I reached out to Hanna for my wedding day hair, and although she was booked for my wedding date, she arranged for another makeup and hair artist, Arianna, to be available. Hanna was very easy to work with throughout the process, and was quick to respond over email. I was looking for pretty basic package - I didn't want to do a hair trial or makeup, and Hanna was very accommodating to my wishes. I thought her prices for on-location hair and makeup were fair, but I preferred to do my own makeup. On the day of, Arianna showed up at the appointed time and was even patient enough to wait for me to eat lunch before starting my hair. I reached out to schedule a makeup tutorial with Hanna, and ended up getting scheduled with a different makeup professional who was also named Hannah. After some uncertainly about if I had an appointment (I was partly to blame on that front) we set a time. Two hours before that time Hanna reached out to let me know that we needed to move it back by an hour because Hannah wasn't available. This wasn't great, but I moved some things around and agreed. When I arrived on time for the appointment I was told Hannah has just left to get a coffee and would be back in a few minutes. She arrived 10 minutes late and didn't apologize. My makeup looked nice, but for the amount they charged ($300 an hour) I really expect more consideration of my time and professionalism. Well...let me just add ANOTHER 5-star review for Hanna. I'm not really a hair and makeup girl and I knew I would feel really uncomfortable having lots of people comment on my outfit, which is to be expected if you're the bride. I knew I would be super stressed trying to do it myself, even though I had a small and fairly casual wedding, therefore, it was the one thing I was willing to splurge on. So I chose Hanna based on 1) the pictures of women here and on her site looked like actual, lovely women and not weird dolls and 2) 5-star reviews. My experience: My wedding was plagued with rather insensitive visiting in laws (example, showed up two hour late for our wedding breakfast, and then "joking" that I was rude for running out the door to get my nails done. Also texted us at 8:00 am the day AFTER our wedding - ummm, honeymoon anyone? to find out where we were going to meet them for breakfast...anyway). So unexpectedly, I was a bit stressed and a few minutes late coming back for my make up appointment by the time Hanna arrived (SHE was exactly on time). I had e-mailed some ideas to her previously and all of our communications were pleasant and prompt. But in person was even nicer. Instantly in her presence on that stupid stressful day I started to relax, she was calm, smiling and ready to work. Even though I made us start late (so sorry!!) she didn't give me any grief for it and got it all done on time. I needed that so much. And she's just a nice person. She kept chatting in a soft voice to my curls while she was pinning them up..."Okay curl, you tell me how you would like to sit, okay, like that? Oh you look nice now"...it was crazy soothing. In the end, I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup that I really should have taken some cards for her to hand out to the crowd. But most importantly, my groom, who always sees me sans makeup, really loved it. The look stayed put all night and the best part was that when I finally unpinned my hair, she had done something that made it look cute down too - so bonus, two more days of wedding hair awesomeness before I washed it out! The only thing I would have done differently would be to spring for the trial run, so that the day of my wedding I would have been excitedly anticipating the look, instead of being kind of worried it would be weird (it was so not weird!). read more

Hanna is AMAZING. I could just say that and not elaborate, but she is worth elaboration. Wedding makeup was something that (as silly as it sounds) kept me up at night. I didn't know what to do. I'm not a girl whose really into things like makeup, but I knew that I wanted mine to be just perfect for the day of the wedding. For the longest time, I just figured I'd go to Sephora or Mac the morning of the wedding but realistically, going anywhere the day of the wedding - other than our hotel room or the venue, just sounded ridiculous and impossible... not to mention stressful. She took the time to get to know me through social media so that she had a better understanding of who I was before the big day came. We did a trial run and that was really fun, and very impressive! The day of the wedding, she came to me. She was on time, if not even early (I wasn't paying a lot of attention to time). She worked perfectly along side our hair guy and did makeup for myself and my 12 year old daughter who was a jr. bridesmaid. I loved that with my daughter, she was able to do beautiful makeup including some false lashes - while maintaining a look of natural beauty. My daughter felt so special and beautiful and I was pleased that it was just perfect - not overly done. My bridal makeup was OUTSTANDING. There truly are no words for how fantastic it looked! It held all day and night and there were no problems at all. She understands what's needed for great photography, definition, etc. My eyes were amazing. I think the thing I loved the most though, was that Hanna had a very calming effect on me during the most hectic time! She stopped right before she did my lips, handed me a muffin and said "Here, eat" and I did. I'll always be grateful for that little moment. I had a great experience working with Hanna to do my bridal make up. Hanna was very responsive, attentive to my ideas, extremely punctual, professional, and skilled at creating a beautiful, natural look. I booked her to only do my make up (no bridal party) since I had a small elopement style wedding, and nevertheless did not suffer any quality or lack of attention for the service. I have nothing but good things to say from the time of our trial session together to the day of the wedding. After researching several make up artists in the Seattle area, I found her price of travel to location + make up to be on the higher end of the cost spectrum, but chose her specifically because of her expertise in creating a natural look and her amazing customer service. The only other small feedback contributing to 4 instead of 5 stars is that my make-up wore off quite a bit within 6 hours. That said, it wasn't a problem for me since we had a small elopement wedding, but if you are going for a full day of wedding activities and professional photos, I'd consider adding on the touch-up service. Hanna had a prior commitment but was able to provide me a Lead Stylist, Laticia. Laticia did a trial run of my hair and makeup which was a lot of fun and made me feel comfortable about my wedding day. Fast forward to last Saturday, Laticia did a fabulous job! She did hair and makeup for me, my mother and my maid of honor and she was dealing with a teenager, a middle ager and a senior. We all looked terrific and were very happy with both our makeup and hair. Laticia has a great personality and was totally calm with the zoo of people in the room.
