I COULD HAVE WENT BLIND. DO NOT GO HERE. It was my first time here and I went to get lashes done. I woman was younger, probably in her 20s. I should have known she wasn't experienced because she seemed nervous and didn't understand the questions I was asking her. After she put 3 lashes on me, SHE SPILLED GLUE ALL OVER MY EYE. It burned so bad, another lady took me to rinse my eye with water. She told me it was my fault because I need to keep my eye closed. She LIED and said cleanser fell on my eye. How could that be true when we cleansed my eye before the procedure and there was already 3 lashes glued to my eye? I had to rush to the eye doctor and luckily my cornea was okay. He said chemical eye injuries could have left me blind. That night he told me if my pain got worse, I had to go to the ER. Moral of the story. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Had a groupon for a $65 value for an SNS mani. 11am appt. i arrived 5 mins late but was helped immediately. I had on SNS w/tips but 5 were already completely off. only half my nails needed taken off. This mani took TWO HOURS!!!!! It was done at 12:55pm!!! Colors I chose were completely not what I chose from the display book. i was charged for removal of the 5 nails. I chose a very very dark crimson red color and a sparkly gold color for an accent nail. see pic. The nails are varying shades (some lighter than others) but it is a Berry red & PINK sparkles!? I am highly disappointed with my nails but have no time or patience to have them redone elsewhere since that took two hours of my time. Usually this would take 50 mins-1 hour. Update: post 8 days after SNS manicure. Right pointer finger nail fell off, had to glue it back on. Nails are scratched or smudged. I was very impressed with the quality of the mani and pedi I received, and would definitely consider making this my regular salon if I lived in the area. I've never been so disappointed with a dip powder manicure in my life. My nails started chipping after 3 DAYS when they usually last 3-4 weeks with a SNS manicure. My nail technician also didn't mention to me that there was $10 polish removal fee until after she was done. I've been getting dip powder manicures for over a year now from several different salons and I've never been charged a "removal fee". I wouldn't be complaining if she had told me there was a fee BEFORE she started doing my nails or if it was listed on their website, but it isn't. Lastly, I was at the nail salon for over 2 hours and I did make an appointment beforehand... Dip powder manicures should take no more than hour. I can't speak for their other services, but I highly advise against buying their Groupon for SNS. read more

But I've started working out here for longer periods of time and needed someone local. I called and she got me an appointment the next day, on a Friday afternoon! The appointment took about an hour and a half for what East Coast people call a hybrid set. It's fairly normal where I'm at. But she was very meticulous, filled every section, they looked natural, even, and full. These are the kind of lashes you don't have to wear makeup with, no eyeliner, they look so good! Amazing first time experience in this little hole in the wall spa. I purchased a Groupon for spa pedicure and gel manicure. Bonnie did an amazing job with my pedi. I told her my problem areas and she worked right through them. My gel manicure was absolutely devine. The last two gel mani's I got barely lasted a week. Easily chipped and the quality wasn't good. However, Bonnie was able to give me the gel mani i was looking for. The quality of the pre and post polish make such a difference. She worked around my cuticles through and through (I have terrible cuticles). I'm still looking at my mani with a big smile on my face. Bonnie, you rock! CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS 100% They close at 7 but because of my previous horrendous gel mani it took foreverrrr to remove the polish. They stayed open until 8:15 for me and another client! They weren't pushy at all! I believe it was the manager or owner (blonde Vietnamese lady, leather jacket and glasses) was friendly and not-at-all pushy. Alright...so i never usually write reviews but i had such an AMAZING experience here that it would honestly be selfish of me not to share! A few weeks ago i got my lash extensions done at a different business. I had such a bad reaction to them that my eyes looked like pink bubbles the following day. I was literally panicking...and by a miracle i stumbled upon this place on google. I called and Holly was super understanding and was able to help me asap. When i got there she made me feel extremely comfortable by being super welcoming and attentive. She seemed extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly explained to me the reasons my eyes reacted so badly (It was bc my last eyelash technician placed my eyelashes way to close to my lids and used an extremely harsh glue). Apparently, Holly's been an eyelash technician since 2008...and it really showed! Anyways, i was told that it usually only takes 5-10 min to removed eyelash extensions, but since mine were so close to my eyelid and so bonded, Holy spent 1 HR, patiently picking off each extension and was careful not to damage my actual eyelashes. Not only that, she took the time to get to know me and was overall just a really nice person to talk to during the process. Sooo overall, i would highly recommend visiting her salon! Groupon brought me to this little gem. I got the dip powder manicure by Holly and she was fantastic! I've gone to a few nail salons in the DMV area and this place can't compare. The Groupon isn't very clear but if you do purchase the dip powder option it doesn't come with a manicure (ie. file, cuticles, etc) so that's an extra $15 but it's totally worth it. Holly took her time in filing my nails and made sure it's the shape and length I wanted. It's clear she loves what she does because of the effort and precision that went into my nails. Another fun perk is after 5 visits you get 50% off so it's like you invest 10% each time you come in. I have hundreds and hundreds of reviews on trip advisor but I have to give respect to Ms. Holly and her new shop unfortunately Trip Advisor is not the right forum to comment on her new place. Ms. Holly is like family and so is her outstanding co-workers/staff. So often, nail salons seem to fake with the "hi how are you" greeting and you look handsome - why you don't have GF... because they are hungry for tips they will pay with your head and feelings. Also, a lot of time nail techs will seem angry or mean or rush you out and always very late honoring appointments. Not the case here at Lashes and Nails. I met Ms. Holly at another big chain nail salon and she has carried her passion for customer service and excellence with caring to this new shop. I'm very picky about the manicure and pedicure process due to my cuticles, hang nails and fast growing nails and Holly and her staff pay attention to your needs with great detail. Here place is also one of the few places that have Wifi that works and water and snacks and it is currently all free. There is also a coupon for 30% off first visit. This place looks small from the outside but is bigger once you come inside. The nail salon has a separate lash bar for individual lash extensions. It was very clean and you can see that the tools used were sterilized. I saw them clean the pedicure chairs after each client's use and they also placed hygienic covers in the foot tub for each client. The pedicure chairs were also massage chairs! Holly, the manager, was very nice, professional and friendly. Her mom is a nail technician as well (she was also very sweet). Holly was upfront about the prices for the nail services I requested and there were no hidden costs. I did the gel manicure and spa pedicure (they came with nice hand and leg massages)! I wouldn't recommend this place for SNS (powder dip) I came across this place via Groupon, and figured I would give it a try because they had decent reviews. They asked me not to buy the Groupon and they'd honor the price at the salon once I'm there- I was fine with that. I can't speak for the other services they provide, but I didn't have a good SNS experience. Their colors are very limited. Staff was kind, but the work was terrible. The woman who did my dip must have dipped my nails about 4-5 times, then filed it down because it was WAY too thick. I had to ask her to thin them out multiple times (through translation via another employee) Once the color was on, I noticed the polish looked like it had different tones? Or maybe she just missed it in some areas? I brought it up to Holly, who I think is the owner, and she told me SNS is new and that this color was two tone. What? Why wouldn't I be told that before applying the color? I even asked about the color a few times as I was deciding between two, there was no mention of it then. I told her she should let people know about potential two tone colors before applying it when it lasts about 3 weeks. So now I am stuck with a two tone color that I'm not a fan of for 3 weeks, not to mention how thick the polish looks on my nails- I am actually going to a different place this week just to get it all removed because it's SO thick. My nails look awful- waste of my money. SNS dip should take 35 minutes max, I was there for over an hour because she kept dipping, then filing, removing, then dipping- only for it to come out the way it did. Very thick- not natural at all. The polish also isn't in the lines of nail- all over my cuticles, messy job. Again, staff is nice- but their work isn't. read more
