Will not be renewing my annual membership and advise against it anyone who is it. First time in a Massage Envy location. I've had probably about 10 massages over the last 20 years ranging from everything light and lots of rubbing all over, to so hard that I felt bruised for the next 3 or 4 days. I would say today, Linh was the perfect medium. She did a lovely job giving hard pressure in some areas and lots of pleasing movements across large areas. I really liked her work on my feet, especially with the hot towel. The time went quickly and I found my mind daydreaming a lot, rather than being distracted by the touch. Would recommend Linh if you need a medium level massage. Not sure that I love the timeshare-y aspect to Massage Envy, but it's not a bad spot if you need a quick massage. read more

Poor communication over membership details and up charges at other locations, and the current manager is probably the rudest person I have ever encountered. She kept regurgitating the same line over and over again and clearly placed a priority over proving me wrong versus providing sincere and friendly customer service. Immediately became combative and tried to make me feel bad on the phone after expressing my valid concerns to her. I will be carrying out my contract and never renewing with them as they are sneaky and assume you will read every detailed line of a contract while rushing you to sign up. Please be careful signing up for a membership with this location. I had to miss one appointment due to being severely ill, and was never given my appointment credit back. It took me over four months to resolve this issue with the manager (David) who took months to call me back and assist with the problem. I recently closed my account in January 2019 and was promised that my credit card would no longer be charged. However I have just noticed a charge from this massage envy on February 6. Please be careful if you sign up with this location and check your credit cards for charges. The massage therapists are amazing. Very sorry for writing this review however I felt it was essential for everyone to know. Update : I've been told I have been refunded. I'll start by saying I was sad when the ABC store left, but a Massage Envy taking the spot was awesome. I have gotten massages every other week at Massage Envy ever since the Burke location opened. I have been going to the Hilltop Alexandria for awhile, but the West Springfield location is just around the corner from my house. Even though it was just their first day open it was a great experience. I'm looking forward to many more relaxing sessions at this location. read more

I had a deep tissue massage with Crystal yesterday and it was, by far, the best massage I've ever had. Crystal is extremely professional, courteous, and knows exactly what she's doing. She focused on my pain points - upper and lower back areas and my back is still sore (a good sore!). At the retail front, Tanaya was super friendly and professional when explaining the different options and was friendly the minute I walked into the store front (a rarity these days). Had a massage here, tried it for the first time as a non-member. It was supposed to be a deep-tissue massage, but it felt like a very light massage despite asking to press harder. At the end, when I went to pay I was going to tip 15% (which I thought was gracious considering I was disappointed) but they said minimum tip allowed is 20% and automatically charged my card the extra tip. read more

She knew exactly what points to apply pressure to and where all of my pain was without me even having to tell her. This place is clean and has a relaxing environment. I only found one person who was really good at massages of course right before we moved. ALEX is hands down the best. If we were staying in the area I would consider staying just for him, otherwise the place is a pass. I was really disappointed with how they handled COVID and we were stationed in a different state on military orders, they did not care at all. Either use it or lose it is the motto and I get it, You have my money, however, you just have a bad business model. You should be wanting to please your clients at every step of the way. Plus I would have liked to see a better extension for COVID. I had racked up 8 massages and they wanted me to use them in the span of 4-6 weeks and they didn't have a lot of open appointments so I did lose credits which is really upsetting. Not to mention they won't let you do 2-1 hour massages so I could utilize my PAID credits. Wow! By far this Massage Envy was one of the best experiences I had. I had a massage with Jennifer who is perfect in what I was looking for. I am very sensitive when it comes to deep pressure but still need some tension relief since my job places a lot of stress on my body and she was able to accommodate that! Do not ever sign up for their prepaid massages! In spite of Covid-19, they only waived one month of fees and refused to refund any money. I specifically spoke with the general manager, who refused to offer any refunds. Now I'm sitting on over six prepaid massages that will expire before coronavirus is over. read more

All the tech did was try to up sell me for a longer session my next visit. I had a long week and sore muscles. My usual place was booked for that long weekend, so I was desperate. I thought the people were nice and they had a lot of knowledge about healing with massage and stretching. Some of the information on their website was wrong- for first timers- so I called to clarify and they said they couldn't change that information... So why not add it? I arrived on time and filled out the very simple paperwork on the tablet. We spoke about some of our personal experiences with muscle fatigue and chronic pain. It was very enlightening and encouraging. The person who was scheduled to give my massage was 10-15 minutes behind. I walked into the room and it smelled like BO. I thought it was the person who had just come out of the room and figured it would go away. I soon found out it was the massage therapist... Online, I had ordered a massage with aroma therapy and for the pressure to be firm. There were a few options for pressure: light-firm, firm, firm-deep, and deep. They described the pressure of "firm-deep" as, "intense pressure". I didn't want my body to be bruised so I chose firm. But the massage therapist's pressure was so light, I thought to myself, 'I'm glad I didn't chose "light-firm"'! There wasn't nearly as much pressure as I thought there would be. He was also shaking a little at times. I had a full hour massage and he spent most of the massage on my front. MAYBE 15 minutes on my entire back. He spent more time massaging my face than he did my back. I'm not one to critique harshly, but it was the worst massage (if you can call it that) I've every had. They didn't give me anything extra, but they did try to sell me a membership. I said no a few times, mostly because my schedule wouldn't work. Also, my regular massage therapist is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Massage Envy's $120 for an hour. And they massage better. The receptionist, Jordan, helped me figure out exactly what I wanted which was difficult for me since it was my first time there. She was very patient and made me feel so comfortable. I've been going to Massage Envy for a few years now. I recently moved from Montgomery County, and I had one of the best masseuses ever! I was skeptical about trying someone in this area- I've read a lot of mix reviews for this area, and considering my back problems, I was looking for a masseuse that knew what they were doing and wouldn't make the situation worse. This location is fairly new, so not that many reviews, but I decided to check it out because 1. It's the closest and 2. Although, it's closer and doesn't have as much reviews, the reviews were all good so far.... and I am glad I did! I have yet to try a man because from what I've heard, the men typically use deep pressure and with my back problems, I know I would be in pain and not enjoy it. I decided to do 60 minutes with Evelyn- I love her already! Evelyn has experience with scoliosis (my back problem) and she's also a nurse- which is a plus! Not only did she use different techniques that none of my past masseuses used, she also took the time to show me different stretches to try at home; AND she made me do the stretches on the table and I felt even better! She was friendly and I got to know her (which I like) and she didn't talk the whole massage (which I love)! I have already booked my next massage with Evelyn (90 minutes this time)! I'm typically in a lot of pain and or discomfort, so I was really lucky to find her- I'm sure with her, continuous trips to the chiropractor and exercise, I'll be as good as new! I definitely would recommend her! The staff were friendly as well. I don't know the lady's name who was upfront but she was really nice and pleasant (I feel like she had red hair but I could be wrong). I think the Springfield West location of Massage Envy is very good and have had a pleasant experience. I started going to one closer to my apartment in Alexandria and did not have the most pleasant experience (Massage therapist looked at me like I was crazy when I said the actual names of the muscles that bothered me-I'm a Physical Therapist Assistant so I know anatomy and it was disconcerning when the Massage therapist looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about, and the front desk staff was beyond rude). Needless to say I was glad when I found the Springfield West location even though it is out of my way. I have tried a few different of the massage therapists there and all have been great but I have been staying with Cathy for months now and she is fantastic! I always leave feeling so much better than when I walked in. I appreciate that she always remembers where my tight spots are and even months after I was in a car accident she remembered and asked if I was recovered from that. Springfield West location is doing something right and should give some pointers to other locations because they're customer service and massage therapists are really great. read more

I've booked two massages at this location in the past and I loved their services and everything until my mom booked two appointments last night at around 8:30pm and around 10pm she realized we had to cancel the appointments so we called and no one answered so we left a voicemail to cancel our appointments! We then called them at their opening time the next day and left a message yet again since no one answered. My mom finally got a call back from them around 10:00am, their cancellation policy literally states that you have to cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance! We called hours in advance yet the girl on the phone started to tell us how we can only cancel during business hours otherwise we can't cancel our appointments so we would get charged 50% of our total as the cancellation fee. Please be very careful before booking appointments with this branch! The girl on the phone wasn't clear on the cancellation policy itself and was very unprofessional! read more
