Please stop by here Christina was oh so welcoming! The food came out very fast and fresh. Everything tasted great. Cooked well. The Chicken Shack sandwich is going to be a sure fresh flavor- it's different. Not what I expected flavor wise but I ended up enjoying it. The view of the water is calming. There is upstairs seating. I don't have a Shake Shack in my city, so this was my first time trying it. I got the bacon cheeseburger (single) with the Shake sauce and a side of fries (which I believe was around $14 for both). You order through the kiosk and take a number. Service was quick, good burgers, and views of the Wharf were great. I had wanted to try a shake, but was already planning on getting ice cream later anyways. 2026 #8 read more

Hey friends! I was working a conference at the Wharf and needed to quick lunch option. I ordered the Korean BBQ burger. It was okay, nothing to rave over. The burger was cooked well but lacked flavor. Tip: if you're really hungry get the double patty. I was still hungry after the single patty lol. -Customer service was okay. -At the Wharf a couple doors down from Anthem theater: -Street parking or garage parking. -Two levels for seating. -Tables were dirty and napkins were not stocked. I hope you enjoy! read more

The food at shake shack is good for what it is and this is a quick option at the wharf if you're in a time crunch. They have seating available outside, upstairs, and downstairs, however, the dining room doesn't get attended to as it should and I've noticed this other times as well- tables covered in trash, empty tables are dirty, or overflowing trash bins. read more

Came in here for just a shake. They were out of the Dubai chocolate shake by 8pm. Ordered at the kiosk and they ran out of numbered plaques. It wasn't tremendously busy but somehow there's a back log of customers waiting for their food at the tables and at takeout. I waited 15 mins for a shake when the restaurant was not full. Also the restaurant looked like it went through a tornado with fries, wrappers sauces on the floor. The bathroom was locked but overflowing with paper over the paper bin read more

This is a sad day for me, because I thought Shake Shack would be perfect for a quick bite at a fairly reasonable price and I have to say, I was never able to find out! I have been to this location before and the service as well as the atmosphere was great! Tonight, not even remotely close to being a satisfactory experience. When we walked in, there were a few people ahead of us at the kiosk and we had a few questions to ask the two people standing at the register, but they never even acknowledged that we were standing there! Hey, I get it, you are busy, but we have a reason for standing there to talk to you. They just walked away and left us standing there for approximately five minutes while everyone working behind the counter was doing their thing. It gave us an opportunity to look at each member working and what stood out was the lack of communication between co-workers and NOBODY SMILED! The kitchen floor was a mess and the dining area floor had trash scattered throughout. Sorry Shake Shack, this location is a Sad Shack... read more

This is the worst Shake Shack experience I've ever had. If your posted closing time is 11:00 p.m., why are the doors locked at 10:40? We placed our order online, arrived before closing, and were refused entry because the doors were already locked. Locking customers out 20 minutes before your posted closing time--especially those with prepaid online orders--is unacceptable. If you're going to stop serving customers before 11:00, your posted hours should reflect that. read more

Solid shake shack. Overall fast and efficient service. The ambience was pretty clean for the area. The food was good as expected from Shake shack. The restroom was a challenge, they told me to look for the code on the napkin box, but it was hard to get the numbers down (particularly since the napkin box was where people were sitting). read more

Came to Shake Shack at The Wharf with my girl. The wait was about 15 minutes, which felt long since it wasn't that busy--and no one was at the register or gave any updates while we stood there. That said, the food was definitely worth the wait and the price. Everything was fresh, hot, and honestly hit the spot. Only issue? I asked for no pickles on my burger and still got them--which wasn't a dealbreaker, but definitely annoying when you customize your order ahead of time. Overall, solid experience with a couple hiccups. I'd come back, but double check your order just in case. read more

No service. No personnel taking orders. Three self serve kiosks. Only one in operation. Pitiful.

Not a good experience for premium fast food pricing. Restaurant was dirty with leftover food scraps and trash on most tables. Burger was maybe half inside the bun and sloppily made with sauce all on the outside. Fries were lukewarm. Napkins and ketchup were out. Items from our order were missing. Would not recommend. read more

I wanted to take a moment to share how much I enjoyed my recent experience at this shake shack. From the moment we arrived, the employees were friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing excellent customer service. I would especially like to recognize Ms. Christina, who I believe is one of the managers at this location. She made us feel genuinely welcome and took the time to speak with us and personally welcome us to the restaurant. Her positive attitude and warm personality truly stood out and made our visit memorable. The food and shakes were excellent, but Ms. Christina was the highlight of our experience. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and takes pride in her work. Her leadership and dedication create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects positively on the entire team. Please pass along my appreciation to Ms. Christina and the staff. Employees like her make customers want to come back. Thank you for providing such a great experience. read more

BLUF: Delicious burgers, mediocre fries and other quick-serve options. I am so glad I don't live close to a Shake Shack because my hamburger intake would increase significantly. I definitely think this fast food joint has a good burger but I can pass on the crinkle cut fries unless they are loaded with cheese.. If beef isn't your thing, there are other options too like chicken nuggets and sandwiches. I think of shake Shack as being somewhere between fast food and quick serve because when they are busy it can take 20 minutes to get food but that burger is worth it. This particular Shake Shack is located in DC's Wharf neighborhood right next door to the Anthem mixed use venue/concert hall. There is relatively minimal seating inside for as busy as this place probably gets during the warmer months. On a frigid January evening all of the tables and bat tops were occupied. In the summer, I suspect there is outdoor seating that offer great people and seagull watching. Shake Shack is about a half-mile walk from the Waterfront metro station. There is some street parking in the area as well as a nearby garage but the garage will definitely turn a $8 burger into a $20 experience. read more

As usual, Shake Shack doesn't disappoint. I ordered via their app for pickup and received my food not only on time, my food was still piping hot. Pickup was fuss free and easy. I waited for about 8mins for my food to be ready. Love the food, love the quick service. The seating area is big and is great for big groups. There are 2 self-service kiosks for quick ordering. I highly recommend that when the line is long. read more

Hard pass... if you're a tourist and you've never ever been to Shake Shack then maybe you can do it just to try it. But I generally wouldn't recommend it. I've heard great things about this infamous burger chain and I could not have been more disappointed. I ordered a cheeseburger with some fixins and it comes out looking like a flaccid cafeteria burger that you pay 8 dollars for. The patty was very dry and tasted like overcooked frozen low grade discounted beef. The bun was actually decent but it couldn't save this disappointment. Food: 2/10 Value: 3/10 read more

Themis location literally locked the doors on customers who had already paid because ther were unprepared for the July 4th crowd. My child waited for 90 minutes outside in the heat after ordering and paying on the app. When we came to find out what in the world was happening, they had no idea where his order was and said they couldn't refund him because it was on the app. Of course we weren't willing to accept that flimsy excuse and demanded the food he had paid for. 7 minutes later they finally give him his food and it was horrible and not fresh at all! So he ended up still being hungry. This was despicable, if you can't handle crowds you shouldn't be in a prime location or use an app. Do better! read more

Ordered a veggie burger and it was very good. Shakes were yummy too, creamy and not overly sweet. Decent and prompt service. Located on the Wharf, the whole area had a vibrant night life vibe on the weekend we popped in. Really enjoyed our time there. read more

It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our food. From the time we walked in the door, it took about 10 minutes standing in line to get to order. Ordering took about 5 minutes. 35 minutes later we got the text message saying our food was ready. It would then take another 30 minutes to actually get our food. And it was cold. I can't imagine why, it came straight from the kitchen, and I'd been there waiting for 30 minutes. And I don't blame the staff, they were dealing with a lot. It's cherry blossom season in DC, it was busy. It's not that. There is so much about how the place is organized that does not make any sense. Too many things to bother listing. In so many ways it's set up to provide shitty service. Just don't go there. Save yourself. read more

First time visiting the Wharf and we made a quick stop to Shake Shack for some milkshakes. Ordered at the kiosk as soon as we entered. It was pretty busy so my lucky number was my order number (Yay). It was sort of a long wait for our milkshakes but, again it was crowded. Milkshakes were a nice sweet treat as we walk around the Wharf area. The milkshake was very good and crunchies were the best part. We definitely return when back in the area read more

Definitely a spot to check out if you visit DC area. This was open quite late and it's surprisingly good for anyone looking for a great burger and not worrying about the waistline. If you're looking for a casual and satisfying meal near the waterfront (and didn't get a reservation at one of the upscale restaurants on the Wharf), you can't go wrong with Shake Shack. Most of the restaurants on the waterfront were fully booked and didn't have capacity for my party of five, so we were very grateful when we discovered the Shake Shack. Ordering was easy and convenient with the Shack app, which allowed us to skip the long line to place an order. We received our food within 20 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy the place was. Everything hit the spot - the burger was juicy and flavorful, and the strawberry shake was THICK and creamy. It was exactly what I needed after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant had plenty of seating options, with two floors of indoor tables and some limited outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed our meal and felt like we got good value for our money. Shake Shack may not have been in our original travel plans, but it definitely came through. read more

Can't ever go wrong with shake shack! I always get the shack burger without the sauce and add bacon with all the fixings in addition to mayo and mustard. I also get it well done because I don't like pink burgers lol. The service is quick for the most part as it stays busy every time I visit this location. The staff is friendly and busy. This location has a great view of the wharf and the water front view just makes it better. They have self service machines, you can order ahead, or you can go to the counter. This location also serves beer and wine so that's a plus! read more

I live near The Wharf, SW area and visited this location for the first time. It was a wonderful experience primarily due to the store manager, Kristina. Food was pretty good and service was really fast. We got the chicken bites, cheese fries and a burger. Overall pretty good

The views are nice! The berry lemonade was refreshing. The spicy fries are essentially the plain crinkle cut friend sprinkled with chili powder. The avocado bacon burger was so sad looking. The avocado was barely present, the space addition of lettuce and tomato was laughable, and the bun was smashed to hold it all together. For the price you pay, you might as well go anyplace else to get better food. You can use the electronic ordering stations so you don't encounter anyone other than picking up your food from the counter after they shout your number. read more

Delicious! Got a single shake shack burger and chicken sandwich before a show at the Anthem. Good for the price.

Good value for the area. Most everything else in the area was pricy. This was budget friendly and the did was good. Didn't feel completely welcome. Some servers need to do more... smile more... be extra polite and courteous. There is the way you talk to peers and friends and then there is the way you talk to customers. We waited in a line for 25 minutes before closing, were the last ones in line and were the ONLY people who didn't get it

Oh where to start... They didn't have the special shake of the month. Only one of the two restrooms was open (and not well maintained for the extra volume) and, to top it off, the bio-degradable cup which held my large lemonade / tea ruptured when I tried to insert a straw... So I got soaked in a sticky mess - which also soaked the table (but, it was sticky when we started). Yeah, I won't be back. You should try one of the other places down here on the waterfront and take a hard pass on the Shake Shack. read more

I ordered the garlic Parmesan fries. They came out cold, which is odd considering the restaurant was moderately busy. They also forgot my Parmesan aioli with the fries. The burgers were sloppily thrown together. Not good at all. read more

We came here BEFORE closing on a Monday when The Anthem had a concert. We walked in at 9:45 and every worker groaned loudly. We had preordered online thankfully so it didn't put them out. God knows that they would have done to our good. Look people, be thankful you have a job and don't agree to work hours if you are not committed and ALL IN to work than. Be prepared if you go and the line doesn't seem to move, that you probably need to order online and wait 40 minutes for your order to be ready. Many people were waiting in a "line to nowhere" because the staff member at the door was not letting people know that they needed to use the app to place their orders. I went over and told several people. I was making me so mad that there was no type of communication to the potential customers. Once I did receive my text, it took another 10 minutes to actually get into my hands. I get that not enough workers etc, but communication would go a long way. Our shakes were both the wrong type and the fries were cold and not enough cheese for the bacon cheese fries, it barely covered 5 fries. The smoke stack burger was good, but not worth the wait. read more

I am not sure why Shake Shack has less than 5 stars - as far as fast casual burger, this and In-n-Out are my favorites! We had some delicious cheeseburger and crinkle fries before seeing a show at the Anthem. I love love the smash style burger that gets those nice crispy edges. read more

Let's start by saying that it was saint Patrick's day weekend that I visited and the are was absolutely pack every where you when and also is cherry blossom pre festival weekend and they had a whole bunch of things going on and the food was actually kinda disappointing but it wasn't bad I wanna say I'll can probably do a better job in my house griddle. I've never been to one of these places before and I've been craving a good smashed burger for quite a while now and I was afraid I was going to be disappointed and I was maybe because it was soooo extremely busy and it was my first time but it took them about an hour to get the order ready but nonetheless the staff was friendly and motivated thru such a rush So kudos for that to the crew and even though I opted for a white truffle burger expecting to have my socks blown but no but that's ok I give them the benefit of the doubt because it was extremely busy and I'll give them a second chance in the future. read more

Ac doesn't work and they don't let you know when ordering. Made for a miserable experience

listen. the food is either accurately or approximately prepared, despite being consistently the busiest restaurant on the wharf. the employees definitely hate everyone and do not care if you know, but any restaurant that can get away with this has to back it up by offering delicious food. i love shake shack and i do not care if the employee tells me the drink i wanted is not available, and i ask for a different drink, and they give me a third drink that i did not ask for (this happened last time and i only respect her for it). i love their seasonal truffle offerings and their burgers and fries are always fresh and reliable. as one of the more affordable wharf options, they are relatively quick when there's not a huge event going on and you can order ahead online anyway. read more
