Wasted my time going here. Came at 9:45 am and the shop was still closed. All doors locked and a girl far away styling her own hair having the salon to herself. She did not help and ignored me. The hours clearly state it's open at 9am so either this is a horrible employer or the hours need updated read more

Bella Sol The Salon - Prom 2019! - Hair Salons Near Me - Pasadena, California

I've been airbrush tanning for about 8 years and this has been the best place I have ever found. I've tried places in Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and Bella Sol does a superior job. Okay, its probably all due to Candy, who is super friendly and personable (always a plus when you have to strip down for a tan). But its the most even tan I have ever had. She takes the time to make sure she dries the areas that were just sprayed to ensure an even tan. The only con is the parking lot. Its located behind the location (I turn into the Tuesday Morning parking lot and drive to the alley behind to get to the lot.). The lot is small and I've always gotten a spot but on a couple of occasions its been the last spot. Will definitely continue going here. read more

This review is long over due, but if you're new to the salon or in need of a great stylist, I highly recommend Joan! She's super down to earth, and makes you feel at home each visit. There's never a dull moment and it's never awkward with her. I've been going to her for years and it's safe to say that I will be returning! Joan takes great pride in her work, and it's clear that she knows what she's doing. I'm quite hard to please and quite frankly, I come in with different ideas each time. Joan has exceeded my expectations whether it's a simple layered cut, to straight across bangs, or even my long bob; I love everything she's done to my hair. Personally, I like to experiment with color, and Joan is simply the best! Anything from ombré, to highlights, to balayage, she's done on me, and wow. Most recently, I decided to go purple, and you cannot believe how many compliments I've gotten on my hair. The color looks different in every lighting, and it's a color I wish you all could see in person to appreciate, the dimensions she created is amazing. Also, how could you not love the salon's massaging chairs, iPad bar and beautiful décor. read more

This is my 3rd visit to this beautiful salon. Our hairdresser is TINA she is a color expert!!! She fixed a bathroom mixture disaster for my daughter and today blew me away with her ability to help me decide on a color that vest suits me. I am ecstatic with the results...I feel 10 years younger and have TINA to thank. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER . THANK YOU TINA read more

Bella Sol is an incredible salon. The staff and owner are friendly and very experienced. They definitely know how to make you feel like family. They have never failed to provide quality service. The salon is very reasonably priced and offers a variety of services. All of their products are of high quality and the salon itself is beautiful and in a prime location. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend. You won't regret giving this salon a try. read more

Luscine will be the only person to touch my hair for the rest of my life. Going blonde is a difficult process and she delivered fantastic results on my thick naturally dark hair. I've been to many different salons in the last 10 years and she was the first to get it really right. She only works on one person at a time. She's kind and makes the day a pleasure. I'm so happy with my new hair! read more

I'll first start by saying I have not stepped inside a salon in 3 years (aside from a blow out only salon). I was reluctant, but I knew it needed to happen. I ended up purchasing something at a silent auction where the owner donated an awesome basket which had so many products plus $100 to Bella Sol. I looked up the salon and it had amazing reviews, so I knew this was the place to go to get my first haircut in forever. I made an appointment with Tina. I showed up, super nervous, parking in the free lot in the back and waited. Tina was SO sweet and really helped calm my nerves. She gave me a great cut and color. We chatted about her family (shes Armenian) and also hair upkeep. I promised I wouldn't wait that long ever again. I'll most definitely be back to the salon and to see Tina soon. My hair has felt so much healthier since going there and not box dyeing my hair. Th salon itself is very clean and nice, so glad I came across Bella Sol! read more

LURDES IS GOD'S GIFT TO PEOPLE IN NEED OF A TAN!! Let me start off by saying I was a little nervous. I wanted to get a spray tan because I was going to Mexico and didn't want to look so white, but didn't want to look orange either . I got a spray tan a few months ago at another studio and wasn't exactly thrilled with the suuuper dark, sloppy orangish results :( I found Lurdes via yelp and I couldn't be more happy with my decision! I got a spray tan from Lurdes last night and couldn't wait to post this!!!!! She is amazing, a true artist who takes pride in her work. Suuper friendly, very thorough and makes you feel super comfortable! Not to mention she is absolutely gorgeous! Her shop is adorably decorated and very very clean. Do yourself a favor and check her out if you're ever in need of a tan! read more

I'm absolutely in love with This Salon! I'm not from this area... Just moved here recently. And finding a stylist was nearly impossible! I went to another salon in the Monrovia area and spent over $400 with just 2 visits.... Let me explain. I have blonde hair. Now my fellow blondes will know that it takes a very special and talented stylist to mix and implement the varieties of "blonde".... With that being said, I will not bash another stylist. I know what it's like to hustle and I won't attempt to take away anyone's income. That particular stylist just couldn't do what I wanted her to do. BUT Tina at Bella Sol is hands down a kick ass stylist that KNOWS how to implement BLONDE!!! She KNEW exactly what I wanted. Thank you Tina!!!! You are AMAZING read more

UPDATE from 3 to 4 stars: Within hours of posting the review below I got a message from the owner who was very apologetic about my experience and said she talked to the whole staff about their hairspray usage and how to be more open with clients about what type of hold they may want. She even offered a refund which wasn't necessary! Very prompt and responsive customer service. Original review: I called about 9:30a for a day-of early afternoon styling and they got me in, so that was good! My stylist, Crystal, was sweet and nice. I didn't come in with a specific style, but had some ideas. She executed for the most part, but one side of my head was hairsprayed to death :( My friend had to do some last-minute fixing after I got home. read more

JOAN IS THE BEST! Being a stylist myself I have to say my expectations are pretty high, Joan Ao does never disappoint, she's been cutting and styling my hair for years now, she even style my hair and did my make up for my wedding a couple of years ago, the salon is always very neat and the service is top notch! Would always recommend this place to anyone who wants to get pampered and at the same time end up with a fresh new look. Parking in the back makes the experience even better! read more

Joan is an amazing stylist! My hair was a mess when I came in. By the time I left, I look so great that my patients at my clinic could not stop complimenting me. I had no idea a nice haircut will get you noticed. I obviously have been going to the wrong stylist all these years. If you want an amazing and professional haircut, Joan is the one you MUST see. She always looks classy and impeccable! When she is done with you, you will too! read more

The tanning was good! I've never tanned ever before first time ever. It was one heck of a great experience. I gotta admit I was a bit scared at first but just dove right to it. The staff instructed me how to put the goggles on and how to operate the machine correctly within minutes I was out and ready to start my day! read more

I was somewhat I dissatisfied with the services received at this salon. This place looks clean but I'm not to sure about hygiene. For example, while you are being sprayed, you stand on a used black towel. The salon doesn't use Spray Tanning Sandals or tacky paper to stand on. They didn't have a place to keep your personal items while you are being sprayed. It's all in one room and when they spray the chemicals are airborne. I told the person that I didn't want my face sprayed. She insisted that even if she sprayed my neck the chemicals wouldn't get sprayed on my face yet I showered her that my jaw and chin were sprayed . I told her that my face is sensitive and she assured me that her face was sensitive also and that when her face gets sprayed she's fine. I wish they offered spray tanning masks. I told her that I didn't want my hands sprayed and asked for disposable gloves. She said that they didn't have any. She assure me that the paint wouldn't go on my hands because when she uses the spray gun paint doesn't go on her hands. I thought that was odd. I told her to ask the hair stylist if she could borrow a pair of gloves. I wore them and found that even though she didn't directly spray my hands chemicals still landed on gloves. I asked for disposables underwear but they only had razor small bikini underwear. They didn't offer hairnets either. I like to get spray tans but I also like to keeping solutions off certain parts of my body and I like protecting my hair. This place is conveniently located if you're in the south PASADENA area but I wouldn't recommend it as the place to go unless it was an emergency!!! read more

I have tried many salons and none have impressed me the way Bella Sol has. Luxurious salon at an affordable price, and its in my neighborhood. In particular, Crystal G. is a talented Hair Stylist/Make up Artist. I don't trust anyone with my hair, I have curly, unruly hair. She gives me great advice on how to care for my type of hair and always does a fantastic job styling it. I go to crystal for any and every occasion. I love that she always knows the look I am going for whether its a soft, day time look or a dramatic night time make up job. When I am unsure of the look I am going for, I completely trust her judgment to create a personalized look for me. Professional, friendly, and in tune with what is the modern look, I highly recommend Crystal to everyone looking to visit Bella Sol. read more

Saw Joan once for a cut and color, and it was okay. Went back a 2nd time hoping to get a bit closer to what I wanted, but when I arrive she acted like she was meeting me for the first time. She mistakenly didn't book enough time for our appointment (because she didn't look back at my prior service), and somehow that was my fault. Who doesn't look at their notes to remember a client and their prior service? She acted irritated and rushed, saying "Let's just do this quick." Didn't inspire a lot of confidence in her or the job she was about to do, so I left and won't be returning. Many better options in the area. read more

This place is Great! Reasonable prices and what rocked the most was the customer service! Kandy made me feel so comfortable I shared way more of my personal life than I should have, but I was excited! I did the Mystic booth and was done in less than 5 minutes! No streaking, you can customize smell and color, it's awesome! I strongly recommend!! Will definitely go back. read more

Bella Sol The Salon - Beautiful, clean place!! Thanks Kandy - Hair Salons Near Me - Pasadena, California

This review is partly for the salon, and party for my stylist, Joan. She had recently moved from another salon to this place. The move is an upgrade for sure, as this salon has a more elegant feel than the other one. There is always good energetic music in the background that is not too loud so you can actually have a conversation with your stylist. The staff seems very happy every time I come in. The shampoo chairs are also massaging, and the stations themselves seem to be very well designed with a clean and minimalist feel. Best of all, free parking in the back of the salon! Joan is an awesome stylist for men (although I know she does everything else too). She is very thorough with her work and it always turns out amazing for me. She listens to what I want and gives great input. She also explains what she is doing while styling my hair so that I can do it at home. Every time she is done with my hair I feel like a new person! Thanks Joan! read more

I had been looking for a very long time to find a great salon for spray tans. All the experiences I have had ended up badly, giving me an orange tint. I found Bella Sol and the spray tan I received from Lurdes Medina was the best I have ever gotten! Bella Sol is a clean, beautiful salon with a super friendly staff. I highly recommend going there for any spray tanning needs! read more

I initially found this salon after needing to correct my tan from another salon that left me with white blotchy spots on my back and chest. They were helpful and told me how to correct my tan. I am happy I found Bella sol. Been coming here for years!!!! Love it, a very beautiful and clean salon. Great monthly prices and great tan. All the staff is very informed on how to achieve a great tan. KANDY is my go-to on how to achieve great color without damaging my skin and how to prolong my tan with the different tanning lotions, which they have a great selection. All beds are stand-up for a better allover tan with no tan lines and its better than a lay down bed. I've tried every Pasadena tanning salon and Bella sol is the best. There is also an amazing salon and they carry Frankie rose cosmetics and Kevin Murphy hair product. Its a one stop shop. Any questions on tanning and Frankie rose cosmetics ask Kandy. Plus she will tell you step by step on how to achieve a healthy tan on sensitive and eczema skin. read more

Tried this salon for spray tanning & KANDY is the BEST!!! She is pleasant, professional & most importantly...the tanning color was naturally bronzed & beautifully applied. The ambiance of Bella Sol is nice with a connecting outside courtyard with fountain, clean & Zen. I will be back & highly recommend KANDY's Services!!!!! read more

Cako is my hair GURU!! I have been a loyal customer of hers for years now, and absolutely adore her. Why is she so amazing...let me list the ways: 1. She REALLY knows what she's doing...I usually have an idea of what I want, but she shapes it into a 'good' idea...i.e. something that would actually look good on me. And always does it in such a nice way, always boosting my mood & my confidence! 2. She is just the sweetest person, and I love talking to her. She always remembers the things we've talked about, checks in on my 'life stuff', and it really feels like catching up with a friend. She's just a very genuine, awesome person!! 3. She takes her time. She never rushes through anything, and you can tell she takes care in everything she does, not making you feel like an appointment wedged in between two others. 4. She makes recommendations for stuff to try next time (different color options, treatments, haircuts), and I love doing different things with my hair, so it's fun to hear her ideas & ponder them until the next visit. And it's never in a pushy way, she's just excited about things that you might be excited to try on your hair. I could go on...but my point is, Cako is great...I 100% recommend her, and now that she's at this beautiful new salon (with actual leather MASSAGE CHAIRS while you get your hair washed...yes, it's amazing), I 110% percent recommend. read more

I love the way Cako does my hair and make up. She knows make up like no-one else, I have been going to her for years, referred so many friends and they love her!! I will follow her wherever she goes. Cako can make anyone look beautiful ! Great with highlights, always precise. On top of that - she is very warm and easy to talk to, always listens to what I want, but still would suggest something that is right for me and would talk me out of something I may regret later. Thank you Cako for making me beautiful for all those special events, I always get compliments! I wish I could know make up on your level, but guess what, even though l have all the same products - it doesn't come out the same ! You are a true artist! read more

Love this place and only come to Cako to get my hair did and cut. I have been trying a ton of salons in the area and and am soo happy I found Cako, she is the best at styling and cutting my hair. She gets it and i love talking to her, and yes the chairs where you get your hair washed are awesome, never experienced anything like it. So if you want a guaranteed great cut /style go to Cako, can't recommend her enough she is my have and sad I didn't find her before. I need to try out her makeup application but im sure its great as she always look awesome! In conclusion, love, love, love this place/Cako :) read more

I have been going to Bella Sol tanning for years now and thought that it was finally time to write a review! The staff is always friendly and polite. I come in the evenings after work and Joseph is always so nice! Today I finally met the manager Candy and she is a doll! It's always nice walking into a place where the staff knows you by name. They are also informative of the products being sold and you can tell that they just aren't trying to sell you the product with the highest price point. I have never had a bad experience at this salon. I know that it's always clean and updated. I've been to tanning salons where you can tell the machines are outdated and look a little too used. I never have to question hygiene at this salon. I have referred friends and clients to Bella Sol since they were on Holly St. and they still continue to visit Bella Sol for their tanning needs and you should too! read more

Amazing mystic spray tans! You don't need an appointment just walk on in. Always a great experience.

Cako is just simply the best. I have been a client of hers for longer then a decade and have never had a complaint. My hair color, cut and style are always on point. On special occasions, Cako glams me up with make up and I'm always in love with what she creates. A true talent with a goal to make her clients walk away smiling and in love with their hair. That has been my experience over all these years with her. She is super friendly, easy to talk to and loves what she does. I have had 2 great spray tan experiences from Kandy. She is the best! I do think the price for a airbrush spray tan is too high. I think a good spray tan these days should not be more that $50.00. If their pricing was more competitive I would tan more often. I know they offer packages but I am not looking to buy 10 tans at a time. I think it would be great if they reevaluated their airbrush tanning pricing structure. Otherwise I love the color and the service so they still deserve 5 stars. read more

Natalie is the one to see for amazing blonde highlights. Very natural looking. In fact, the color matches my childhood blonde (Mom saved a lock of it). I searched for a colorist for a long time before finding Natalie. I tried several of the expensive Beverly Hills salons, the colorists that are written up in Allure magazine, and even Kim Vo (who is terrific, but his salon is such a hassle). So happy I found Natalie, and she does great haircuts, too. This salon has a nice industrial chic vibe and it is such a relief from the Pepto Bismol--pink salon in Old Town that I used to go to. read more

This review is for the WONDERFUL spray tan experience I had with Kandy. I was a complete tanning newbie before coming to Bella Sol and found the place based on its stellar reviews. I could not be more in agreement with all the great things that have already been said about Kandy and her tanning expertise. The service was off to a great start when Kandy greeted me in a warm and friendly way and began asking me what my reasons were for getting a tan, what color I wanted to achieve, my background with tanning etc. She took the time to get to know me, explained the entire process to me, and made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Kandy's professionalism and talent really showed during the tanning session itself. She took me to the tanning room, which was very clean, well-lit, and private. She took her time with every stroke and dried the tanning solution after she applied each stroke in order for the solution to soak in better. I changed my mind between going from light-medium to medium and Kandy happily obliged. I asked her not to spray my face and she did not. She asked if I wanted any areas sprayed a bit darker, and we both decided on doing more color on my legs and arms. Kandy treated me as if I was a friend or regular client, and I was so happy with how everything went. Now, 12+ hours & a shower after the spray tan, I could not be more pleased with the results. The Infinity Sun Airbrushing that they use is of the highest quality. My skin is usually pretty sensitive, but I have had no problems. More importantly, there is no orange tint or streaky lines - the tan looks a completely natural golden-brown, like i just got back from a vacation in the sun! I will most definitely be back for all my future tanning needs. Thank you Kandy and Bella Sol! read more
