I arrived around 4:30 PM, and instead of trying to accommodate me, the manager rudely told me I was late and said he would have to put me in a different vehicle that would cost me more. I've rented cars from plenty of agencies and have never experienced this kind of treatment. I understand that I was late, but there was no reason to speak to me the way he did or immediately try to charge me more rather than simply explaining my options. Things then escalated into an argument, and he proceeded to kick me out of the location. His behavior was extremely aggressive and intimidating, to the point where I genuinely felt threatened and concerned that he might reach for a firearm. Even during the busy holiday season, when things can get stressful and some customers can be difficult, they remain patient, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. They take the time to make sure everything goes smoothly and do their best to resolve any issues that come up. While other rental companies in the area were overbooking and even canceling reservations (which is crazy), Mike took great care of my rental and made sure everything was handled properly. Website indicated there were many (compact, mid-, full- ...) available. When I showed up, Manager Andrew told me "Yeah, we don't have any cars". Airlines also over-sell their capacity, but when they are oversold, they are obligated to compensate you ("$400 to take the next flight"). This unfortunate site has an unsustainable business model. Leading up to our move, I spoke to several Budget representatives over the phone who were incredibly professional and helpful, assuring us that we'd receive assistance with the trailer when we picked it up. Unfortunately, our actual experience was a nightmare. We picked up the truck earlier in the day without issue and returned around 4:30 PM to get the trailer. After being directed to wait out back, we were finally told that due to "liability issues," the staff couldn't help us attach the trailer to the truck. We explained that we had never used this kind of equipment before, but all we got was a vague instruction to watch YouTube videos. Reluctantly, one staff member helped us attach the trailer but refused to help us load the car, again insisting we watch videos. Feeling completely uncomfortable with this situation, we went back inside to cancel the trailer from our reservation, only to be told that we'd have to detach the trailer ourselves. Seriously? We didn't even know how to attach it in the first place! After several failed attempts in the rain, we went back inside, stressed and exhausted, and the front desk lady could not have been less helpful. She kept saying she "didn't know what to do" and that we should call someone else to help us. Even worse, she had the audacity to claim she was "doing us a favor" by letting us pick up the trailer later in the day and helping with the initial attachment. How is this a favor? Isn't that your job? To make matters even worse, when the guy who initially attached the trailer returned, he immediately started yelling at my boyfriend, accusing him of breaking something--which was impossible since we hadn't touched anything other than the jack. He cursed at him refused to listen, and even told him to "get the f**k out." The front desk lady just brushed it off and said not to take it personally. How can I not take it personally when I'm being verbally abused? This entire ordeal was beyond stressful and has left us with a huge financial burden. Because we couldn't take the trailer, we now have to leave my car behind and pay for it to be shipped separately--a process that will take weeks and cost us far more than we had planned. NOT properly climate controlled since new management came in August 2023. It used to be 74 degs…read more+/- and 47-52% humidity inside. Now, new management raised the thermostats to 78 degs which lets humidity climb into the upper 60s to 70s. Mold and mildew ranges that are not good for fabrics, furniture and bedding.. I've run a recording thermometer / hygrometer since day one and it was very consistent before August. New manager says corp made them raise thermometer to 78 and won't budge. Also, he said he was "not allowed" to share corporate contact info. WTH? We like this location; it's safe, clean, convenient, and the staff have been awesome. Now, it is starting to smell bad inside and other tenants have commented the same to me.
