I want to start by saying I never write reviews, but I felt like I needed to in order to help others who are indecisive on their surgeon or their procedure. I can honestly say, I have spent hours reading reviews on Google, FB and Reddit when doing my research so I hope this helps others. I've wanted a septoplasty/rhinoplasty for a few years, and I finally decided to do some research on finding the best board-certified plastic surgeon in the DMV area. I narrowed it down to 3 surgeons and met with each for a consultation, with Dr Christopher Chang being one of them. As soon as I met Dr. Chang, I knew he was going to be the surgeon I chose. He was kind, funny, considerate and very compassionate. He made me feel comfortable right away, which I didn't feel with the other 2 surgeons I had met with. He took the time to truly examine my nose. He spent the full hour consultation understanding my goals, examining my breathing issues, taking additional pictures and reviewing the "after" images of with me. Following the consultation, I was in constant communication with his assistant, Samantha. Anytime I would think of a question or concern, I would email Samantha and within 1-2 business days she would reply back and address each and every question. She was so prompt and responsive. I persistently emailed her multiple times, and her responses were always so helpful, understanding and friendly. I really appreciated all the help she provided me on multiple occasions. Upon surgery day, I felt very comfortable, and the process was extremely smooth. At no point in time was I confused on what the next step was or what I needed to do to prepare. Both Nurse Jackie and Nurse Tech Katherine, made the morning of my surgery very easy and comfortable. They were amazing. Following surgery, Dr. Chang personally called and texted me to check in on how I was doing -- this made me feel truly cared for. He also sent me videos and pictures of how my nose looked right after the surgery since I had a cast on. I am now 2.5 weeks post-op and Dr. Chang has reached out to me a few times just to check in to see how I am doing. Although I have some swelling (which is expected), I love my new nose! Dr. Chang exceeded my expectations! If you are considering a rhinoplasty, I 100% recommend Dr. Chang. You won't regret it. I plan to go to Dr. Chang for any future procedures I will have. I have only the BEST to say about Dr. Chang and his entire staff at Congressional Plastic Surgery. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Since I first posted my original review, a lot of people have asked me to share before and after photos, so I am providing this update. The first photo was taken before the surgery. The second photo is what Dr. Chang said I could reasonably expect after the surgery. The last photo is the actual result after the surgery. Although I admit my nose is a little bit improved post-surgery, it still isn't straight and is very bulbous and unflattering. And also, after almost two years after the surgery, my nose is still completely numb in the lower half. It certainly was not worth the extreme pain and significant expense. I've been suffering from TMJ disorder and the associated pain from it for years, and have tried so many things to provide relief. I can't believe I'm actually writing a review. Nobody talks about cosmetic enhancements and I feel like I'm breaking an unwritten rule by owning up to it. But I feel like we just need to start talking about this stuff. It's totally okay to want to enhance your appearance. You are 100% entitled to make cosmetic adjustments to your face or body to help you feel more confident in your own skin. To me, it's no different than covering up your gray hair with a little color or investing in an anti-aging serum to ward off fine lines. Anyway, I cannot recommend Dr. Chang enough. I originally found him on Yelp when I was on the fence about having some lip injections done. After calling to make a consult appointment and being greeted by the most friendly staff on the phone, I was ready to visit. My consult was so easy and wonderful and Dr. Chang has a very warm and welcoming chair-side manner. He totally put me at ease and really said everything I needed to hear to put my trust in him. After receiving 2 rounds of Juvederm in my lips and a little touch of Botox in my forehead for some horizontal lines that have appeared over the last few years... I'm completely happy with my decision to pursue his services. Dr. Chang will make the whole experience completely easy and comfortable. I've been interested in lip fillers for a couple of years now, but never really pursued it. I've never disliked my lips, but it seemed like there was no volume to them. I'm moving abroad in a few weeks, and was recently given the opportunity from a family member to get my lips done as a gift, so I just decided to go for it. I came across Dr. Chang on Yelp while researching, and I'm SO glad I decided to get my lips filled by him. I won't let anyone else near my lips from now on! From the moment I entered the office, him and his team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. His staff is so friendly and approachable, and really do care about your wellbeing. Dr. Chang himself is professional and has a great bedside manner. He listens to you and answers any questions you have. I love how he was able to give me the exact results I wanted, while also being realistic about what I could achieve with my lips. Not going to lie, I was a little nervous at the start of the procedure, mainly due to the fact that I'm squeamish when any needles come near me (go figure). The whole lip procedure was relatively pain free with the numbing cream on, and Dr. Chang talked me through the whole thing. He always made sure I was doing alright while he was inserting the Juvederm Ultra XC, which I really did appreciated. Dr. Chang changed my life! He is the best. A year or so back I had a couple cysts removed from my face and had leftover indents from kenalog injections on my cheek as well as under my eye. Dr. Chang successfully used Juviderm ultra plus to fill the areas, and flatten my face to the desired level. I was skeptical about doing the procedure at first, worried about ruining my face long-term, but any filler like Juviderm that you add to your face can be removed, or more added later on to fine-tune the result. I used a "thinner" level of Juviderm, that one might use for wrinkles, but there are thicker levels of filler that Dr. Chang can inject closer to the bone in order to further bring out your facial structure and make more robust changes. Dr. Chang was extremely professional. When working under the eyes, he used a "canula" in order to inject more smoothly and create a less bumpy surface, with less bruising. You could hardly notice he did anything under my eyes when he was done. Although there was some bruising, it cleared up within a few days. I absolutely love how it turned out and I am no longer self-conscious about my face. Dr. Chang honed in on my needs and acted on them with precision. He also comforted me during the process with casual conversation so that I felt relaxed while he operated. Not to mention he has a great staff, very friendly, along with one of the most beautiful medical/cosmetic suites I have ever visited. Super clean and inviting. Dr. Chang is a miracle worker! My nose had always been my biggest source of insecurity. I never let people photograph me from certain angles and I disliked the shape of my jawline, or lack-thereof. Dr. Chang was very informative during my consult and took his time. He made me feel so at ease and hopeful. I immediately booked my surgery for a week later. I ended up having a septorhinoplasty and liposuction around my neck and chin area. Recovery was almost painless - there was swelling and bruising, but I anticipated that. I was back at work 2 weeks later and minus some tenderness, I had no issues. MIRADRY: A few months ago I got the MiraDry treatment at Congressional Plastic Surgery. Although nervous at first, the staff was patient, attentive and thorough in explaining the treatment to me and answering ALL of my questions during my consultation. I was immediately reassured and decided to get the treatment done. On my procedure date, Nurse Kelly was so kind and walked me through what to expect during the entire visit. After prepping my underarms, I was injected with some numbing solution. A brief "sting" and THAT WAS IT. The staff is also so funny and personable - it definitely took my mind off what was happening. Once the actual MiraDry treatment began, I felt absolutely nothing! I just chatted away with the staff members. In about 90 minutes, I was done, icing and heading back to work! I was sore for a few days but back in the gym within two days and out with friends that same night - 100% worth it. The MiraDry treatment is seriously life changing. It helped me so much with nervous, embarrassing sweat. I went from wearing men's prescription strength anti-antiperspirant to barely wearing deodorant at all. Review for Botox and Dissolver for Lips. I don't think I've ever been happier with my results than I have with Dr. Chang. I haven't done my lips by him, but he was the only one that was willing and able to dissolve stubborn filler in my lips. I had them done with another nurse in California and the filler ended up staying for over 18 months. I was so tired of it and I felt like I had hard lumps and an awkward smile. I visited 4 other doctors before Dr. Chang who said they "don't see what's wrong" and just recommended me to fill it more. One doctor said he wouldn't dissolve it because it would be too difficult. When I finally got back to DC the first person I knew I had to see was Dr. Chang. He was able to get it ALL dissolved in two sessions. The first session dissolved a lot, but I am so done with the filled lips that I went in a second time for a touch up. Dr. Chang is very kind, accommodating, and honest when it comes to what you need done. He won't try to upsell or try to convince you into getting things you don't even need. And his receptionist at the new location in Tysons is the sweetest girl. Dr. Chang is also the only one I have had consistent botox results with. He is worth every penny, and his prices are great considering his expertise and knowledge. I've had bad experiences in the past with botox and filler and one word of advice I would give to anyone that's starting out - do NOT skimp out when it comes to your face. It's not worth the emotional distress just to save a couple of bucks. Get it done once by the right person and you will get it done right instead of having to pay more to get the work fixed. Well... I've finally reached that age where I had the choice to admit defeat to gravity, or go the route of injectables. Injectables won and I'm so glad they did! I had my first visit to this facility three weeks ago when I received lip fillers from Katharine. From my very first phone call all the way through my appointment, I was over the moon about how wonderful this place is! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
