Excellent massage with a relaxing atmosphere. The therapist was attentive and professional, and the whole experience felt very calming.

I have a birthday coming up and with two kids, I rarely think about myself, especially when one of my kid's birthday is within less than a week of my own. A family member asked what they could get me and I said I'd love a massage. It was my part to do the research and find where I wanted to go. I've done the ultra luxe massages at the Four Seasons and I've also done Massage Envy. It's really the masseuse that makes the difference. I looked for best local massages near me and found Serendipity. Reading through the profiles of the massage therapists I was intrigued by Tonya, mainly for what I interrupted as would be a hard massage experience. My muscles definitely needed a hard touch, not just a relaxing massage. I appreciated the extra attention to the sore spots I noted. The process upon arrival was unclear. It was about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time that I made contact with an employee and was immediately helped. I'd return again in the future and recommend Tonya to anyone not afraid of a more pronounced touch to the massage. read more

My friend and I were so excited to try this place because of the high reviews and limited places to select from in the area. We did the sauna and facials. Well needless to say, we will be on the hunt for a better spot- FOR SURE. Here's what our feedback was to the establishment since they asked, and I decided to share here in case it's helpful to anyone thinking about going here: "The overall experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards expected of a professional wellness or spa environment. The walk between buildings felt awkward and disjointed, and the areas where services were provided were visibly unclean. This immediately detracted from the sense of calm and comfort that clients typically seek when booking spa services. The sauna instructions were overly complicated and nonintuitive. Rather than supporting a seamless, stress-free experience, the setup required unnecessary effort and attention at a time when guests should be able to arrive, decompress, and enjoy the service. One of the facials was particularly concerning. The provider fell out of her chair during the session, left the room for approximately 15 minutes within the allotted service time, and complained openly about missing supplies that had not been ordered. Her presentation and behavior appeared impaired or otherwise not fully attentive, which was alarming in a setting where professionalism, focus, and client safety are expected. There were also sanitation concerns. Gloves were not worn during the sessions- in particular extractions & close facial work, which raised hygiene and safety questions. Given the nature of skincare treatments and direct contact with facial areas, adherence to clear sanitation protocols is critical. Both facials were performed below expected standards. Product application felt careless rather than intentional for both clients. Creams were applied in a manner that resulted in product entering the nostril area for both clients. In one instance, the technician had to awkwardly clean the inside of a nostril during the service, which was unexpected and uncomfortable (and something never experienced prior). In the other facial, cream entered the nostril and remained there throughout the session, creating concern about inhalation; the client ultimately had to clean it out herself after the session. This experience was distracting and far from relaxing. Additionally, massage and sculpting techniques reflected a noticeable lack of refinement and training, particularly for clients accustomed to higher-quality services. Overall, the experience lacked attentiveness, professionalism, cleanliness, and the level of care expected in a premium setting." read more

It's been quite some time since I reviewed this business. I've been regularly visiting this studio since my last review - close to 7 years ago. First: the owner Jennifer is very involved in client satisfaction as well as being a therapist herself. It's wonderful to support a local small business in the area and she's always open to feedback and of course passes on kudos to her team. The staff is always warm and friendly. You feel welcome here. She has a wide variety of therapists on her team offering lots of specialties. In my previous review, I talked about the time between appointments for therapists to regroup and rest. This is one of the very few wellness teams that practice this and it's so needed for therapists to bring their very best self and serve you well. I'm so happy they still employ this practice today. My regular therapist is Barry. I've seen him for close to 5 years twice a month. My needs change each visit and we always take time to review what's going on - not just physically but mentally - and how best we can work together. Barry is a very intuitive therapist and he doesn't prescribe to a specific modality. His technique varies depending on my needs with many tools in his toolkit. He can work deeply, focus on a specific trouble spot, and also provide the most luxurious relaxation massage if that's what I need. He's excellent at working on mobility and range of motion through assisted stretching techniques if that's something you need in your session. Tonya is an incredibly talented therapist and when I have a sticky spot (shoulders, neck, arms or IT Band) I book time with her. She is detailed and attentive with a mastery of pressure and anatomy. When I've been training hard or feel discomfort, I look for time on her calendar. If you are a runner, weight trainer or athlete, Tonya is your person. If you like pressure, Swedish technique and trigger point, she is skilled and one of the most advanced therapist in this area I've worked with who isn't a practicing PT. She is absolutely surgical in her approach with intense focus. Do not let her tiny size fool you, she is powerhouse therapist and means business. This is not the person you go to looking for a rubdown or relaxation. It's deep, thoughtful, precise therapy within a supported environment of energy exchange and feedback. She has a spiritual connection with her work and enjoys supporting people in their health journey. As I've told many folks: when you need someone to really get in there it's Tonya. One tip for those looking for a therapist at this studio: read the bios of every single therapist. Each is specific to them and they are the author. Each one provides insight into their approach. What's awesome is the variety and skill at this studio. There is something to meet everyone's needs and there is not "I'm cheating on you feeling" if you need to see different ones depending on your needs. read more

Woke up on the day of a scheduled massage with cough and congestion. Called to RESCHEDULE, and they don't say "oh I'm sorry you're not feeling well" or "what day would you like to reschedule for?" They only harp about how they're charging a cancellation fee. Do you really want sick people coming in to cough in your so called "wellness" studio? Shame on you. read more

Great massage! I went in with very tight neck and shoulders. I have been on a year long journey with my neck and am regularly in physical therapy but it is just very superficial massage. My previous massage therapist stopped practicing so I had to find a new one. After searching reviews of local services I found Serendipity and I'm so glad I did! I've been three times, all for massages with Jennifer. Hands down best massages I've ever had. The studio is very nice and clean. They use all natural products that I have never had a reaction to (and I have very sensitive skin). Serendipity offers so many other services as well, including stretch labs, sauna, and body treatments, but I haven't branched out yet b/c the massages are just so good. I was a bit underwhelmed when I came for my appointment. Prior to that I felt like it seemed pretty put together with the texted correspondence. 1) The directions when you go to the location tell you to keep straight if you're going to upstairs suites with your number which leads you to the entrance of a back office and is even hard to find that. I think it would be helpful for people to explain that when you come in, you don't listen to that sign direction. it didn't present a very pulled together look when I'm having to enter through the back office. 2) The waiting room looks a bit like things are thrown together and there was no spa like smell. It would be nice to be diffusing some eucalyptus perhaps in that area especially because they do use the doterra oils which is great. It didn't really have a sophisticated feel to it and it was a bit of an odd set up that the office is off one of the hallways. As when it was done with my service, there were a few people kind of bunched up on each other, waiting to be served. It was a bit awkward. 3) The rooms were also a bit worn. I noticed the door needed repainting and the decor was a bit aged. It did feel like there was not much AC in the massage room. Again, it was a 100° day as well. 4) The massage therapist I had was awesome and I really liked that. He used a variety of oils. I would give him five out of five stars. 5) Unfortunately, I had to remind him that I was doing a facial afterwards so he did bring me a basket and a robe and slippers, but I'm a size 11 women's shoe and the slippers were probably a small that I could barely get my feet into. The robe was probably a medium did not fit so I had to put all my clothes back on to go to the facial room. I think it's important to have a variety of sizes and currently I'm more of a double XL. He did bring water for me and a glass afterwards, which was refreshing because it was pretty hot in the room and I did have to ask for the table to be turned off. I think it's important in the beginning to remind people to ask people if they want the warm table on her, especially in the summer on such a warm day. 6) The facial was overall very good. I would probably give about three out of five stars on that. I do think the items that she used were very good for my skin and I did like the end product. I felt that she was a little bit under experienced as when she was putting the wrap around my hair. She seemed to struggle with that as well. Also, on some of the Massage, I felt like she was a little bit more repetitive than needed. And, again the wrap that goes around you was probably more of a small or a medium, so it didn't fit and I just had to lay it over me. In the future, I could bring my own with me, but I never need to do this when I'm paying this price. Most spas are, well-versed in sizing of slippers and robes and the overall experience. I feel like for the services that I got I probably could come again, bringing my own slippers, my own robe and knowing that it's gonna be a little lackluster when I check in check out and in between, but I think I would rather look at a place that puts a little bit more effort into it overall look. read more

I've been here a few times over the years. It was ok a few years ago but I tried it again after having a pretty stressful last few weeks I decided I would give them another shot since I really wanted to spend today relaxing and my go to massage place had no openings. This was hands-down the absolute worst massage I have ever had. I get them fairly regularly for the last decade and I have never had anybody jerk my body around as fast and unpleasantly as my massage here. I even checked the table afterwards to see if it was wobbly. I also told the masseuse 2 to 3 times not to push on my joints and she kept pushing on my shoulder. I would give a one star, but I kind of feel bad because she seemed nice and there was one moment where she listened to me and slowed it down, but that didn't last very long. I actually very much considered just telling her to forget it and leaving halfway through. And yes I told her at the beginning that while I did want some "work" done I also wanted to relax. This was the opposite of relaxing. Update: I moved the rating up as I do appreciate the spa owner getting in touch with me and working to give me a complimentary massage with another masseuse. I had a great massage, very thorough exactly what I wanted and needed. My masseuse listened to my concerns and what I wanted to get out of my hour. I could've done without hearing my masseuse's political views, it was completely unwarranted and unsolicited. She just took it upon herself to let me know how she felt about the current state of things. What a wonderful first time experience! I was super sore from Pilates reformer all week and in desperate need of a massage. I called and they were able to help me customize a package (60 min facial and 90 min massage) and got me in the next day. Staff are extremely nice and welcoming! Five stars for the massage. Like, one star for the most awkward conversation I've ever had DURING a massage. I don't like chatting while I get a massage in the first place. I find having to carry on a conversation with a stranger makes me anxious. A few niceties I'm all about: how've you been, etc. and any discussion about how my body is feeling and how to best massage is obviously totally fine. But please, for the love of god, don't make me explain why I can't do something unethical and illegal at my job even if you dont see why that is the case. It was legit creepy. Despite the good massage I don't feel I can ever return because I felt SO FLIPPIN UNCOMFORTABLE. The place was really clean, the environment was so relaxing and I didn't have to wait for Barry to take me in. He was ready for me. The actual inside of the business location exudes tranquility. Bathroom is also very nice, clean, and well kept. My sweet boyfriend brought me here for a couples massage as a gift for my 30th birthday. Our massage therapists inquired about specific areas of our bodies that we wanted for them to work on. I specified my neck, shoulders, and upper back area. My boyfriend requested that his lower back be focused on. Both our massages were fantastic. Not only did they give extra attention to our specified locations, but they were able to thoroughly work on the rest of our bodies as well. I've been several times and always get massaged by Steven. I went to try out an Ashiatsu massage for the first time and I liked it so much that it's the only type I get now - and always with Steven. I always feel infinitely better when I leave and always look forward to my next visit. During this time of covid, we are instructed to stay in our car and call when we arrive, wear masks, take our shoes off before we enter, and we no longer shake hands.
