When I had my trial, I could tell Christy was very knowledgable and provided excellent recommendations given that I was a very lost bride with almost no clue what direction I wanted to go for my makeup. On the day of the wedding, we had a very limited time window with 7 ladies who needed to get ready. Christy and her team not only got us ready with beautiful makeup & hair, but also finished much faster than the timeline we had previously discussed! And therefore, we had more time to do other wedding related activities. Her rates were also very reasonable. We received many compliments of how beautiful, yet natural we looked! There is one special thing I wanted to note about Christy and team. I had an outfit change from my Western bridal dress into my Chinese qipao. The makeup style for these two outfits can sometimes be very different - and if not done correctly, I wouldn't have looked as good in one or the other. However, the way Christy and her hairstylist did my hair and makeup worked perfectly with both outfits. Incredible talent! I don't always like how I look in photos and videos, but the way Christy and her team got us ready (as well as the few photo sneak previews) has me so excited for the upcoming photos and videos! When we contacted Christy again to finalize the exact time, she had told us that she booked another client. This meant we had to scramble to find another makeup artist for the date we already set with the photographer. Christy claims she didn't confirm the date stating that her first email says "-Booking is confirmed till contract signed." She may want to learn to proof read because I don't think she realizes she wrote the opposite of her claim. She could also have been more professional to check back with us before booking someone else if she really wasn't sure that we would continue our originally schedule date with her.

When she learned it was my wedding, I clarified I didn't need bridal services, so I asked for regular rates. She agreed. She provided standard customer service after that, nothing extra. Neither my husband nor friends sided with her. My husband texted her the night before, before seeing our messages and unaware I'd canceled my personal appointment. The next morning, she texted him claiming she canceled all appointments due to my "rudeness." Once he and my friends saw our texts, they were furious on my behalf. Honestly, it says a lot about her character that she's implying my husband and friends sided with her in order to give her "context" extra weight. To clarify: the biggest and most disturbing problem was her refusal to stop explaining herself, despite me repeatedly pleading with her to stop. After she texted me *yet again* at 7am on my wedding day, I lost it. Even after ruining my wedding day, she's still doing it. Case in point, y'all. ------- Lauren was the single biggest mistake of my wedding planning process. What should have been a special, seamless morning turned into a complete nightmare because of her total lack of professional boundaries, refusal to listen to client needs, and relentless insistence on arguing late into the night (AND morning) before my wedding. ​Refusal to Fulfill Requested Service: At 8pm the night before my wedding, I texted her a question, and she revealed for the first time that her salon's shampoo bowl was broken. My mom has curly hair, and I had specifically requested that her curls be diffused. Instead, Lauren offered a blowout (which does not work for curly hair) and refused to adjust the pricing or refund the service she could no longer properly deliver. ​ Disorganization & Ignoring Boundaries: Throughout our exchange, she continually confused my details, referencing services I never requested and people not in my party. When I tried to step away to spend time with out-of-town family before bed, she repeatedly called. When I called her back, she refused to stop re-explaining herself even when I reflected (accurately, according to her) back what she was saying. I told her that we simply disagreed and I understood that I had no recourse. I repeatedly asked for space. ​Crossing the Line: Pushed to absolute exhaustion by her continuous badgering on the eve of my wedding, I finally broke and told her I wouldn't be coming in for my own appointment. Then, she paused, became quiet, and told me I was just stressed out and she hopes to see me in the morning... then *again* tried to explain her reasoning! And then AGAIN on the morning of my wedding!!! I was absolutely flabbergasted. The End Result: She explicitly clarified that she would complete the remaining services in the contract with professionalism. I responded, fed-up with her repeatedly crossing the line, "yeah, of course you will, because you're a goddamn professional!" Without a word, she no-showed on my bridal party. They were all texting and calling me, wondering where she was. ​Because of the distress and chaos caused by her behavior, I spent the morning of my wedding bawling on the kitchen floor. I missed the first 3-4 hours of my wedding day, missed my First Look and bridal portraits, and my husband and I missed the entire cocktail hour with our guests. I arrived at the venue 5 minutes before I walked down the aisle. We got one day. One. A $30,000, once-in-a-lifetime day. If she responds, she'll probably talk about how she gave me a special price, agreed to come in an hour earlier when my day-of coordinator told me I needed to be ready earlier, and agreed to do my mom's hair instead of my sister's makeup (because my sister - and maid-of-honor - broke her hip and couldn't come). The services were the same price. What she won't mention? That at every chance she got, she reminded me of how accommodating she was being and how I'm lucky to have found her. ​While she refunded the cost of the services, a financial refund does not undo the emotional turmoil she caused or give me back the irreplaceable moments she ruined. I don't care how skilled she is or how much experience she has. Do not chance it. It's your wedding day.

Everything seemed fine at the time of booking, but when I reached out in January to schedule my trial, I received no response. I followed up multiple times over the course of four months via email, text, and phone calls--ignored every time. My wedding planner also attempted to contact her on my behalf, with no success. At this point, it is clear this is not a case of a missed message or temporary delay--Yessie ghosted me as a client. Because of this, I was forced to find and book a new hair and makeup artist under time pressure, adding unnecessary stress during what is already a busy planning period. To make matters worse, I never received my deposit back. For other future brides out there, please do not let Yessie scam you. Taking a client's deposit and then completely disappearing without any communication or services rendered is unacceptable.

Olivia responded quickly, was so organized and friendly and I felt so much more comfortable right away with her. My wedding day unknowingly aligned with a demonstration march through downtown Seattle. Our hotel was right in the thick of it and all the roads around it were closed down by police. However, Olivia miraculously made it right on time and even told me she had to run through the marchers with her makeup suitcase in order to get to our hotel!!!
