While the store and customer service is fine, I do not suggest getting a Sephora credit card. First, I never received my statement nor credit card because my address was inputted incorrectly. Then, Comenity Capital Bank that issues their Visa card has been less than helpful. I've called 5 times now to get my card reissued and now to simply cancel, and they still have not been able to complete these simple banking transactions. I am beyond frustrated. I dread walking into the Sephora on Colorado. The Sephora associates are not welcoming or helpful, they have soar expressions on their faces and wont assist unless you ask. I spoke to the manager who was very nice as I expressed my experience in Sephora. The greeter did not greet us but greeted the other people who walked in after us ( 3 different groups that entered) I notice everything because I am a woman of color... there should be some sensitivity training I guess! I'm writing this review because one of the employees, Kristin, was so helpful and knowledgeable that I had to publicly acknowledge her amazingness! I wasn't even asking for help when she approached to ask if I needed a basket for all of the items I had in my hand. After she brought the basket to me, she asked if I needed any help finding products. She took the time to answer all of my questions and introduced me to some really amazing products that I've never heard of. WHAT? yes, in 15 minutes she did my foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, fake eyelashes (to help my short asian ugly eyelashes), blush, lipstick, lipgloss, and powder finish.... a little crowd formed by the end, just totally impressed. even though we didn't chit chat THAT much (as we wished) she had a great sense of humor and was so quick, precise, and talented. my photographer and friends were really impressed as well. i'll definitely be back, Sephora... especially at my ugliest days. you will save me. i guarantee it. read more

Visited this location yesterday. It was a slow evening and there were very few customers in the store. In spite of this I was in the store for at least 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the reps. I was looking for a specific lipstick and the shelf was out of stock. After getting tired of not being helped I finally opened their back stock drawer and found the color I needed. I then wandered through the store looking for primers and was finally helped by a really nice gentleman named Myles. Thank you for improving my experience. He helped me with a few samples and was friendly. Checkout was nice since the lady who helped me offered me my Rouge card. I reached Rouge months ago but had never been offered the card (I shopped mostly online but still occasionally went in store). Overall the visit was okay. I expected better service since I am accustomed to the reps being more helpful and assertive. It would have been a poor trip but a few great employees turned it around. You can tell my happiness by my purchases from Sephora and yesterday was a very sad day for me. I understand that by going in the evening of the hellish Black Friday was a horrible time to pick up stuff but c'mon, it was HELLA empty inside. I should have took that as an indication that my trip would be bad. When I usually walk into Sephoras (SF union square, Victoria gardens, Sacramento), the people are usually very friendly and helpful in assisting me in finding what I need...and also recommending samples and such. But... SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Noone greeted my mother and I properly... And since it wa my first time to this location, you could tell I was lost like a puppy. The employees were just walking around chatting with one another while I just wandered around trying to flag them to ask questions. Like playing a game of duck duck goose. When I did manage to find someone, they notified me that they discontinued the perfume I wanted to purchase. Strange, when I was in SF the week before, they had it on the display. Overall, the structure of the store is weird... the people aren't friendly and the selection isn't great. The service at this Sephora is the best out of all the ones in the area. I came during a weekend day and the store was ridiculous busy. All their registers were opened and the line moved very quickly. I think Sephora's products can be a little bit expensive but I love the way the store is set up. It's so organized by brand and there are always samples available for you to help yourself to. I especially like the fact that they have disposable applicators on the side so it's not disgusting to try the mascara or lip gloss. One complaint I have is that they are often times out of certain color or selection. I guess that comes with having a large variety. Another feature I love with when they have the top products in each category on display with all the detailed information shown. I found the Dior Show Mascara by looking at their mascara display and it's now my favorite mascara of all time. I wandered around and looked at a few foundation options. Ever since I got to the ripe old age of 28, my skin hasn't been as nice anymore. I used MAC Studio Fixe before because it has light foundation with powder combined but it wasn't really cutting it anymore. A nice make up person saw me looking around so she came up and asked if she could help me look. She suggested the Dior BB Cream. OMG my skin looks amazing with it on! The price is steep at $56 a tube but it's worth every penny. Make sure you have their rewards point card. You can get plenty of free stuff if you shop with them regularly. Yeah, they gave me the wrong shade of foundation (and to top it off it was pretty crappy and provided no coverage) but that's not the point. They have no control over that, other than to not recommend it. This review is about their craptaular customer service. I came in wanting a change for my foundation and was immediately greeted by an associate. I told her my dilemma and she was suggested I try the Philosophy line. I waited for her to show me the way, but she didn't. She waved me away Told me there was anotehr associate - that I couldn't see - who could help me. I asked her to how me and it was like I just asked her to kick a puppy. Walking 20 feet is apparently a huge faux pas for Sephora employees. New associate is helping me now. As shes applying the powder foundation to my face she brushes it straight into my eyeball. Naturally i go "Ow" and start blinking and rubbed my eye. Her response "I wasn't brushing you hard." Oh H-E-Double Hockey Sticks, no! I informed her that she brushed my eyeball. I get a suspicious look from her and she's like "well what do you want me to do?" i reply with "Don't touch me" Not even an excuse me or a sorry. She calls yet another employee, to help me now. I tell him my needs and he responds with "I don't have anything for you." Really? Then why have i been directed back here? Finally the manager comes up. Apologizes on behalf of the employee who couldn't even show a little bit of humility and apologize herself. And apparently employee number 3 lied. She showed me several more options and was rather polite while doing it. She was nice enough to me that I am willing to give this place 2 stars instead of 1. My best friend likes to wear minimal makeup. I'm always telling her she should put more color on her face and finally she listens and we decide to go to Sephora. She wants to go to the new location in Old Town Pasadena...I'm hesitant, the sales associates at the one in Downtown Disney were snobs and I'm not really feeling like I want to experience that again. I relent and I meet up with her there. There were so many colors and things I can tell my friend was overwhelmed so I ask for someone to help us. Along comes Natalie. She couldn't have been sweeter. She took care of Margaret and really listened to her and did her makeup with muted shades and just made her comfortable and relaxed. She really helped and gave us samples and tips on different items. She is awesome. I even bought a new product I'm really excited about. Natalie made Margaret feel like a new woman. She gave us a lot of tips on the products and how well some of them work and what we can use that is similar but perhaps way more inexpensive. She wasn't pushy about selling the products and let us play around with some of the items. I like this Sephora so much I think I might have to drive all the way to Pasadena for my next makeup fix and maybe have Natalie do my makeup. read more

I'm going to be honest here: I'm getting up there in age, and I can't get away with having a naked face anymore. Enter Sephora! I wasn't actively looking for a foundation, but as Connie C. and I were shopping in Old Town, we went into a frenzy. She was about to buy the Naked2 palette, but as she was at the register, the sales associate gave her a little more info on the differences between the Naked and Naked2 palette; she ended up trading in the second for the first before she paid. Thank goodness! Not that it really much matters because Sephora has an amazing return policy... I was casually talking about my skin and the sales associate pointed out Cover FX for sensitive skin; and I am extremely paranoid about putting foundation on my skin. I got my color match from another MUA, and after listening to my concerns and going over my skin type, she suggested the liquid instead of the powder. Both were tested on my skin, and I fell in love with the foundation. She gave me advice on how to apply it and how to set it before giving me a sample of bareMinerals Ready Foundation. Stopped by today to find a new fragrance and just want to thank the staff member who assisted me. I'm sorry, I forgot her name,but she had cool blue eyeliner on and she was really helpful. I think I sprayed every bottle and even though another staff member kept asking if I needed help, I didn't feel rushed or made to feel uncomfortable. The reward system is great and the little gifts and 500 point perk gifts are even better. Birthday gifts too! This location doesn't have the Laura Mercier 500 point perk gift yet- 2 more weeks! Yay! I appreciate how knowledgeable the staff is because I know a thing or two about the different brands they carry, so it's nice to know they know what they're talking about. This location though highly trafficked is not well stocked on product, I've been in numerous times only to see sparse shelves and abundant employees meandering around trying to look busy. The other problem I find is employees following/monitoring my every move as if they expect that I will slip something into my pocket (tip to employees; if you are going to transparently follow clients try asking to assist them, this works better than peering around corners and alerting other employees through earpieces)This kind of treatment happens to me about 80% of the time I visit this location! So sad, I really love most Sephora stores, as a makeup junkie myself. At this store I feel out of place. The workers talk with each other most of the time and I feel like I'm disturbing them if I bother to ask for help. I did come in with my bf once, and while a very nice lady checked us out at the counter, no one approached us the whole 1 hour something that we were there. I'm sure I've experienced some nice workers there, but too often I'm never approached and feel more like a kid in a china shop, eyed like I was gonna steal something or that I didn't belong. As a store, the usual Sephora stuff, though I feel like this store is out-of-stock more than others, although it is the only one in the Pasadena area, and on Colorado there is a lot of foot traffic. Came here cause I wanted to pick up my birthday gift. Usually avoid walking into a Sephora whenever I can cause I feel like their customer service isn't that great. Sorry I don't have a Chanel purse or wear louboutin (how ever you spell that) shoes, but I can still afford good quality (super overpriced) make up if i want to. When I walked in, it wasn't busy, there was maybe 3 sales people on the floor. No one greeted me or bothered to come ask if I needed any help. I came into this store for the first time back in 2015 and remember how harassed I felt. I went in today and was reminded how the associates treat people. I was asked over 10 times if I needed help. Clearly, the manager calls out who looks "suspicious" and sends all associates to attack. I love Sephora! I buy so much stuff from them online but I had to go to the store to buy my dad some cologne... I felt a LOT of pressure to buy from them. The girl let me smell a lot and kept recommending some to me. I just felt so pressured haha. I came in to the Pasadena store 034 around 230pm looking for a Christmas and Birthday gift for my girlfriend. I have never been to a Sephora on my own. I did not know where anything was. I was having trouble with looking for a few expensive ass items on my girlfriend's Sephora wishlist. I was greeted and helped by Darwin with my list. Yes, Darwin, like Charles Darwin; Father of evolution. Survive or die. Kill or be killed. If you're different in nature, YOU DIE. Anyways...she was super helpful with answering all my stupid questions like if make up expires and if it's out of stock online then what happens next? She answered all my questions and cracked a few jokes. Darwin took the initiative upon herself to ask questions to learn more, make suggestions, and show me where everything was at. She even suggested great gift ideas outside of Sephora that would go great with the makeup items. She was very friendly and offered her assistance if I needed anything else as she went to restock some of the make up shelf. It felt like forever when I finally decided what to do and what I should get. Darwin suggested the ability to ship the items by ordering from the store. Knowing my home is unsafe for packages, I took advantage of it. She helped me order the make up online and pretty much made my life easier. Darwin also gave me a small sample too! I do not recommend visiting this location of Sephora! I purchased a make up forever blush on and eye shadow pallet. Milan was supposed to help me complete my purchase but she probably wasn't skilled enough to complete her task. She took twenty five minutes to figure out my credit card and later told me that her credit card machine couldn't read it. I asked her to make the purchase online for me so I could use the same card I wanted to use. (I knew there was nothing wrong with my card since I always use it to shop at Sephora). She did not fill (my) correct contact details while placing the order online and I had to waste more time. Milan later told me that she had successfully placed the order for me online and handed me a receipt. She told me that I should receive my products within three business days and I was good to go. I asked her if I would be receiving a conformation email from Sephora; she wasn't certain about it. Since I had previously made numerous purchases from Sephora online, I knew for sure I should be receiving an email. I waited for a while but there was nothing from Sephora in my email. I called the Sephora customer service and they informed me that no order has been placed online for me by me or any one else. I was so mad and infuriated after the customer care representative told me this. I called the Pasadena store and tried to get in touch with Milan to figure out what's going on. I had to call thrice to finally reach through her. Every time I asked for her, the call would disconnect from their end. So right when I finally spoke with Milan, she insisted that 'probably it takes a while for the order placed to show up' which I know was false. I told her how mad I was and how irresponsible it was on her part to deal with my situation. She told me that she would try to get in touch with Sephora online and give me a call back. She probably did try to get in touch with her but I wasn't really helped. She told me that she was unable to talk to any one since they had closed. She recommended I spoke with her manager who could reassure me that she had done her bit. I spoke with Nikie, her manager, and she very much told me the same thing what Milan told me. Both of them were not willing to accept that there has been a mistake on their end and probably they should train their employees more to use credit card machines and type better. She has promised me to help me figure this out by tomorrow 9am. I am very vey disappointed with the customer service at this store. Besides the hassles with my online-in store purchase, I had to: -wait in a really long line -deal with rude Sephora make up experts. I asked help from one of them and she said she would get back to me. She however never did. -deal with technologically I'll trained employees. I also purchased the beauty blender at the store. Did a quick shopping pick me up. So fun to play in here. That being said...I usually have a TON more fun at other Sephoras because they are very knowledgable and willing to walk you through testing. NEW STORE: Layout: As with all Sephoras, it was very organized and they have a good balance of skincare, make up, hair products and tools, as well as perfume. Service: I had a decent amount of help searching for a berry lip stain, but it felt really short. I had to show MYSELF new things and explore by myself...May be it's because they're fairly new....THEY NEED MORE ASSOCIATES. There was a total of MAY BE 3-4 actually on the floor. Prices: They're lacking a lot of their labels??? Usually you have a slip on the display with the name of the product and price....Half of the stuff was missing. Still love Sephora. This one? I think the customer service here was below average. I asked an item which the sales associate said she had to check in the back. Then after more than a few minutes wait, I saw her roaming around the rest of the store doing other stuff. She saw me approaching her and immediately told me that someone else was checking and she was waiting for response and she tapped her headphones. That would have been fine with me, had she came back to me to tell me that she was waiting for someone in the back room to report back. I could have used that time to look around the store for other stuff. When I checked out, the person at the counter finished my items without checking for my Beauty Insider membership number. So I told her I wanted to include the purchase for the Beauty Insider points. She told me I could call the 800 number and report the points myself, or else she would have to refund the whole order and recharge them the purchase. I opted for the latter, why should I have to call the 800-number to correct her error? Pure laziness. read more

Always happy to make free samples when you can't decide if you want somethi something or not. Sephora has an amazing return policy, and the employees aren't grumpy when you return something because it causes you to break out or something. Products: a bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it. Again, the staff can make u samples so you get your regimen right. And once you get it right, no more acne or acne scars! It's taken me almost two months to write this review. I visited this branch with a group of friends one Sunday in May. I bought a tube of lipstick and so did one of my friends. I've lately taken a liking to deep pink / plum shades and so got ahead and bought one. When I got home, I was surprised to find that the shade that I chose (after sampling a few) was not at all what I ended up purchasing. It was labeled as my preferred shade, but when I was about to use the shade I bought for the first time, it was not at all what it was labeled as! It was freaking mislabeled! I was irritated to say the least. No woman likes spending $20+ for a lipstick, esp. a shade that she does not like! I lived in Lancaster at that time and had no intention of driving back to Pasadena just for an exchange. Fast forward yesterday. I was out with my other friend who also purchased lipstick the same time I did from Sephora Pasadena. We got to talking about the lipstick and LO AND BEHOLD, she told me that the lipstick she bought was also not the same shade that she sampled! The one she bought that day was an ugly shade that was not at all what she sampled. We were furious! With tax, the two tubes of mislabeled lipstick we bought cost almost $50! SEPHORA PASADENA MISLABELS ITS UNPOPULAR LIPSTICKS WITH THE MORE POPULAR SHADES SO THEY CAN GET THOSE OUT OF THEIR SHELVES AT A PROFIT! I would expect something like this from a no-name store that does not have a reputation to protect. But Sephora Pasadena which THRIVES on women's insecurity and vanity... c'mon. I am never disappointed whenever I visit this Sephora location to stock up on my skin care needs. Located across the street from the Cheesecake Factory and with cool dessert shops nearby such as Lette's Macarons, Cafe 86 and Dot's Cupcakes, if you park in the 90 minutes free parking structure, you can wander around the area. Street parking is limited since it is Pasadena and there's actually a valet podium that sets up outside the store for the restaurant next door. The Sephora staff here are great & helpful and the lines are decent where you can just run in & grab what you need right away and leave in a flash. Everything is decently stocked up and offers more brand selections that the Santa Anita mall Sephora location may not offer. read more

I honestly LOVE Sephora because I've learned to just love make-up. So I personally love this location, but it's not my favorite one because the one in Glendale is way bigger! This one is decent sized, but gets quite busy on the daily basis, especially on the weekends. I came here on a late Saturday afternoon and the place was so packed that I could barely move. Girls just gotta have their make-up or skincare! I honestly think I spend way too much here each time I walk in, but luckily this weekend, I stopped myself and didn't buy anything. So a couple of tips about Sephora, is that they have a really good customer service return policy if you the color you bought didn't fit you, or you got an allergic reaction, you can return it. I also really like how you get samples of the perfumes there. I love perfume and always want to try new ones before I purchase it. So every time I go, I would ask for a sample of 2-3 types of perfumes and each one should last me about a week. (: YAY! Then if I like it, I would go online and order it. Well, honestly, Sephora is so known that they are self explanatory, so I wouldn't need to explain it much. The customer service there is superb and the place is nice and clean. Just be careful when you use their sample products on the shelf... could be running with bacterial with so many people using it and all. read more
