I know people make mistakes so this isn't meant to shame anyone! But I came in for a layered long haircut and left with something that looks very different to me. I did point it out while in the chair and he said "yeah I'm trying to figure out how I can fix that" and "we do have a 2 week grace period". So a little choked up I paid my $140, tipped $20 out of courtesy, and left. Took a closer look at home and I was a little heartbroken. I've been growing my natural hair out for almost 2 years and it's going to stink having to grow these bangs out again. I called and spoke to the front desk (super nice and receptive) and told them about it and they said there are no refunds but free fixes. So she asked if I wanted to see Landon and I kindly declined. My thought process was if he didn't quite know how to fix it before, I would probably be best off with someone else. So she put me on a brief hold and then came back and said she could do a certain date/time with Landon. Felt like I wasn't fully being heard, so I just called it quits and am going somewhere else. I'm new to Seattle, and was nervous about who to go to for this haircut. I was hoping by going to a highly rated salon I'd be in good hands, but the experience was all around not my favorite.

I've been visiting Sensa Salon for quite some time and have exclusively worked with Ivan to achieve healthy hair. After receiving many bad curly cuts in the past, I was very apprehensive about trying yet another salon or stylist, but Ivan has completely transformed my curls. Not only is he incredibly skilled, but he's also fun and easy to chat with, and he always takes my opinions and preferences into consideration. I haven't had a single negative experience at Sensa or with my stylist, and I truly look forward to my appointments. I would absolutely recommend this salon, especially Ivan, if you're looking to revive your curls.

As first time customer here, I had an incredible experience! I was offered a beverage by the front desk staff right when I checked in and got myself some hot tea since it was a morning appointment! I booked a blowout appointment for my birthday event the next day and also + extra time due to the length and thickness of my hair but Winta was able to finish it without the extra timing. She was so fun to chat with and I think she killed it (the picture attached is after 24 hrs)! I love my hair so much, it was exactly what I wanted. Will definitely come back again!

I did Brazilian blow out. I came like way early to my appt but I had nice time sitting in the sun while drinking coffee and watching the stylists working and running around. The stylist who did my hair was young lady super nice and did a good job with my hair. I will be back for sure :-)

Sensa salon has great customer service but unfortunately they just missed the mark on the actual service itself. I paid almost $900 and still didn't get the result I wanted. My first appointment was in June with Anthony, he had a great personality but maybe the job was just too big for him. My hair resulted in blonde instead of light brown and the blending was very spotty. He did work on my hair for almost 6 hours and noticed he was tired toward the end so i appreciated the effort. I tried to reach out to him about the color being lighter than discussed but didn't get word back. Finally I reached out to the salon and they got back to me very quickly and offer a complimentary color correction appointment. I was so thrilled and appreciative that they wanted to make things right. I went in for my second appointment and got a new stylist, again the stylist had a great personality and I explained to her the issues and the importance of how this would be my engagement hair. After the appointment I felt better with my hair being darker but the color was still flat and lacked dimension. I was just happy I wasn't blonde anymore! Comparing it to the inspo photos, it didn't quite hit the mark. At this point I don't think I will color my hair again with them and my hair does have A LOT of damage now but I did appreciate the efforts and attentiveness. They even gifted me a goodie bag and hand written sorry letter. The customer service was great but the service itself could use improvement! I posted here the inspo photos I showed them, my hair before the appointments and the results I got after each appointment.

I had the most amazing cut and color experience with Alexys! She was so communicative throughout the whole process, asked fantastic questions, and really understood the outcome I wanted in my hair. Went from my outgrown brown roots with damaged blonde grow out to my natural shade of brown and I am obsessed! Sarah was my stylist and she absolutely killed it! I also got the K18 treatment instead of a Brazilian blowout like she suggested and my hair feels so much healthier. The price is quite steep but I do think it is worth it because she did such a good job that I was willing to splurge! Thanks Sarah will be coming back! :) read more

If you are looking for a great haircut or wedding/event hair and makeup this is the spot! I've been going to Alicia for a while now for my hair and she does an amazing job! She takes such pride in her salon and every stylist there is so nice and approachable. So it was only natural when I was getting married that I ask her about hair and makeup for the event. We decided to do our get ready at the salon since we had 11 women getting full hair and makeup. A few hours later, one hair and makeup artist also came to the wedding location for touch ups right before we walked down the aisle. Alexis did my hair and Taylor did my makeup and I cannot tell you how OBSESSED I was with how it turned out. I have never loved my hair and makeup more for an event and literally would not have changed a thing! I went with an old hollywood wave with glam makeup. I did a hair and makeup trial which I highly recommend because we made adjustments from the trial on the wedding day for both hair and makeup. Alexis even practiced my style between the trial and the wedding on someone with similar hair. Not to mention Alexis and Taylor are both just lovely to be around and work very well together. All my bridesmaids and the two Moms looked gorgeous. The salon plowed through 11 people between 10 to 2:30pm because so many girls could be styled at the same time and there was no early wake up call which is so nice on your wedding day. You might think having all 11 girls in the salon would be chaotic but the entire staff was so genuine and nice to be around. We had champagne flowing and even had lunch delivered! I would definitely recommend Sensa to anyone! read more

Best salon in Seattle. No question. Everything from the ease of scheduling online, the delicious beer selection and consistent great cuts. I've seen multiple hairstylists here and they're all great. Everyone is super friendly and easy going. I've gone into other salons and the vibe wasn't as welcoming. They also offer free neck cleanups if you need in between cuts. Do yourself a favor and check them out, you wont regret it! read more

So disappointed with my final result...I got a DevaCut by James. I wish I looked further in the reviews. I got my hair dyed as well and I should've seen this as a sign when he just started to put dye in without asking about my hair history or anything of the sort. I also expected him based on pictures on their Instagram to be able to handle black natural hair, 3a/b, but he seemed to struggle a lot with it throughout the entire process. After the dying my ends felt so dead and my hair feels dry. Even got dye all on my forehead and didn't clean it up so it is stained on my skin around my face. Now onto the DevaCut I asked to keep my length and I just wanted some layers, I didn't want this triangle shape that weighed down my hair. So as I watch him cut instead of this supposed "curl by curl" cutting technique that is suppose to be happening. He starts cutting my hair my chunks and it ended up being uneven so I had to cut parts myself when I got back home. Not even mentioning his customer service, he rarely spoke to me and was just not very welcoming. Wish I didn't go. read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Sensa Salon. The atmosphere is warm and elegant with beautiful decor, friendly staff, and a great selection of products and lines. Sensa caters to your needs offering complementary drinks including bubbly and wine. I loved sitting under the warmer with a glass of red wine while my hair treatment nourished my locks leaving them silky and shiny. My stylist, Jayde, is fabulous! She has a great eye for helping select what look would best flatter your face. I put my trust in her and am thrilled with the results! Thank you Jayde and Sensa. I will be back soon! read more

I had an amazing experience at Sensa amid the Covid pandemic. Tupper was my stylist and I loved him! He transformed my hair back to blonde (after 7 months of growth) with a full foil. He took his time and made sure I didn't feel rushed when our appointment ran over time. I felt completely safe in the salon and saw the staff sanitizing each station after each use and everyone was required to wear masks inside the salon. Tupper brought this new mom back to life! My hair is very thick and my desire to go from balayage to very blonde via full foils was no easy task, to say the least. I was his last client of a long day, and did not once feel like he rushed, or wanted to get the job done. So so so in love with his work! It was my first time at Sensa and I was getting the pentura haircut and color for my curly hair. I haven't gotten this done before, so I was a little skeptical my hair would turn out the way I wanted it, especially not having ever put color in my hair. Julianne did an AMAZING job!! New additional review: Taylor - Bridal Make-Up & Alexis - Bridal Up-Do Just as every other service I've received at this salon, these ladies did an amazing job for my big day! Alexis knew exactly what I was looking for and how to make my hair behave to accomplish the look. She knew exactly which product to apply to my hair to get it to hold curl and fake some body as my hair is pretty much always straight/difficult to hold curl. She worked pretty quickly and the result was perfect! Taylor is so sweet and bubbly. Her make-up skills are pretty awesome and she made me feel like a model. She wrapped up my session exactly on time. I appreciate everything you do/did for me! :) I felt 100% confident and ready for my day and the photos (which is something I typically dread). Disappointed. I scheduled a consultation for tape-in extensions and I was seen by Ana. I guess I should have called first to see if they could work with curly hair and tape-ins. The short answer is "no". They didn't really give me a lot of options for what WOULD work for my hair and recommended a second consultation for tied-in extensions and/or a blowout. She also kept checking her watch and I just felt like she didn't really care about a new client and was being dismissive. I was really excited about this place, but it was a waste of time and a big disappointment. read more

I just got a curly cut with Nichole and she is amazing! Really took her time with my hair and gave it so much tlc. After the cut/ wash/ and style my hair looked the healthiest I've seen it in years. I really loved the products she used and appreciate the styling tips she gave me. A lot of people have a difficult time with my hair texture since I have very coarse curly hair, but Nichole clearly is very knowledgeable with curly hair! Will definitely be going back! read more

I absolutely ADORE this salon! I specifically go to Lea who is an expert in her craft. As someone with curly hair I always have to be really selective with who I go to, and I trust Lea with my whole head. She's an amazing listener and takes time to really understand your needs during the consult. She checks in as she goes and takes her time styling, showing me how I can style at home as well. I definitely recommend her and Sensa Salon - I always leave feeling so wonderful about myself! read more

Worst place ever!! I went to this salon this morning. Drove all the way from Tacoma with heavy traffic. I was a bit late about 15-20 mins because I was stuck in traffic. The stylist Heidi that was supposed to do my hair greeted me and seated me. She asked what I wanted to do and I told her full balayage. She said since I'm a bit late she could do half. I was okay with it because I wanted it done to go on my birthday trip this weekend and I told her that. Then she said let me ask what my coworker thinks and we can proceed with what's best. Her coworker came and gave us some ideas. I told her I trust her and do what she thinks is best, no pressure. Mind that it's been about 20-25 mins since I walked it. She then went to the back and came back after 5 mins saying "I don't think I have enough time to do it and blow dry it". I said it's fine we can jus dry it with a towel and I'm fine with a damp hair. She kept coming with different excuses saying "I won't feel comfortable letting you go with wet hair". Again she went to the back and came back and said "I NEVER DONE YOUR KIND OF HAIR, TRY TO RESCHEDULE". I was shook and pissed at the same time. I told her it was cool put my hair back up and walked out with tears in my eyes. I gave them 5 star so it can stay on the top. Below is the photo I sent them before and showed them how I'd like my hair done. Eventually I've never gotten my hair colored by African American before when I got it done back in my home town Minnesota so I thought it would be the same here but I guess not. read more

I love Sensa! Everyone is very kind and genuine- the receptionists are always so friendly and helpful. Not to mention it's a beautiful space. I go to Minnie and she is just the best- always listens carefully to what I'd like and always delivers! I came to Sensa to have Alicia bring all my long, voluminous hair dreams come true! And she totally delivered! I had wanted to try out the Habit hand tied extensions since I was sick of my thin hair and had just come to a plateau with growth. Shortly after writing my review, the owner of Sensa got in touch with me (leaving a voicemail) to apologize for the situation and issue a full refund. He was very sincere. Honestly, he didn't have to give me a full refund, but I appreciate that he did. I've bumped my review up to 3 stars, accordingly. There's no undoing the bad hair days I had for photos while on my trip, but no hard feelings, really, now that Sensa has done what it can to make things right. read more

Alex Serna did an amazing job! I moved to Seattle a year ago and I struggled to find a hairstylist in the area. After seeing Alex's instagram I felt comfortable finally booking my much needed haircut. If you have long hair and are anxious to get a haircut look no further. Alex Serna is a long hair specialist and he knows what he's doing. He gave me exactly the haircut I asked for without taking off excess length. He's a good listener and very gentle as well! Super impressed! I mean they really know what first impressions really are. As I walked in, I was kindly greeted! I don't think I had been to a "fancy" salon and been warmly greeted before! My esthetitian Anthea was super sweet, offered me a glass of wine, coffee, water.... I don't remember what else she had offered me because the wine totally called my name! Sugaring was definitely better than hard wax. It didn't feel like my skin ripping off. My usual gal down in Puyallup wasn't free on my day off so I frantically searched Groupon and livingsocial (just like I had found her) for someone comparable. After doing a search near my place in Puyallup with not much success, I figured why not try where I work in Seattle! Well I'm sure glad I did! Not only did I find a livingsocial deal for Sensa but found Anthea (thanks to her stellar reviews) and chose the sugaring vs the usual hard wax treatment I normally get due to the comparison explanation on their spiel on livingsocial. Her space is totally calming and charming! I love the building as it probably has been there since Seattle became a city! She made me feel at ease on the table as she waxed me (may have been the wine). I am already looking forward to coming back for my maintenance! Thanks Anthea! I'm glad you have late times (as I get off at 6pm normally) and is on my way to the bus stop. Hit or miss. I tried to go back here but was denied service because I have black hair texture. Despite me calling ahead, I showed up and was told they couldn't do my hair and to reschedule when someone was available who could do black hair. Meanwhile my hair fell out due to the semi-permanent hair color they applied months ago. read more

LOVE Sensa Salon. I booked a blowout and make-up application service for a photo shoot and was super pleased with the result. The entire experience was seamless: booking online was easy and I was able to get next-day appointment (yes, I procrastinate). The blowout service included a super relaxing scalp massage. My hair is pretty easy to style and I just wanted it styled straight with a little bit of volume, and I got exactly that. If you check in on Yelp, they'll give you a Sensa mug filled to the brim with goodies. Mine had the Kevin Murphy hair products that the stylist used on me. The make-up application was amazing. I told them that I was doing a black & white photo shoot, and the makeup artist suggested that we do something a bit more matte and dramatic to highlight my eyes and cheekbones. I was a bit worried it would look too touched up, but I was again super impressed with the result. I walked out with flawlessly glowing skin, the perfect contour that I would not have been able to create on my own (or even tried to do on my own), fiercely glam day-to-night eye makeup, and natural-looking faux lashes. I walked out feeling ready to SLAY. The ladies here are fantastic at what they do, and genuinely friendly. The price point was also not bad at all (comparable to other places in the area). Suffice to say, I need to make it a habit to come here for regular pampering and makeover. read more

100% recommend Sensa Salon! 5 years ago I was new to Seattle and my hair was in serious need of care. I was not keeping up with maintenance and had no idea where to even start. I was personally recommended to the wonderful Alicia, who did my initial consultation and my hair ever since. I have seen an amazing transformation and my hair is healthier than ever. I like to change my hair style, so Alicia takes the time to listen to me each visit to achieve what I am looking for that day. She has let me explore different styles while keeping my hair in optimal health, that also includes advising me on damaging fad looks I think I want in the moment. She has educated me so that I continue the work on my own as well as recommending the right products for my hair. She genuinely cares about my happiness and thanks to her I know the confidence a good head of hair could bring. Over the years I have come to know the other stylist and see their work. They are creative, attentive and professional and will do whatever they can to ensure happy clients. I know the owners are constantly investing in the stylists, providing continued education and opportunities for growth. The staff is friendly, the salon is clean and beautifully styled, what more can you ask for !? All in all, The true definition of customer service lives here and the company culture is amazing. Nicole was fabulous! I had an appointment for hair color and got more then I asked for. Nicole offered and provided me w/snacks, an adult beverage & great conversation. She did an incredible job on the color, wash and styling of my hair. I cannot wait to return for future touch ups and maybe a few highlights. I love Sensa salon. I have curly hair and Kelly and Sophia know exactly how to cut and style my hair so that it looks amazing. The salon has a great vibe and sustainable products. I am glad that I found this place. Kelly really listens and her cuts are tailored to my specific curl patterns and how I wear my hair. Tupper has now cut and colored my long bottle-blonde hair and cut my Boyfriends long hair. We are both fans! Me: I'm a tough critic with my color and pretty risk-adverse with any cut. Tupper fixed a previous horrible color job and brought me back to a beautiful (natural looking) creamy blonde that still pops when my hair is up and doesn't scream "bleach". I have so much trust in his cut technique that I am now considering a long shag; he listens and but isn't afraid to share his opinion when I ask. (Aka...he's not going to be someone that puts his vision before yours, but will also help you determine what looks best!) My BF: this is the first professional cut he has had in over 3 decades on this earth. Now I don't think he Is ever going back to cutting his own hair! He made my BF feel at ease outside this comfort zone and gave him a great "Keanu Reeves circa 2014" cut. read more

I went in for a curly hair cut (deva cut) for the first time at Sensa Salon. I was pretty excited as it was my first one and I've heard such good things about it from fellow curly hair gals. First time was great with just a haircut. Second time i asked to be blonde but ended up having dark ash brown, which is whatever because I don't want to be harsh on anyone. But the hairdresser Alexys asked her colleague "it looks good right?" and then tell me it looks really good because her colleague said it looks good and very blonde. Like did you expect your colleage to tell you it doesnt look blonde right there on the spot? I felt like that interaction was gaslighting and I don't enjoy it. I would have rated higher if it wasn't for that interaction. Paid $400 for not even close to what I want is not something I would come back for. Other than that, very nice layout. Edit: I changed it from 2 stars to 1 star because of the reply and also they canceled my future appointment via email. I understand you want to protect your staffs but please don't disregard customers' feelings. I was definitely expect it to be lighter because the first time my hair was bleached it was extremely blonde because my hair is very easily lifted. Alexys was trying to blonde me as much as possible while maintaining the "health", sure, but my hair ended up more damaged than the first time i bleached my hair which was more than 2 years ago. And we discussed it before hand which she said she would try to make it as light as possible. After the bleach step it was literally platinum blonde, but then she toned it ALL THE WAY TO ASH BROWN. So not only did I not achieve what I was looking for (FAR FROM IT), I compromised for the "health" that also wasn't retained. If my hair was healthy, sure maybe it wasn't that bad but my hair was very thin and frizzy and had split ends after. I even tipped her despite the bad experience and I felt very unappreciated and invalidated by the owner's response. Also asking for opinion doesnt mean you have to ask your own employee. Stop invalidating and improve. read more

I had a Deva Cut with Victoria this past Sunday. I have never been able to understand my wavy hair - I could never quick get it down. I was tossed from hairstylist to hairstylist back home in Toronto who each tried something different but it never was quite right. However, I saw the Deva offering at Sensa and dove right in. It was a life changing experience (as strange as it might sound talking about hair!). Victoria brought out curls that I had been suppressing from bad haircuts for years. The appointment was jam-packed with information on how to properly care for my particular hair and why. I didn't just leave with a great new haircut, I got invaluable knowledge for my own wellbeing over time. It transformed my hair. Let me start off by saying Dana is incredible, Sense is amazing, and this is one of the best investments I have ever made in myself and would highly recommend Sensa for all your hair goals. I think the pictures speak for themselves but to make a long story short, I saw the back of my head in a picture and knew I needed more than a the thickening shampoo I've been using since college. There are no salons in Seattle (to my knowledge) that do this type of hand-tie extension technique. I went in for a free consultation, Dana happened to have an opening and the hair that would fit my natural hair color the best and fit me in the next day (instant gratification) - but I would recommending booking asap because they are usually booked out and they usually need to custom order the hair. All in all, I am one month in with these extensions, my natural hair has grown a noticible amount which is great, and this has exceeded all expectations. read more

10/10 experience from consult to install to maintenance. Kelly installed my hair extensions recently and I mean it when I say they are everything I've dreamed of and more! My confidence has gone through the roof--it's been life changing. It's very obvious she knows exactly what she's doing and isn't going to rip you off just to put more money in her pocket. Not to mention, she's available on Instagram DM for questions, last-minute schedule changes and recommendations whenever which was been super helpful! Her transparency, authenticity, flexibility and raw talent make her the ideal stylist. I'm relatively new to Seattle and now that I've found my place, I won't go anywhere else to get my hair done. That's the worst of it, but she also didn't rinse my hair properly, so I still had product dried up and crusty in my hair. And she barely used any product while she blew out my hair on the highest heat, burning my scalp a couple of times and damaging my hair even more. And it was still a bit wet by the time I left. I'm usually pretty relaxed, so I didn't complain until after I went home and noticed that my head wasn't properly toned (which is also not that hard to do, I've done it myself during covid lockdowns - so it really is incredible that she messed up this bad and didn't say anything, hoping I wouldn't notice). Nothing about my experience with Haley was positive. Her work was incredibly sloppy, negligent, and dishonest. Edited to add (in response to Howie, the owner): You know the issue isn't with the toner itself - I did not see that she didn't do the back otherwise I obviously wouldn't have been "pleased". Again, you know this. I have a photo attached. You see how bad it is. I don't know why you're trying to act like that quality of service is okay. I didn't realize Red Chair's standards were so low, and I regret that I gave you all a shot :/ Also, I have to spend the holidays looking like this. So thanks for that.

I started going to Ellen Hale two years ago, when I came to her my hair was severely damaged from a horrible balayage that I had done over in Spokane. She told me not to worry she would take great care of me and get my hair back to normal and healthy again. Ellen delivered exactly that, my hair is healthier then ever. Not only is she an amazing stylist but she consistently attends the Kevin Murphy conferences. Mind you she does not get paid for these trips it's all out of pocket and she misses those days of work unpaid. She does this so she can stay up to date with the line and new trends so that she can bring them back and apply/educate her clients. Ellen provides her clients with top notch service. I love that I can sit down in her chair and when she asks "What would you like", I'll teeter on a couple of ideas but ultimately say have at it I trust you. Its the best thing I could ever do Ellen does not disappoint. She's a great listener and will give proper feedback if she feels something might not be right for your hair type, you can trust her judgment she has a vision with each individual. This is the best salon I have ever been to. Ever. I have extremely unruly curly hair and I don't trust many people to cut it but then I moved to Seattle and found Ryan. I bounced between some stylists at other shops catered towards men's cuts but I just got the same haircut that every dude in Seattle had and never really made a connection with the staff. Sensa is the opposite of that in every way ever. The front desk coordinators are the nicest people ever and are so genuine, I especially love Madison. And seriously Ryan is a Rockstar, not just in appearance but in skill. I can fumble some weird words about what I want my hair to look like and she somehow knows exactly what I mean. I've been coming to her for almost a year now and it's so great that she knows who I am, what we did last time, what we will do next time, and so on. She is hilarious and we're always having fun. Also with your cut you get an awesome hot towel treatment and a free two week cleanup, seriously the best thing ever. Keeps me fresh and funky cool. This was my first time visiting Sensa Salon and Charley exceeded my expectations. I ended up getting a full balayage and cut and absolutely love how it turned out! Charley truly takes the time to understand what it is you're looking for and adds valued input into what he does. He is truly passionate about what he does and his work shows it... So talented! He took the time to get to know me and was incredibly easy to talk to. He explained ways to treat, maintain, and keep up the look I wanted. There was no pressure to buy their product (something I know we all appreciate), but of course I did. I had an amazing experience here with James. I went in one day randomly to see if they did deva cuts. That is when I met James. He sat me down - examined my hair, said he could help and from there I made an appointment. James was so nice and kind to me. He walked me through the whole process, explain how and why he was cutting my hair as well as what products he was using. I felt comfortable and at ease. I was a bit nervous because I am a black woman with textured hair and was unsure of what the results would be but I trusted the process. At the end - James should me my results and I cried!!! I was sooooooo beyond happy! I've never seen my hair curl the way that it did. He taught me so much and did an amazing job! I am very pleased and will keep going back to him! This review is about Ryan A. She handles hair care for my whole family. My wife, 2 sons, my daughter and myself. Okay, where to begin... Expertly skilled with constant continuing education and certifications. (They are very expensive but she invests in her trade heavily) She uses the highest quality products. From her shears, brushes, and dryer, to actual hair products such as dyes, oils, treatments etc. Also... Great listener and communicator. Ryan REALLY tries to understand the nuance of all your wishes and desires when it comes to hair. She asks lots of questions which is great if you have trust or nervousness issues. Is she selling her services as an artist? Or is she selling you boosts to your self esteem. I don't know. What I do know, is I feel like a goddamn supermodel walking out of that salon every time when working with Ryan. read more

Had my first experience with Sensa (formerly American cutting co) today. It was fantastic! I've been going to the same local "trendy" salon Seven found in both Seattle and Bellevue for years and decided it was time to branch out and try something new. And I'm glad I did! I received a warm welcome upon entering the salon by both the owner as well as my stylist, Collin. Collin did an absolute incredible job. He listened to what I wanted, made me feel comfortable, and delivered results that I didn't think we're possible with my thin hair. He also developed a game plan with me to help improve the condition of my hair. He's a true pro. Needless to say I made my appointment for next time before I left. Update on my experience with Sensa; you may note that the rating has changed from 1 star to 5, that is due entirely to how the saddening experience of yesterday was handled. The owner, Sarah, contacted me, and showed genuine understanding of how I must have felt, genuine compassion. She showed integrity, professionalism, and didn't once try to come up with an excuse for that weirdly dispassionate behavior of the front desk. She also refunded me, which she genuinely didn't have to do. Their services really are top notch, and clearly they learn from mistakes. I fully expect that something like this will never happen to someone else, ever again. I can honestly give them 5 stars. Owning up, showing concern, speaks volumes to the integrity of any organization. Well done! read more

Earlier today (6/30/25) I received my first haircut at Sensa Salon from a man named Landon. I'll get right to the point: It was a perfect haircut. To be clear: I'm a 70 year old man with thick/wavy/curly difficult-to-cut hair. In fact, many if not most haircutters are baffled by it--and because they don't know how to work with my hair, I'm often on the receiving end of baaaad haircuts. And yet, Landon nailed it on his first try. This he did for two reasons: First, his styling skills are masterful in the extreme. But second--and more importantly--this young man's level of interpersonal sensitivity is off the charts. Every step of the way, he took a genuine interest in my preferences and engaged me as a collaborator throughout. Landon is a dream come true. read more

I have been coming to Sensa for almost a year and I will be coming here for life. The atmosphere is absolutely chill and peaceful with an urban edge. It's so nice to be able to step into the salon from 1st Ave and have the hustle and bustle fall away and be pampered. Ryan is an absolute rock star and I'm so happy I had the luck of the draw the very first time I walked into Sensa. She is professional, courteous, thoughtful, and innovative. I absolutely know that my follicles will be on point when I leave. Anthea is also a gem - only aesthetician to get my brows even every time. Yesterday, I went in for my appointment very nervous and iffy about what I wanted. Got assigned with Kasi who was very real and she revived my hair! She even took the time to hear out my concerns and how badly all my previous expirences had been. She showed me step by step on how badly my hair had been done before and what measures she needed to take in order to fix it. She took the time to make sure that my hair would come out the way i had asked and to make sure all the questions I had were answered. Very detailed person. Highly recommend Sensa Salon and Kasi. I came in to see Alicia for a color correction from a bad Balyage attempt. I described to her what tones of blonde I wanted and how I desired my hair. Not even having an expectation for her to get it right on the first visit, I spent a few wonderful hours in her chair chatting and hair'ing away. She made sure my hair was perfect and not only was my coloring EXACTLY what I wanted, but she did it all in one visit. It was healthier than when I started! Being new to Seattle I spent several months and went to several barbershops and salons trying to find the right place to get my hair cut. I dropped by Sensa Salon one day for a walk-in, and had Ryan cut my hair that day and ever since. I've now been going to her for a few months and have been more than happy each time with her work. She takes the time to understand what look you are going for and how to make it work best for you. I would highly recommend her to any guys going for a stylish look. I had gone to the same stylist for over 20 years when I moved to Seattle from Boston. I did my homework and loved the way Alicia described her approach to connecting with clients. When I went in for my first appointment I was nervous about having someone new cut my hair. Alicia listened to me and immediately put all my concerns to rest! Alicia is amazing! My hair always feels and looks AMAZING after my color and cut with Alicia. It is well worth the drive from the Eastside into Seattle! I am fairly, well I mean VERY, picky about my hair and I trust Alicia 100%. She has top of the line products in her salon, as well. It's an added bonus that she has brought in Anthea for additional services. I was able to get my brows tinted, while my hair was processing, and it was the BEST brow tint I have ever had! My brows are thin and very blond so normally almost invisible. After the tint, they are dark & appear fuller and more defined. And, it lasts too! read more

Ellen has been my stylist for close to ten years now. Every time I see her for a cut/color I feel gorgeous and completely refreshed. She takes the time to listen to my ideas and gives me feedback to help make the best decision for my hair type (extremely fine and straight). Jenna is an absolute doll. I have been going to her for a few years now and when she relocated to Seattle I just had to come see her! My hair always comes out amazing. I have black dyed hair, a perfect silvery blonde underneath, and she has somehow managed to upkeep it so well. Not even to mention the bright colors i've dyed my hair throughout the years. Love my haircuts too and I appreciate her thoroughness. She is the absolute funniest, sweetest girl, and does her job outstandingly. The salon itself is cozy and beautifully decorated. FULLY recommend this place and Jenna to anyone interested. 10/10 read more
