    Custom rice and tofu bowl
    April S.

Great place! I had been wanting to try the past few times i was in DC for a concert but it was a bit inconvenient at the time. If you havent been here before, think chipotle but with korean food. This time, it was right next to the venue. Of coarse, when i arrived, the place was packed with other concert goers, but the staff handled the crowd very well and the wait time wasnt too bad. I opted for the custom bowl with purple rice, (my fave), kimchi, corn, radish, and tofu. Topped it off with the ginger carrot sauce and seaweed. They even had gluten free cookies so i definitely got one of those.

One of my favorite Korean fusion spots opened up in the new'ish across the bridge "Downtown S.E." by The Navy Yard (I just made that up). I HAD to go!! Let me show you what they're hittin ON! . Where I am: @Seoulspice . Location Reviewed: 1251 First St., S.E. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: Rice Bowls, Gimbap/Korrito (Korean style burrito), Noodle Bowls (Japche- gluten free sweet potato starch noodles), Salad Bowls, Beef (Bulgogi), Chicken (Dak), Spicy Pork (Jeyuk), Tofu (Dubu), Corn, Cucumbers, Egg, Carrots, Korean Radish, Kale Slaw, Fire Powder spice, juices & MORE!! . Items Reviewed: Their Korrito (a burrito wrapped in seaweed with chicken, corn, sprouts, kale, cilantro, crispy garlic, & ginger carrot sauce $8.99). STAMP!! Juicy chicken, with ingredients that blended perfectly because YOU choose them!! STAMP that carrot sauce too!! Their Noodle Bowl (with Japche noodles, bulgogi, kimchi, kale, corn, green onions, & fire dusted). STAMP!! That bulgogi was super tender, not fatty, those noodles were cooked to perfection!! Their Rice Bowl (with purple rice, spicy pork, kale, cucumber, carrots-$8.99, & a ginger sesame soft boiled egg-$2.49). STAMP!! Hot edible tender spicy pork, tasty rice, & well blended ingredients. New Navy Yard location! Long awaited, my favorite Korean food in DC!!!
    Traci N.

SO thankful a SEOULSPICE opened up in the Navy Yard area! This is my favorite lunch food in DC and I'm usually running to NOMA or ordering in, but the SE location is so convenient for when I'm in that neighborhood. There is metered parking out front. It's a busy area but that also means that you'll find a place to park as people are always coming and going, if you're coming by car. Once you get inside this location you'll be greeted by a vibrant baseball-themed mural (because: next to the ballpark!) and lots of seating. There are built in outlets in the center tables so if you are bringing your laptop or need to charge your phone, this SEOULSPICE is ready for you. The FOOD. This is why I'm obsessed with every SEOULSPICE. It's Korean comfort food, modernized as "korrito" (a play on gimbap), "noodles" (japchae), and "rice bowls" (bibimbap). I alternate between all three of these. Whatever I get, it usually has the tofu and *always* The Egg. The Egg is consistently marinated to perfection, soft-cooked, and goes with everything on the menu. Also worth nothing: the entire menu is gluten-free. I'm not g-f but for those that are can trust that there is zero gluten here. Including the desserts.

    Spicy Pork bowl with egg

We ordered online and picked up at the store. Inside you could tell it was new and fresh. It was easy to pick up and our food was ready at the register. We both had customized our bowls; one had spicy pork and added an egg (extra $) and the other was bulgogi. It was nice to be able to pick from many different sides. Each of the sides we selected were good. The egg was underwhelming and was placed whole into the bowl. We thought it was going to be sliced in half, like their promo photos. Bulgogi (bbq beef) was ok, the spicy pork had more flavor and we enjoyed that more. The bowls ended up around $15, which is about the same as similar bowls you can get in the area.

I was in the area and decided to grab some lunch. I'm glad I decided to come here. The customer service was a 10 as well as the food. I built my bowl and everything I had was delicious. I wish they offered more outdoor seating for the warmer months; however, there is plenty of indoor space and eating. I'll most definitely be back!

usually I don't try something again after a lame (bland) first experience but i am out here trying to be a better person (one step a time folks) so hello - on the bottom we have the Seoul Train with their godly spicy mayo. the chewy japchae noodles were slippery little buggers so hard to eat but a super fun texture. bulgogi was tender and salty and went well with the crisp vegetables - I went with a make your own on the salad base. I expected just ...leaves...but it was roasted vegetables in a seasame marinade. so so good and made the whole bowl moist so i approve - chicken was super delicious, soft warm and marinated perfectly. lots of flatter from the chicken and base so didn't matter how light their "ginger carrot sauce" serving was, so I survived that L - not a ton of topping options (or options in general), kale slaw added a sweet touch to the salty heavy flavor profile. kimchi is always a win, this one is quite mild so good for those who don't eat it plain like me ha. - overall a good sorta healthy feeling option that adds to the plethora of chipotle- style -fast casual - ethnic - cuisines in DC. not like great though, ya know? chipotle energy ....ya know? - one thing though! wonderful, kind, helpful, and energetic workers! great service for sure

Tried this place after receiving a coupon in the mail, and generally enjoyed it. I think this is a solid lunch option, mid work, something quick. It's quick and easy, the place is very clean, and the employees are great. As with a lot of these places, I think the bowl is as good as your choices. I like the purple rice as a base (prefer it over the noodles which I think are a bit bland and greasy), Tofu, Kimchi was good but J think I needed a bit more flavor. I would try this again and add one more sauce maybe and an egg. I think overall, this is a unique build it yourself food option that feels healthier than a lot of the other options!

Chicken, steak, kimchi , kale , noodles

Everything was 10/10 the service was top notch , WILL BE BACK . Food 10/10, it was my first time so they let me sample some things and help and suggested things the whole way . I love them

What should have been a quick lunch…read morewith my coworkers turned into one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. Unfortunately, the problems started as soon as we opened our food. I ordered a 3 Finger Combo with naked tenders, extra crispy fries, and three pieces of Texas toast with butter on both sides. Instead, I was missing an entire tender, my fries were soft instead of extra crispy, and the toast wasn't prepared as requested. These are modifications that have been accommodated at other Raising Cane's locations, and my order was confirmed before I paid, so I expected it to be made correctly. It wasn't just my meal that was wrong. One coworker substituted fries for coleslaw but somehow received two coleslaws instead, even after the order had been read back correctly. Another coworker found a long black hair in his food, immediately ruining his meal. By the time we realized how many mistakes had been made, we had already left the restaurant, so there was no practical way to have everything corrected. Mistakes happen, but it's rare to see so many errors in a single order affecting multiple people. Missing food, incorrect substitutions, ignored requests, and a hair in someone's meal all made for an incredibly disappointing experience. To make matters worse, the service itself lacked professionalism. The employee taking our order repeatedly asked coworkers for help, seemed confused throughout the process, and even forgot what she was asking. When I later spoke with the manager in the gray polo, I expected someone who would take the concerns seriously. Instead, he came across as dismissive and confrontational, leaving me feeling like our experience didn't matter. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. I hope this location improves its order accuracy, food quality, and customer service, because customers deserve better than what we received.

The fries were golden and crunchy, and the drink was super refreshing--just what I needed after a long morning of sightseeing. The customer service was excellent everyone was friendly, quick, and helpful. I also loved the decor inside; it was fun, clean, and had that signature Cane's vibe that makes the experience even better. We enjoyed our meal sitting around the beautiful Union Station, which is such a historic and stunning building. After eating, we explored inside and admired the architecture, shops, and all the energy of this iconic spot. It's the perfect place to enjoy good food and soak in some DC history at the same time. Definitely a great stop if you're passing through Union Station

The chicken came out with blackened edges because of their preparation method. I don't prefer that taste, but others may. I did not find the sauce to be particularly spicy so I added the 'extra hot' sauce on the side, which helped to add more flavor. Surprisingly, the chicken breast was very moist, along with the thigh. The ambience is casual and relaxed. There are plenty circular or modular seats along with smaller tables along the back end of the restaurant. My biggest complaint was their restrooms. They have gender neutral restrooms; two stalls total. Both restrooms were in great need of cleaning with a LOT of bodily fluids all along the toilets and floors. Also, there was no option for hand towels, only an air blower to dry your hands, which is one of the most disgusting ways to dry freshly washed hands. I recommend either creating one male and one female stall instead of unisex because men and women have very different habits in the restroom. On the positive side, Carolina and Barian were quite helpful and kind. They made the overall experience better.

There was a sign, but it wasn't very noticeable when we walked in, so we completely missed it. A quick explanation when we were seated would have made a much better first impression. Once we realized how ordering worked, everyone went to the counter. I ordered last, but my meal was fairly simple: The Wingman (6 wings with PERi Chips and PERi-PERi ranch) plus a side of rice from the kids' menu. Everyone else received their food, ate, and finished before my order ever came out. To the staff's credit, one employee noticed I still hadn't been served and appeared to rush my order. When my food finally arrived, I was disappointed to find one of my six wings was so small and burnt that it wasn't edible (see photo). Some of the other chicken served to our table was also a little over-charred. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the lavender lemonade, and I liked the variety of PERi-PERi sauces available to customize the flavor and heat level. Overall, the experience had some service and food quality issues, but there were enough positives that I'd be willing to give Nando's another try. Hopefully, the next visit will be smoother.
