I've been going to the Sephora store in Evergreen Walk (when I'm in the area) for several years now. It's a bit of a smaller Sephora. Many of the stores are shut down in this shopping center, but Sephora is still standing. Here you'll find most of the upscale skin care and makeup, as well as men's and women's fragrances. Since it's a smaller store, they may not carry all the items that a larger store carries. However, they will order that item for you or provide you with a sample of something similar. I went here with my friend over the weekend, and one of the sales associates Rebecca, was very helpful in finding her color matches for all the items she wanted. Currently during the rise of Covid cases they are restricting the number of guests inside the store. There might be a short wait to get inside. I enjoy coming here for specific skin care items. The sales associates are friendly and helpful, and most of the time I find what I'm looking for. read more

I was extremely pleased with my service at this Sephora. Specifically with the customer service they provided. Kim, Amber and Alyssa all helped me with retuning products from a skincare line that was breaking me out. Extremely helpful, personable, and understanding! The sales associates are great. I had help from several sales associates while looking for a new fragrance and matching me for foundation. Couldn't have asked for better service overall. Shelves are stocked and neat. For someone who gets lost entering the world of cosmetics Sephora was a good starting point. The experts there create an interactive shopping environment and guide you in the right direction. I love the living proof hair product line, which is why I was here... they let me sample it quite a few times before I actually bought it. This is a really nice perk to test products before you buy them. I don't know any other store which would allow that. They don't carry all of the products in store (some are online only) but they are willing to place an order for you, includes the free shipping...but the downside to that is, you don't get the free samples as you would when you place the order yourself. If you're a beauty insider you have other perks too like rewards and birthday gifts..premium club members get exclusive gifts, event invitations, and early access to products. read more

I've been shopping here for a while, but this is the first time I was unimpressed by staff/ customer service. I felt like I was being followed, and watched like I was going to steal something at any given moment. Then when I had a question regarding why all the samples were broken they seemed annoyed. (Almost all of the applicators are broken off, so people can't use them. I understand the concern, but for a mascara especially I want to know what it looks like.) I was told they could show me online, but why bother shopping in a store? I also asked for help trying to find a certain lip gloss color, again cue the annoyance. The most polite one was a tall, skinny blonde. She respected my space as I shopped, but did check in. The rest of the gaggle was unapproachable, and gave off an uncomfortable vibe. Felt like I was high school, and couldn't go near the "cool" girls. Last time I'll go there in a hoodie and unwashed hair! I'll be sure to be a 10/10 so no one thinks I'm stealing I gave 3 stars because I do enjoy their brand, selections, and location. read more

I went into the store to pick up an online order since I was visiting a relative in the area. The associate that helped me with that was awesome. After I decided to browse after picking up my order, my experience went downhill from there. Another associate asked if I needed help, I told her no. As I walked around the store exploring the different brands and testing products for myself, she kept following me every step of the way. Even at checkout, as I was browsing the impulse mini items, she went over to the register to whisper to another associate there, looked at me and then sent her out onto the sales floor. So much to brag about Sephora especially this location. Love the staff, they have excellent knowledge about every product have patience to listen about your concerns be it makeup, beauty care, samples or questions. I have visited numerous times to this location and have been happy every time. The advantage of Sephora to ulta is greatest as I love the rewards carry forward unlike ulta(expire after few months) and also you can sample everything and buy what works for you. I love the high end brands here coz you have the freedom to sample and then invest in the products. To me this makes more sense while buying the expensive makeups. The Sephora collection is another all time favorite, I love their lipsticks and eye pencils. They have excellent face masks, hair masks with remarkable results. My all time favorite is the green clay mask and coconut hair mask. This location also is good with stocks, especially with the minis. The Sephora play is an awesome subscription. The perks for insider is great like the birthday gift, redemption on the rewards! read more

As someone who has a very basic makeup regimen (5 minutes and I'm ready to go), all the different types of product at Sephora are lost on me. But I LOVE shopping here to restock on my favorite perfumes. Luckily, the staff are so friendly and helpful that I can be in and out without getting overwhelmed. I usually just name-drop the perfumes I need to restock on and they can instantly point me to the exact display and shelf to find what I need. If you want to try new perfumes, they'll make little trial kits for you. It usually fits a few "servings" of fragrance, so you can take it home and try it out before investing in the real thing. And whether you love makeup or fragrances or skin care products, it's also helpful to sign up for the Sephora insider card. If you present your card at checkout, you'll get that month's free sampler kit of products, plus a free gift during your birthday month. Who doesn't love a freebie?! read more

Definitely hit or miss at this location. I have had outstanding customer service and horrible service. On my last visit the store was rather quiet, surprising for a weekend day; there were two workers by the door "greeting" customers as they walked in, but they were too engrossed in their conversation to offer assistance. I was looking at a product which was located in the front of the store, close to where they were standing, yet neither of them offered help. When I approached them, one of them said that she could have another employee "color match" me. Um, I'm speaking with you and literally there's nobody else in the store, maybe you can offer me some assistance so I can make an adequate choice. I wanted to try something new and apply my Sephora play points, but she made it seem like it was a big hassle to help me, so I left and went to Sephora inside JCPenney, where they don't mind doing their job. read more

This Sephora is a great addition to Evergreen Walk!! I have always been pleased with the customer service I have received here as all of the associates are helpful but do not smother you. If you need the space, they give it to you. I feel compelled to write a review after the stellar makeover I received from Gracie this past Monday morning. I was having a professional head shot taken at work so I wanted to step up my makeup game without looking overdone. I explained this to her and my makeup came out fabulous. It still looked completely natural and I didn't leave looking like a drag queen. Not only did my makeup look great, but she introduced me to some new products and techniques that I could easily incorporate into my daily routine. You don't necessarily pay for the makeover, but you have to spend $50 which was the perfect opportunity for me to purchase some of these new products. I felt very comfortable with everything she did and not only did I love my look, I can now easily create it at home! read more

This location is SO hit or miss. There are a few associates who understand that sometimes you want to peruse in peace, but for that one girl there are six of them who hover and make you feel uncomfortable. I've stopped by here multiple times for specific products that they are out of (my mistake for returning, I guess) and while I'm sure the women think they're being helpful by suggesting three+ other products that are "comparable" while you're trying to use their little computer to see what your options are, it's actually kind of annoying. Part of being in retail is being able to understand your client, and I think this store doesn't get that. I will say that the one girl who has helped me multiple times after several other attendants have suggested products (that are completely different than what I asked for mind you), is stellar. She listens, she's friendly and she knows her products. Her fellow associates could use to take a page out of her book and listen to their clients. read more

Let's just say...rude is not even the right word... the correct word escapes me. I walked in just to peruse and get some samples of some new makeup coming out. I had checked he night before and it was sold on the website so I thought 'let me go in to see if they have it'. I asked some questions and was basically told I was wrong on a foundation I knew came out. I was like "strange cause this foundation is on your website being sold as we speak but it's ok the store launch might be later on would you know when?" I usually go to the one in west farms but I was in the area so I popped into the south Windsor one. I was looking for the Bobbi Brown foundation stick and the Naked Pallet by UD. Turns out that this store didn't carry Bobbi Brown and they didn't have any Nakeds left. 0/2. I was sad but what can I do? The staff here aren't as helpful as the ones in west farms either. They chit chatted with each other for fifteen minutes before one of them went up to me. She looked upset that she had to stop her conversation to come "help" me out. Small store. I must have smelled every perfume and cologne in this entire store. I thought a couple of times that had someone asked me to do the same I would have lost it. The proverbial, kid in a candy store, fits here. All of my favorite brands of fragrances and cosmetics. I was looking for a tinted sunscreen on this visit. So, here's the thing. I love Sephora, but I would love it more if I had way more disposable income. Though I truly appreciate their rewards points for every dollar you spend, I wish they offered more coupons or discounts, as the products they carry are so high-end and pricey. I do love their nail polish display that includes faux nails painted the color of the polishes, which are set up in a way that you can put your own nail under them to see how the color looks on your hand. Call me silly, but I was sort of thrilled by this. Holding a bottle up to my skin/nails will just never quite do after this experience. As I mentioned in my tip, this Sephora is smaller than the one in West Farms, but still gets the job done. Seriously though, go peep the nail polish display. read more

Customer service is terrible. I was in there for 20 minutes, it wasn't busy, there were 5 employees on two of which were helping customers. Not one employee greeted me or tried to help me. Don't go to this location. The Mohegan Sun and West farms locations are far superior. The employees definitely judge customers by their appearance. They are highly disrespectful. read more

Stalked at Sephora. I have never in this day and age experienced this type of profiling. I walked in , and was asked if I needed anything. I responded that I knew what I was looking for, and proceeded on. It was about 30 seconds before a total of FIVE employees were hovering over me. One at each end of the isle pretending to shuffle through product. I literally started to have fun with them and walk around the store to see if they would follow me and sure enough, they did. This was not in the spirit of customer service, it was clearly to make me feel uncomfortable and though I was being watched. I put one product on the shelf and an employee literally reached over me to adjust how I had put it back. ??? I would NEVER shop at this location again. I have had good experiences with other Sephora stores so I am not sure if this one in particular engages in this type of profiling but it was truly obnoxious. FOUR employees followed me to the front of the store while I was leaving I placed the three products I was considering getting back on the shelf. I am sure they were just doing their job based on whatever manager in charge told them but it was just awful to be treated like that. Truly inexcusable. read more

I absolutely LOVE Sephora, and this is my favorite location. Last week was my most recent visit. My friend and I were in search of new everyday skin care products to try, but did not know where to start due to their huge selection. A very friendly and knowledgeable associate helped us from A to Z. She recommended trying the MURAD line. I purchased a cleanser, toner, spot treatment, and all day moisturizer. The associate also gave us each a sample of the lines under eye cream to try. I purchased a few Sephora masks as well, for fun. I'm a week into using Murad, and there's a very noticeable difference in my skin already. It feels so smooth and clean! I'm thankful for this associate for helping me find my new favorite skin care line. I'm also a fan of the Sephora point systems where you can score some free goodies while checking out if you have enough points!! Always a pleasant visit!! read more

I honestly wish I could give five stars because all of the other employees were actually wonderful, except one. I was there to spend a great deal of money on Mother's Day gifts and treats for myself, and I tried to start a conversation with a employee who was dressed in normal clothes and had short hair with purple lipstick she seemed so disinterested like she wanted to get away from me and it made me so uncomfortable that I finished up my shopping and left. I don't understand why she had to have such a stink face on I was polite and spending a lot of money there. I won't be shopping there if I walk in and she's there. Visiting family from Los Angeles and I was so excited to finally get into a Sephora that I knew would be a bit less crowded than the ones in SoCal. After lingering around the Fenty Beauty section for about 7min without any store associates coming over to help I just began to color match myself. About 10min later a girl walking by ask me if I needed any help. I was actually surprised because although I was super eager to buy a couple new items from the Fenty Beauty section, after telling her I don't really use a moisturizer she basically told me that particular makeup brand wouldn't be good for me. I mean come one girl, Im ready to spend some money in here and she pretty much prevented me from doing so. She took me around the store and I showed me what I quickly noticed were the most expensive moisturizers. Little knowledge of any products, clearly you could tell she was trying to sell some of the main products. At the end of my trip I ended up buying the Laura Mercier powder I came in there for and simply asked for two samples of the moisturizers she tried to sell me. Sephora missed out on some sales because I was definitely ready to buy some new makeup today. read more

This was my first time going to this location, and it will be my last. Upon walking in I was looked at, not greeted. I had to say hello first to a "sales" associate who was leaning on a fixture. As I begin to look around, the associate walks away in the opposite direction. I was not once asked if I needed help by 4 different associates who continued to put items back in front of where I was looking. I was juggling numerous items in front of associates and not once asked if they could put anything up front for me, especially being very visibly pregnant. I spent over $200 on my items and it would've been nice to have some insight on what I purchased or even just someone asking if I needed any help. Normally I have always shopped at this store. However today there was a line of people waiting to check out and one out of the two cashiers proudly announces "I'm going on break!" When I was finally the second one in line, the person ahead of me had returns, was purchasing other items, getting samples etc. This alone was 10 minutes. Oh, then it had to be given back on a gift card. I left my items on the counter and left (probably a $200 sale at least). I decided to pop into South Windsor's new Sephora at Evergreen Walk on Monday night, simply to pick up my free birthday gift (Fresh Sugar Kisses Mini-Lip Duo) and to browse new products. I expected the usual rude and/or clueless sales associates, and I figured the store would be mobbed since it's brand new (hey, just look at the huge queue of folks at the Pinkberry right across the street). But I was wrong! I was greeted by several cheery, eager sales associates who complimented me on my hair, eye makeup, and necklace lol. We chatted about long-wearing red lipgloss, bright liquid liners, and foundation primers...you know, the usual. ;) No rudeness or attitude here. I walked out of Sephora feeling pretty good about myself, and a free birthday gift and pretty lipliner to boot. Now that I have this new Sephora about 2 minutes away from home, I probably won't ever have to make the trek to the Westfarms Mall location again. read more

I came here for the first time a few months ago I was treated well and nice! I came by the second time and of course again nice and got me into buying a foundation I never used before! They told me it would work good with my oily skin! So I was convinced and purchased it! Used it three times with beauty blender brush and hands all made my face oily! Even used two different setting powders still oily!! Excessive oil not the type you can re-powder for or blot with a oil sheet! So I went to return it! Once they saw me coming in with the bag all there attitudes changed! The lady in the cashier older lady didn't even greet me just grabbed my receipt I tried to tell her why I was bringing it back and sarcastically she said it's ok but didn't even look at me! And I was going to exchange but with that treatment I changed my mind! And when she was done didn't even look at me stapled the receipts and handed money and receipts to me and turned around to place her copy in a plastic folder behind her so I just walked away and will not be returning!!! read more

As other reviews stated.....awful service. I typically go to the Sephora at Mohegan Sun where staff welcomes everyone and help is offered very quickly. The entire time I was at the Evergreen Walk Sephora today, not one staff person said hello or came over to assist me. I saw several of them standing around and chatting to each other and others walk past me, look at me and kept walking. And, I was clearly looking around for someone to help me. These women clearly do not want to be there. Time for a new occupation ladies. Besides all that, it took a while to get my credit card through with one of these geniuses telling me my card is invalid when I just came from a different store with no problem. After calling my bank and they told me the problem was with the store's equipment and not with my card, it finally went through as debit. Not shopping there again. read more
