TL;DR: Do NOT book with her I am extremely disappointed with my experience and feel obligated to warn others. I booked this hair and makeup artist last year for my August 2026 wedding and paid a deposit to secure my date. Everything seemed fine at the time of booking, but when I reached out in January to schedule my trial, I received no response. I followed up multiple times over the course of four months via email, text, and phone calls--ignored every time. My wedding planner also attempted to contact her on my behalf, with no success. At this point, it is clear this is not a case of a missed message or temporary delay--Yessie ghosted me as a client. Because of this, I was forced to find and book a new hair and makeup artist under time pressure, adding unnecessary stress during what is already a busy planning period. To make matters worse, I never received my deposit back. For other future brides out there, please do not let Yessie scam you. I'm not from the Seattle area and I was frantically trying to find someone to do my hair and makeup for my engagement photos. I was recommended Yessie thru my photographer. I checked out her Instagram and loved all her work ! I reached out to Her thru email and she replied to my emails promptly and we were all set up. Please take this as a warning to future brides... Yessie full ghosted myself and several other Spring 2021 brides for our weddings. We were left in a lurch and forced to find other people to do our makeup/hair. Here is the context: · I connected with Yessie in August 2020 for my May 2021 wedding. Her reviews were great and I loved her portfolio · We chatted via phone and she was lovely! So helpful and wonderful and her prices were reasonable compared to other Seattle artists. · I paid her a $200 deposit. · In February 2021 I emailed Yessie to ask about setting up my trial. No response. · I emailed her again early March. No response. · I called and left a voicemail on her cell phone. No response. · I texted. No response. · I texted a second time and got a response saying she was out of town for some major family issues and that she would reach out to me in a week. Never heard from her. · 3 weeks go by so I text again. No response. · I texted 2 more times. No response. · My wedding was now 6 weeks away so I scrambled to find another makeup/hair artist. · The new artist told me that this wasn't Yessie's normal character BUT it had happened to dozens of other brides too. My new artist was booking approx. 5 of Yessie's brides PER WEEK who had also been ghosted. · None of us have been able to get our deposit money back. I understand that she may be going through some personal events but fully ghosting this many brides is uncalled for. If you are a future bride, I would look elsewhere. read more

Yessie is so kind and thoughtful. She traveled to do my hair and makeup on site for my wedding and she also took care of the groom (Wes said for days his eyebrows have never looked so good :) ). She left me with some lipstick for touch ups later in the day which I had not expected and I really, really appreciated. Every moment with Yessie is calm and collected and she was so pleasant to be around during my trial session before my engagement photos and on my wedding day. Yessie was always flexible and tried out different hairstyles with me at my trial. She was really patient and we felt awful when Wes forgot to bring down her final payment from our room to pay her on our wedding day.. so she had to wait until we could send my brother to our room to find the envelope we had prepared for her. In the end, we finally got it to her in-person, despite some confusion over where to find her when she stepped out for lunch but she took the delay in stride and never showed any impatience or unhappiness with us to which I am forever grateful. Really embarrassing for me to share, but I just really wanted to thank Yessie and explain just how perfect she was to us despite our hiccups. I'm also surprised by the positive reviews, but unfortunately I did not have a very good experience. I was able to get a quick response from Yessie confirming that my wedding date was available, but after a couple of e-mail exchanges involving me asking for more clarification about her pricing, she stopped responding! After sending one last follow-up e-mail stating that I was still interested in booking her, I gave up and ended up booking with a different makeup artist instead. I'm sure Yessie is very talented with her work, but I don't find her very professional in terms of communicating with potential customers. Yessie was an absolute dream to work with. I used her for my wedding in May which was outdoors with an elegant woodland vibe. Yessie was spot on in the looks I was going for both me and my lovely bridesmaids. She was excellent at my trial, patient with my indecisiveness and spent time to get the perfect look we were going for. On the wedding day, she did a better job than I could have even dreamed of. Her energy was calm and soothing, helping all of us feel stress free on the day of the wedding. My bridesmaids and the women in my family all looked gorgeous as well. There are not enough kind words in the dictionary to describe Yessie. She was so detail oriented and went out of her way to make sure that everybody was satisfied. She even provided airbrush foundation for the groom, and helped my grandma do her hair when she was freaking out over it. She did a marvelous job covering up little eczema that I had from stress (I had wedding planning, finals week, and a full-time job! Ah!)
