other staff members were great, as they didn't seem happy (cashier and "seating host"). Overall, I was surprised that a beautiful casino with big entertainers has such disappointing food. Maybe it was an off night? Or is it like this each time? Not sure I'll be back and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends and family. I was thankful for the invitation and the experience to try this out for the first and possibly last time. I've visited the Serano Buffet with my family earlier this week and I've been here a handful of times now. This is the Buffet located in the Yaamava' Casino. The food is pretty good and the buffet is a decent size but it doesn't seem like it's large enough to accommodate the number of people that actually want to eat there. So they are short on space but for what they have been able to manage with the crowds they've done a decent job. It's highly recommended to make reservations well in advance or you won't be able to eat here. They have different types of genres of food here. On the very left-hand side they have desserts and their salad bar. Then they have an Asian section, an American section, some Mexican food and some Italian food as well. So they have a lot of your bases covered and it is a great dining experience. The wait staff here was amazing and they very attentive. They also have a few of those bussing robots that go around so it's kind of fun. If you were looking for a buffet here at Yaamava, this is your only choice but it's a great option for what it is. I think the biggest thing as mentioned before is to make a reservation. Otherwise, there are a lot of other food options here and at the casino for you to enjoy. read more

Great value on Sunday night for their Italian Steak night. Good steaks but not much variety besides desserts. The servers are nice and will make sure your dirty plates are cleared. Make sure you make reservations: super easy but don't forget because it's required. (Not sure how strict that is normally) If you have their gambling rewards card you get 10% off. So on Sunday night, it was 44.99- 10% plus apparently they don't have to charge the state sales tax so it was cheaper than we expected already. (You do have to pay the county tax of like 1% or something) Plus you can use your comps, we didn't have any because we didn't gamble enough I guess. The following is a more detailed breakdown of our experience but you can probably skip it. We went on the Sunday before Memorial day so maybe it's a little different because it's a holiday weekend: We waited in line maybe 20-30 minutes. I'm not sure if that's normal. Inside there were lots of empty tables but because they have to process all the comps and discounts etc, the line going into the buffet is the bottleneck and probably always takes a bit. Sunday evenings are Italian Steak nights but each night has a different theme I think. The steak that day was New York and the seasoning was incredible. I'm not sure how a buffet makes their steaks en masse but it didn't have much char but it was really rare and very tender. Maybe too rare for others but we loved it. We ate so many steaks! They also had a tritip roast but it wasn't that great: a little dry and not much flavor. They also have a wide variety of desserts and a big Asian section plus Italian (of course) and a smaller Mexican section and a salad bar plus fruit. The fruit was actually pretty good. Everything was fine but not great except for the steak and desserts and fruit. Insides it's clean and not too loud so you can talk. There is a 90 minute limit but not sure how strictly that is enforced. Everything looked exceptionally clean and tidy. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area. read more

It's been a while but we came here last night. Our Server Atee was super attentive and so were the rest of the staff around. Buffet had many options and the food was delicious. My favorite was the mini teppanyaki area where they can make your fried rice or noodles with beef or chicken. I usually end with ice cream from the dessert area which is always good. Most of the drinks are included in the buffet price with some exceptions which they provide a list for you. Overall, from start to finish the service was great from the employee that walks around and checks you in while you're in line in the front up to the chefs in the back handling all the food. My family has always had positive and excellent customer service experiences from Serrano buffet not only because of the delicious food choices but primarily because of the exceptional restaurant staff. Judith in the front always presents with a warm welcome and big smiles along with Joseph and his friendly personality. On this day, we had the pleasure of being seated by a very kind and accommodating Damarcus at an accessible table in the front in consideration of my special needs son who is in a wheelchair. We specifically requested for one our favorites, Marnie on this day. We've always had wonderful exemplary service from Marnie because shes so attentive and has always had a delightful, personable and cheerful way about her. And also kindhearted Tierra always comes around checking on our table as well. We are always taken care of.On this last Monday, I did want to mention one negative but was corrected immediately was that a waitress Yolanda came to our table from the start and told us that we are at" her table, her section." And that if I wanted Marnie to be our waitress that day, that we should then sit in the back where Marnie was. I proceeded to tell Yolanda that we were seated there because of my sons need for an accessible table. She insisted on the issue that we were at her table and section. So i pointed out to her that my sons in a wheelchair and needed an "accessible" table and that I'm requesting for Marnie. I've had Yolanda before and was disappointed in her, because she was one that ignored my table throughout the service. I wasn't going to go through that ever again. That's why I requested for Marnie. Still had to wait an hour before the reservation at 4:15. Was in line at 4:00 and got seated at 5:00. The lobster line was a lot shorter once seated. The lobsters were delicious and so were the ribs and fried chicken. The pineapple gelato is also a winner. Still the best buffet in Southern CA! I think they need to be more strict with the time because there are people in line who's reservations were not even close to 4:00 pm. My mother and brother come and visit the buffet frequently but as a family this was our first time. It is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance. Having that reservation was so key. Our time came, we queued up, and was seated shortly after paying our entrance. Fatima was our server for the day and she was very prompt and helpful. All of our drinks were refilled without asking. I have since tried both. I would say I like the crab legs the most because it is just steamed and it isn't as salty as when I had the lobsters. Service can honestly depend on which server you get some servers go above and beyond and I noticed it with Kenny. He was young and quick on his feet to give every table he was serving what they needed. I've been trying to book a simple table for 2 for dinner on my birthday... and the reservation system refuses to work. The app keeps saying "error" or "no tables available." I highly doubt that -- it's a Monday night two weeks from now, lol. And honestly, this isn't new. Every single time I've ever tried to make a reservation here, this has been the result. It NEVER works. Smh. What makes it even worse is that there's no phone number to call to reach anyone at the buffet directly. Absolutely no way to get help, no way to confirm a reservation, no way to speak to a human being. Man am I glad that this was free because I would definitely not be happy if I had to pay retail. I went here for the lobster buffet which occurs on Wednesday and Thursday. It was packed to the brim and there were no available reservations a week out. The only other option was to wait in line to get on a wait-list to get in line, which didn't take very long at around 430 pm. The interior dining area is large but the actual buffet is on the smaller side. They did not have placards describing the items so I had to ask what a few things were. There was also a line for the lobster as expected that moved quickly. They were ready for the crush of people. The selection itself was a bit boring. I'm used to Vegas buffets so I guess my standards are pretty high. I didn't eat very much savory food besides the lobster and some dim sum. I even got a salad. I didn't take pictures because the steam tables were pretty janky looking and unappealing. Desserts were disappointing. Dry or stale was pretty much how they went. Even the ice cream flavors were unlabeled.. not sure why they don't bother. Service was good. They were quick to clear dishes and they were generous with refills and clean napkins.
