I am new to Manchester and was relying on Yelp to help me find my new hair salon. I came across this salon and decided to give them a try. I first reached out via their Yelp page to inquire about an appointment. They were super responsive even during the days they were closed. You do have to place a credit card on file when you make your appointment. They also contacted me a few hours prior to let me know the hairstylist was available if I'd like to come in sooner which I greatly appreciated. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately and after completing the new client forms, I was offered a refreshment. I went with red wine and was so surprised at this kindness. My hairstylist was Lindsay and she was AWESOME. She asked me questions and double checked with me on everything she was doing. I ended up going for a drastic cut and she made me feel very reassured about my choice. You get a discount too for it being your first time! I moved to CT from Los Angeles, CA in October of last year and when I tell you I have a HARD time trusting people with cutting my hair, I MEAN IT! Not only did Maddie make me feel super comfy, she did an amazing job with the BIG CHOP! I usually have my hair in a pixie cut with a #2 on the sides and nape of my neck area, but I went on a whim and tried something different and I LOVE IT! 10/10 would recommend the salon AND MADDIE and I'm so GLAD to have found an amazing stylist who I can go to again and again. Very disappointed with this place. I had an appointment scheduled for the 20th of March for my first chemical peel. I showed up and after filling out a questionnaire was told that I would not be able to have my peel because I had been using my dermatologist prescribed products on my face. Ashely (the esthetician) was super nice and apologetic, she explained that they had just started doing chemical peels so they didn't a proper consultation process in place, and that they had rescheduled about 10 appointments in the past two weeks or the same problem. My appointment was rescheduled to March 31st. Around noon on the 31st I was called to see if I could come in for my appointment earlier as Ashley wasn't feeling well. I said I could come about an hour earlier, they said that was fine and they'd see me then. They then called me about an hour later and said Ashley had to go home and I would have to reschedule my appointment (which was in about 2 hours). I was fine with this and rescheduled to May 1st. May 1st I had my chemical peel, Ashley was AMAZING and I ended up spending over $300 on the peel itself as well as buying new products. The week before I had also gotten a hair cut and my boyfriend got his hair done as well, which was about another $100 between the two of us. I had a color appointment booked for tomorrow (May 18th) but around 1 pm I reached out to let them know I was having a family emergency and had to go out of town, and was hoping to reschedule for another weekend. I was told my card would still be charge since I have a 20 hour notice instead of a 24 hour cancellation notice. I have been more than accommodating when they needed to reschedule me, AND I have now spend hundreds of dollars and was planning on spending much more as I had another chemical peel, cut, and a full color scheduled. But because I failed to notify them 4 hours earlier, they are going to charge my card 50% of my visit. If you are going to strictly enforce your cancelation policy with disregard for emergencies, then your staff should have to adhere to it as well. Completely unprofessional, I told them to cancel all my future appointments and that I will not be returning. Very disappointed. read more

I found this place on yelp and sent an email to see if they had any last minute Appointments avaible for Saturday. They got back to me right away and got me in for a blowout and style. When i arrived I was greeted and brought in a few minutes earlier than my apt time. I can't Remember the young ladies name that did my hair but she was awesome and did an amazing job on my hair. I've been coming here regularly since I moved to CT and have never had a poor experience. I had Vanessa my first time coming in and I have stuck with her ever since. I have always had medium length to long hair but after having a baby my hair has been thin and difficult to grow out longer. I decided to go short but was nervous about doing so (I may or may not have cried in the not-so-distant past after cutting my hair too short). She recommended not chopping it all off right away but starting with a safer short length and then going shorter if I wanted. I trusted her judgement and she made me feel comfortable with the decision and at my most recent visit I went with an a-line bob- the shortest I've ever gone and I love it! She has colored my hair before too and has always gotten it right. I go in sometimes just for a wash and blow-out too since she always makes my hair look WAAAAY better than I do (and she's even taken the time to SHOW me how to style my hair in different ways). Everyone is friendly, the salon itself is cute, I like the product lines they use and have really never had a negative experience. I'd highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for a new salon! read more

Overall...I love this salon. My stylist: I loved my stylist. Her name is Alexa and she is a level 2 (which means she's one of the more advanced stylists). She is very receptive and provides good insight. She is gorgeous inside and out. Ambiance: They welcome you with a menu beverage (includes coffee/tea/beer/wine). The staff is super friendly and definitely provide you with that relaxing spa vibe. Price: It depends on your stylist's level but with a level 2 I thought it was pretty decently priced for a salon! I've always settled for disliking hair cuts until I found EPIC Salon a few years ago. Cristina is amazing and I love my hair cut every time. The other stylists are also very friendly and the other clients all seem happy with their visits. They are taking Covid precautions seriously -- they had me call once I arrived to check in (they are restricting how many people can be inside at once), they took my temperature, had me fill out a questionnaire about symptoms and/or travel, and everyone was wearing masks. I'll be candid: I have MAJOR hair anxiety. Having it cut short after chemo and full head radiation hasn't made it easier or less stressful. Called on a Saturday and got a hair appointment for Tuesday evening. I accidentally came half an hour early, but they still were able to get me in almost immediately. I was treated exceptionally well and was offered beverages many different times. But most importantly, my hair has turned out better than I could have hoped. Jay, my stylist, really checked in with me to see what my preference was, but also gave me her input as to what would look best. She really took her time to make sure that everything was perfect before I got out of the chair. I am in love and I will definitely go back here again, and again, and again. I was looking for a place where I could get a haircut since I travel to the area so much. I found EPIC here on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I emailed them when the salon was closed asking if they also cut men's hair. I received a very helpful correspondence telling me about the salon and options for an appointment. I ended up with one of their stylists named Katie who was so good at listening to what I wanted in a cut and also made some great recommendations. I am so pleased with my haircut. Probably the best I have had in years. So great to have a stylist that communicates and is up on the latest techniques. Katie also made the whole first time experience feel like I was a regular. The salon was put together nicely. Easy parking too. I already made my appointment for my next cut. I am from out of town but I am switching to EPIC. Love, love, love this place! I am so grateful that I found Nikki. I was recovering from a botched haircut and a stylist that I had been with for years who ended up over processing my hair. Needless to say, Nikki had a challenge on her hands. She actually talked to me about my goals, listened to what I had to say, and offered suggestions and guidance based on her expertise. I felt cared for. Let's just say that Nikki is a Ninja with her hands. She did a brilliant job, and never once did she go for those clippers to shortcut the process. In total I was with her for an hour so that we could get to know each other and she could ensure that I walked out a happy customer, and boy was I ecstatic when I walked out! Nikki didn't try to oversell her products, actually on the contrary. She told me what she was using and what it was for. At the end, she walked me out without trying to sell me any of it! Now, in the end, I wanted to purchase some product so I asked her to recommend what to purchase for my needs, but it was my choice and that was the best. She was happy to talk with me on the products, and for one of the products she even recommended that I try a trial size before investing in the larger, more expensive size! Oh, and her husband is there by her side supporting her! What an amazing couple. He was equally as friendly and welcoming. As a matter of fact, all of their staff is amazingly welcoming and supportive. Hands down, I found my new stylist! I am excited to continue to grow my relationship with Nikki and her beautiful salon. I am so disappointed and pissed off!! I live in Las Vegas, my daughter lives in CT. For her birthday (the last week in November) I bought her a color/cut at this salon. I called & made an appt. They (supposedly) only had an availability w/a master stylist. Great! My daughter has very long/thick hair. I told them she needed a cut and Balyage color. We wanted a Rose/Gold- Rose/Brown BALYAGE. After she spent hours at the salon...she sent me a picture of her hair. I'm not going to lie..it looked pretty (at the time). But, I immediately noticed that they cut hardly anything of the length and gave her a couple layers in front? really? I paid top dollar for that cut? I could have done that myself! The next thing I noticed was the color. It did not look like the 'balyage technique' at all! BUT...she was happy at the time. Fast forward a few weeks... her hair looks like complete crap!... with absolutely NO Rose color in her hair at all!! (she says it washed out immediately). Right now her hair is nothing but THIN overprocessed blonde highlights (not balyage) that have broken at the root and have created a dry rat's nest! ...and to think that I happily paid over $300 for this disaster!??? I am so livid right now! That's a lot of money for me and would have been so happy to pay that (and more) for a great cut/Balyage color! (including paying for her to further progress her color over the next few months) Never again! read more

The stylist I had been seeing had left so I had to see someone new. When I got there she was extremely rude and I am not sure why! She wouldn't speak to me and was actually speaking with the other stylists clients. When I would chime in and try to get involved in the conversation, she did not care for it... She also told me I was doing my entire haircare routine wrong and she explained the "correct way" with an attitude! I just wanted a simple haircut. ive been back in CT for 5 years now and have had an incredibly hard time trying to find a salon to return to....until now! This place is edgy but not trashy. It has class but it's not pretentious. The staff look amazing and that's how they should look. I mean do you want someone in sweats with grown out snow cone color hair making judgement on what looks good on you? I don't care how talented they may be. No.. you want the stylist that is on point and crushing it when it comes to style. In addition, I personally like a stylist that tells ME what they want to do. A stylist that does whatever you tell them..you do not want.You want someone who will tell you NO if you will look less than awesome. Someone who will literally say "sorry I'm not doing that and here is why". After all it's their name on your head...you are a walking billboard. Anyway I had Jessica and I love her. She is exactly what I need..someone who can look at me and say I know what I want to do to you today..Someone who will keep me current and sassy. I went to Epic for a consultation. When I walked through the door I was shocked when I saw how bright the salon was. I mean BRIGHT. Wear your sunglasses ladies (and gentlemen), and don't forget SPF of about 50 minimum. Looking in the mirror I was horrified at what I saw. Horrified. There are no words to describe the self esteem dive it was. Just no words . THe girls are beautiful, but they were HEAVILY made-up. They don't want to see what I saw. I made the terrible mistake of having my hair cut here. My regular stylist was booked so I decided to give this place a try-HUGE mistake. I showed the stylist a picture of the cut I wanted and told her a minimum of 3 times, I want my hair cut like this pointing to the picture. Guess what- MY HAIR LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE CUT I REQUESTED- NOTHING! Not to mention that I have long stray hairs hanging where it's been cut shorter. Do yourself a favor- DONT GO HERE! She was so good at listening to my many detailed demands, asking questions, and converting everything we talked about into a gorgeous style that suits me and my lifestyle. I also think she is extremely affordable considering that I have had haircuts of the same caliber (or worse) for WAY more $ in Boston, Paris, NYC, and Austin. I booked with Jenna for my appt because she was listed as a "master level" stylist.
