It's such a great way to take care of yourself, especially during the dreaded dry-skinned winter months. They have a great selection of colors and I'm always able to pick out something I like. I called at 4:30 to make an appointment and they were able to accommodate and take me immediately in the next fifteen minutes. They were courteous on the phone, the most out of the other spas (3!) I had called that day. I chose to go to this spa purely because they picked up the phone with the most respect and without rush unlike the other salons. I was immediately seated for my first experience getting an acrylic set. I was nervous reading lots of bad reviews from other establishments about nail salons in general -but that was not the case here. Ken is excellent at doing what he does. He was quick, thorough, gentle and when he made a mistake on a nail I could only see under a microscope or without his attention to it, he immediately stopped what he was doing and fixed his mistake. That shows he takes pride in the work he does, as he should. I have a strong feeling, he enjoys what he does and the praise he gets for it. After it was all finished, I thanked him and said my nails looked beautiful and he lit up and said thank you, thank you. I don't know who was happier. My nails look stunning and as a perfectionist I went home and looked for a possible mishap or a mistake but found none. He works intricately, paying great attention to detail, until your nails are perfect. That being said, he isn't slow, either, but steady, skilled, and flawless. I can say nothing detrimental regarding his work. And for all this, their prices are entirely reasonable. A full set of gel nails are $40, and a fill is only $25. While I was getting a pedicure last week, I met a woman who had moved to Ashburn (about a 45 minute drive), and said she had found no one in her area with near comparable quality, so for all her nail needs, she makes the trek out to Nail Passion, and it's worth every penny. Tina is a splendid pedicure technician. She's been doing this for years, and has a wealth of devoted customers. Pedicures are $22, which is again beyond reasonable for the services you will receive. Kan does an amazing job on my nails every time. He really listens to what I want. I always get acrylic full set nails .. and he always gets the shape right and makes it look very natural. I also love their nail color selection. They always have this baby pink color that I love and also have a variety of other colors as well. I've gotten a pedicure there too. Nothing too special that I have to say about it. She did a great job. I would like to come back and try to get the deluxe pedicure. I saw a lady next to me getting one done and it looked so relaxing and invigorating. From looking at other people's reviews, I probably would not get my nails done by anyone else there other than Kan. I haven't tried another technician, but I don't want to risk it either. I really really want to like this place, but I just can't. I have been there twice and the location is great, the inside is nice and it is very clean. I just can't fall in love with it for the following reasons.... The massages given during the treatments are so lacking. I had a spa pedicure this last weekend and seriously, my 6 year old nephew could have given me a better massage. My feet were hardly touched and my legs were kind of passively rubbed. They have multiple pedicure chairs and when I went in they were all available but then they sat someone directly next to me. The two technicians talked to one another the entire time. I'll say it a million times, I go to get my nails done and pay for a spa pedicure so that I can relax, not to listen to people talk the entire time. The manicure I got was again, just OK. My nails are not filed evenly and whatever products they used on me were not good. 4 days later my polish is already chipping and peeling. I also think based on the quality of the service their prices are too steep. They either need to increase their quality or lower their prices. I doubt a third time will be a charm so I am staying far far away from this place. If mediocre is ok for you then it's likely your type of place.... read more

The area is very clean and there are new pedi chairs, with a tub that lights up..It also has a built in leg holder.. No more helping to hold your own leg..great idea and better for the customer and the staff. There looks to be alot of gel colors but im not sure cause i get regular color. The staff goes out of their way to make you happy. Theres plenty of parking and its not cramped inside the salon either like some establishments, feels like your in someones lap. My friend was literally locked in the store today when the owner got mad at her for changing her nail color too much and started to scream at her. Other than that, they've always been great. Really. We've been going here for a while now - every month or so for manis/pedis. And they've always been wonderful. They're gentle, polite, have good equipment, and a good selection of colors. Plus, they're not too pricey. But today was absolutely horrifying. Yes, my friend changed her nail color twice because she didn't like either. But she was being really polite about it, "um, ma'am, I'm sorry, but this color isn't working either. I'm really sorry." That's how the convo started. I don't think the woman understood English, because she began painting another nail. So again, my friend interrupts. This time, the gentleman who usually works the front desk - I assume the owner - turned on her as viciously as a rabid dog. "No! This is over! You changed color already! You can't make up your mind, you're done. Get out now. No more work. She's already been working on your feet for so long. She did work, you don't deserve it!" To which my friend responded, "I know, I'm sorry, and I will tip her well for her services, but I don't like this. I always leave a tip, I understand she's working hard." "Tipping is optional! No, you're done. You can't make up your mind! No more!" At this point, he's up and screaming at her, actually screaming, and the girl doing her nails has walked away, effectively ending the pedicure. Understandably, my friend has now turned for the door to walk out. Yes, without paying, but I think it's justified when she's being screamed at and kicked out with only two nails painted. So the man runs for the door and LOCKS HER IN THE STORE!!! Seriously. He locked the door and told her he'd call the police if she refused to pay and she said "yes, go ahead and call the police and let them know you're abducting me." Finally, a woman who I guess goes there a lot told the owner, "let her go, this isn't worth it." And so he unlocked the door and told her, "get out! Go!" I'm sad because we really liked the place up until today. And if my friend had been a jerk about it, I'd understand his reaction. But he was just angry at her for not making up her mind and EXPLODED. I've never seen someone get that mad that quick in any professional setting. It was completely undeserved, irrational and rude. I wish I could review them based on how great they were up until today, but this was so inexcusable that it negates all previous positive experiences there. read more

So I am giving this place 2 stars due to the experience I had about a week ago. I have been coming to this place for about a month because they do great acrylic nails. As in, they make them look very natural and don't pile on the acrylic etc... I usually come in and get a pedicure and a fill. However, last week I just went for a quick pedicure before I left for vacation. I called ahead and made an appointment. The pedicure was smooth sailing. While I was there I decided I wanted to change my nail polish. Not a full fill in, just to change my color. I finish my pedi and tell the lady I would like to change my nail color. She says sure and takes me over to a chair to do so. Now, while this is going on they have become busy. There are people waiting in the sitting area and people in the pedicure chairs waiting as well. The owner comes out from the back and asks the lady doing my nails (in another language) why she has not started doing this other lady's pedi. She explains to him that I wanted my nail polish changed. He comes over and says " she can't change your polish" I stare at him blankly because I can't believe he would turn down more money and try to send me on my way. He continues by saying "you didn't make an appointment for a polish change, just a pedicure". I am so surprised by his reaction but I say back to him "she doesn't have 5 minutes to change my polish?" He says no. I say: "well she has already taken my polish off, I need polish on my nails". so visually frustrated he tells her to finish and scrambles to find someone else to help out. This place is busy because they are good, but the owner shouldn't stomp around and deny services because he is busy. He should hire more people or schedule the appointments further apart so everyone isn't coming all at once. Or tell the walk-ins to wait. But he definitely shouldn't hurry the returning customers or he won't have any returning customers. Also, they constantly let their little girl run around the shop. I don't mean to be rude but people come to relax at a nail shop. They shouldn't let their child run around and spin on the wheely chair and ask everyone what their name is. Most customers seem to not mind, but it is a little annoying when you come to get your nails and toes done and relax or talk with a friend and there is a child running around being noisy and her parents are constantly telling her to stop or behave. It's just not the spa atmosphere I imagine. Anyway the work here is good and you will be happy with your nails but you might not come back due to the owners attitude and atmosphere. read more

I called to see if I needed an appointment- I didn't and the man on the phone told me to come on in. I needed tips done and there was a special for shellac color for free. The woman who did my nails was quick but meticulous. I never had shellac done (always go with french) and went with the manic color. I can honestly say I drive from Capitol Hill (18 miles) because not only are their prices beyond reasonable, they remember your name, make you feel at home, and their Shellac lasts three weeks not two! I am in love with my toes and nails everytime I go! Got a gel manicure every 2 weeks and they were great if I didn't do much with my hands. There was only a few times my manicure lasted the full 2 weeks without any issues. They're nice about fixing and not charging but if your gel starts to peel off and you pick at it like me, they'll charge you $2-5 extra per nail when you go back for a refill. Always had to ask for natural nails or else the gel would be clumpy. The quality is pretty lacking, I definitely DO NOT recommend getting acrylics because the first time I came here and got a full set, all the nails came off within a day like they didn't even stick to my real nail. Owner is really nice and polite but the guy who does nails rushes and doesn't do lotion or the hand massage at the end. All in all, this is a nice place if you need to come in last minute for an inexpensive mani that won't look awful. read more

I had read some of the reviews so when I went in, I was prepared to possibly have someone rude on the other end of the manicure table. I had an acrylic fill and got them painted and it did turn out to be the man, but I have to say my nails came out fabulous and he was normal and nice the whole time. However, I didn't use his table to play dress up with my nail color- I treated him cordially and knew I wanted hot pink, so I picked hot pink and he painted my nails hot pink. If you change your nail color twice and try to leave without paying, you really can't review the business badly. If you don't know what you want, don't go get your nails filled. Yes, most nail techs will tolerate one polish change if you don't like the first nail, and that's industry standard. If I didn't like my second choice, I'd be like, okay, I really can't make my mind up today, guess I'll live with this weird mauve that I picked for a week- because it won't kill me. And then I'd pay. And tip. Also, you're not paying for friendship or therapy. These people are not required to chat up bored housewives. They have their own friends and lives. Get over it. I don't think this guy is bad. It's a matter of respect. My sense of him was that he has been talked down to and jerked around by demanding people. I have had rude nail techs before, who mistreat you or blatantly disparage you in another language, but I don't think that's the situation here. If you're a respectful person who wants quality work, check this place out. I've had a hard time finding good acrylic techs since I moved to this area and this guy does know what he's doing. Yeah, he doesn't seem like he likes being jerked around, but if you aren't into jerking people around, you should be ok here. And pretty nails! read more

Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon around 4pm for a walk in with a friend and they squeezed me in. I got gel nail removal & a gel manicure. The total came out to $30. Overall, it was just ok. I could tell the lady was rushing bc she had her next clients waiting but i wish that she had just told me she couldn't accommodate me then. The manicure was fine but definitely could have been neater. She took her time with the hand massage at the end though which is why I would say that this is a place I would go back to in a bind but probably not as my go to. I'm sure that under no time constraints, she would have done a better job. Otherwise, the price was reasonable and the facilities were clean. They also have a lot of shellac color options. But you need to know exactly what you want. I would say she wasn't the most creative when it came to recommending colors when I showed her a picture of what I wanted. I stopped by after work for a mani-pedi. There were only two other customers there, so I can't attest to wait times. Tracy greeted me right away. She was great about describing the available services. I decided on the basic mani-pedi after she explained that it included a paraffin treatment, which was something I wanted to try. They offer a huge selection of polish colors, super-comfy (perhaps magic) massage chairs, and complimentary cold bottles of water. My technician, Dang, did an excellent job. He was very careful and thorough in dealing with my admittedly untended cuticles on both toes and fingers. He always asked what I wanted and if it was okay for him to proceed. The man was very thorough but once I got home I noticed he didn't get all of my old nail polish off the cuticles! And the painted tips were imperfect...hand-done so understandable, but still!
