I stopped in looking for a wig and found this beauty supply store to be a little different from the average one. They carry a wide variety of products, especially for hair care, so it's convenient if you need to pick up a little bit of everything in one stop. They have wigs, hair color, styling tools, press on nails, beauty accessories, and more. The wig selection was actually pretty good, with options ranging from around $20 to well over $200, so there are choices for different budgets. The associate who helped me was friendly and genuinely tried to assist, although there seemed to be some confusion about the store policy that limits customers to trying on three wigs at a time. Since I don't normally wear wigs, narrowing down my options in just three try ons made the process a bit challenging. The only downside for me was that the store felt a little more cluttered and less organized than I expected from a long established business. That said, it's still a convenient neighborhood beauty supply with a solid selection, and it's a good place to stop when you need hair products or beauty essentials close to home. read more

Been wanting to come for awhile and finally got the chance. The lady in the front was super nice and so sweet. She was also very helpful and patient as i looked around i recommend coming here if you live by or happen to be around! read more

The woman and her son are super nice and always asking me how I am when I walk in! I feel so welcomed every time I visit!

Last week June 1st I bought Boho Locs from this place and took it to the stylist to have it crocheted in. After a few days in the caribbean I realized the hair was poor quality. The locs stuck to each other , got fuzzy, and generally looked horrible! The hair plus the service cost me $400 and now I have to take it out! Buyer beware! Signed, Very unhappy customer. read more

This place is a like a little hidden gem. Jenny is so sweet and helpful. No wonder this place has been in business for 30 years. Lots of great deals and affordable options. I was impressed and will be coming back. read more

Lake beauty supply store is a great option for something in town and lots of product on the walls. The only drawback I find is while I know it's for security. All the hair extensions are behind the register with a hard location to see pricing. Otherwise I'm still happy with the products and items available. read more

So friendly! I was in and out because of his great customer service. Helped me pick what I needed. They have everything! read more

Very nice owner. Had exactly wheat I needed and a great selection. Will definitely return.

This store is like TikTok shop in real life. They have every hair care product and accessory. The prices are super affordable, and the owners are the sweetest couple. I love this place!! read more

I was hesitant to enter the business at first. It's all chained & bars up, & extremely small location. It's not set up for selling wigs (is what I was looking for). However, the service was friendly excellent. There were a wide range of wigs to select from & reasonably priced. Their beauty supplies are endless. And everyone that came in while I was there, found what they were looking for. There was a steady flow of customers and they appeared to be repeat customers. I will be returning. read more

This is my go to Beaty Supply store. The customer service is excellent and the store is always well stocked!

We were hesitant after seeing other reviews but we had an amazing experience. When walking up, they were about to close for a break, however they let us come in otherwise. The women was super helpful and personable. We loved their selection and found exactly what we came for and more. We will definitely be back read more

Every time I've been in here I'm able to find what I need! The customer service is great and the prices are great here. The owner is kind and have me a discount for being enrolled in cosmo school. This is a great place for supplies especially for women of color. read more

I hadn't been to this store in a long time. There is a different owner since last time I've been there. I was looking for purple ombré tiki curl hair. There was only one pack when I first went and the owner was kind enough to order me 10 packs before my hair appt. I had gone to a couple other places and they wouldn't order it for me. It will be my first choice when looking for purple hair read more

I went here yesterday and not only do they have a nice selection of hair, wigs, and other beauty products but the prices are very reasonable. I was immediately met with the kindest greetings from the entrance to the check out counter. They were super sweet and helpful! read more

They were professional, fast, and very kind to my child. Beautiful work. Lovely little shop and very convenient location.

I love this nail shop. I've been to nail salon that are pretty and flashy but do horribly nail but this place isn't that. It looks nice and simply on the inside but no matter who you get they all do beautiful nails. When I lived in Arcadia this was my spot to go to. I was never disappointed anytime I went and the movies that they play are actually interesting funny enough. I love their acrylic sets but as far as pedicure goes the only one remark I can say about it is that their white pedicure does not stay white for long. Don't get me wrong I know all white polish fades to a tan grey color after a while but I've had pedicure that lasted longer then theirs. read more

Surprised by the poor reviews here. What I can comment on is my one experience here. Despite not having what I needed (turns out it's an item no longer manufactured), the lady who helped me was extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. Without question, I'll return if I ever again need something, and support small/local. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Just went in there and spent $60 for product. The owner was rude and refused to acknowledge me TWICE. I know this because I thought maybe he didn't hear me the first time but the second time he BLATANTLY ignored me. I kept myself nice and left with my items. How are you going to be in the business to sell to a demographic of people that you don't even like?! I don't HAVE to purchase things here. After years of coming here I'm done. I'll take my dollar elsewhere and for cheaper. I will never be coming back read more

I went in looking for hair extensions for my wedding but knew absolutely nothing about what I was looking for. The woman who was at the register talked to me about the different types of extensions and I went with the clip-ons. She then brought out about 7-8 different types of extensions for me to look at, and we narrowed it down to one. I expected to pay what I did for a set of 100% human hair ($180). They were an exact match to my hair! Thank you to the woman who helped me! My 5-rating is based on the woman's patience with me, help, and guidance around what I was looking for and her recommendation for a first-time buyer. It can be overwhelming when you walk in, but they had what I needed and the help was provided. Thank you. read more

The best thing about this place is the adorable sales clerk who is more than friendly and kind. The second best thing about this place are the enormous supply of product they carry. However, the worst thing about this place of business is the owner, Mr. Moon I went in to buy some product and to thoughtfully request an exchange for some earrings I purchased there. I buy all of my hoop earrings there as they are cheap and attractive to wear. I explained to the young clerk who is sweet as pie that one of the hoops did not clip. I asked if a simple exchange was possible. She then went to Mr. Moon who sent her back indicating that the hoops did not close properly. I continued to show her how they were faulty and then asked if I could speak to him personally. Given the fact that there were customers there and I did not want to make a scene I took him to a remote part of the store to explain the dilemma and demonstrate how the earrings were faulty. He became indignant stated he didn't want my business and then in anger proceeded to throw the earrings towards me and at the counter. I am an excellent customer. Last time I checked I don't steal, my face is not on a wanted sign or video stealing wigs. I'm not indignant. I come in monthly to buy product. Even my BF who isnt even Black now comes there to buy product for his hair. I nor anyone else deserves that level of disrespect. Especially if my money l, persona and intentions are good. I come here for convenience, but will happily drive to Crenshaw and deal with other beauty supply companies. Or better yet order from Amazon. I hope other customers do not experience this level of disrespect. read more

Racist Asian owner (Chinese) most likely who treated me like I was nothing and very aggressively. I was trying on some wigs and didn't know there was a limit. He held at me and cursed me. Worst experience ever. I will never ever land foot in this store . This experience was about 2 years ago. read more

I went in today (Sunday) and had amazing help. I'm a white mom of a Black son with 4c hair. I had read the reviews and wanted to make sure that when we went in, we were helped by someone who understood his hair. I have bought all the "stuff" recommended by friends but they do not have 4c hair. The lovely woman that helped us was amazing. I just finished doing my son's hair and he's thrilled. He wants to grow it out to a mini-Afro and she helped us with everything you need without the "ouch" factor. read more

Let's start with the parking situation; it is difficult to navigate, for sure. If you go to the store in the morning or early afternoon you should be fine as more parking is available behind the store. The selection is limited but they have the most popular products one might be looking for. Management/ownership is atrocious. Clearly, someone needs to do their homework on how to run a successful business in a culturally/economically diverse community. That being said, I have been pleased with the assistance of Margaret, an associate working at the store. I have found her to be pleasant, knowledgeable and a little querky. :-) She is the only reason I frequent this business-certainly not because of the skulking guy wandering around behind patrons or the counter. I do not spend my money at establishments that refuse to provide quality customer service. Thank goodness management had the good sense to hire and retain, Margaret. She deserves a raise! Bottom line: it is very difficult to find a decent beauty supply store in Pasadena. Better stores can be found at several locations in Los Angeles. read more

This beauty supply is fantastic!! I couldn't even enter the door before the owner opened the door for me, excited and super charismatic! EUGENE is so friendly and outgoing, lol, and Jennie is super sweet! THEY ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, so that I would disregard any old reviews. I was baffled when I read other reviews. I realized they are all from years ago! My experience here was ELITE!! When you enter, they accommodate you the entire time you are in this beauty supply! They are fantastic people, and they are knowledgeable about current hairstyles and trends. I got terrific advice on the hair for my BoHo braids that wouldn't tangle. They even gave me a discount on the hair because they're good people, lol. I've been to several places, and the cost of supplies here is the cheapest I have ever encountered for the needed products. Their prices are competitive, their customer service is impressive, and the energy inside the beauty supply is excellent. I love coming here, and I'm always able to get everything I need while being respected, and Eugene answers all of my questions about hair and hair products! I love Pasadena beauty supply, and I choose it over every other location solely based on the hospitality here. I always feel like I'm getting a GREAT deal and that the owners appreciate me as a customer! Thank you, Eugene, you are AWESOME. I will be back 100000 times! read more

Ummmmm!!! This place is a joke. Hair isn't organized. The owner had no idea about any brands, hair types, or styles. Maybe it's because I'm used to New York beauty supply stores but I can't see myself ever coming here. Everything is overpriced and the brands were ones I've never ever heard of. Where's the outre? Milky Way? Free tress? All they had was some Zury and kanelolan braiding hair and rasta Africa braid. So I guess if you want box braids or Marley twist you'll be ok going here. But I'd recommend going online and getting the hair for $3.99 instead of $7.99. Smh! read more

No. Just no. Not only is the attendant RUDE, but she basically made me clean up after a display she knocked down. Overpriced, terrible service, never coming here again! read more

Overall this place is decent. The selection of products and extensions gives a nice variety. Customer Service: I don't think I have ever encountered the owner of this place, but I do agree customer service is spotty. The first time I went here I was completely turned off by the level of customer service and a very opinionated worker. My most recent experience was much better. There were only a few people in the store and the attendant asked me at least 3 times if she could help me as I passed her in the aisles. I finally asked her help to locate something and she immediately knew where to direct me. The Selection: I normally go on a 4 store shopping spree when I'm in this area (Toto Beauty in Altadena, Two Boys Supply, the store next to it, and this one) This store has the cheapest curlers ($0.89 for a pack of perm rods) and has brands like Lutrasilk that I could not find anywhere else. This store also carries a wide variety of ponytail and bun attachments, lots of plastic wigs and some nice accessories. Parking (OMG): Now, the worst part of coming here is the parking. It is a crapshoot to get a spot and I always hold my breath waiting for my car to be hit by a bad parker! Getting in and out of the lot is tight so be careful. The store is located off Lake which is always super busy but also it is in the back of a chicken place which is apparently a local favorite. Best advice, take your time, drive slow and don't take too long in the store! read more

They have great wigs to get you through real life and, if you're an actor, amazing character wigs for sketch comedy, plays, auditions, short films, etc. Staff is very chill but will also hunt down inventory for you on the shelves. They will actually strike up conversations with you. Some of the regulars are like old friends. It's like how going to a mom-and-pop country store used to be. Affordable pricing. They've also added some pricier human wigs. Some stuff is behind the counter so never hesitate to ask. I've never had bad customer service. Taking off half a star because I once bought some stupid weave hair there. I shoulda known it wasn't that great based on the price. At least it was on sale. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Love that they have raw shea butter and Jamacian black castor oil. They also have a lot of earrings. The parking is fine if you know how to back your car out of a driveway. So don't freak out. (You might the first time, but it's not as bad as people make it sound.) They also have generous hours of operation. Down to earth staff, amazing wig work, great prices. read more

They have so many different colors, lengths, and prices depending on what you want. Thank you Pasadena Beauty Supply for being so amazing!! The customer service at this location is EXTREMELY poor. The girls are so rude, hair is overpriced, and the store is unorganized.

I walked in the store did not get an acknowledgment of a hello or good morning or anything when I try to get service from the owner he looked at me like I had crap on my face I let him know that he's sold me the defective bag of hair that I spent over $150 on and he became rude and disrespectful and told me oh well didn't even want to listen to my concerns on my questions and told me to leave the store I will never go back there and I've been going there for years and I spent a lot of money there let's not even hear me out and be so disrespectful and rude I'm done he should never work there Margaret is a great employee but the rest of them are horrible read more

I walked in and received not a "welcome", "hello", or "hi". I excused it thinking the woman behind the counter didn't see me, but I was the only person in the store so... Anyway, I got to the counter and surely expected some form of greeting. The same woman SILENTLY took my things and rang them up and told me my total. She barely even looked at me. It was at this point that I had decided I was not going to return to this business. Not only are the items overpriced, their customer service is egregious. Old school and junky but they got what I want for a quick in and out...it's not a place to linger...small and packed but I do go up and down the aisles checking stuff out...they have every black hair care product/tool out there and being the product junky that I am, I have to look!
