This review is long overdue for 2017 and recently for July 30, 2021 For many years the back of my arms were my enemy. I was normal weight for my height, worked out and would eat mostly healthy. But no matter what I did in the gym I was not able to get rid of this stored fat in my upper arms. I found Dr. Palumbo on Groupon and scheduled a consultation. I didn't really know the cost of what lipo of the arms would be, so his pricing at the time didn't turn me one way or the other. I think I called his office because of a good review that stood out to me. Anyway, the consultation went well. Dr. Palumbo has an easy going, direct personality with a great bedside manner. I decided to have my arms treated (2017) and WHOA! He removed approximately ONE LITER of fat total from both arms. After coming home, even though i was drowsy as heck, I put on a tight jacket and the arms already fit! I followed his directions and wore my compression garment. I healed very well and the tiny scars near my elbows are practically non-existent. Fast forward----- 4 years to July 30, 2020 - I am exercising, but at home now and my snacking, somewhat sedentary lifestyle was more common that of my usual routine--Thanks to COVID 19 :( For many months before this pandemic, I thought about my love handles and how much larger they were over my actual butt and even more so now with us being quarantined. Even if I lost a few pounds, the love handles still stuck around. I immediately called Dr. Palumbo and he suggested that not only should I have liposuction of the love handles/flanks, but in order to sculpt the body appropriately, he recommend that my lower and upper abs get done as well. Almost like a modified 360 lipo (where you go all the way around the trunk) that is so popular now. Reason being is that when you remove an area of fat, the surrounding areas that were not treated would then accumulate fat down the road (which I did not want). Obviously it cost more, but I am 8 days out and I would say it was the best decision going back to Dr. P. He removed almost 3.5 liters of fat off this 135 pound body. Yes...I had a HIGH body fat percentage! Again, I am following his directions, wearing my compression garment and I can already tell with some time and shrinking that I will have a much easier finding my abs. I was also up and walking around 8 hours after the procedure and worked at my desk the next day. Everything Dr. P. told me about post-op did happen so there were no surprises. If I have any fat left to remove, I will certainly go back to Dr. P I absolutely hands down recommend Dr. Palumbo. I am sure at some point, he will add my before and after photos! I would not recommend this doctor for any type of fillers. I bought a groupon deal a while back for lip fillers on groupon. I should have known better and done my research. Dr. Palumbo struggled with my lips, and kept saying they were uneven and even cursed at one point because he messed up. He kept saying that he does this all the time and never sees issues. Which I highly question now. He struggled with the fillers and made them uneven and I had bumps which developed and are still here months later! I ended up going to a SKILLED place and they did an amazing job fixing my lips. Goes to show don't trust just anyone with your face or body. I would def think twice before going here! read more

Went in for laser skin tightening. Developed hives all over my face. Called the office left messages with no reply. Three days later still waiting on a reply. Still have hives on my face. Not a text, email or smoke signal from these guys. Read online that this is an allergic reaction and that since I put on the form I have a UV sensitivity he should have asked about it and tested for a reaction. I just had facial Co2 Laser done with Dr.Pat today. After I checked my face and saw that my forehead hairline was ruined by laser result (hairs were burned). I am disappointed. He should have been more careful about what he did. This should not ever happened. Also the area I wanted to be treated was not in his focus and one spot seems to be over treated. I am a 62 year old man that went to Dr. Palumbo for Yag Laser for my face. Just wanted to look younger and I am so very glad I did. I have had 2 sessions so far and the difference is amazing. I look and feel younger and its given me some confidence back. Dr. Palumbo is great and ensures you're comfortable throughout the entire process. He sets realistic expectations so there are no surprises and does excellent follow-up. It's nice to have a doctor that actually cares. In reading some of these negative reviews it seems those patients were expecting miracles or wanting something for nothing, (name calling, really?). Anyway, I give Dr. Palumbo 5 stars. Thoroughly disappointed and will never return. I bought a Groupon for 3 Microdermabrasion facials and received the worst and bare-minimal facials of my life. When I walked in they would tell me to wash my face in the bathroom (only handsoap available) and never did any kind of cleansing on my face prior to getting the micro. Normally when I receive these facials they do cleansing and lots of pre-micro creams/tonics/etc. Nada, nothing. They went straight into the micro with my face dry and always showed me all of the skin that came off as means to up-sell their facial products (which were horrendously expensive). Only once was a cream/lotion applied to my face after the micro and they put it on my own hand and told me to rub it in. The entire process literally took about 5 minutes each time where typically they are 30-60 minutes. My first two experiences were with a woman that appeared to be a Russian immigrant/hooker wearing 6 inch spike heels and a somewhat-midriff baring top and yoga pants that was clearly visible because she either did not wear the white doctor's coat or had it completely open. Her makeup was so thick it was clumping and falling off. Gross. The third time I came they said she had been fired and I would receive better service. The only difference was that the doctor complained about the groupon usage, how terrible the other woman was, and then put some lotion on my finger to rub in myself. Not worth my time or even $10 a session. Ridiculous. read more

I got vaser liposuction done 3 weeks ago and I look great, still have swelling and lumps and bumps which is normal. Dr. Palumbo is a body guy, there are some men who are boob guys or butt guys. Dr. P is a body guy which is what makes him good at his job. So he does tell women and men who come into the office to see him the truth about how they look and what he can do to improve it. The price for four sections was less than 4k (with anaesthesia) and according to my post-lipo massage therapist who also got lipo done but somewhere else said that the price I paid made her feel ripped off. He took out 3.8 liters of fat (4 is the max)and while recovery was not easy the first 10 days I couldn't be happier with the results. He is very attentive to my recovery process and that helps ease my mind with the concerns over my lumps and built up fluid. Would I do another surgery, probably not only because the after care was exhausting and I did not take drugs for the pain, only took Tylenol. Other people I have spoken to said they were in Miami 10 days post op. Then again I had almost the max amount of fat taken out. Dr. P never changed the price once and was straight up with me about the price and breakdown from the first consult appointment. Oh and you MUST do post liposuction lymphatic drainage massage at Pur beauty in Springfield VA. That will help tremendously. Dr. P does not say massage is mandatory, but you will not get the results you want immediately without the massages. So just know after procedure you will spend another $500 to $700 for massages and garments. read more

DO NOT HAVE SURGERY DONE AT THIS PLACE!!! I had lipo (upper/lower abs and flanks). I noticed after a some weeks that I still had too much fat in the flank/abs area, and one side had more fat than the other. I waited longer, since I understand that my body was still swollen. After 2 months I called the office and informed that my body was disproportioned from the surgery, and there was also not enough fat removed. The Dr. agreed to redo the surgery after I came in to see him, but informed that I would have to wait at least 6 months, so I made an appointment to have it redone. The Dr. stated, "you paid lots of money, therefore I want you to be happy." He also stated that there would be no additional charges(I have email confirming). I get a call 1 week before the surgery informing that I would have to reschedule, and now I had to pay approx. $800. I advised the office receptionist(or whatever her title was) that I was told that no additional charges would occur, and that I should not have to pay additional $ for what should've been done correctly the first time. I had made arrangements to be off from work, have someone drive me, and had booked a hotel. I told her that I would not pay any xtra. I later sent an email to the Dr. informing how unorganized/unprofessional the handling of this entire matter had been, in addition to expressing my discontent with the work he performed. He sent me an email stating that he would redo the work, with no charges. Now he nor the receptionist will reply about booking the appointment because I initially filed a complaint against them. I paid $ to have this procedure done correctly, and I am stuck with unevenness and still too much fat. I am not a big person, so I'm not sure how he could've botched everything up. Nevertheless, I am warning you to stay away from this unprofessional office. Use your money wisely elsewhere, and be sure to do your research! read more

FRAUDULENT! Question whether He is a legitimate doctor...Buy a degree online? Using someone else's license number? The "doctor" smells like cigarettes, has greasy hair, and terrible skin. He asked no questions, does not go over procedure in any detail other than to say your skin will be red and hurt. As I began to ask questions he literally rushed me out of the room. Receptionist is fast-talking and clearly the brains behind the scheme they are running. Price is significantly lower than anywhere else. Too good to be true...means it usually isn't. Attractive waiting room, friendly efficient staff and a knowledgeable MD to perform work often done by "estheticians". I have been to the office several times. They do share an office, though that is not uncommon in the medical space. I haven't felt unaccommodated as a result. Karen is SO friendly and very flexible on some last minute adjustments I've had to make. Dr. Palumbo is great and I feel completely comfortable with him doing laser in more private areas. I had a pretty positive experience here! It was my first time with laser hair removal and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, Karen was very informative both via phone and in the office. In the end I barely experienced any pain and the procedure lasted a total of 10 minutes for both arms. Dr. Palumbo even gave me a great deal for referrals. I had incredible results after just one treatment and I couldn't stop raving about it. The office wasn't really very aesthetically pleasing but I'd much rather pay for the results and great service than a pretty office lacking all the rest. Sadly I stopped going here because it was more convenient to go to a laser center in MD where I now live rather than Virginia. However, that other center was very disappointing and I'll gladly return to Dr. Palumbo's office and make the trip to VA. read more

I initially went in planning to have my flanks lipoed (vasered). I am a fit person and exercise regularly and eat healthily, but could not get rid of stubborn areas of collected fat. After speaking with Dr. Palumbo, I decided to take an overall approach to ensure a better outcome and aesthetic balance and actually had upper and lower abdominal, flanks, and inner thighs done. He is a trained general surgeon and understands how the various areas of the body work together. The healing process in the first two weeks was more involved than I expected (especially during the first week), but is really accelerating at this point. I followed all of the doctor's instructions and additionally ate a lot of fresh pineapple to aid in healing. I have to say that at two weeks post surgery, the results are remarkable. I realize they will continue to improve with time (for the next 6 months or so), but I wish I had done this several years ago. I wore my size 4 jeans for the first time in 3 or 4 years today. Prior to that I was wearing a size 6 (snugly). I cannot say enough about how caring Dr. Palumbo is and how good the follow up has been post surgery. In addition his office is always mindful of my time so appointments are easy to schedule and occur on time (a rarity in my experience with doctors). Went here this weekend with a LivingSocial voucher I'd bought a month or so ago for 20 units of botox. I thought it was weird that I couldn't find any reviews online but the price was right so I did it anyway. The building was kind of old and could use a serious refresh, but the office seemed perfectly clean and in order. The receptionist was nice and they took me right in. However, the doctor walked in and immediately commented on an area that I WASN'T there for and after I'd told him that wasn't what I was there for he went on and on about how I SHOULD be doing that area, and others, and that he could make it happen for just another $250. This went on for a good ten minutes until I finally said flat out that I would not be doing anything other than what I came for (which still ended up costing me $40 on top of my voucher) and that he was making me self-conscious by continuing to talk about it. He repeatedly insisted that he wasn't just trying to make more money and that I should get the add'l area done even if I went somewhere else to do it (I guess he was trying to emphasize JUST how tragic I was...). He was otherwise friendly and we made friendly conversation, but his bedside manner was hardly comforting and I left there feeling more self-conscious than I was when I arrived! It's been about 36 hours and I'm still not seeing any results from the botox so I'm going to give it a few more days and see if it takes. Otherwise I suppose I'll have no choice but to return to get it touched up. Otherwise though, I won't be returning and don't recommend this clinic. read more

I got a Groupon or whatever there for four laser hair removal treatments. Unfortunately, I have werewolf in my family, so it took more than four treatments, but the folks there insisted on treating me until the hair was gone and not charging me anything more for it. After 11 treatments (7 more than I paid for), the hair is finally gone thanks to their persistence! The doctor there definitely cares about his patients getting results and they have a very friendly staff there too. read more

I went about a week ago and had a wonderful experience. It was my first time getting a microdermabrasion and the lady that did mine was very open and willing to answer any questions I had, she gave me a very warm and secure feeling when she was conducting my facial. When I had first arrived I was greeted very warmly everyone was so nice.
