    Non Surgical Nose Job
    Jennifer G.

Where do I start? We have all been there wanting to change something about ourselves but never taking the leap. I am so happy I had Dr. Michaels do my nose filler. It was a very subtle change but made all the difference for me. I had always wanted a more defined nose and thats exactly what I got. I still looked like myself but better!

I've wanted a tummy tuck for many years but I knew it was best to wait until I was done having kids.

I cannot recommend Dr. Kochuba enough! He is a true artist and a double board certified plastic…read moresurgeon who went above and beyond in every way. After having six children, I had significant abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti) that left me feeling defeated even after working out consistently at the gym. Dr. Kochuba repaired it beautifully, along with addressing the capsular contracture in one of my breasts. The results are truly amazing. I look like a new person. My abdomen is flat and strong again, something I thought I'd never have again! I feel confident in ways I haven't in years. From the very first consultation to the most recent post op appointment, Dr. Kochuba provided expert care. He took the time to listen to all my concerns, answered questions, and made me feel at ease. His attention to detail and surgical skill are outstanding. Recovery was great compared to most experiences I read about and I credit this to Dr. Kochuba's excellent surgical skill. He truly cares about delivering the best possible outcome, both visually and physically, and it shows in the results. The entire team at Austen-Weston was fantastic as well. Simone was wonderful (and patient, as I had many questions!) during my consultation, Katrina made sure I was comfortable and prepared the morning of surgery, and Anastasia provided caring support during my overnight stay, which I highly recommend adding on if you can. Even the Anesthesiologist did a perfect job and I wasn't even nauseas when waking up after surgery, which has happened every other time I've been put under. Every single staff member was professional, kind, and attentive. If you are considering restorative surgery, especially anything involving the abdomen or breast revision, Dr. Kochuba is the surgeon you want. He exceeded all my expectations and I am forever grateful for the transformation he gave me. Highly, highly recommend!

So, let's start with the positive: around 2001, I had a procedure here and was very happy with…read moreeverything. Recently, I went back for a second procedure, but this time after donating a kidney. The pre-op was a mess, including: - The practice contacting my transplant surgeon for clearance, even after I asked them not to. (At this point, she has no obligation to me except for routine monitoring. Plus, I haven't seen her as a patient since I donated four months ago.) - My "patient advisor" telling me, inaccurately, that they are concerned about my "liver" function. I pointed out that my liver function is just fine. - My "patient advisor" telling me that my (bad) kidney numbers "keep going up, up, up." That's simply not accurate. - The "patient advisor" telling me that they would give me Celebrex post-op. My response: "Um, no. As I told you earlier, as a kidney donor, I cannot take NSAIDs." - My "patient advisor" falsely telling me, apropos a possible discount, "As I told you earlier...." Again, that simply didn't happen. - The practice ignoring my PCP's clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months. - The practice ignoring my nephrologist's verbal clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months due to a minor blip in my kidney numbers. To be clear, they should have asked my nephrologist about a pre-op evaluation, not my surgeon. I'm pretty disappointed, as this was going to be my present to myself after kidney donation. To be clear: I appreciate their being careful. But when we are talking about my health, accuracy is key. And I am just not seeing it. Plus, while these inaccuracies may not be a big deal when individually considered, taken as a whole, they are deeply concerning. And I don't know how a patient can give informed consent when they are getting bad information about being given NSAIDs, etc. In fact, I don't know why you would give an NSAID to a patient post-surgery, but perhaps I'm missing something. I should also state, in fairness, that my patient advisor is very new, so that may be part of the issue. She also is not an RN, which is okay, but then she should have a high level of basic medical knowledge-like knowing that you cannot give kidney donors NSAIDs. I've asked for my deposit to be refunded and plan to go elsewhere. I'd love to recommend this practice, but I can't.

I got my breast implants here back in November 2008. Here are a few tips when picking a surgeon and…read morewhy I went with here. 1) Price/payment plans. I was recommended to another doctor at GW however was informed he took no payment plans. Now some might cry "low budget" however keep in mind surgery is upwards to $10K and I don't know about you, but I don't have that chilling in my bank account. Here they do accept payment plans that are contracted through CapitalOne medical and they also accept care credit. Kudos to them for thinking outside of the box. 2) Staff: When you get implants, you have to back a bazzillion times for check ups and 99% of the time you're meeting with the surgeon's nurse staff. The nurse staff here is awesome, kind, compassionate, all of the adjectives that describe what a good nurse should be. 3) Quality: While I do like my implants, I wish they looked more fake. I know, I'm a weird-o. My implants look natural. NO ONE can tell they're fake. If you want the porn star crazy look don't come here because Dr. Freedman will make them look natural. Overall I am happy with my experience here and would recommend Plastic Surgery Associates of Northern Virginia to anyone looking to get a little more on top.

I am about three weeks post-op (tummy tuck, liposuction to flanks), gynecomastia correction, and…read morearm lift) and I am happy so far with the care and results (still healing, so more recovery to come!). Dr. Freedman has been nothing but caring, professional, and knowledgeable. The same goes for Elizabeth, who has a very caring personality and has made me feel at ease from the consultation and now post-op care. What I like about Dr. Freedman and his practice is how down to earth they all are. They are realistic and empathetic. The surgery that I had was very complex and intense and I am happy I did it. He even answered questions over the weekend at one point. I know that I am on the road to recovery and the final results are not there yet, but I would work with this practice again. I highly recommend them. Just remember, have realistic expectations and Dr. Freedman will work with you!
