I was enthusiastic about the consultation and having the ability to get answers to the questions I had. The price wasn't even a terrible sticker shock, but I did want to think about it, and was encouraged to do so and email with further questions, which I appreciated. However, I never got a response to my emailed follow up questions, which strikes me as odd; it makes me wonder if the rest of the experience would be similar, so this poor experience has made me reconsider going forward with the procedures. read more

What a horrible experience! I was completely blindsided during the initial consult. For example, I was told I would be playing pickleball two weeks after surgury; it took four months. I continue to have scarring and lumps on my stomach almost five months post op. I did have three Venus laser treatments and then was told if I wanted to continue it would cost over $1,000 for the package. She let the lipo hose get stuck on my inside thigh and now I have an indentation on my leg that looks awful. And she won't fix it. She also did breast surgery on me. Here is our experience, My wife had a scheduled consultation appt schedule for 12:45pm, they called the day before the appt to make sure we were all on the same page. We arrived at 12:30 as asked to fill out paper work, while filling out the paperwork, a person walked in with a 12:45 appt, ok, perhaps there is more than one person doing consultations, then 5 minutes later a second person walked in for a 12:45 appt. At 1pm the receptionist apologized for the wait and gave my wife a $5.00 Starbucks card. The 1st person that came in after us was called back and finished and left, then the other person was called back. At 2:05 pm my wife informed the receptionist we were leaving. The total disregard for our time speaks volumes, this was our first and only impression of this establishment. If they have such a disregard for our time at the initial consultation, it makes you wonder how the rest of the experience would have gone. 94 mile round trip to sit in a waiting room for 1.5 hours all for nothing. Time is extremely valuable and when a business doesn't' care about your time it makes you wonder how their attention to detail during the procedure would be. These people make everything sound great, but in reality, it's a waste of money. Don't do it! I know it works because I've seen people get great results, but most of them go to Florida. Be very cautious before signing anything here. When I asked if I could go home and talk to my husband before deciding, I was told I needed to sign right then and there to get a discount, that if I left, the offer would no longer apply. That kind of pressure is completely inappropriate for a medical decision. What's worse, no one mentioned that if I canceled the procedure, I'd be charged the $2,495 surgical fee. I specifically asked about doing part of it now and returning later, and that fee was never brought up. The paperwork was quickly reviewed, with key parts conveniently skipped over, especially while I was physically distracted. They ran very late to even start the consultation and wanted talk about their personal life to try to create a bond and get your mind on other things. Christine never went over this either. You don't even get copies of what you sign until after you've paid and are walking out the door, which gives you no real opportunity to fully review what you're committing to. read more

All I can say is if you are considering an AbEx or lipo- this is the place to go. I visited several places before making my decision. I needed lipo on my outer thighs ( saddlebags) and and lipo and an AbEx on my stomach. From the first time I walked in to the day I had my procedure I couldn't have been more happier or pleased. Starting with Lane V my consultant-she has enough patience to nail jello to a wall. She answered all my repeated phone calls and talked me through everything. She never pushed or talked me into anything-everything was my own decision. On to Dr Nicodem and her surgical nurse Drea. Both completely fabulous the entire morning of my surgery. They moved quickly & efficiently which gave me such a calm. They talked me through everything they were doing & why. Before I knew it I was in the car on my way home. Yes there were some uncomfortable parts but they were quick and bearable-nothing lasted more than a few seconds at a time-and you are pretty out of it most of the time. I was thrilled by my surgery. The doctor was experienced and professional and did a terrific job with the most important part of this. The front desk staff is not responsive. I was supposed to get compression garments sent to me, so I was told at my one week appointment. I was given one they had on site that wasn't the right garment for the procedures I had. I was told to cut the legs off. I called 4 days business days later to ask about the garments, and was told they were on the way. I called again 4 business days later and was told there was some hold up by FedEx, certainly not them, and that the garments would be arriving at my house 2.5 weeks after my surgery. I didn't pay a small amount for this procedure. I used to run an office. I would have had those garments (2 identical) available at the one week post op appt. They don't cost that much. read more

::SIGH:: Let's just start off by saying that I was REALLY excited about my consultation today because I submitted an inquiry yesterday and they were able to schedule a consultation today. The representative that I worked with over the phone from greater Sono Bello was AMAZING, however, this review isn't about her, but rather about this specific location. I arrived about 5 minutes early for my appointment and the check in process was smooth. I completed my paperwork and submitted it to the receptionist who told me I would be seen shortly. As I patiently and excitedly waited, I noticed that there were 3 other customers who came in after me, completed their paperwork, yet were all seen before me. I initially thought nothing of it and kept patiently waiting scrolling my phone expecting to hear my name called next. NOT THE CASE! At the 45 minutes of waiting without anyone checking in with me mark, I decided to check in with the receptionist and inquire as to what was going on and how much longer it would be because I was already 45 minutes beyond my appointment time. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that the person doing my consultation was currently with a patient and that there was another customer ahead of me . He said that he would check in with the consultant to get an idea of how much longer my wait would be. I sat back down and about 5 minutes later the consultant pranced out and told the customer who was ahead of me that she was still finishing up with a patient but that she would be with her shortly. I got my face good and ready because I knew she would next prance over to be and I wasn't having it. She could immediately tell I wasn't in the mood for this reactive poor customer service shpeel she was about to mutter so she said that I was welcomed to wait or I could speak to the receptionist to reschedule. I just stared at her and proceeded to get up and head over the receptionist to tell him that I wasn't waiting any longer as it was now an hour since my scheduled consultation time and that I was absolutely disappointed in the level of customer service they did NOT provide and that an easy proactive solve could have been for him to check in with me (& the other customer) and provide us updates instead of avoiding having that conversation. Needless to say I am taking my money elsewhere as there are lots of other options, but please beware that if you schedule a consultation with them that you need to prepare for spending hours of your day simply sitting and waiting and potentially being ignored. read more

This review contains full disclosure - good and bad. I'm giving 5 stars because I'm pleased with the results. But this is not for everyone, so go in with research and realistic expectations. Dr. Konrad Dawson was awesome for me. But I researched him first and selected him based on skill. Reviews I found on him dealt with personality. I only cared about results, and his results were awesome! His personality was also not a problem, as long as you're open and willing to understand from someone else's perspective. I had AbEx and my sides and bra line done. Even with swelling, I saw an immediate change. I initially only wanted lipo, but Dr. Dawson was honest in telling me the results I wanted, would not be accomplished without the tummy tuck, as well. Recovery was NOT quick. I was still walking slowly and slightly stooped over for about 3 weeks. And the pain experienced while getting the numbing solution in was excruciating at times. If you have a low pain threshold, go somewhere that puts you to sleep for the procedure. I survived it without screaming or hysterics, but did mutter some F bombs a few times. And after the first procedure, I said never again. However, at my six month follow-up, Dr. Dawson thought he could make some improvements. I first tried to lose weight and see if that made a difference, but ultimately decided after eight months to use the additional procedure they offer. It was just as painful, but with just the lipo (no tummy tuck) I bounced back quickly. You will have scar tissue that presents as hard lumps. You do need to anticipate spending about another one to $2000 for regular lymphatic massages to help breakdown that scar tissue. I found a good location that used sonogram and radio frequency tools, along with traditional hand tools to break down a lot of my scar tissue. Eight months out from the original procedure I still have some small lumps that I continue to work on. I also have a bit of extra skin along my bra line that did not quite tighten back up once the fat was removed, but it definitely still looks far better than it did. Overall, I'm pleased with my results. My abdomen is flat and looks like I'm 20 again. If you're focused on all the mistakes - like scheduling hiccups and not getting prescriptions on time or communication issues, this is not the place for you. They have all of that. If you're able to get past those things and focus on choosing a good doctor with proven results, then, like me, you'll be able to overlook some of the areas where they fall short to achieve the REALISTIC results you're looking for. read more

I made an appointment for today about two weeks ago. I was very excited about this appointment and planned everything accordingly. Around one hour before my appointment I received a text msg saying "You are currently scheduled at a higher volume time for your consultation, would it be convenient to come in closer to 12 pm to avoid any unnecessary wait? I made the appointment TWO WEEKS AGO! However I arrived 30min early I filled up the paperwork the front. After giving them back the paperwork they told me to wait. I saw others clients came after me and they were called before me. OKAY.... After 15 mins after my appointment schedule the front lady came to me saying they are a little busy but I will be called soon and offered me a water. I told her a have an other appointment somewhere else and I can't wait to long she said will the doctor or whoever going to see me knows that. But after waiting more than 30 MINUTES and seeing other people was called before me pisses me off. Was other front desk lady also who said TWO MINUTES you will be attended but nothing. Around 45 MINUTES of waiting I told the front desk lady to CANCEL the appointment. She insisted just TWO MINUTES MORE. Excuse me I was waiting for 45MINUTES!!!! I left! I waisted 45min of my time! I'm pretty sure the doctors at this location are good but very disappointed how they don't respect the schedule time!! read more

I used this service for Laser Lipo, cost around $5k. I paid extra for the ride home as I had no one to come and pick me up at that time of day. The ride was someone's personal minivan, that wasnt clean and had a childs seat in the rear seat, where they put me to ride home. The man driving was very nice, but this was not a professional car service. Was a little bit scary until I got home. Prior to that, the procedure was okay, but I was freezing cold on the table, soaking wet, and it was much more uncomfortable (hurt) than I had expected (and was told). I went back for my follow-ups, but they provided no additional education on how to take care of myself afterwards except for the medical aspects. In retrospect, they should have suggested that I get lymphatic drainage massages to help with the movement of the fat out of the body. There is a lot more than one can do, after liposuction, to help smooth and tighten the skin. The other thing they don't do is do diet counseling or any counseling after the lipsuction. It is just the medical appts. to check on the procedure, wounds, etc. I think they should offer a more holistic approach and include services for aftercare like the massages, nutrition and diet counseling, etc. It would acheive better results for people, long term, and perhaps more lipo appointments later. My biggest complaint is that they say the fat cells are gone and won't come back. Not true. Within 2 years, even with changing my diet quite a bit, the fat is back (not as much) and because some cells are gone, others not, there are even textures on my abdomen. Also, the fat has now accumulated more on the top of my hip area, which I dont like. It was never there before, so the fat found somewhere else to go. Their ads on TV and statements are misleading about removing the fat forever, etc. read more

I agree that the laser contouring lipo-procedure staff is wonderful and practices phenomenal and marvelous customer service. They are very caring and attentive to listen. Lane made the appointments and explains procedures accurately but personally, I had spent $$9,000 when the results of Dr. Marefat could've been better on the thighs, adipose extraction. It was good to receive a second stage compression garment suit. I chose beige. However be aware of the scheduling here. Twice I canceled my mid term (3-month) post-opp. One was because it was harrowing that my wisdom tooth appointment should take place before this check up (apparently at 4'11" height my pictures look like I lost only 5llbs), the other reason was transportation and a friend reneged on offering to drive from Alexandria to near the metro station. I don't think it's splendid not to have a 3-month checkup. Nevertheless as other reviewers have pointed out, the nurses have fine and wonderful attitudes, wear nasal masks, checks tempuratures yada yada. Great experience all around. The front desk people were very professional. The nurses leading up to the procedure helped me be calm and relaxed for the procedure. When I had my laser assisted liposuction, Dr. Martin Morse and April actually made it enjoyable. Their bedside manor and comforting banter had me laughing through my 2 hour procedure. I will definitely come back to Sonobello in McLean for future body work! Also, I took my pain meds about 18 hours, then was able to switch to extra strength acetaminophen. Looks like others going back for years have had same issue I just had - went for consultation, an hour after arriving and 50 minutes after my appointment time they come to say it will be another 20 minutes. Probably would have been at least 30 minutes. I had to leave. So including travel I lost over 2 hours of time, taking off work, for nothing. And I didn't even pick the time - they offered the appointment time to me. How can they not figure this out? I recently had a liposuction procedure done here. I am not a bigger person to begin with (I just had my upper, lower abdomen and waist done) so I was confident that the results were going to be good (which they are so far). I cant rate this place five stars however because they do not respect people's time. At all. Every-time i went there I was in the waiting room for at least 20-45 minutes. The only way i was seen sooner was when I would lie and tell them I had work or something important to do right after. Otherwise they are going to make you wait. The consultants (people who you originally see to push their procedures) are nice, supportive, and caring until you get the procedure, then they are no where in sight. My mother was very excited to get this procedure done and originally had an appointment set up; when she went to confirm they said she never had one set up! She continued to reach out to them and the consultant we originally saw, both of which do not answer her calls. She has found a new office to have this procedure done. So if you can get over the fact that they are very rude and fake to their patients and don't really care about them (along with the usual risks of having the procedure done), then go on ahead and schedule with them. read more

I went to Sono Bello in Tyson's Corner, VA April 2021. The consultation was nice enough. The person doing it, was very kind and eager. She made me excited about the procedure, assuring me at every turn that this is a non-evasive, minimal pain during the procedure experience. There was going to be pain and discomfort afterwards, but they'd prescribe the correct medicine to assist with that. PAIN-FREE NOT the case! Everything went awesome until the actual procedure. I had the full abdominal area and the tummy tuck. KEEP IN MIND THAT I WAS AWAKE THE WHOLE TIME. I was given numbing/pain medicine before my procedure. Three minutes into the procedure, I began to feel the pain. I was told by Dr. Allison that I had to give the medicine time to work. I was told that it was given at the correct time, sat in a room for 30-45 minutes allowing time for this medicine to work. IT DID NOT WORK! I felt every single push, pull, poke, jab, prick there was to feel. I FELT LIKE I WAS BEING TORTURED. I didn't know whether to cry or pray. I did both. I asked the doctor if I could have more medicine, he told me that I had the amount allowed, remember I'm crying and screaming out loud because it's so painful. I asked if we could take a break. DR. ALLISON TOLD ME THAT I COULD NOT TAKE A BREAK BECAUSE "IT WOULD MESS UP HIS MOMENTUM." He could stop and reschedule. There was no way that i was going to reschedule this. There is no way that I'd put myself through that ever again. So I continue to cry and pray until the poking stopped. Now I'm suctioned, fat is out. Time for tummy tuck. MIRACLOUSLY I could actually have more medicine at that time, imagine that. The nurse gave me more. After that, I was actually numb and couldn't feel the cutting. I like the results, not love, could have been worse, so I will not complain about that. Completely appalled with Dr. Allison's attitude. It reminded me of the medical field feeling as though African American woman couldn't feel pain. My pain was not considered, felt less than human. read more

I had my initial consultation with Lane who explained everything to me to the point that I left there ready for the procedure. Whenever I had more questions or needed help she was ALWAYS helpful. I went for my preop appointment and boy was I nervous but by the time I left there nurse Janeris and doctor Baraki had made me feel better. All the questions I had at the moment were answered. No one seemed to blow me off at all. As a matter of fact nurse Janerks and Dr. Baraki had to stay late because of me and they never acted irritated or tried to rush me. They took their time with me to ensure I was well. Come surgery day (next day), I got there in high spirits because I had most of my questions answered. The ones I had forgotten Dr. Baraki had told me to write them down and bring them back. He sat there and answered every single one of them. I was more than satisfied with each answer. He did not try to rush me because of schedule. He ensured I was well first. That day I worked with nurse Annalise. She was so funny and welcoming. She really took care of me from the moment she took me from the waiting area to even after the procedure (which went super super well. Didn't feel any pain just a little pressure). I know some people might look at this review and say it is too good to be true but I beat you to it because I have already said my experience was too good to be true yet it is true. Well, the evening (after 7) before my 7am appointment, I got a call asking to move my appointment to 1 pm. I arrived at 1 pm. Close to 2 I was told that they wouldn't get to me until 3. At 3:30 I was finally taken back (only because I asked). I didn't get in to surgery until around 5:30. Every time I go there (about 6 times now) the appointments are running late. Other clients in the waiting room are complaining about that same thing (so it's not just me). This is such an easy problem to fix. Call me, I can provide a service to help you make your processes more efficient, and your customers happy. On the other side of this is Dr. Morse. He is exceptional!! My body looks better than I imagined it could. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and is the ultimate professional surgeon. read more

I had a wonderful experience, from start to finish, at SonoBello Tysons. To start, I was treated very kindly as I entered the front office. Very little wait time sitting and filling out some straight forward paperwork. The in-person consultation with Lane V. made me feel very comfortable and welcome, giving me great confidence and reassurance about getting the surgery. The Pre-op was very informative and soothing, also allowing me to get to know my surgeon and nurses, Jenny Ali and Dez . And finally the surgery was the smoothest procedure I have ever been apart of. There was music to relax me, there was a nurse there asking me if I needed anything at each step, and there was a very professional and talented surgeon, Dr. Dawson, doing the finest work I've seen. Every step of the way, Dr. Dawson had my back. He is caring during the procedure and had my best interest in mind as he carries on with his great work. I was truly grateful, and lucky, to have had the chance to get my procedure done at SonoBello Tysons. Glad I didn't listen to these reviews - So I called sonobello Tysons corner & spoke to Lane. She immediately connected with me we spoke like 2 old friends, it didn't feel like a sales transaction it felt like I was being heard. I explained my urgency 2 do the procedure if the cost was right in 2 weeks. What I like about Lane is she didn't make any promises but said she would do her best to accommodate me. We spoke about my areas & went over expectations and the cost- She is on it.. and truly Knows how to connect with people - She is literally an Asset to sonobello because I am not an easy sale. But her delivery was more of a "this is what we do at sonobello " fat removal . I Proceeded to book all my areas with no hesitation. She found the time I needed, kept calling to see if different times worked. Her demeanor is admirable and just overall great communication. Day of surgery I met with Nicky the LPN & she was very warm and welcoming yet another awesome employee ! I can't say enough about the staff at Tyson's corner! They are happy people. Dr Allison was the cherry on top ! His bed side manner is outstanding I felt at ease chatting with him he knows how to defuse your anxiety ! He explains everything and expects ! One key thing is he doesn't rush you - he literally sits there and We talked so you can be comfortable pre -op visit ( remember those old fashioned doctors that really built a rapport with patients) that's him -You will like him instantly! I applaud Tyson's corner! Just stellar service. My procedure went very well ! I saw a difference in my thighs whilst still in the OR -lying On the table that's how amazing Dr Allison was ! Lane reached out the same day to see how I was feeling - I am a hard person to please but boy or boy this is what you call Stellar service. Not one hitch !! I paid 8k and every penny was worth it!
