I visited today and you can tell the store is not the same. All the girls who were the best of the best are now gone. The worst customer service ever! My friend and I went here on Saturday for help with our make up before attending a black tie event that night. All we wanted was to receive a FREE service that Sephora offers to all beauty insiders, and instead received rude service from two of the sales associates on the floor. Sorry if we inconvenienced you ladies as you both were standing there talking to each other instead of helping customers which is what you get paid to do. I love Sephora and all but the costumer service is just horrid at this one ... I went on a Friday early afternoon and obviously it's not that busy so you'd think there's a lot of people out on the floor to help me or at least ring me up right?! Wrong it honestly took like 7 mins for the girls who were painting their nails to notice me and my friend waiting patiently to get rung up, if it was busy I'd get it, but come on its dead and you could at least acknowledge me or whatever. read more

I am thrilled to have a full Sephora closer to home. Love it. Went there this past weekend and had a blast. It doesn't seem as insanely crowded as some of the others (thank you God) which is great because often at some of the others (ok almost always) I would walk in and seeing the crush of humanity turn around an walk right back out again. I'm still skeeved about using makeup testers (made no less so by watching many women just whip that mascara wand, or eyeliner out, or swipe their dirty finger through the eye shadow and use it. Really ladies? They offer all sorts of hygienic options to do this, why be so gross and lazy? Blech) But it's a godsend for swatching lipsticks in person and testing perfumes. All of the sales people were amazingly helpful and nice (which lets be honest does not always happen at Sephora) The store is clean and well organized. I was really impressed. So maybe now I can finally use the many rewards points I've racked up. read more

I am a bit hesitant to give a review, as part of my experience was good and I came home with what I hope will be some excellent products but.... my custom makeover very disappointing. I looked a bit like a skull (way too pale with dark eyes) when she was done. The makeup application was not in any way professional. I washed it off as soon as I got home which is not what I was hoping for. The artist was very kind and instructive but she did an extremely poor job with the application (foundation patchy, not well blended, visible concealer, smudgy eyeliner that wasn't even, extremely dark eyeshadow, and a poor mascara job). On the other hand she did help me find products that matched my skin tone and gave me some great tips on eyebrows. The customer service from that aspect was excellent. So, I'd go back for products and tips but I'd be very hesitant for a makeover. Perhaps I had higher expectations than I should have. read more

T E R R I B L E EXPERIENCE, came here on my 22nd birthday (this isnt my go to sephora it was just convenient at the moment) melissa first checked me in (blonde old lady w the christmas sweater) followed me around the ENTIRE TIME, mind you they have a full diverse staff but she wanted to follow me around the entire time, i love makeup, been wearing it for over 10 years now and i even got the job at sephora but turned it down because i know my worth. anyways salma at the check out station was the most helpful out of everyone because she actually cared about my opinion and made me feel a little better about the situation, but the one reason i wanted to work at sephora in the first place is to end color discrimination, i understand its the season and teenagers want to steal but the last thing you should train your employees is to racially profile. even tho i am a 22 year old african american, i will be followed around more in the store than some 16 year old caucasian girls or asian girls especially from MELISSA. thats all i gotta say. mind u this all happened on my damn birthday lol. read more

I literally could not wait to get to this location to check out the Fenty Beauty line by Rihanna. It is close to my home and the store is large enough to make sure there is a variety of products. I was greeted by a beautiful representative that had just the right amount of makeup to put me at ease that I would not look like a over-made clown if she was my MUA. Desiree has a beautiful and patient spirit that did not criticize all of my makeup mistakes. I was so happy that we went over skincare to ensure my skin would be at its best to show off the new makeup line. I appreciated all of the time she spent with me, the recommendations made and shortcuts discussed. Desiree even provided me a cheat sheet for me to ensure I applied the products in the right order. I went into the free standing sephora in Springfield recently. The reason was that I realized I had bee n charged twice for the same item I purchased. I bought the Hour glass Vanish Foundation in Amber at the Pentagon City mall. I was supposed to return a product I did not use that will give some store credit but I had forgotten it the day I made my purcahses. I took it to the Sephora in the Springfield mall. I told the associate that I wanted to use this store credit of $26.50 to pay for some part of the hourglass foundation purchase. What she should have done was return the item and re-rung it. She rung it again.I paid $26.50 in store credit and $22.26 on my Amex Card. That means I already paid $48.76 and paid it again for the same item code HG Vanish Foundation 2027753. I spoke with a store associate for close to 5 minutes explaining this. I thought I was speaking Greek because this is a very simple thing to correct but she could not comprehend it. She got her supervisor who was completely useless to me. She went to get her manager and let me tell you, she was the worst of the 3. She went to the wrong guest when she came out and she visibly irritated to do the job she is being paid to do, bypassing me and she asked the wrong guest"what is this about". The guest looked surprised and she finally came to me. How about "Hi mam, how may I assist you today?" I explained the situation to her, mind you this is the 3rd time I was repeating this and by this time I was tired. She was very rude, dismissive and had a condescending tone throughout the conversation. She kept on saying there's nothing I can do to help you. "How about,let me see how I will be able to resolve this for you" She was unapologetically antagonizing. There were other people at the counter who were listening and watching what was happening and I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me, I was beyond embarrassed and humiliated. I asked her why would I buy the same product 2 days apart form each other. The same item code, it was not even a different code so you can tell if I am lying or not. She said sometimes people stock up on a favorite color. Why would I stock up on a product I have not even used. It does not make sense.This product is available all year round on Sephora.com, in stores and on hourglass.com. It was not a collaboration, holiday or limited edition product. I spend $3000-$4000 a year in Sephora and the gag it is almost always in that particular store. I am VIB Rouge and I am not a Make up Artist neither do I wear that much make up. I go to Sephora because I believed in the brand. It;s time for me to go to Ulta now. The manager was rude and disrespectful and mind you, she is Caucasian and I am a black woman so she looked at me with so much disdain. I need someone from the corporate office to call me. I want that $26.50 credited back to my Amex Card. It is not so much about the money but no one wants to pay twice for the same thing. I presented all my receipts the day I went in and they all had the same item code. The same Hourglass Foundation in that store had a different code so I was not lying. I spoke to American express and they want me to give you some days to correct this or dispute the entire transaction.You have my number, it is on my profile I want a prompt resolution to this and compensation for this humiliation. My mom and I where shopping here with my daughter in her stroller and my daughter dropped a napkin and a lady picked it up and went to talk about how my daughter dropped a napkin on the floor with out me noticing to her co worker in front of my mother who they didn't know was my mom. The cashier that helped me return something had an attitude as soon as I had to return something and worse when I couldn't find my debit card! Horrible. This place truly deserve 0 stars after what happened on 1/16/16. One of their new "manager" janelle, ( tall African American girl ) decided to accuse me of stealing an hourglass brow pencil . Mine was conveniently with me as I thought about going for a darker shade. She approaches me and flat out accuses me of stealing it. Remind you, this was a worn looking pencil that was missing a cap to one side. Once I explained to her she had the most stupidest look on her face and casually walked away as if it was nothing. No apologies or anything. Found another manager to speak with about this incident, she was nice but didn't seem like she really knew how to rectify the situation. So I will be speaking with the store manager to resolve this .... In no way shape or form was this acceptable. Especially when mall security was already present in the store. I had an AMAZING consultant but when I went to check out, something had to be ordered online and, long story short, I ended up being forced to pay for something I didn't want because the cashier processed the wrong item. No one could undo the transaction and now I have the inconvenience of having to return it when it shows up to my home. Won't be doing that again. read more

Visted on 4/20 and the last time I'll visit Sephora. The customer service is horrible even when it is slow. The sales people are more interested in how they look like than assisting customers. And, to the rude 22 year old sales clerk, I wouldn't have to open a drawer if the employees would take the time to make certain the shelves are stocked and organized. Oh, and, if one employee would have asked me if I needed help during the 45 minutes I was there I wouldn't feel the need to open a drawer to help myself. Oh, right, I am over 40, I don't wear make-up like Cleopatra but I do have exponential disposable income, but you don't care. Try Blue Mercury in Old town, a little bit higher cost but better service, some of the same products and better products from non-judgmental employees that understand the benefits of repeat customers. This has to be THEE worst Sephora location. I went with my best friend to try on a few recommended products and we weren't greeted up until 10 minutes of our visit. After the first person asked us if we needed help and we told them that we were ok, we were then watched like hawks. We were then greeted 3 times in a period of 10 minutes by other reps and we also told them that we were ok, we had a list of products we wanted to check out and if we needed help we'd ask. Then the manager approaches us asking what brings us in as if it's a crime to look around a bit before asking for help. I then noticed not only were the reps watching us, but so was the manager. I then told my bestfriend let's leave the store because I don't like the vibes of the store and it's employees. So we leave. Next thing you know, we're approached by undercover Fairfax police offers that question us IN PUBLIC (embarrassing) and they also ask to search my purse. Of course they did not find anything because my friend and I had no intentions on stealing anything from Sephora, rather we were going to purchase a handful of items until we realized that the store employees were watching us as if we were thieves. This was all too embarrassing being as though I was raised in this area, and I also shop from many makeup stores rather it's MAC, Sephora, NYX, and etc. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ALLOW MY FRIENDS NOR MYSELF VISIT THIS UNPROFESSIONAL STORE. read more
