I've had pleasant experiences at this location in the past but more recently it's felt kind of weird. It's becoming like a hang out spot for kids after school, and it's not the experience you expect when shopping for high end beauty products. Elizabeth, the beauty consultant, was an angel! She helped me color match multiple foundations with the Dior face and body, the pat mcgrath foundation , and Dior concealer. Elizabeth helped me matched the perfect foundation and concealer products for my odd skin color. For reference, my skin tone falls in a light medium tan range with red undertones. Because of her help, I was able to purchase all products and holy grail items. Elizabeth contoured my face and recommended me skincare products on a budget, and this woman knows her shih!! I've been to this Sephora location a few times but it was my first time getting a full custom makeover this weekend. I checked in with one of the staff members and waited around for a bit before I was seated for my appointment. The store was extremely busy and they had overbooked. My makeup artist was Lola who helped me accomplish a cut crease look I wanted! Super stunning and long lasting throughout the day. Always bad. Dirty testers and a person at the door saying hello is not the level of service you should be getting for luxury makeup. It's impossible to know everything about every product and even harder to ask a 19year old about a moisturizing foundation for fine lines. They answer with a lot of "ummm"'s. Just left this location. I asked for help looking for serums and moisturizer and asked for suggestions. The employee pointed to a wall and walked off. Didn't explain any of the products or give her suggestions. After walking around for 10 mins I just picked up some items and went to check out. This location isn't well stocked. I went in mid day, mid week and there was at least 7 associates standing around talking to each other. The store itself was dirty and dusty. Idk why they can't just wipe down their section every once in awhile instead of circling around. I was searching for a particular skin care product and there was only 1 package left. I never buy the "last one" of anything since I have this feeling everyone tends to open up the packages to smell it test even though you shouldn't. This Sephora is located on the strip in Old Town Pasadena. There are lots of parking lots or structures in area to park. They don't validate, so find a 90 minutes for free lot if you can. Sephora is an one stop shop for all things beauty. You can buy makeup, fragrance, skin care, hair care, tools/brushes, bath/body and nailcare. I am a member of their Sephora Beauty Insider reward, where I earned points for things I purchase. After so many points, you can get free products. Around my birthday, I will get a free gift and I get information on upcoming sales/Vip events. I came in last night to pick up few things. I was lucky enough to have met, Milan (Skin Care Consultant). She was very friendly, approachable and knowlegeable. I had a great time learning about products to purchase and how to use it. She educated me about my skin type, and what type of products would work best on my skin. She demnostrated how to care for my skin properly and recommend skin care regimens. She also determine,which products will improve my skin quality and appearance. Once she realized I was going to purchase over $75, she informed about their PERK facial. This is a 20 minute facial, which is a complimentary with a minimum purchase of $75. You can choose from Face/Lip service or Face/Eye service. They perform the facial on the spot. My friend and I weren't interested in doing the service right away, she told us we can come back later when we were ready When I went to the counter to pay for these items, I asked how I can do this PERK facial on later date. I was told by Manager-Michelle, that "Milan is wrong. If you want this, you have to do it today. This is part of your purchase. If you want to do this facial in the future, you will need to purchase another $75. I will talk to her about it". She was kinda rude about this and really didn't explain why we couldn't come back later. After spending a great deal of money (myself $145, my friend $110) and having a great time at the store. We were both very disappointed with the outcome. This is part of the perk of purchasing a certain amount. Once we finished purchase our items, we went to talk to Milan about what happened, Michelle was there telling her that "you shouldn't tell customers about coming back. you can't do it". I really thought it was really tacky and unprofessional. As management, your job is to make your customers happy,which Milan did. You should back up your employee and not belittled them in front of customers. I think she should really re-train herself to be more customer/employee friendly. As any high end store, I would suggest that you try to keep a book for your customer for situation like this, mark down the service they did not get so they can come back later to perform it. It is not that hard and it will make your customer happy and loyal. After all the drama, my friend and I decided to get the facial done. Milan was there again to service us. The Perk facial was like a mini dermabrasion, it did not hurt and I left the store with glowing/dewy skin. I was super happy with the excellent service I received from Milan. I would highly recommend her for your skin care questions. Thanks Sephora for having such a great employee. She was beyond awesome. The only reason you did not get a 5 star from me is because of your manager-Michelle. After we decided to do the facial, she seems annonyed that we changed our mind. she said "we have to do the transaction over since I didn't mark you". What is she talking about? It is not like you can come back later after today to perform this facial. Unless she needs to mark me because you can come back later. In any case, What the hell is wrong with this girl? Has she ever heard of customer service. How is she a manager? Michelle is terrible with customers, she should not be on the floor to assist customers. Most people ask for managers to resolve their concerns, she is causing problems. She makes me not want to come back to this store with her non sense. She needs customer service retraining ASAP! My friend and I were both annonyed with her lack of flexibility and inability to be friendly/professional to her customers. As a makeup geek, I swatch everything on my wrists. I do it the sanitary way with disposable wands and sanitizers. I'm not allergic to any makeup, but I'd leave the store sometimes with rashy, irritated arms. NOW, I know why. I saw a customer (who looked under the weather) take a smashbox tester lip color and apply the wand directly to her mouth and put the wand back in the tester, and return it to the display. If that wasn't appalling enough, I brought this to the manager's attention, telling her what the customer had done and that she had contaminated the entire tester. The manager made a disgusted face and picked it up, making me think she was going to dispose of it. Instead, she waited until I turned around to put it RIGHT BACK ON THE SHELF! I couldnt believe my eyes. You just put everyone's health at risk! I was so disgusted! I still am! I would be understanding if she didn't notice the customer doing this but I BROUGHT IT TO HER ATTENTION! and she made a conscious decision to put it back on the tester display to infect and contaminate every customer after! This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and plain indecent. It shows a blatant disrespect for your customers. I don't trust this store anymore, because the manager was trying to fool me into thinking she was correcting the situation. I was lied to. You've broken my trust and lost my business. I will also be letting everyone I know about this and advise them to stay away from your dirty store. I have notified your corporate office of the situation and will be seeing a doctor to confirm my skin irritation is from YOUR malpractices. I'd give less than one star if I could. Not happy with the shopping experience at all. When I walked in the greeter ignored me and greeted the person behind me, then I circled the store like 5 times looking for something and NONE of the sales people spoke to me at all or offered to help. I stopped by on my way home from the gym and I guess because of how I look they just decided I wasn't worth the time of day. When finally I stopped near one of them she asked me a question (not offering to help, mind you. Just asked if I was there for in-store pickup which I wasn't) and didn't even look up from her phone to ask. Really gross! I love Sephora, and I just wanna give a huge shout out to the staff here who is always punctual and helpful and will never miss an opportunity to teach you how to make your brows on fleek haha. The store itself isn't the most organized nor the cleanest, however, the service here always makes up for that. If I can't find that cleanser I've been searching the whole store for, the employees here make sure that I leave with it. I can spend hours on end in this store, for no apparent reason. Not even to buy anything (okay, okay, maybe I lie...) I've done a couple of classes at this location and have had my makeup done here twice, on each occasion, they have done an exceptional job. This Sephora has been my favorite location by far. I live between 3-4 stand alone Sephora stores and this one is one of the further ones for me and I still make the drive because the customer service is superb. Parking is hard to find of course, even mid week in the morning to afternoons. I came on a Monday morning and it was still very busy. However I still was helped immediately and I love that they inform me of they're products and freely give recommendations when they notice you are looking a little lost. Most of the time they are fully stocked and I go for items that are hot sellers usually and every time I've been here they never let me leave disappointed. (: Custom makeovers for Sephora VIBs and the artists are very nice and friendly. I had no time, but one of the associates saw how much stuff I was getting and offered a mini makeover. Totally wish I could take her up on her offer, but I had somewhere to be ASAP that day. I'll definitely be continuing to drive the distance for the service here, amazing. read more

Originally wasn't going to write this review but in the end I felt that the service was so rude that I needed to voice my opinion. Last week I had bought what I thought was a brand new face serum at another location, only to find out once I got home that a decent amount of product was already missing from the vial. I immediately put the bottle back in the original packaging so it wouldn't look like I had used the product myself in an attempt to cheat Sephora. I went in today and checked the same product on their shelf and noticed that I indeed had been given less product mine for some reason. I went to the register and explained the situation to the cashier. He instantly gave me a judgmental look and proceeded to interrogate me. He said "well looks the same to me".. which it really didn't.. and if I was paying so much money for a face product I really deserve to own a brand new bottle with the full amount! I then felt like I was a suspect for stealing. He started to smell the pump head to see if I had used the product myself, and asked me "are you SURE you didn't use this?" "you're SURE you didn't pump this?" I kept insisting that I had only bought it a week ago to try and convince him that I couldn't use so much product within one week. He then tested the pump and said in an accusatory tone that "well this has definitely been pumped before". I suggested that maybe I was accidentally given a tester to which he snapped "NO, we throw away all of our tester boxes." He eventually said "Well this will just go to waste" to try to make me feel guilty as he processed my request for a brand new bottle. I didn't really realize it until I got home but I couldn't believe how rude the associate was. To insinuate that I was trying to cheat Sephora out of a brand new bottle of product is ridiculous. I took the time to be honest and go to the register to explain my situation and instead was accused and judged. This is not how customer service should work, associates should happily process a refund or exchange with no retaliation given it's within their terms. Sephora always tells you that you can refund a product even if it's fully opened and you tried it and did not like it! I guess not and they'll just try to judge you for doing so. I hope management reads this review and retrains their staff to treat their customers with respect when dealing with these scenarios. No honest customer should be treated like a thief like this. read more

I have to say this is one of my favorite Sephora's. Most of the girls here are extremely nice and willing to go out of their way to help you. I have gotten my makeup done a few times with Eden! She is amazing! I highly recommend her. There is also an older Latina lady who I believe is about to retire and works part time, trust me this lady knows her shades and doesn't need a computer to help her find a shade for you. She's on point! Takes a look a look at you and gets the right shade. No one there could find my right shade. Store wise, they are always stocked, which not all Sephora's are. read more

I went to this sephora and got some samples of foundation. So I went to ask this associate who was cleaning make up brushes if she could give me samples of (2) foundation. She asked me to give her a minute to finish what she was doing and so I did. Minutes later she gave me my samples. When I opened the sample tube there was barely anything in it. Not even enough to cover a small portion of my face. I've been to other sephora and have asked them for samples and they would always fill the tube but this lady was so stingy! I always ask for a sample of foundation because I don't want to go through the process of returning it just in case I don't like it. I think she got upset that I asked her while she was cleaning make up brushes. Location wise... Very inconvenient! Always impeccable. It's been two years since my last review so I decided it was time for an update. This is my go-to Sephora location and, although they are generally very busy, I always feel cared for. I get my makeup done for something every couple of months and the artists are always great. I've also been to several of their Sunday morning classes and increased my skills with their expert coaching. All in all, I highly recommend this store and I'll be Sephora customer for as long as they exist. read more

Always packed! This location has a pretty steady stream of customers coming in and out. I don't believe I've ever seen it slow, even on weekdays. I've also noticed here the sample and tester displays are often dirty, broken or gone. It's pretty rare that I find a clean tester that I can actually feel comfortable using. I usually like to try a product out before I purchase and here at times it has been difficult. My suggestion is to spend a little more time on maintaining the appearance of the displays and keeping them properly stocked. As Sephora knows appearances and looks mean something. She not only helped me get my gift, but also hooked it up with tons of samples! Instead of just tossing it in my bag, she carefully explained what each sample was for. =PRODUCTS= Every Sephora I've been to has been wonderful. They're full of products that range in prices from super cheap (sale items) to higher end pricey items. You'll find things from beautify tools to make up to skin care items in very popular brands and even their own Sephora brand. There are walls lined with aromatic fragrances for women as well as men's cologne. If you ask, they may give you a small sample of perfume that you'd like to try as well. If you know someone who love perfume/cologne, there are even perfume gift packs filled with small bottles...perfect for birthdays or holidays. The same thing goes for make up. Looking for gifts for a special lady/gentleman in your life? Sephora is full of gift sets for people! Don't like the gift sets? Go ahead and just pick up a few separate items and pack them together for a specialized gift! Need help putting together something good? The pros there are always very helpful! They give you great tips based on what your skin type is and what you like. They're usually very friendly (based on all the times I've been there). Sometimes, they'll even help you out with a little make over. =P But of course YOU don't need one because you're beautiful as is! If you shop at Sephora often, make sure you sign for Beauty Insider. You get points for everything you purchase and can get great gifts for those points. Lenise asked a variety of questions regarding my skin, and she was super accurate when it came to finding my shade! Pretty busy, but most Sephora's are right? I stop in often as my boyfriend and I like to go on neighborhood walks and it's nice to stroll down Colorado to dip in and out of stores. I'm sure he's sick of coming in here with me as I dilly dally around tossing crap in my hair, applying lip gloss, hand cream and trying on perfume but I try to do it as quickly as possible ;) I can't think of a time this location has not had something on hand I've come in for. Check out can have a lengthy line at times but they are also now ringing people up on mobile devices so you don't have to wait for a cashier which helps. I'm VIB and who doesn't love free samples and birthday gifts. I wouldn't say I'm 100% loyal to Sephora but I'd definitely choose them over department stores or Ulta (which I've gone to out of convenience when a Sephora isn't nearby) due to the wide variety of products under one roof, customer service professionals and rewards program. read more

Usually, one can expect to be hounded with "do you need any help / what are you looking for / what can I do for you," but here: no one approached me. And that was fine, because I was in a browsing mode and not a full-on power shop. But I know that if I was looking for something in particular, I might have been bothered that not even one person said anything (including hello).
