I have used U haul several times whenever I moved. Some experiences were good and some just ok. But my experience at Mission Bay U haul was exceptional. Great service. Employee Paula is kind efficient and will get you on your way in no time. Vehicle was sanitized clean and drove perfect. Great experience highly recccomend this business. I had a truck reserved to be picked up at 5 PM and dropped off at 5 PM the next day but they screwed up the reservation and had me bring it back at 9 o'clock in the morning when my movie was supposed to start. Not only what they not change my reservation but after they told me that my reservation could be transferred to a place 20 miles away and the extra mileage be taken care of, they failed to follow through with that so now not only do I have to drive another 40 miles, but I have to pay another couple hundred dollars for the rental. This place is horrible - stay away. They are apathetic and really don't care about their customers. The service is horrible and there are much better places in the area. read more

I rented two 26 foot moving trucks from Mission Bay Self Storage this past weekend. The moving company we hired (Speedway Movers Plantation, Florida) totally screwed up the move, but the employees at Mission Bay Storage provided A++++ customer service. It would take me too long explain everything that went wrong with the move (Cliff Notes: never never NEVER hire Speedway Movers! At the end of any move, pay with a check and NOT cash, so that the following day, if you find a lot of broken furniture &/or suddenly realize you are missing furniture that the movers "accidentally" left behind, you can stop payment on the check), but employees & management at Mission Bay were very empathetic and patient and did everything within their power to help us out during a super stressful experience. Why I recommend Mission Bay Self Storage: Superior customer service Month-to-Month Storage Rental, i.e., NO CONTRACTS! I used my phone to show them online prices from their competitors and their response was "Let me see if I can get you a lower price..." and each time they did! Clean, secure facilities with 24/7 access They don't force you to buy over-priced and useless "Storage Insurance" to rent a storage unit like other nearby self-storage companies do! I read previous 1 & 2 Star reviews from other people who had a bad experience here, so I can only assume there has been a change in ownership or management this year, as all the employees I dealt with @ Mission Bay over the last 3-4 days were simply great. Worst experience. General mananger (if she really is) is so unbelievably immature and rude. She seems like she likes to insult and argue with customers, which actually because I was in the car and not inside with my husband she says I'm not a customer. We decided not to take the unit and the employee told us he would refund the initial charge. Hours later she calls (let me add she wasn't even there when we were) and says she will not refund us BC its not policy. We left there hours earlier being told we would get refunded for a unit we never took possession of and received no documentation on and she really thinks they should be paid for literally nothing and on top of that hanging up on me and insulting me.. Absolutely unbelievable. Steer clear of this place. Public storage is cheaper and friendlier. read more

I used this location to rent a U-haul truck for moving from Boca to Boynton. My appointment was for 10am; however, we showed up at 9:30am. The truck was already set aside and ready to go. The front desk agent was great and had all the paperwork ready. We were informed of the fees up front plus and estimate of how much they believed we would be charged based on our round trip mileage. By 9:45am, we already had the truck keys. Returning the truck was made easy (kept the truck for 8 hours) and my final bill charges hit my bank account within a few hours of return. The crew here was very friendly and professional. Just a heads up.... the mileage costs range from $0.79/mile to $0.99/mile based on which day you want the truck, so plan accordingly. read more

The worst service ever! I leased a truck for a Friday night. U Haul called me to tell me the truck was broken and I would have to pick up a truck 20 miles away, and that someone from UHaul would call me. Well, no one called me. I called UHaul and it didn't seem to be a problem to pick up the truck the next morning since they closed before I could get there. I drove the 20 miles the next day and there was no truck. Not only that, the person at the counter said I cancelled my reservation (for 4 days, when we were closing on our house on the following Tuesday and were homeless for 3 days) . I used to use U Haul exclusively but I will never use them again. Not only were all the employees I talked to extremely rude, they didn't make any attempt whatsoever to rectify the situation. When I called Penske the people were more than accommodating and said I was at least the 10th person to call that day to say U Haul did the same thing to them. That is what U Haul's guarantee is all about - they will pay you $50 to leave you in a horrible bind. read more
