Tried our luck one random Thursday afternoon and actually managed to be part of the first 10 people in line. Hoozah! (Do people still say that?) I was prepared to roll my eyes at a fussy omakase experience (hate when restaurants don't accept reservations), but the price and quality had me eating my words along with the toro. In a nutshell: $48 is an amazing price for their LARGEST omakase/sushi set (the Hokkaido Set) and nets you plenty of pieces to satiate your fish cravings (full item rundown below). If you should need more, as my greedy self did, you can tack on lovelies like the King Salmon Ikura Handroll or the Yellowtail Handroll for $5-$8 apiece. I couldn't get over the low, 1990s-esque prices, especially considering how great the quality of the fish was. I mean, for $48, I was prepared for Temu salmon that tasted like AI rolled it. But all our nigiri was well-made, slathered and pressed with plenty of little bells and whistles to make them sing in our mouths. My oh my, do I want to queue up again when the weather outside isn't an inferno. ------------------------------------------ Hokkaido Set, Jun 2026: - Hirame Shiso Handroll - Ocean Trout - Sea Bass - Hamachi - Sea Bream - Ankimo (Monkfish Liver) - King Salmon - Snow Crab - Hotate (Hokkaido Scallop) - Chutoro - Botanebi Prawn - Shiromi with Radish Handroll - Mini-Kaisendon

Got the Tokyo set - 9 nigiri 2 Handroll 1 tiny don. Solid quality fish for the most part! My favorites were def the nigiri here, then Handroll, lastly don. The fish in the don tasted not so fresh this time. Service friendly staff Ambiance - cute little sushi bar inside, to get there you have to take stairs up! location can be kind of hard to find

We came here for lunch on a Saturday at around 11:30. We waited 20 minutes since the chef wasn't available yet. The sushi was wonderful. I enjoyed all the pieces even though my taste buds were a little bit muted due to having a cold. Nothing can really can't beat the price point. We each got the Hokkaido which includes 10 nigiris, 2 handrolls, and 1 kaisendon for $53. I was full. Sendo is a place that excels in quality and not unique flavors. If you're looking for unique flavor pairings you're probably better off elsewhere. But if you really enjoy comparing the flavors and quality of different fish, you must give them a try.

I went here for a solo lunch. I did have to wait a bit because I arrived about 7 min after they opened and they already started (I got lost, didn't see the sign for the door). But it was worth the wait! I got the Tokyo set and it fed me full but I also wanted more salmon so I got the king salmon hand roll. All nigiri was delicious, fish tasted really fresh and assembled perfectly. Hand rolls very tasty. I really liked the don at the end. It was a perfect place for a solo lunch, it doesn't get loud and it's an intimate setting. Definitely you check it out!

The quality if sushi for $65 prix fixe in nyc is amazing. Totally beat all those I have tried for $99. Just see the phots on nigiri to make the call. Ambience is a nice omakase seating but it is a bit of a rush. Finish the meal is about 60 min as in class omakase tradition. For most of you, get the $65 prix fixe as you will finish it ;)

Came here on a saturday around 8:20 PM and the estimated wait time was over 2 hours, so we instead decided to order takeout. Note that the takeout and dine in menus are different, and that takeout orders can only be taken online. We waited about 20-30 minutes for our order. We ordered the akita set, which came with 8 pieces of nigiri and 2 maki rolls, as well as the nagoya set, which came with 16 pieces of nigiri. For the maki rolls, I chose the miso salmon avocado and the yellowtail hamachi. Although the nigiri is more expensive than the maki, I actually found the maki to more tasty. I liked both the rolls equally. For the nigiri, my favorite ones were the ikura roe and the unagi eel. The fish was very fresh and high quality. A good option for elevated takeout sushi. Will definitely return to try the dine in menu.

For the price with good quality omakase this place is a must try! I observe on their website they stated that no reservation and walk in only. I was a bit hesitant to go because their might be a long waiting list on a weekend. but glad I went and check because we waited about 30-40 mins before we got seated but theirs this food fare going on right outside the street of the building so we walk around while waiting. In the beginning we had a hard time finding the place because its in the second floor of a walk up building and they put this little sign thats outside the door. The place is cute with 12 bar seats. We pick the tokyo $43 with 9 nigiri, 2 handrolls and 1 kaisendon. Each piece is so delicious! We first got a handroll to start then nigiri and kaisendon. Each piece melts in your mouth. This makes my NYC trip memorable! I highly recommend!

The takeout order directly from the restaurant (to avoid the large doordash fee) was also delicious. Exceptional presentation, and great quality even when eaten later. While I was sitting down to order takeout, the waiters were still attentive and brought water. As others have said, warm, welcoming place!

We came on a Friday for lunch around 12:30p (party of 2) and only had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. However, we overheard that there was an hour wait for the following people in line! I'd budget a longer wait at dinner time (or a weekend lunch), unless you can make it right when they open. As mentioned by others, this is a tiny place, introduced by an unassuming door and a ramp of stairs. There are just 10 bar stools set around a sushi bar, but the day we went only 7 were being served during lunch... probably because it was just a 1-man show). We opted for their Kyoto set and a few more hand-rolls with à la carte (the king salmon and the eel were our favorite). This is a solid omakase, affordable and of really good quality. We will return.

THE BIG: $48 omakase in Koreatown of Manhattan! Unmarked sushi bar that's located on the second floor but once you know where the door is, it's hard to miss. Public transportation is a must to get here. THE BLACK AND WHITE: First come first serve, so definitely get here as it opens. We got the final two spots before the wait became an hour long. For the omakase, we got the Hokkaido Omakase, which included 10 nigiris, 2 handrolls and 1 kaisendon (bowl of steamed rice with sashimi). All the chef's selection was great and fresh and we had a fatty tuna (otoro) at the end. Delicious! For the extras, we tried the uni tasting which had 3 types of uni but unfortunately, one of the unis were out so we got 2 of the santa barbara unis and 1 hokkaido uni. I wish we got more hokkaido uni becuase it looked prettier and tasted better imo. We also got a toro nigiri and unagi to round out the lunch. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around $240 for the omakase and a few extra add-ons. Quality was superb and will definitely be back to eat more affordable omakases :)

Came for dinner on a Thursday at 5:42 and got seated after about a 10-minute wait. My boyfriend and I both did the Tokyo set which was a great value/price. Highlights were the trout, king salmon, chopped toro, and Hokkaido scallop. Service was good.

Sendo is hidden behind a little door on the second floor. Had a very filling lunch at Sendo on a Tuesday afternoon. We came a little before 12 and was able to snag the last two seats before the waitlist. They seat first come, first serve so you may have to wait 15-60 min for a seat depending on when people come in. We each got the hokkido omakase. For $48 it was VERY filling and delicious. My favorite was the king salmon and yellow tail. Service is quick and you are served sushi counter clockwise facing the chef. You can also order Al La carte. We got the Uni tasting, another Toro piece and a unagi piece. Highly recommend the unagi! It was a fabulous way to end the lunch and I was so full after. Music and vibes are great all around.

Friendly staff, intimate space, and most importantly, delicious sushi! Everything was so fresh and expertly (and efficiently) prepared by the chef. The space only seats 10 at the counter and there's no waiting list, but the meal is well-paced and moves along quickly. My friend and I did the Hokkaido set for $48/person, which comes with 10 pieces of nigiri, 2 handrolls, and 1 kaisendon. Fantastic value -- compared to the Tokyo and Kyoto sets, the Hokkaido set comes with a king salmon and fatty tuna handroll (instead of white fish and salmon), sweet shrimp nigiri, and salmon roe on the kaisendon. Loved the thoughtfulness and elevated experience at this price point. Would definitely come again to get my omakase fix!

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. Now, having said that although the food was decent, there were a couple of questionable choices in the overall presentation and plating and the sauces that accompany the black cod bento box I ordered, which did not actually come in a box. Everything is brought out piecemeal so you don't get an actual meal before you, but a lot of little plates brought out at different times, kinda like the Japanese equivalent of Tapas. We have been to this location twice, hoping the first time was a fluke, and trying to give them a chance only for the second time to be worse. The waitstaff is entirely disengaged from the customers. They rush you through the order process and don't explain any of the menu offerings, such as what is the difference between the different platter options. When they do come over, you are greeted with the sweetness and warmth of an unemotionally flat "What do you want?" After you get your food, no one comes over to refill water and cups are initially filled halfway with too much ice. No one comes over to remove plates afterward, and they definitely show no interest in finding out if you are enjoying your meal in the least. The booth we were sat at had not been cleaned after the last party's use so there was sauce all over, and it got on the back of my pants, which I later discovered while walking home...the joy. After eating comes the best part, they come over with these tablets outlining your check on the screen. Meanwhile, the tablets are strapped to their bodies the entire time. They don't allow you to scrutinize the charges in peace, no, they stand there impatiently for the duration either swerving from side to side of tapping their foot signaling discomfort that you're taking way too long. The funny part is the straps have clips to remove the tablets so it's not like it's impossible to leave the tablet and come back shortly. The whole process feels very rushed and pressurized for you to tip with one of the predetermined button selections, which start at 25%. Ummm, service sucked so no, we're definitely NOT starting there. I guess now we're both disappointed. Eventually, you get no paper receipt for your records even if you ask for it to be printed. And the whole time, the waitstaff is with you judging you on your tipping and not even being graceful enough to restrain their reaction. So no, not going back, and definitely would not recommend as a place to have a good time. Now, if you're looking for an uncomfortable experience served by someone that completely ignores you during your entire time there and expects an exorbitant tip to boot, then yes, this is the place for you!
