Lesson for using Groupon is that to do your own research before buying any deal on Groupon. Tried to call multiple times before anyone answered and customer services was practically nonexistent there. I ended up not using my coupon because of such a bad experience trying to set up an appointment. UPDATE: Here's the message I received from the owner when she saw my review earlier today... You said you told me twice...hogwash. You are right about the bikini thing, I did mention it, but I specifically asked about the Brazilian waxing and type of wax used to which you hung up on me. Now, whether you did not hear me or you simply ignored me, it is of no importance now. Hanging up on a potential client(s) when they were trying to get proper information to tell others is just plan rude. I now know you couldn't be bothered to talk, because you were busy or you had to powder your nose. In that case, have someone else answer the phone who is a little more knowledgeable than you. Two weeks and holding strong. I tried here because of the Groupon. I must admit, the Yelp reviews had be a little worried but I decided to give it a try anyway. I had recently decided to attend a reunion and figured I would get my nails done before heading out. I know it sounds silly but all that hand shaking, picture taking, and yoga on the green was easier with nice nails. They (Kevin and Jenny) worked together helping me. I thought they did a good job. My finger nails came out the perfect shape for me. I thought they had good color selection, both regular and shallac. The pedicure chairs are comfy. The place is clean and open and right off of Maple Ave in downtown Vienna with plenty of parking. It was a relaxing mani / pedi experience. read more

Let preface that I am an experienced Brazilian customer of 11 years...Based on previous posts and a need for a quick brazilian, I went to Vienna Nails & Spa. ABSOLUTE WORST BRAZILIAN WAX I'VE EVER HAD! 1.) The wax used is NOT Brazilian wax, nor is the method Brazilian. They use the wax and strips used for thinner hairs like brows and lips. They DID NOT use the blue brazilian wax. I noticed this and asked if they had the proper wax for bikini areas, and she replied they use the same wax for everything for everyone. As you know, the wax is thicker, more pliable and does not require strips. This wax is specific to bikini areas as it effectively pulls out the stronger, thicker hairs down in your private area. 2.) It hurt like hell! Know why? Because the lady literally ripped my hairs using the wrong kind of wax, instead of pulling them out from the root using Brazilian wax. Below and behold, I was itchy within a few hours. Trust me, the $40 price is not worth the amount of ingrown hairs you will have. If you enjoy trying to pull out ingrowns with a tweezer for a week or two, then maybe you don't mind the $40 price. I'd much rather pay $60-80 for a real Brazilian that lasts for 3-4 weeks. That said, I've never had my nails done there, so this review only reflects their Brazilian waxing services. read more

Kevin and Jenny are terrific and Sonny and Anna good too. Kevin did a gel and manicure in white today that was impeccable. The Spa is certified and professionally cleaned. Personally Kevin and Jenny role out the red carpet when you arrive and suggest color if needed. I've been going to Kevin and or Jenny for five yrs. who do a perfect treatment on my feet and hands. They are wonderful and worth every penny. Also, what sells me is how clean the Salon is. Kudos treat yourself. read more

If I could give a 0 star, I would. Yes, I purchased Groupon and I understand that businesses might not be too happy about customers actually using it. But this place was by far the worst... As you can see in the pictures, not only did I wait 30 minutes but they did a very sloppy job. Nail polish going past my cuticles, air bubbles, unevenly colored.. oh and yes they will treat you differently and make it very obvious but they're not happy about you using Groupon. I still tipped though. I am a big tipper, especially if I used Groupon or any other promo, bc my mom supported my family the same way. I should have left without tipping them.. Will not go back. I stopped in here about 2 years ago and had an okay experience, but remember feeling very rushed. While I was in the area this weekend I decided to avoid parking at the Galleria where my usual salon is and try this place again. The salon itself is clean, bright, but unremarkable. They had a TV playing some infomercials, but otherwise it was completely silent which was weird. It was also strange to be in a relatively large nail salon with very few people actually in it. When I walked in there were 3 people working in the salon. One woman stepped away from her client and set me up in a pedicure chair, and a few moments later when she was done with her client and started my pedicure. While she did an okay job, it was one of the quickest pedicures I have ever had. During the time I was sitting in the pedicure chair a mother and her two daughters, a couple, and a few other lone women came in the salon, but they were told that their wait times would be about an hour. This didn't effect me directly, but had I shown up 10 minutes later I would have been one of the people that was told my wait would be an hour. It didn't make sense to only have three people working on a Saturday. Anyway, after my pedicure I went to my manicurist's station. It was very clean, and I liked how the UV lights are built into the tables, but they do not sure new instruments on every client which means those tools have been used to snag someone elses cuticles. Gross!! As far as the manicure itself- the color I picked was very light and I thought it would require 3 coats of polish, but the technician who was taking care of me only put on 2 coats, so I can still see my nail bed through the polish. Upon closer observation this is apparent on my toes as well, but to a lesser degree. Also the technician kept snagging my cuticles causing me some discomfort, and leaving open tears around my nails (see photo). Bought a $28 Groupon for the Spa Gel Manicure....originally $60. This is NOT $60 worth of service. Paraffin comes with most good manicures today, got a bit of a sugar and something scrub. The GEL itself is what I am not impressed with. CND is my go to, but this seems like it had been diluted, two nails baked with smears, one chipped off after a few days. I bought the Pedicure Groupon, too, but they would not let me use it at the same time, even though two of the technicians were reading magazines when I was there. And Kristy is amazing! She listens to my concerns and applies them to her service AND sometimes kshe will come in early to fit my schedule. Great technician all around. The owners are always there when I am. I've been looking for a good clean salon that doesn't over charge and is convenient. I accidentally found this place one afternoon and can't tell you how pleased I was with the service. Kevin took me right in and was so professional with his recommendations. My nails are seriously damaged from years of having acrylic overlay and I finally decided to take them off. He was meticulous in explaining his process as he wanted to make sure while my own nails are grown and get repaired, careful applications of layers of gel is applied. I truly appreciated his thoroughness and professionalism, I will definitely be back. Also, Sonny from Allure Nails is working here now. After his departure, I stopped going to Allure after a horrible service from their replacement employee. Give Vienna nails a try. I got a brazilian and mani/pedi from here. They use numbing spray and blue wax for the brazilian, but I have to say it didn't help make it less painful for me. The result was decent but don't expect Tammy from Polished quality from here. I think the mani and pedi is lasting pretty long due to them wiping your nails clean with an alcohol or acetone (not sure) pad before applying the polish. But I prefer the way JD Nail Salon shaped my nails and applied the polish. Bottom line: I would come back for an emergency but there are better places nearby. read more

My elderly mom and I had a wonderful outing getting spa pedicures and a new set of gel nails today. They have all brand new pedicure massage chairs which are hygienic with individual bowl liners. My mother commented on how much easier these lower chairs are to access for older people with disability. I have been to many nail salons over the years in Vienna and Vienna Nails is by far my number on choice because of the excellent customer service and high quality of the materials they use. I have never had a bad pedicure here. The spa pedicure costs more but is SO worth it. I almost always get spa pedicure because Kevin gives a firm massage if they want that and it is so relaxing. French manicured gel nails last and last unlike a lot of nail salons. Selection of OPI and other gel polishes is large. Highly recommend Vienna Nails for 5 star servi read more

After a few minutes they gave me the colors to choose from. 10 minutes later no one said anything. 10 minutes later a man smiled and nodded. 10 minutes later I couldn't stand being ignored and said I was leaving. They took people from the pedicure section to the manicure section and did their nails even though I was waiting. No one said anything to me or indicated when I would be next. Whether I schedule an appointment, or walk-in last minute, they treat me like their top priority and always make sure that I leave with a smile on my face. I go to Kevin religiously--He is meticulous in his craft. As a kindergarten teacher, I am constantly on my feet, working with my hands and putting out five/six year old fires. I don't enjoy getting my nails done but it's something I do because I am a serial cuticle picker and it helps me to resist the urge. This salon is on the way to my child's daycare, nice and convenient, so I went in for a dip manicure, chose a whitish color with a purple undertone. The corresponding dip product was bubblegum pink. By the end of the manicure after realizing no magic was going to turn the color to the one I selected, I pointed out to my manicurist that the color was wrong and completely unapologetically, he said it must have been mismarked. I didn't have time to start over - I was on the way to pick up my son. He then tried to finish my dip manicure with gel nail polish under the UV LED light, which I refused (I've had DOZENS of dip manicures and haven't seen a UV LED light used once - am I mistaken?). I paid and left but called the next day to have my nails fixed - it wasn't sitting well with me. To their credit, they were more than accommodating and flexible to fix my manicure, but not without trying to prove to me the whole time that were doing SNS correctly and if I'd let them do it the first time, I wouldn't be back. I allowed them to use the gel polish under the UV LED light at their insistence that it would make my nails stronger and it was the correct process. Anyway, 3 days later and 4 of my 10 nails have chipped. This was a really really disappointing experience. read more

I started with a fresh set and the man doing my nails put on of the tips on completely crooked, and was going to leave it that way until I insisted he redo it. well i wish i read a few more reviews before venturing into this place, so i wouldn't have to have wasted the $45!!! my 2 girlfriends and i wanted to get our nails done at LOVELY NAILS down the street (read my earlier review on them, they rock!!!) unfortunately LOVELY NAILS was too busy so i did a quick search for another salon in the area and came up with vienna nails & spa. BAD idea. this place looks fine. it appeared clean and pleasant enough. but honestly, it's the actual work of the nail technician that really was atrocious. unfortunately i don't remember any of their names, but 2 out of the 3 of us had the worst mani-pedi-job-EVER. the sides of my nails, hands and feet mind you, both were filled with nail polish! i prefer my polish on my nails, thank you. then my friend. either the nail tech's eyes were bad, or she just sucked altogether, she literally painted HALF of each nail. we're not sure if she was thinking that she was too close to the cuticle? or maybe she just didn't know what the hell she was doing. this was the worst mani-pedi ever! suffice it to say, none of us will not be returning here. read more

I have been here three times and have had a wonderful experience each time. I went yesterday for a French mani and pedi and accidentally walked in right before closing. I had no idea they were closing and the gentleman assured me it was no problem. I kept saying I could just get a pedicure and leave but he said it was no problem. He stayed an extra hour to finish everything and even applied an extra coat of clear polish when I requested it. He was in no hurry and did a phenomenal job. I was blown away by his kindness. Unfortunately, I think this salon has gone downhill since the other Yelp reviews. My first visit, about a year ago, was fine, but this last visit was terrible! Several of the pedicure chairs were broken, it was unclear whether the tools were clean, and worst of all, helfway through my foot soak, I found a razor in the tub! I could have cut my foot! They did not give me any magazines until I asked. Overall, the salon did not seem clean. Also, the eyebrow wax was way too hot. There are so many nail salons in the area. I just left this establishment. After receiving confirmation YESTERDAY that they would indeed honor my Monday-Wednesday Groupon on a Thursday (today), I set an actual appointment. Everything went fine upon my arrival, they checked my Groupon and once again said it was ok. They even had me pick out colors and proceed to the pedicure chair. Everything was fine until they decided to tell me MID PEDICURE that they had decided to change their minds and I could no longer use my Groupon (that was ALREADY CLEARED TWO DAYS IN A ROW). This place is a joke. They were rude and demeaning once I got up to leave. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who wants quality service. read more

I'm going by yelp's rating system. At first I was going to rate it three stars but I was wondering if the service I had deserved that much. But with a two star rating its, "Meh. I've experienced better." Which nails down exactly my experience here. I called on my way home from work to get an appointment. They were open and that was nice. I was hoping they used hard wax but it doesn't seem like any salon/spas/waxing places around the DC metro area use hard wax. When I finally got there I found the place to be pretty nice, it was spacious and well lighted. Nice airy feeling ya know? The ladies said hi to me from their salon chairs and then the waxer asked loudly if I was here to have a brazilian wax. I am not easily embarrassed but I could see how this would turn off someone more shy and/or someone on their first brazilian wax experience. She led me to a small room and asked if I was ready and I said yes. Generally I've found that before a waxing is to occur the waxer/esthetician will give you a wetnap of some sort to wipe down, whether you're ready or not. No such thing here. So I undressed and laid down on the bed. They use those tear off sheets that you see at the doctors. I don't really know how else to describe it but anyway that made me feel kinda good about the place because it signaled that they're sanitary. She sprayed something all over down there and then she dusted baby powder all over. And then she took a huge ass pair of scissors to trim my hair. Pretty meticulous so at this point I was still quite satisfied with the experience. She is not skilled enough at waxing. But then, I don't think a lot of people are. She re-waxed areas more than TWICE. Imagine the pain of having those hairs ripped out, but oh wait, they're not really ripped out so lets try again! And then again and again. Ouch. The whole thing took too long. If you can't rip the hairs out properly by the second try, you have no business waxing anyone down there. Oh, and when I got home, I realized she actually missed a section (as in it did not get waxed which is why parts of my vulva looked red and swollen and this one part didn't). And she didn't totally get all the areas around my ass (which, as seasoned brazilian wax devotees know, is the least painful part in that vicinity). After she said she was done, she just left the room. Didn't offer me any of the lotions and wipe that you're usually instructed to use after the wax. I guess it was self serve? I dont know but I used that shit up cause there was a shit ton of wax and pubic hair all over me (granted, MY pubic hairs but wow, it was incredibly messy). So yea, disappointing. It also cost $40 which is funny considering how some of the more skilled waxers charged less than that (Yes I am talking about Tammy from Polished). You won't see me here again. At least not for a brazilian wax anyway. read more

I have to echo the sub-par ratings for Vienna Nails. I visited this salon with a 20% off coupon and it was pretty obvious why they need to resort to coupons to get customers. I got the spa pedicure and it was merely average. No out-of-this-world massage or other benefits. The technician asked if I wanted a manicure or brow wax, but she didn't push the issue when I politely declined. I would've given Vienna Nails 3 stars but my polish was marred within a day. I made sure my nails had plenty of time to dry but after wearing shoes the next day the polish had indentations. In other words - sloppy polish job. I won't return here even with a coupon. read more
