hands down best nail supply store in the DMV area!! there are a ton of supply stores in the seven corners area, but this one is by far the most well supplied, organized, and easiest to find things. the owners are also super nice and always help me find things!! I can always find exactly what I'm looking for, and for great prices. they have a great selection of DND colors and its way better and more affordable than ordering online!! would recommend this place to any nail tech in the DMV area!! read more

I love this place!! I had never heard of this spot and I've lived in the DMV area all of my life. With COVID-19, all of the nail salons had been closed. So, I started doing my own nails at home. I ordered a kit from Amazon. I didn't want to wait or pay for delivery. Someone told me about this spot and I decided to give this spot a try. I am so glad that I did. They had EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that you could possibly need relating to nails. The staff were so, so friendly. Very helping, answering my numerous questions about the supplies that I purchased. If you're a woman who looks after your pretty little paws Sunlight Nail Supply will be a go to spot for ANYTHING NAILS! I love getting my nails done and finding new favorite colors but hate it when I can't keep that color. Sunlight has enabled me to purchase any of the colors I've had painted on at the salon AND at great budget friendly prices. They carry Essie, Opi, China Glaze, Orly, Nail Tech, etc. and I'm pretty sure everything else you'd want or need to get your nails done at home or at a salon. I'd say a lot of the products are sold in bulk however you can buy a large amount of products on a single item basis at the store as well (ie nail polish, nail files, cuticle oil, toe separators). read more

I was desperately in need of some supplies for my beauty studio and I drove all the way from Northern MD to sunlight beauty supply. My normal spot in Hyattsville was closed and so I made way down to Falls Church. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a nice young gentleman who helped me find everything I was looking for. Another client came in and then the owner, Joyce, came out to show me where the rest of the supplies were located, so that the gentleman could help the other client. It seemed to be pretty organized with nails, waxing, brows, eyelash supplies etc all grouped together on their respective shelves. There weren't prices on many of the items but Joyce was very patient when she learned that I am a business owner who traveled pretty far to shop at her store. Great prices. Nice, clean store. Love love love! They have ample parking day and night as it is inside a strip mall and coincidentally right next to Sally's Beauty Supply. They have $2 generic nail polish, and OPI, ESSIE, CHINA Glaze for more but I forgot how much. The staff is Vietnamese and a little loud but the cashier is a really nice Mexican lady. read more

Essie, OPI and Orly - Oh my! There aren't many (or any) stores that carry a huge selection of OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Orly etc. close to DC/Arlington but this place has aisles of it. There were too many products for my eyes to take in during a lunch break from work. So excited to find this place and can finally stop going to Target to only find 4 random bottles of OPI and 6 ugly Essie colors. TIPS - It's tucked off of Rt 50 next to the Safeway in the Target shopping center - Not the prettiest store I've ever been in, be prepared to shimmy through aisles - Definitely a place to ask questions if you're not a professional. I love nail polish! Opi, Essie, China Glaze, Orly, Color Club, Nail Tech, etc. I LOVE NAIL POLISH! If you are a babe on a budget. You may need a beauty license to buy some of the products, but great place to buy nail supplies. Prices are great. the owner sometimes is having a day ( bad day I might add) lol. But the casheir (hispanic lady) is to die for. She is sweet as pie. I go every two weeks! My nail polish collection is just outrageous! But what can I say! This is from an experience back in August 2015 (I never hit 'post' on this review lol) .....I was so excited to go to this place as I do my own acrylic nails with extreme designs. I went there to spend some major money on products and equipment. To be honest....I think I hate this place. Nothing has prices and the woman seemed anoyed when I kept asking for prices. There is absolutely no order in the store. Everything is tossed everywhere. Nothing is even grouped in categories. I went there looking for some specific items and could not find it in all the unorganized chaos so I asked for help. The woman seemed annoyed but she AND another employee were helping one person so I figured someone could assist me. I must have been an annoyance. I asked where the primers were located, I received an abrupt answer "all over, everywhere" then she walked away. I could draw this story out but I made several attempts to make this experience good but it was horrible. I suggest trying a diifferent place. I'm pulling out the parking lot and off to a new place now. Update: I left the store then walked back in because I really needed my items ASAP. I explained to here that I was having a horrible experience in the store - which was drastically different from other people's experience I read online. I politely stated, "So, let's try this again." Everything was smooth after that point. Once I left I noticed there is another nail store down the street, which looked more organized and presentable. They're closed every Saturday though, so I had to make Sunlight Nail Supply work that day. It's now October 31st and I have no desire to go back to that store. read more

I've been in here several times at different hours of the day, and usually no problem. I can buy wholesale which, honestly is why I drive over there! Today was the first time they told me oh, you have to pay cash for wholesale nail polish. I was the only customer in there, after they opened late to start with! I only bought half of what I wanted to, because I was frustrated with the cashier's service! On the first trip I did buy massage lotion which was fantastic because They did have the brand I love! I've recommended this nail supply store to my friends and family. I"ve been here multiple times to purchase Essie nail polish over a year now. I've paid around $3.50 to $3.75/Essie polish. Now, why the one star review? Each time I enter the store, I ALWAYS ask how much Essie nail polishes are b/c 1.) I am not vietnamese 2.) Nail polish prices are not labeled 3.) I've read reviews where they will try to jip you once you're at the register. I never really had a big issue until today. I walk in and I ask the nice hispanic gentleman how much the Essie polishes are. He asks me whether I have a nail technician license, I said no. He said they are $3.75/each. I think okay, that's around the price I paid before, it maybe a little more sometimes which is completely fine. I get to the register, another hispanic gentleman says they are $5 dollars each. That's when I question him and tell him that 1.) I've been here multiple times and they are roughly around $3.75 each 2.) I confirmed the price with them in the very beginning. They go to the owner who is a man who is sitting on the computer in the corner of the store. Without looking up, he says the price is 5 dollars. Now, at this point. It's not about the money, it's the PRINCIPLE. Even though they are charging me 1.25 more than what I was quoted, I refused to even pay a dollar more than what was quoted. Sure, if they said it was $5 in the beginning, then I'll pay the $5. It's the fact that they were trying to jip me b/c I'm not vietnamese. The owner then says 'okay 4 dollars'. No. I said $3.75 or else I'm going to the nail supply store down the street. The owner goes 'okay, fine just this ONE time'. Well damn right just this one time b/c I won't be back! I recalled the last time I came here, they tried to up the price for the base & top Essie coats when in the beginning, I confirmed they were the same price as all the other Essie polishes.. Too bad the workers are giving me the correct price in the very beginning which make things very awkward when trying to pay when the owner keeps telling them to try to sell it at a higher price. This place appears to sell old or used nail polish and wax supplies. No one speaks English well and customer service is not good. If you want great customer service go to sally beauty in falls church. You might spend a dollar or two more on opi and essie nail polish but at least it is new and fresh products. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that's had issues with buying nail polish from here. If your vietnamese the cost is $3.75 if you're white it's $5. With that being said $5 for essie or OPI is still cheaper than the drugstore and they do have a much larger selection and harder to find colors. The are more expensive than two other nail supplies which are both within walking distance from this store. And this price discrepancy happens at the other places too sometimes $3, sometimes $4 and they won't even talk to you if you're not vietnamese. At least at sunlight they SPEAK to you. So with that being said, it's still a good deal wholesale for polish. I wish they had a better return policy though on other items (not polish). read more
