I went to Ulta on May 4th and it was like a party in the store. Music bumping, saxophone playing, chairs set up with customers getting their makeup done, and most of all employees at the ready waiting to help! I went in looking for a tinted moisturizer as I'm just getting back into makeup again following covid. Noelle was happy to assist me. She was incredibly knowledgeable, listened to my needs, and gave me great makeup tips that I will share with friends. She answered all my questions and I found a new makeup routine that I'm very happy with! I've been to many Ulta locations, and I find it very frustrating to not be able to find a staff member who can really spend the time helping me find what I'm looking for. Yesterdays's event is a huge step in the right direction. I really appreciated the one on one (not rushed) time. A huge shout out to Noelle and Ulta for making this happen! read more

I went to Ulta beauty to get my hair done. So I went in for blonding service. My hair was already blonde. But my roots were grown out. so the girl matched my hair so it was blonde. Then she put in dye in my hair that I did not want. I told her multiple times I didn't want it. She still did it after we told her I didn't want it, and she was instructed to fix it and she went and put more dye in my hair which made it even darker. This is the third or fourth time that my hair has been messed up at Ulta. Managers know about it and they don't care. I received my refund but even that doesn't fix my hair. The worst management. The manager tried to get me to pay to have my hair fixed, absolutely absurd. read more

Spent time picking out stuff to buy and they had signs everywhere for the line that there was a gift with purchase. Waited in a long line to buy it and get my gift with purchase. The girl helping me was lame she barely looked and couldn't find it and really didn't care. Why don't they take down their stupid signs when they are out of a promotion? What an annoying experience. This is my favorite Ulta by far and is mainly because is always perfectly stocked and nice and clean. I personally would consider myself a Sephora type of gal but as of late the drug store has stepped up its game and I'm reconsidering and you can also have some high end brands like Too Face, Anatasia, Urban Decay and Lacome. I love that I can get Some online brands like bh cosmetics, color pop and morphe in store at Ulta. The fact that you can get affordable and high-end makeup and hair products makes it a pretty amazing store to shop. The staff are usually friendly and knowledgeable of the products they carry. I think it really says something about an establishment when I walk in with a good mood but walk out with a bad one. I entered for help matching my skin to a foundation and asked for help with that, and maybe to test them. Covid makes it so you cannot test the foundations there at the moment, so I accepted that. I'm pretty positive so I kept up a good mood going about finding my shade with the app. I couldnt really figure out how to sort through all the foundations that appeared once I was matched with one, so I asked for help again and the representative was able to assist how to filter through them. It was easy to find in the store, my selected foundation. I think overall all I just got a weird energy upon that initial walk-in. There were two representatives to greet me rather than just one. Yes they said welcome and everything, and pointed me in the right direction which was good. It was just awkward because I felt like I wasn't valuable, like I was interrupting their conversation and they wanted to move on. Or maybe I felt like I was being judged for the reason I was there. It's a very clean establishment. Those working at the registers were sanitizing thoroughly after every customer, which is really nice. The supervisors are really great for not sending home their coworkers for something like a dress code problem. I witnessed a supervisor say to an employee that their shirt needed to be a little longer next time. It was a respectful conversation. Whereas when I worked as a part-time employee, I was sent home for not meeting dress code. So I'm really glad I didn't have to witness the lady go home. It was just a simple reminder. Manger and workers are so annoying me and my friend ( that are teenagers ) go into this specific Ulta all the time and when we are there we at-least buy something every time. This ulta has good staff who help you find your needs. The location is great. I have been visiting this store from the time they opened. I usually shop the drugstore brand here and the collection is lovely. The only downside is the stocks are always unavailable and also the products are not in the bin to try. The rewards don't carry forward they expire after few months, which I don't like about it! Also no samples are available. They also have high end brands but I prefer Sephora with this. So far I haven't tried the salon, however heard mixed reviews from my friends. read more

Was christmas shopping with my 15 year old daughter in Ulta. When we got to the register my daughter was told she could not be at the check out counter with me. I thought i misunderstood the cashier so she says "You need to move away from the counter, go stand by the doors" I didn't know what to do or say. Ultra Beauty is the secret love child resulting from torrid relationship between your favorite drug store and high end beauty products. Located in the middle of a Manchester strip mall, if you did not know what lay beyond the doors you might drive right by it. But don't! Stop the car and enter - for what is inside will make all beauty camps scream with joy. I had only recently heard of Ultra Beauty so since I was in the area I decided to see if I could find some items that I needed. From Cover Girl to Bare Minerals, this store covers all budgets. In addition to hair and beauty products, they also carry a variety of beauty tools and fragrences. They also have a good selection of men's products. As with another store located up the road - there were several employees ready to assist customers with all manners of beauty questions and I even noticed some of the employees conducting makeovers. I was able to find 3 of the 4 products I was looking for and the one of the more "higher end" products was reasonable priced and dare I say a couple of dollars cheaper than at my local salon. Although I don't travel to Manchester that often - I might just have to head east the river a bit more often. read more

Really nice and helpful staff. They're always nice, helpful and patient. I have been eyeing this T3 trio curling wand set for a WHILE now because I've seen many "influencers" using it and raving about it. So I waited until a 20% coupon came out. Soooo I got it. And I can't wait, it has a convertible base, world wide voltage so I won't worry about burning it out when I travel and you can change what size width you use for your wand. I mean come on, it's every girls dream hair tool! I am very excited about this. The store is well organized. Only the high volume stores have these in stock. I chose her based on a client review here and I highly recommend you book with her. I am growing out a year old horrible cut and balayage from another salon and this is the first time I've been happy with it. I have NEVER walked out of a salon feeling amazing and tonight I did. Amber was personable, sweet, fun to talk to, and thoughtfully creative! I wanted a simple trim and she made a suggestion as she worked, we went with it and it was fabulous. She textured my hair, gave me a beautiful lob, and styled it the best it's ever looked. Book with Amber. I can't imagine you wouldn't walk away feeling beautiful and excited for next time! Edit; I went in for a haircut on 4/13 at 10am, which was booked by the stylist. The stylist was not there and the store tried calling her. She said she didn't know why someone booked her at 10 because she doesn't come in until 11, and she said she tried calling me. I did not have any missed calls, and the salon double checked my phone number in the system, which was correct. No one was available and I was told the manager would be calling me to rectify the situation. Have not received a call and plan to cancel the rescheduled appointment that I made. read more

I really like this store! Mainly for its visuals, not so much its location. I've gotten my eyebrows done and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the service was. The woman was so nice to explain to me what I should do to help me maintain them on my own until I came back. No beauty consultant has ever really instructed me on how to do my eyebrows, so I was really grateful. This is a very high end store for beauty products, but it is worth it, because the staff is very knowledgeable, and you can also get high quality name brand perfumes as well without going to the dreadful town mall (caveat emptor : the perfume market in Buckland Hills Mall sells imposters!!)! I'm not really one to write Yelp reviews - I work in customer service, I understand how annoying they are - but I also know that sometimes corporate reads these and sometimes something good can come from them. First of all, this Ulta is very clean and organized. No complaints there at all. I came in here today just to buy a Versace Dylan Blue cologne and to find a thermal protector spray for my hair. The first employee that helped me find the right spray was super sweet and helpful! However, when I went to go check out at the front, the employee that rung me out made me feel super uncomfortable. She insisted that I sign up for an Ulta card and asked me over and over and over again if I wanted to sign up for it - even after I kept politely declining, explaining that I don't really shop at Ulta that much - she went on an about the perks of the Ulta card system and it's benefits and why I should get one. At that point I just agreed to get her to stop (mind you, she had asked me four times at this point if I wanted one. She literally wouldn't ring me out and just kept insisting I needed one.) She put in my phone #, and to my surprise, I apparently already had an Ulta account with some points on it - something I probably did months if not years ago and had forgotten. No big deal, whatever. In a super condescending tone, the sales associate proceeds to go, "Oh, look! You already have one! If you had been more positive about it, you would have already known that you had an account." I literally tripped on this for a second and was really taken aback. I paid as fast as possible even as she rambled on and on about the points system AGAIN, and I finally got out of there. Word of advice - if a customer is just trying to politely decline an offer, don't be insistent to the point where you make them uncomfortable. In no way was I rude or "negative" towards her, I just was in a time crunch and needed to pay and leave. The comment about how "if I had been more positive" was completely unnecessary and came across as extremely condescending. I'm a very forgiving and polite person when it comes to retail and customer service and even after she said that, I still said thank you and moved along. Once again, not one to write reviews. That experience just really shocked me. Probably won't come back here for a while. read more

The best prices on supplies are around Christmas. The place has always been clean and organized. It is a bit pricey but there is cheapy makeup all the way through the good stuff. Brow bar is good too but a tad over priced. Definitely use the online coupons or coupons in the app. I have not tried the salon services. read more

Went in to get a foundation and a few other products. My sister and I were not greeted at the door, but this isn't the end of the world and we continued to look for our products. After about 5 minutes of searching, a woman in a white jacket started to do some organizing 2 aisles over. She then began open mouth coughing on the products. She did not cover her mouth or attempt to detain her cough in a sleeve. She did not have a mask on. My sister decided to let one of the other workers know about the experience and ask if she could be ask the woman to please cover her mouth, it is still a pandemic. The woman at the register looked confused. Her lipstick was all over her face, which has nothing to do with anything, but is important to note because it's a makeup store and we just couldn't even take her seriously. Hit a mirror boo. Anywho, what we perceive to be a manager walks over and says "thank you for the information," but makes 0 attempt to address the woman in the white coat. The woman in the white coat continued to cough over products, and sniffle her way about each aisle she was in. We put our products back and left. As we walked out, the woman with the red lipstick smeared all over her mouth attempted to passive aggressively say "have a nice day ladies..."Sounds harmless, but we've all been there before. We told her not to try it and she sauntered away. Hopefully to get a lip liner. We Walked into Sephora and everyone had a mask on, and all their makeup was in tact... mask and all. Disappointing experience at Ulta in terms of customer service and health safety during this pandemic. We get it, allergies, colds still exist. Covering your mouth does too. read more

I've always loved Ulta. It's my go to place for cosmetics. A little pricey but absolutely worth it. I had a wonderful experience today when I went in. I went in for blush and Olivia (a makeup artist) was happy to help me try different products. She helped me with a full face of urban decay products and had multiple helpful tips for at home application. I'm not the best with makeup but she explained contouring like a pro. And the products were wonderful! She was extremely cheerful and helpful. My cashier-Ashley was wonderful as well. I'd forgotten I had a gift card and she let me return and item to use the gift card immediately. I felt terrible since there was a line but she was very quick and efficient and was understanding. I absolutely recommend this Ulta. I've had wonderful experiences. read more

My husband's aunt had frequented Ulta in her previous home state of Wisconsin. She raved about it so I was more than elated when she she happened to stumble upon this one. It was love at first site for me. I truly enjoy having the option to experience various levels of quality all in one location. The variety of product is best in class as this is a large store with a convenient location. You can find your run-of-the-mill selections you could find at your local CVS or you can find your salon shampoo that costs a pretty penny. I frequent the store now and actually get my eyebrows done here. Why it costs a few more dollars than the local nail salon. they seem to care about actually evening off the 'brows...as opposed to just slapping on that wax, ripping it off, and just sending you on your way. Pleasurable experience. They offer free make-overs after the brow clean-up if you so desire. I am not a huge make-up fan so I typically politely decline, but nice to have that option if you have a hot date or just feel like a nice pick-me-up. I recently tried their salon and it was also a positive experience for me. The only bit of criticism I have is that all the services are out in the open so the people shopping are walking by you as you are getting your brows waxed or your hair cut. It is a slightly impersonal environment, but nothing that I took me too long to get used to. The store is nice...product and services all in one location. I like that. That staff is always very courteous and quick to offer help. They also tend to run really nice sales if you hit them right. One of the best things is they have a rewards program. They collect how much you spend over a designated period of time and then send a rewards coupon indicating what level of spend you are at. They give you lots of options to choose from when redeeming your reward. This coupled with the coupons they send often, makes you feel like a truly valued customer. Besides...for the amount I spend there, it is nice to get a return. Anyway, love Ulta, very glad it came to town. My favorite is Bliss and they had the super minty soap and scrub as well as the soapy suds. The cashier was friendly and attentive. I was there on a Friday evening just before the store closed. A friend recommended Ulta to me to have a gel manicure done for my wedding. Thank goodness I was just testing out colors for my first visit. I was warmly greeted by the woman, but it was downhill from there. She filed my nails completely uneven, so much so that I had to stop at a store on the way home to purchase a metal file and fix them in the car, because I was nervous I would have no nails left if I asked her to fix them. The rest of the application went smooth, but they did not last. I had them done on Monday and by Tuesday two of my nails had already peeled off. By Friday I called to have the remaining gel polish (only remaining on 5 nails) removed. I have since had them done at other locations and they last for weeks. The store does have a great selection of polishes and colors though, but they are a bit pricey. read more

I feel really bad about giving this spot a bad review because the nail technician was really nice. However, the OPI gel manicure that I received...not so nice. When she pushed back my cuticles, it took every fiber of my being not to scream from the pain. The finished product was sloppy and the polish chipped the next day. I Instagramed a pic of my manicure to my friends and they thought the $20 discount special was paying too much. I can't get the website appointment booking process to work....ever...so I reached out for help from customer service as they have some sort of technical glitch. They responded "sorry, I can't book your appointment for you". I didn't want them to book my appointment , I just wanted them to correct the technical issue, (or at least pretend to look into it). I love beauty stores! Shopping for new makeup is always fun, but this Ulta is a joke! The sales associates never ask if you need help, instead they just stand around and chat with each other. Worst shopping experience ever. I'm a retail Store Manager and I decided to take my teenage daughter and my elderly mother to Ulta after work today to purchase some items. I was asked upon entering the Store what I needed which was nice, or so I thought, and I handed the associate the spent foundation stick I was there to replace. She picked it up for me, then proceeded to FOLLOW US THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE. The store was full of shoppers, no one else was being followed and we were the only Black people in the store. I have previously been followed in this store, but I chalked it up to an obnoxious associate, I'm now convinced it's policy. I will NOT be back. Ulta is my go to store for makeup, they have a great assortment of products to choose from depending on how much you want to spend. I've never had an issue with the customer service, I am always greeted when I go in and usually asked if I am looking for a certain product.
