I've been going to see her for about a year now. She specializes in hair cuts so you know she knows her s***. I have really fine asian hair which I think is pretty hard for people to work with. I've never realized what a flattering and great hair cut looks like until I now. I appreciate that Alexis is honest and will let you know if a style you have in mind will not work for you. She's really friendly and can LISTEN - not just to the words you say but also to your mood. She can tell when you're in a chatty mood or not and adjust accordingly. I love the fact that she doesn't push products on me. I also love the fact that she remembers I'm allergic to fragrance and will not use product in my hair either (I have a severe reaction to it). I'm going to again break my rule where I don't review a place, especially a hair place, after one visit. But for the love of all that is good Kelly deserves five stars. booking is easy, it's done online and they make it very clear regarding available dates, times, prices, schedules etc. I rolled the dice with my booking since I didn't really have anybody in mind and fortunately came up with Kelly. I have curly hair. And for some reason, it's been very hard to find somebody who can do even a decent job of cutting my curly hair. Kelly sat down with me and we looked at my hair and didn't only figure out what was wrong from the last cut but also what would make it better, what would look good on me, and what we want going forward. I appreciated the time she took to really understand my hair and what I wanted. And then, just like that... She did what I wanted, she did what we talked about. It was almost shocking, I swear. I walked out of there with 1 million cute curls and for the first time in probably 10 years, I did not need to go home and either wash my hair or completely play with it to fix it. My biggest critic of my hair is my teenage son, he is always the first one to tell me if my make up looks bad, my outfit looks bad, my hair looks bad. He recognized instantly that I got my haircut and said that it look like a really good cut, and then a few days later he looked at my hair again and said "this haircut is way better than your last one, it looks really good". Prices are fair, salon is comfortable, absolutely zero complaints. I look forward to returning. read more

Absolutely love this salon, and the wonderful Alicia! She is probably one of the sweetest, most caring people I have ever met! And what's more, she has the highest level of care for my hair stand the overall health of my hair as well!! I have naturally really really dark, coarse hair and Minnie does an amazing job balayaging or foiling (depends on how we are feeling that day) my hair without damaging it or turning me orange! Sorry not sorry for my bajillion updates for Sensa Salon. But the stylists here are amazing and that needs to be shared. Recently I stopped in after almost a year of no cut/color of my very long (and very unhealthy) hair. I've always just gone to a stylist for a cut and color, but never considered doing cut and color separately. But then I met Alexis and that changed everything. Alexis is so very talented in her focus on cut and styling. I had a consultation with her to chat about what cut would look perfect for my hair and asked her for her input. She gave my very unhealthy hair a beautiful cut and it's already feeling 100x healthier than before. She listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. At home my new cut is styling perfectly and much better than before. And I'm excited to be on a regular hair maintenance schedule with someone who clearly cares so incredibly much about what she does. Alexis is a wonderful person who is a joy to be around. The following week I came back for a full balayage with Minnie and holy-moly am I glad she was recommended to me! Minnie spent plenty of time with me looking at photos and helping me pick out the perfect "goal" look for my hair color. She's a saint for being so patient with me. But I truly appreciated her input and trusted her opinion 110%! Our first pass on my hair turned out beautifully natural and blended. Next time we're going to pump up the blonde a little more for some additional pop. But I love my color this time around and appreciate the care that was considered in how blonde we went this time, regarding the health of my hair. Especially since I just got much of my damaged hair cut off. Also, her vibe is so chill and fun--you can't help but feel happier around her. Having just moved to Seattle in the last year, I knew at some point I'd need to find a new stylist. Finding a new stylist is a bit daunting for me because I've only come across a few that could do what I liked/understood me in the past. However after reading all the reviews on Yelp and checking out their Instagram, I felt confident enough to book a haircut with Liz. I had medium length hair that I desperately wanted to chop off and Liz made sure I got what I wanted. I absolutely love my new hair and it feels so much lighter and healthier!! She's super sweet and checked in on the length while she was cutting to make sure she didn't go any shorter than I requested. Would highly recommend booking an appointment with Evie if you are looking for an amazing cut and a stylist who truly listens to what you are looking for. Evie has consistently given me the best haircuts I've ever had and I can not recommend her enough. I almost never go back to the same salon let alone the same hairstylist, but will forever be one of Evie's customers as long as she is in Seattle. I have long/medium length thick hair that gets really heavy, but I also want a super low maintenance cut (so not too many layers/thinning/etc). Evie always listens closely to exactly what I am looking for and has given me the only long layers I've ever had that look amazing air dried or styled. I thought long about posting this review because I usually don't like to talk poorly about a business, however, I tried this salon 3 different times (for simple blonde highlights) and I'll tell you my story about each time. The first time I went for simple blonde highlights, it took about 5 hours. I understand that sometimes it takes a while to do hair, but I have very thin hair, takes about 10 min to air dry. It shouldn't have taken 5 hours to do anything to it. Not only was it a complete waste of time because my hair was just "whatever" at the end, but it was almost $300. My second time in, I tried a different hair stylist. He did better on time, however my hair started to break at the ends. By the time I went in a couple months later for my third and last attempt at this place, the lady threw her own coworker under the bus and said that he had done my hair poorly and that's why it was breaking. Again, almost $300.... My third time into this place I tried another person. The timing was alright. However she told me she couldn't do the haircut I wanted because she "didn't have time" so she just trimmed it.... ok....my hair was once again below average and just whatever. When I went to my lady at home, she said she felt like this girl forgot toner. Are you kidding me?! I feel like every person I went to did whatever they wanted to my hair and didn't really listen to what I wanted and the photos I showed them. Like I said I have dirty blonde hair, blonde highlights aren't difficult to match to a photo but my hair was always way off. Again, this was almost $300.... Another thing I'd like to add : if you want the olaplex treatment (they'll explain it as the treatment to make sure your hair doesn't fall out and break after bleach) it's another $50 on top of an already ridiculous price. I'm sorry, but don't you guys want to do a good job doing people's hair and put whatever product is needed in it to get good reviews and loyal clients? Safe to say - 3 strikes and Sensa Salon is out. I will not be returning to this place. No more running my bank account dry for an unprofessional job. read more

I've been going to Sensa for the last few years and I'm so thankful I found it. The salon atmosphere is great and the staff is fantastic. I've been fortunate enough to have Sarah take care of me and every time it's an amazing experience. Every time I have my appointment it's like a breath of fresh air. The conversation is great and Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and takes pride in helping you feel your best. She's also responsive to questions and gives helpful feedback. They use high quality products and make their clients feel like VIPs when they walk through the door. They had impressive safety measures in place during peak-COVID-19 times and they also communicate well in case there are any schedule changes that need to be made during inclement weather episodes. I am very disappointed with my color correction service at Sensa. My hair was red and I wanted to get it to my natural color (light brown). I paid almost $600 for the service, hair products, and olaplex treatment. I am very disappointed that my hair turned out orange! During the consultation my stylist said we could get it back to a warm brown color. My hair is definitely not brown. The owner of the salon did offer to re-do my hair, but I moved out of town a week after my appointment so that doesn't help. They only refunded me $50. I have never spent so much money on my hair and I am extremely disappointed. I am very embarrassed about the way my hair looks. In addition, my stylist stopped doing my hair for about 45 minutes in the middle of my appointment. Apparently there had been a scheduling mistake, and she needed to do another client's haircut. I thought this was extremely unprofessional. I definitely would not recommend this salon. read more

Attention curly-haired ladies: Get your DevaCurl cut here for less! As most naturally curly haired women can attest, my hair is complicated to cut and I don't trust just anyone to do it. For example, if any stylist were to pick up a hairbrush within 10 feet of me, I would run for the hills before they came close. A brush?! Are you freaking crazy?? Fortunately, I've been to Sensa Salon for a regular haircut and a DevaCurl cut and was impressed by both. The service is friendly (why, yes, I would like a glass of wine with my cut) and the stylists are skilled. I appreciate that they have stylists of varying levels so you can choose based on your price or experience requirements. During my very first DevaCurl cut ever, the stylist walked me through every step as she was doing it and patiently explained why she was doing it. She customized the product recommendations to my hair and even took into account the different curl types I have in certain parts of my scalp. I of course took notes so I could attempt to replicate it on my own. Because their prices are more reasonable than some places, I plan to return to Sensa Salon for all of my haircut needs. read more
