Amazing customer service! Came in for a Mother's Day gift and I knew exactly what she wanted - I told them what scents she liked and the staff prepared everything for me so fast. You can ask for your items gift wrapped and they sprayed the box all over in a scent she would like + added skin care samples for her. Back in 2021, I was surprised there was an Aēsop in Pasadena. Three years later, I'm surprised that it's the second biggest-selling store in the United States (after only the Century City store). Who knew Pasadena loved Aēsop so much? On a recent Friday night, the store was bustling, the sinks were busy, and customers inquiring about products. As is usual for Aēsop stores, the staff is friendly and knows the line well. Design-wise, this is still one of the brand's more functional boutiques, but that seems to be fine -- the function is to sell product, and Aēsop Pasadena is doing that quite well. I wish I could make this my home, as it is so comforting and relaxing to the senses just being there. The sales staff are also very enlightening and soothing to speak with, as their products are remarkable and engineered for the senses. Just the memory of being in their store is remembered, as the scents remind me of this experience. I found the product I was looking for to relax and calm my nerves with a roll on ginger flight therapy that comes in a travel size vial. I've known about Aesop for years...the Australian beauty brand was founded in 1987. Recently, it's become more popular than ever. Maybe the pandemic made people want to splurge on soaps and self care. Anyway, they've been opening lots of stores in the LA area, including the new one in Old Town Pasadena. I really liked their hand soap and lotions I've come across at hotels and other businesses. The new store has a serene spa like feel with a wall of bottles (their products), discreetly packaged in amber bottles and jars and testers on the other side, along with a sink where you can wash your hands. The colors are muted and their scents are natural and herbaceous. I like that the packaging and the aesthetic are understated and gender-neutral. They have moisturizers, soaps, scrubs, candles ($110 each & already sold out), toothpaste, room spray, hair care, perfume, deodorant, etc. The lack of large signs makes it somewhat hard to shop there without some guidance. Also, they didn't have prices on anything. If you're curious and don't want to keep asking, check out their website. They even offer complimentary shipping. The products are expensive, more so than Kiehl's and Malin+Goetz. Aesop's packaging is definitely nicer (people even sell the empty bottles on eBay). They obviously care about design. And they're a certified B corporation. The products are vegan. They give you a cloth bag that you can reuse and free samples too. The service was very friendly and helpful. The associates have a passion for the products. The store smells really nice and I love being able to wash my hands with quality liquid soap. They don't have sales except for 1 day a year! This review is 100% for the associates working on Saturday June 5. I remember Nathaniel, Adrian, and another female associate-- to whom I am so sorry that I did not catch her name. My mom and I were looking for 25 favors for a travel themed bridal shower. We came into the store with an idea but once we explained theme, the associates 100% embraced it and made the experience so fun. They suggested lip balms, Blue Chamomile hydrating mist, and Ginger flight therapy rollers. Ultimately we went with lip balm, travel sized hand sanitizer (so relevant to today's travel climate right?), and they threw in a sample face masque. The cherry on top were these gorgeous paper bags with addresses in Paris that were perfect for the overall packaging. The store itself is clean and they do a great job with limiting the customer count inside. I normally purchase my Aēsop products through department stores, but I will be sure to be back here for the service! read more

If you're looking for great apothecary look no further than Aesop! This location has only been open a few months but they are easily one of the best Aesop locations! The service at all Aesop locations is usually amazing but this location really takes it up a notch! Art was great at following up and letting me know when they received a product I had been waiting for! Love the customized service! They are also always so generous with their samples so you can smell and try all their products in store! Some of my favorite products are their hand lotions. With all the hand washing we've been doing lately it's nice to find a luxurious hand lotion that keeps your hands hydrated! I love that they use essential oils for their products and that they are free of chemicals. I really enjoy the look of their minimalist packaging although I do prefer glass over the recycled plastic. My boyfriend and I love Aesop, and went to the store today to get a travel kit. Brian helped us out today, and he was so amazingly kind and knowledgeable of the products. The customer service here really stood out to us, and we really love the products in here. I also bought myself some hand soap and the smell was amazing. Brian allowed us to wash our hands and try both soaps, and had information for both so that I can choose the one that worked best for me. I love Aesop products but I do not recommend the specific store. I went inside the shop twice today to buy three dispensers of their Reverence hand wash. The first time I was waiting in line, another customer jumped in front of me, and the clerk didn't say anything. I continue to wait in line for a while, and the cashiers were very slow, and the purchase was taking longer than I expected, so I put the containers back and decided to come back later. I returned an hour later, went to the shelf, and picked up a box candle, because I've never seen the product. I went to open it and was scolded by an employee for trying to smell the candle. I left. I won't be returning to this store again. read more

You can't smell any of the testers because of Covid but I can touch them. If they sell scented body wash, what's the point of not letting customers smell them, especially if my gf and I were the only people in the store.
