    Twilight Brie Basque cheesecake
    Peter Y.

I highly recommend the Twilight Brie Basque cheesecake from Seremi. The molten center is excellent, and the texture is creamy, soft, and refreshingly light. The burnt outer crust has just the right thickness. The jam on top is applied perfectly, and they included a generous amount of fresh blueberries that were sweet and delicious. The presentation is also beautiful, featuring thoughtful design details like gold leaf on top. A great dessert overall!

The pandan coconut chiffon cake was light and fluffy, with a strong pandan flavor that was neither overpowering nor artificial. Everyone had high praise for the cake. Emily also accommodated my request for no coconut flakes. The ordering process was easy. You submit your requested items and pick up date and time, and Emily will send a confirmation. Emily had asked me to pick up in the morning instead of my requested afternoon pickup, but on the actual day, she had forgotten about the switch-up. I had to pick up in the afternoon (or have it delivered for a fee). I would confirm with Emily the day before to double-check. It's pricy, as it's about the same price as what brick and mortar cake shops charge and this doesn't have a storefront. I am curious to try her basque cheesecakes, but may have to wait for a special occasion to justify the price.

Super delicious. The 70 candles are ours, but the happy birthday sign is Seremi's!

Ordered from Seremi for my mom's 70th and I am so glad I tried this place out. The pandan cake was so good. My whole family loved it, and they're not easy to impress when it comes to dessert. The flavor was strong without being artificial, the toasted coconut was perfect, and the whipped cream had just the right hint of coconut. The highest praise an Asian family can give was spoken, "It's not too sweet." Emily was incredibly sweet to work with, and I'm already planning my next order. I need to try her cheesecakes, and her black sesame mochi cookies were HUGE, but the real star was definitely that cake. Highly recommend and I will absolutely be ordering again. Convenient that she's not that far from me too!

Ordered two cakes for my mom's 60TH birthday, she's Vietnamese so she is a heavy jello cake lover but she loved the cakes here! We ordered the pandan chiffon cake and a mango key lime basque cheesecake. The chiffon cake was so moist and soft. The cheesecake's flavor profile also complimented so well. All my family members said it was delicious. If any Asian loves something's it's desserts "not too sweet" and the cakes tasted exactly like that! Also the cakes were decorated sooo beautifully. Could not recommend any other place, support your home bakers!

I went to SJMade and tried their new Milo cheesecake. The rich chocolate flavor, smooth cheesecake layer, and crunchy crust made for a delicious combination and brought back childhood memories. 100% recommend trying this out!

Such sweet people! I was working first aid at the SJMADE festival and they came personally to our first aid booth to surprise my team and I with cheesecakes. The chocolate cheesecake was so creamy. 10/10 would get again!!

Half Blueberry / Half Rhubarb Strawberry Brie Cheesecakes

Delicious cheesecake from Seremi! I was luckily able to try both the Blueberry AND Rhubarb Strawberry brie cheesecakes. The cheesecake base is lightly sweetened, perfect for Asian palates aka "not too sweet". It's not your average cheesecake flavor, but because of the brie - it's a little "funky" in a GOOD way especially if you're into all types of cheeses. The brie gives it a nice distinct flavor and makes you want to keep coming back for more bites. The blueberry topping was a sweet compote topped with fresh crisp blueberries! The rhubarb strawberry also was comprised of a compote and a layer of fresh whipped cream that really balanced it out. Both were great, but I liked the rhubarb strawberry with the fresh cream topping. So good! Pickup was easy and the baker is really accommodating and friendly!

Cake was good. The texture was spongy. Frosting could have been a little more sweet since it is a dessert. It was actually plain whip cream not frosting. Service was great! I didn't realize there was a layer of coconut in between but was sort of a nice surprise. I'm not a raw coconut fan but I did enjoy the cake. I'd definitely try the cheesecake is I ever decided to come back. I don't know if there is an actual bakery or if it's from a house. I was ok with the in hand delivery.

I ordered the Tiramisu Basque Cheesecake and it was perfection! Perfectly well done the consistency, just the right amount of sweetness, it was smooth and creamy truly the start of the night! All my guests loved it. Definitely will order it again! Great customer service, very professional and friendly.

The Honey Apple Cheesecake is delicious and gorgeous. Emily is so sweet and easy to communicate with. The birthday girl enjoyed the cake and pickup was very easy. The pandan cake is also very good. Not too sweet, very springy and light.

    Terimisu and Blueberry cheesecakes... Yum!!
    T K.

Wow... We had the Terimisu and the Blueberry, and both were great! The Blueberry is about heavier, while the Terimisu was a bit lighter (due to different cheese used?). However we loved both!!!

    Black sesame mochi cookies

Omg! I'm so glad I found this homemade bakery! These black sesame mochi cookies are so delicious! It's perfect sweet and mochi is so chewy. I also got the chance to try their basque cake at Santa Clara night market, it's also very very good! Communication with the owner for pick up is also very easy!

    Strawberry Rhubarb Burnt Basque Cheesecake

Ordered the Strawberry Rhubarb Burnt Basque Cheesecake for my husband and he LOVED it! Flavor, texture, and consistency was perfect. Would love to try other desserts from Emily who was also very communicative and easy to work with. Thanks Emily!

I had ordered my dad's birthday cake from here back in 2024 (salted yolk/pork sung/matcha mix…read morecake), and it was absolutely delicious! This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. I will be ordering my next cake from here again!

The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

Ordering is also super easy with their touchscreen kiosks, which I always appreciate. The texture and flavor of their bingsu are on point. The ice is incredibly soft and fluffy with that melt-in-your-mouth consistency you want from a good bingsu. I ordered the mango, and every component was great--the mango was fresh, the toppings complemented everything well, and there was a good balance of fruit and sweetness without being overwhelming. My only small complaint is that I usually love getting both strawberry and mango bingsu, but they don't offer split flavors. Ordering two separate bingsu is just way too much, so I wish there were an option to do half and half. That minor gripe aside, the quality of the bingsu itself easily makes this a 5/5 for me. Great texture, fresh toppings, plenty of seating, and an easy ordering process. Definitely a spot I'd happily come back to whenever I'm craving bingsu!

The shop has a bright, clean interior with a casual atmosphere that makes it an easy place to stop for a refreshing dessert. Seeing stacks of fresh mangoes behind the counter immediately gave me confidence that the fruit would be one of the highlights of the experience. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful. It is the kind of place where you can stop in for a quick dessert or stay a little longer while sharing a few different items with friends. Overall, Hui Lau Shan is a great spot for anyone looking for fresh, fruit-forward desserts with authentic Hong Kong flavors. The quality of the mangoes, the variety of textures, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a place I would happily return to whenever I was craving something refreshing.

My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
