She has been in the business of hair for a super long time, so she knows what she is talking about. She does a wonderful job with color and cuts. She was my stylist for my wedding as well. The thing I appreciated was her advice to do my hair transformation in two parts. She purposed this idea so that I could see and experience my hair half way short rather than going straight to a full bob and then being stuck with something that I regretted. After 6 weeks of enjoying the first step and feeling no regrets I was so excited for the final cut that ended up being the cutest bob! Madison H clearly understands the importance of her role in helping people like me by giving us what we dream of while being realistic.

She is very talented with what she does and very very attentive to make sure to get you what you want. We always have fun conversations as well. I'm Asian and our hair isn't the easiest to work with. I usually get my hair done when I visit Korea (but then COVID happened) or choose to find a Korean salon here, but I wasn't able to find one in Seattle nearby that lived up to my expectations. I also don't change my hair much - last time I got it chemically treated was almost 3 years ago, which I think makes chemical treatments tricky. Bleaching prior to coloring took a VERY LONG time but Tomoko was very patient with me and made sure we achieved the color I wanted. And despite bleaching for quite a while, I don't feel like my hair was damaged much (if at all). Oh, and oh my god, the head massage while washing my hair was A M A Z I N G. I think it was the best head massage I've ever gotten and I sort of wished I could stay there forever. The salon isn't big, but very well prepped for the pandemic (they check for your temperature prior to entering the salon, ask to wash your hands, everyone wears a mask and currently they don't use a blowdryer to dry your hair to minimize risks - they used a bonnet hood attachment for me) and I felt safe during both my appointments. As for pricing, it definitely isn't cheap but I think the salon lives up to the price and everything is transparent and as listed on their website.

They put in a lot of safety measures because of the pandemic, including doing a temperature check, having you wash your hands before you can get service done, and they've also made sure that everything is sparkling clean. I felt safe and well-taken care of the whole time I was here. I'm so excited to have finally found my hairstylist in Seattle! I can't recommend Berry Berry and Yuka enough.

Olivia began thoroughly washing my hair, with a nice scalp massage too. Once done and in the chair, we then discussed the style being I was looking for: long u shaped with lots of layers and face framing pieces. She used only scissors, no razors. Hair was wet and she sectioned off the hair to blow dry and cut. After she was done cutting, she used a flat iron to show me how to style the layers to make it look fresh and full of volume! I spent over $600 at this salon and left with a haircut and color that were both significantly worse than when I arrived. I was initially recommended to Meg by the salon staff, so I trusted that she was an appropriate stylist for what I was asking for. Unfortunately, she ran out of time during my appointment and rushed through the service. My color was left uneven, and her attempt to correct it with a toner was also rushed. When I got home, my hair was visibly uneven in tone and color. The haircut was shocking. One side was approximately four inches longer than the other, and large sections had been chopped into blunt, uneven pieces despite my explicitly asking for that not to be done. It was so poorly cut that I could not wear my hair down. The appointment itself was also unnecessarily uncomfortable. At one point, two people were drying my hair simultaneously, pulling and tugging in opposite directions. It was painful and felt incredibly rushed and chaotic. Even the products I purchased were incorrect. I was given two conditioners instead of a shampoo and conditioner and had to return to exchange them. I immediately contacted the salon about the haircut and color. I was given another appointment with Meg to address the problems, but the correction made things worse: my hair was darkened several shades beyond what I had requested, while the haircut remained visibly uneven. At that point, I contacted the salon multiple times asking for help resolving the situation. I received no response. I eventually called and was told that my concerns would be discussed and that someone would contact me the following day. That was three days ago. Still nothing. This is what I find most unacceptable. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. I was willing to give this salon a second chance, willing to have them correct the work, and willing to communicate directly to resolve the situation. Instead, after spending more than $600, I was essentially ignored. The combination of poor workmanship and a complete lack of follow-through from the salon is unacceptable at this price point. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you are looking for a salon that stands behind its work and responds when a customer has a legitimate problem.

I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I was surprised that the haircut itself only took about 10 minutes, and I am not sure if the length was checked. Once I washed my hair (a couple of days later) and it was straight again, I noticed that the left side was shorter than the right and reached out to the stylist. The stylist said she would just round out the right side to match the left. I mentioned that I wanted to grow out the left side a bit before having corrections made because I didn't want any more length taken off. She said that that would count as a whole new haircut. Since I just paid for one, I didn't think that "solution" was reasonable at all.

I hired OffWhite for hair styling on my wedding day this past May. Nicole arrived on-time and was so sweet and friendly to me, my mom and all my bridesmaids. She really knocked it out of the park with all of our hair styles and we felt so beautiful. She even pinned fresh flowers in my hair in the exact way I envisioned. She also literally saved the day -- Nicole volunteered to drive my house keys back to Seattle so a friend could retrieve my wedding binder (marriage license, certificates, banquet permits, and reception lay-outs) that I had accidentally left behind. She volunteered to do this without asking and it meant so, so much to me that she would do that for us. I just really wanted to commend her because we wouldn't have been able to get the precious photos signing the certificate or knew the reception layout if she hadn't done that. All of the staff I interacted with to set up the appointment were also so sweet and really professional; I would definitely recommend OffWhite to any future brides! :) read more

Off White is totally FAB! I called Megan 8 days before my wedding because I had already had 2 bad trials and decided I would have a friend do my hair and makeup. After my 2 bad trials, I was given her card by some random lady in my building that had used her when she got married and it was amazing. My hair was so natural and romantic and I loved that she used AVEDA because that is what I use at home. The other times I had it done my hair was crunchy and the curls were too tight! The airbrush looked flawless and I NEVER wear makeup. My husband was even surprised. Megan is very talented at what she does and I am so glad I found her. The entire crew at Offwhite is incredible! I worked with the owner, Megan, to coordinate logistics, a proposal (with multiple revisions on my end due to changing the number of people getting ready), and setting all of my appointments -- she was super patient, helpful, and friendly. I also worked with Nicole for extensions for my wedding hair and she was the best - super responsive and amazing to work with. I had an amazing experience with Off White and especially with Megan. She did the makeup and hair for my September 12th wedding and it turned out so well. I went to two other people before finally finding Megan and after having both of the other trials go the way they did, I am so glad I kept looking. They were really flexible with price right from the get go and made it so that everyone in my bridal party could afford to get hair and makeup done. Megan from Offwhite in a word, Aces. I have had several positive experiences with her and her team since 2008. I have used her for a photo shoot, 2 dates, and a wedding. Calli did my make up, which was OK. But, she came with a hair stylist who didn't even pin my hair properly. I was alone with no friend or family member with me, and I realized that she didn't even finish what she committed. I understand that you have got other appointments too but in my case you were left with more than enough time to be able to spend at least 10 minutes more to fix my hair properly. Being in rush isn't professional ! You were in rush throughout. I was disappointed that I had a messy looking hair on such an important day of my life. I found Angalina and Megan through a co-worker who had her hair and makeup done by these ladies for her wedding. I had a consultation with the girls and they were very professional and well organized! They also did a great job at answering all my questions regarding the day of the wedding. Shortly after that we set up my trial run to do the hair and makeup. They gave me exactly what I asked for! It just gets me that much more excited for the day of my wedding. Megan and her team are top notch. I've worked with them multiple times as I am a wedding photographer. My clients always look polished and beautiful but not overly done. Whitney also created a schedule to keep my bridesmaids on top of things and when I got to the house I was getting ready at, all my bridesmaids looked SO GREAT. Meghann accommodated this request graciously, which gave me complete confidence heading into my wedding weekend. For my actual wedding day, I actually gasped when she handed me the mirror. She books trials too close to the date, so when the trial went sideways, I had to add a to do to the busy planning, which wasn't ideal. Kendra seems to have a one size fits all approach to makeup, and she doesn't listen. She has a heavy handed approach to application (see her instagram). She is condescending and makes little snide comments that are little biting insults. When I mentioned that my eyebrows were way too dark and overdone, her response "eyebrows are a non-negotiable"... umm, wth is that about? Anyway, upon calling other artists, it seems that Kendra has quite the reputation with her peers. They've heard my story from other folks that have attempted to work with Kendra. Recently, Kendra has announced that she is "mostly" retiring from makeup application, but beware that she is still hiring out makeup artists under her KLS business. There are numerous other capable professionals in the area, and I would highly recommend looking to them if you have any interest in natural and flattering makeup. I gave kendra the opportunity to make this right with a partial refund, which she chose to ignore.

When she learned it was my wedding, I clarified I didn't need bridal services, so I asked for regular rates. She agreed. She provided standard customer service after that, nothing extra. Neither my husband nor friends sided with her. My husband texted her the night before, before seeing our messages and unaware I'd canceled my personal appointment. The next morning, she texted him claiming she canceled all appointments due to my "rudeness." Once he and my friends saw our texts, they were furious on my behalf. Honestly, it says a lot about her character that she's implying my husband and friends sided with her in order to give her "context" extra weight. To clarify: the biggest and most disturbing problem was her refusal to stop explaining herself, despite me repeatedly pleading with her to stop. After she texted me *yet again* at 7am on my wedding day, I lost it. Even after ruining my wedding day, she's still doing it. Case in point, y'all. ------- Lauren was the single biggest mistake of my wedding planning process. What should have been a special, seamless morning turned into a complete nightmare because of her total lack of professional boundaries, refusal to listen to client needs, and relentless insistence on arguing late into the night (AND morning) before my wedding. Refusal to Fulfill Requested Service: At 8pm the night before my wedding, I texted her a question, and she revealed for the first time that her salon's shampoo bowl was broken. My mom has curly hair, and I had specifically requested that her curls be diffused. Instead, Lauren offered a blowout (which does not work for curly hair) and refused to adjust the pricing or refund the service she could no longer properly deliver. Disorganization & Ignoring Boundaries: Throughout our exchange, she continually confused my details, referencing services I never requested and people not in my party. When I tried to step away to spend time with out-of-town family before bed, she repeatedly called. When I called her back, she refused to stop re-explaining herself even when I reflected (accurately, according to her) back what she was saying. I told her that we simply disagreed and I understood that I had no recourse. I repeatedly asked for space. Crossing the Line: Pushed to absolute exhaustion by her continuous badgering on the eve of my wedding, I finally broke and told her I wouldn't be coming in for my own appointment. Then, she paused, became quiet, and told me I was just stressed out and she hopes to see me in the morning... then *again* tried to explain her reasoning! And then AGAIN on the morning of my wedding!!! I was absolutely flabbergasted. The End Result: She explicitly clarified that she would complete the remaining services in the contract with professionalism. I responded, fed-up with her repeatedly crossing the line, "yeah, of course you will, because you're a goddamn professional!" Without a word, she no-showed on my bridal party. They were all texting and calling me, wondering where she was. Because of the distress and chaos caused by her behavior, I spent the morning of my wedding bawling on the kitchen floor. I missed the first 3-4 hours of my wedding day, missed my First Look and bridal portraits, and my husband and I missed the entire cocktail hour with our guests. I arrived at the venue 5 minutes before I walked down the aisle. We got one day. One. A $30,000, once-in-a-lifetime day. If she responds, she'll probably talk about how she gave me a special price, agreed to come in an hour earlier when my day-of coordinator told me I needed to be ready earlier, and agreed to do my mom's hair instead of my sister's makeup (because my sister - and maid-of-honor - broke her hip and couldn't come). The services were the same price. What she won't mention? That at every chance she got, she reminded me of how accommodating she was being and how I'm lucky to have found her. While she refunded the cost of the services, a financial refund does not undo the emotional turmoil she caused or give me back the irreplaceable moments she ruined. I don't care how skilled she is or how much experience she has. Do not chance it. It's your wedding day.
